Esteban's recommendation was to change all the fixtures, converting it so that there will only be one faucet lever and covering the holes with escutcheon.

They came on time the day of the job. They were courteous, responsive — answered all my questions and explained what they were doing, finished the job fast, and left the bathroom spotless. We're happy with the faucet/ shower/ escutcheon set that they installed. Those were included with the price he quoted me beforehand.

They also use a drain video camera to check the pipe and make sure the pipe looks ok. There are some tree root issues and they gave us a quote for the repair. Answer all our questions… and did we say video inspection… thanks god we didn't have any collapse pipes! They also have this alien looking probe thing that tell you where the camera is so I now know where the drain line is actually going!

Not only were they professional, friendly and courteous on the phone, they had a plumber out EARLIER than promised, same day(!) Guillermo Avalos installed my kitchen faucet, went to the hardware store for a part he needed and came back to finish the job all the while with a smile and great attitude. He completed the job in such a clean manner that I swear I think my kitchen was cleaner when he left than upon his arrival 😁 and he even offered to take the box from my new faucet down to the trash. Moreover, I had a small leak under my bathroom basin that I asked him to look at while he was here and he was able to fix the issue in under 5 minutes, was honest with me about what the little problem was and didn’t charge me a penny for it. Guillermo came out to first diagnose the issue, then again to take care of the job. Great guy, super friendly, and he did nice, neat work leaving the wall in good condition to get patched up later. Also after a small hiccup with the wall’s electrical not working once he’d left, he returned the same day to correct the problem with no complaints or extra cost. I would recommend A-1 to others and will for sure call on them for future plumbing needs.

I called on a Saturday with hot water heater problems, and they came out ON TIME on a ***SUNDAY*** to haul away my old, broken water heater and install a brand new one. On a SUNDAY – with no added charge for working on the weekend.

After installation was complete, I had hot water in 25 minutes. Seems unbelievable – I thought it would take hours.

Alexis was on time, personable, knowledgeable, efficient & an *expert* installer. He was so nice to work with & he answered all my questions.

And My second call a leaky old iron pipe on the ground surface area for the kitchen main drainage. Part was in the ground and needed to be unburied with a large clump cement on it.

I think that the work was done correctly but that I was not fully informed as to what could be additional charges.

If you have a large tree in your yard It seems to reason there might be roots in the pipe to the street.

I understood that the price I was given was to the street. When I pointed this out on the phone to the manager he said he never said anything about going to the street.

The last day of the working being completed, he put a scope down the pipe from the house to the street and found that there were roots in the pipe and quoted it would be another 9000 plus dollars to finish the project, that was already over $11000.

I was shocked.

If I had been given some advanced notice that this was likely to happen and that it would cost alot more money, it would have saved me a lot of anxiety.

I also asked for photographs of the work in progress and everything under the house as work was completed, so I could show it to my 87 year old mother who owns the house, to validate this expense and was given none to prove the work was completed correctly and fully.

I called a few times to talk to them about the plaster job and the women said each time that a manager would call me back, I am still waiting and it has been 5 months and still no call. When they tried to get me to spend over 10k on something that wasn't needed the manager called me within 10 minutes trying to Selle the big job. I guess that is what the managers do at this company is sell instead of customer service. I will not be using this company anymore as you can see in the photo, I have to get a plasterer now to fix what should have been done right in the first place. But what is worse is when no one calls you back. That is a company no one should do business with.
ken takenaka rated it 1/5: We had a stoppage beneath our bathtub. I'm a handyman and would normally take care of it, but due to ongoing health issues we decided to hire a plumber to take care of what I thought would be a simple enough job. We called Rooter Man and they sent George. He tried snaking the drain, even though I told him I already tried. Surprise, he couldn't do it either. He went underneath the house, then came out and said he saw some wet dirt underneath the house so a section of pipe would have to be replaced in order to fix the stoppage. Since he's the professional, we gave the okay to do the work. Apparently, as he was replacing the section, he noticed there was dirt/debris in the pipe. Instead of telling us about the issue, he decided to replace the section and close it up. PROBLEM NOT FIXED! We checked the drainage from tub and found it was till not draining. When we told him, he then dropped a bomb on us with an $8,800 estimate to replace the rest of the piping. Mind you, he just charged us $2,150 to replace 3 ft. of piping that didn't need to be replaced. Here is where the anger comes in. I went underneath the house to check out the work. While down there, I notice a section of piping I could access which George either overlooked or chose to ignore. I figured I would try to snake it to see if does any good. Low and behold, I ran the snake through it and it popped the plug. The tub is now draining. Either he didn't know what he is doing (which is what would hope) or he and Rooter Man are trying to upsell service. Worst case is they are flat out trying to con customers. I read reviews (after the fact) and I saw similar complaints. I know the saying, "You pay for the knowledge" not the actual repair. I can guarantee you, if he was working on his own home, he would have explored every avenue before making a decision to replace the entire piping underneath the house. If you are not handy, unfortunately you are at the mercy of any plumber. I recommend to avoid Rooter Man.

I had a lot of questions regarding our septic system and he was very informative. Second time, I requested Joe again & got an appointment for 4 days later. However, because we had a bit of an urgent matter, Jeff came to the rescue along with Joseph. Again, very kind and respectful. Jeff was answering g my questions about some future work I plan to get done. He even said he would go ahead and cancel my previous appointment made for the following Tuesday since they were able to make it out sooner. T FF rated it 5/5: In less then 24 hours, of calling them, in a panic, Acosta sewers, were pumping my system. The gentleman that did the service was friendly, courteous and very professional. I apologize I did not get his name. He did not pump and run, he explained to us how the system worked and what we could do to fix our issue. He instructed us what to do and what product to purchase. He wanted us to save money by not hiring him to do it. Their price were also 1/2 the cost, of the other two companies we hired to pump our system in the last year.

For many years we used the same vendor to service our septic tank and do to them being unavailable for days we looked for someone else local and found Acosta & Sons and we are so happy that we did. Bernie was AWESOME and he gave us tons of information that we never received before about how to care for our septic tank. Highly recommend Acosta & Sons Sewer Contractors.
Arthur Bagumyan rated it 3/5: Definitely was some miscommunication between me and Mr Acosta from the beginning, but it was really neither of our fault, it was a tenants fault for delaying the job. Mr Acosta is an older gentleman who might get a little grump at times, but he's an OK man, just gotta understand he's an older person so doesn't have too much patience. Otherwise, he is very experienced in what he does, he has the tools and the trucks to do the work, and his prices are fantastic compared to other companies I got a quote from. I would definitely hire him again, once you know his personality I think it's easier to work with him.

As an intern, sometimes management doesn't really care about the skill set that you learn during the internship because they are so busy with actual work but not here. They really cared to show us the ropes and had me be a part of the work in the estimation process as well as the project management process. Also the people running the company are very nice and know how to keep a professional setting along with creating a very friendly dynamic

Ted B rated it 5/5: Needed our 40+ year old septic tank inspected and upgraded. Will at Topanga septic was able to do the work quickly and at a reasonable price. The tank was missing a couple of cleanouts which he installed. I had spoken to a couple of other companies before contacting Topanga Septic and both said without seeing the tank that a 40 year old tank would probably need to be replaced. Will was able to determine that the tank was still in good shape and just needed some roots removed and new clean outs installed. I definitely recommend Topanga Septic.

isabel rated it 1/5: Will "built me a new leach field" 4 years ago and I've had to have my system pumped every 4 months since because the field is dysfunctional. The system is in worse shape then when he got there. I'm now having to have major work done to repair the damage he and his team have done. Will is not a plumber and not a septic expert.
