While I am still weighing out my options, this is where I'd like to come back for repairs should I decide to get the work done. The gal who initially helped us was great, and Steve, our estimator, was superb. Excellent customer service. Steve really took his time explaining everything to me and giving me great insight into my options. Really neat shop as well. Architecture was retro, like something out of The Jetsons, almost felt like it wasn't a body shop at all. Overall great experience.

I knew that Uptown Body & Fender regularly hosts community events in its space because I used to live in the neighborhood. So that’s where I went for my estimate. The entire experience from beginning to end was beyond pleasant. Delightful I would even say. I very much enjoyed chatting with the owner, Giovanna. She and every employee I encountered explained the insurance process perfectly. All were gracious and friendly. The coffee was delicious. And when I picked up the car, not only did it have a perfect new bumper, it was cleaner than it’s ever been since I’ve owned it. Oh plus I got a thank you note and a cookie! I would definitely recommend this business.

I have been there for art and social events and so felt good about it being a business that contributes so much to the community.
Unfortunately the parts are on back order and I was given a repair date 3 months in advance. Sigh, urban life… Uptown was able to locate an after market part and get me back into my car within 2 months. My car was returned clean and detailed.

My car started to have the engine light go on the day after I got it back. They were very responsive and hooked me up with a great mechanic. It turned out the problem was unrelated to the work they had done and it was coincidental that it happened right after pickup. They demonstrated their willingness to look into and correct if a problem arises after they have done work. The staff's sympathy and good humor was welcome in the stress of all this. Great service and professionalism!

I met with Drew and he was so nice and Professional. He gave me a price to paint the home fairly quickly with details and figures in a very professional matter. I felt it was a very reasonable quote.
Drew started the job when he said he would, communicated extremely well and did everything he said he would do. I was VERY IMPRESSED with his Professionalism, Follow-Thru, Honesty, Pleasant Personality and Quality of Work. Alex Lee rated it 5/5: After 15 years and finally a knock on the door to see if our house needs a paint job by a college student. I said Yes and was later contacted by Lucas and his supervisor Alexi. The initial meeting was very informative as Lucas went over the details of the paint job after they walked around the house making measurements and noting some of the peeling paint in certain parts of the house. We discovered that additional work needs to be done before the painting job can begin and Alexi was able to recommend her people to come over for a bid. We selected the same person that was going to paint our house to replace the dry rotted facial boards. Everything when smoothly and I appreciated they professional quality of the work. The workers sweep and cleaned up daily so we did not have to come home to a layer of dust everywhere. George the painter and his paint crew was very detailed oriented and did a thorough job. They even caught details that I did not even notice. Overall this was a pleasant experience having College Works manage the project. Lucas and Alexi were very responsive and always remembered to check up on the job progress. I will definitely consider using the same company again in 10 years when I need a new paint job.

In three days, we had a perfectly painted home that has wowed the neighborhood. She consistently throughout the project ensured that we were satisfied and had no complaints or concerns. Our painters were amazing, they were so organized and the results showed their commitment to excellence. I was so surprised that our yard, plants, furniture etc. were paint free. He was very courteous and thorough in his communications and set appropriate expectations regarding what would be done, when and how. He strove to dovetail his schedule with mine over the busy summer holidays. He ensured that the paint matching was done to my satisfaction, even if that meant multiple attempts. Richard and his crew completed the work on schedule as promised and to my satisfaction. The crew was tidy, and the painting was done with precision. They even did a minor repair on my bumper for free several weeks after I got my car back! Nothing related to my insurance claim – just super nice and helpful people. That being said, they cancelled my car's tow that THEY themselves recommended a half hour after the towing appointment. Additionally they took over a month for what was seemingly MAYBE a week repair. Although it was smoothed out when getting my vehicle, they told me 3 separate times that my car would be ready on a specific day and each time did not answer calls / did not reach out. Perhaps the management needs to step up to support the wonderful team at the Oakland location. I'm happy with the work, but in all honesty felt completely trapped in my choice to get my car repaired here.

CCA Environmental rated it 5/5: I Used this company for multiple jobs, for repainting my kitchen cabinets because I wasn't satisfied with the original paints "precision cabinets" applied on my cabinets. Russell came first went over my project, listened carefully and answered my questions clearly. I also asked him to paint my newly build deck. Russell gave estimate and immediately next day that followed by set up appointment with their lead technician "Pedro" to go over my job. The job was fast as promised and very clean with very reasonable price. In future I may paint entire exterior of my house and will definitely go with MB Jessee. Great management and very friendly customer service. Everything went smoothly and I highly recommend MB Jessee if you are looking for professional painting company with reasonable price don't go further call Russell and Pedro. Thanks for all good work.

Our SUV ended up needing pretty major front end repairs, and when other shops said nothing could be done, these guys saved the day!! They even assembled and installed custom Off-road bumpers that we were wanting to get. And they kept us updated by text and with photos from the shop during the entire process. I hope I will never need more body work done on a car , but if I do, I’m heading back to this repair center. I also will recommend them to any one I know who might need body work done on their vehicle. Robert was very communicative. Great business.

Maria Lemieux rated it 5/5: They were quick to respond both through Yelp messaging and follow-up over the phone, ordered and received the necessary lights to fix my front headlight within a couple of hours, and finished repair even sooner than they estimated or I expected! I had hit a deer over the weekend (the deer was fine, I promise! Hopped off the highway without any sign of injury) and my front headlight was shattered. $380 felt steep to me but was more than fair as it was the lowest out of all the other estimates I got. I learned that my Nissan Altima had tricky lights to get, and Fruitvale Collision fixed my bumper at no extra charge. I was concerned the auto sensing option of my light would be affected, but a month later and no problems at all.
Tip: if you want to wait it out somewhere, Red Bay Coffee and Ale Industries are a relatively quick walk away and have spacious outdoor seating. I wanted to get tacos but couldn't see any places with outdoor dining I would feel safe with yet.

Robert and Jose were responsive on Yelp and over text, provided competitively priced quotes that laid out options for using new or used parts, were candid in their professional opinions about the work we were inquiring about, and ultimately referred us to Autoglass Medics who replaced our windshield. Will definitely look to them for any future auto body work!

I called the number, the owner (Carlos) answered while on vacation out of state. Although the shop was closed, his brother opened up for us, inspected the car and was EXTREMELY helpful. I was still shaken from the ordeal, and was given such professional, caring service.
Sadly, our auto insurance wanted our car towed down to us, so we had to cancel our service with them on Monday evening. They had already prepared an estimate and were incredibly kind and understanding throughout. If our insurance didn’t advise us to have vehicle moved closer to home, I would have confidently and assuredly moved forward with them. After all, they showed nothing but excellence in dealing with our holiday crisis.
The shop is clean, safe and secure. I would recommend them to anyone based on our interaction and the quick response and extra miles they went for us.

Carlos Ortiz was incredibly efficient and professional: I emailed him pictures and he sent over a descriptive, comprehensive quote. He was honest and incredibly helpful, and when I asked if I could pick the partial repairs I wanted to save money, he was understanding and did not pressure me to get all the repairs done (unlike a different collision center I went to). I wanted to buy the parts myself (to save money), and he was reasonable in being willing to work with that and gave me the part numbers I needed. He answered all my questions with honesty, helpfulness, and respect. He also offered the best prices for labor I could find and discounts for paying out of pocket. Upon getting the repairs I needed, the repairs and paint job looked perfect, and the quote was accurate and he did not try to charge me more than what was signed. Furthermore, when it turned out a window applicator needed to be replaced after the job was done, he offered to do it for free (I only had to get the part). Great customer experience, 10/10 would recommend!

The owner coordinated the work (ordering parts and painting in advance) so that I was only without the car for about five hours. He included a little work the other shops had excluded. He also helped a friend with a lot of advice about her car situation although there was absolutely nothing in it for him. I highly recommend Carlos and Oakland Auto Body.

Great quality work, the parts they use are genuine. They treat your car as if it’s their own. They were also great about following up when I dropped the ball on communication, and even dropped off our car at our house because we were out of town.
