I needed repair on my sub zero freezer; they present themselves as authorized and knowledgeable; they need to do a complete new sealed system repair; they had to return at least 5 times because they could never figure out the problem; they finally got it to work but for less than 90 days; they then refused to honor the warranty; BTW, 90 days is outrageous; warranty should be at least 1 year; so i hired another company who explained to me exactly what they did and didn't do; they were shocked at their incompetence/fraud; they made a huge frankenstein-like repair and did not use new pieces; they also didn't even install certain parts. huge scam.

I got the refer from my building, even they are overpriced I assume they can get the job done, so I reached out to them to fix my fridge. For the first visit, because my freezer was not cold enough so I asked them to do the regular check up/maintenance which cost me $270 for 10 minute of work and they said they will fix it next time. Second visit, since I didn't hear them back so I called them to see when they will fix it, they said they have to come back again to check what was the problem because they FORGOT what it was during the first visit. After second visit they reset a set up in the freezer and left (spent less than 5 minutes to press a button). It didn't work so I called again, they said they will have to come to check again. So, they came again took a look and told me I need to change an electric part and left (less than 5 minuets). So, I called again afterwards and ask when they will come to fix, and they said I have to pay upfront for both labor and the part. So I paid ~$600 upfront. Finally, they came and spent less than 10 minutes to just looked at it and didn't change the electric part and told me it's another problem and the part won't solve it and left. I called them again, they said in order to fix it I need pay an additional $1,500! At this point I already spent almost $900 and nothing has been done to fix and I didn't even get the electric part that I paid for. I finally gave up and asked them for refund or even just partial but they never respond back.

My refrigerator is not working properly, as of today (2/26/2022) and I am losing food every day. In all of the 20 plus years that I have been a Sears customer, I have never experienced this type of repair service. My next appointment (3/2/2022) may turn out to be a disappointment as well because I am losing my confidence in Sears's ability to offer quality repair service. As of 3/16/2022 – The technician was on time for the 3/11/2022 appointment and made the necessary repairs. My refrigerator/freezer is working better (38 & 3 degrees) as of today, but it took time for it to reach this steady temperature. I would like to give it at least another week before I can say "all is good" and go food shopping with my Food Loss Reimbursement Check. I have been using a rental since 3/4/2022 and would like to return it sooner rather than later since it is taking up space, using additional electricity and is much smaller than my GE Profile. On another note, I would like to thank the Sears staff that was so helpful and knowledgeable in what was needed to get this issue resolved and meet my urgent needs and I am looking forward to upgrading this review to 5 STARS & A Job Well Done!

As of today, 4/18/2022 – I received my new replacement Kenmore refrigerator on 4/8/2022 and I was quite pleased with the professional delivery, installation and removal of my old refrigerator. Sears honored their Master Protection Plan to the fullest and I can honestly say "JOB WELL DONE to SEARS". I also requested a maintenance checkup for my Kenmore dishwasher and Yugen showed up on time and performed this task as expected. He fixed the issue and offered up to date information on how to help keep my dishwashing working well. Thank you to all of the SEARS Staff for helping me through this long and stressful process.
Lastly, "NO MORE THIRD-PARTY TECHNICIANS PLEASE".

As of today, 8/15/2022, all of my Sears appliances are working well. Thank you Yugen for your professional and knowledgeable services. Igor came in person to diagnose the problem (a $100 fee) and give me an estimate to replace the drain pump of $400-$450. He came back with the part a week later, and brought another man with him because my units are stacked. The parts and labor ended up totaling $400 which was within the estimate. For both visits, Igor gave me a time window, and I asked him to call when he was 30 min away which he also did. I would definitely use this company again because of the ease of scheduling and their professionalism.

Robert came several times as it was a persistent issue and the parts were not working well. He only charged us for the initial visit and parts which is also amazing. He also had fixed our regular oven in the past and did a fantastic job. This company was extremely professional. They explained everything clearly. They kept us up to date with the part ordering. They gave us a window of time in advance when they would arrive but then they called us as soon as they knew exactly when they would arrive. The repairman diagnosed our issue immediately, ordered the necessary part, and then came back on time to fix it. They deserve all five stars. They were perfect.

Communication was easy and effective. The form time niche was 4 hours, but the technician called about 20 twinkles before his appearance( which was right at the morning of the form niche). My fridge was successfully fixed after he diagnosed and linked the problem. In addition, he gave me some useful tips regarding the selection of unborn appliances. This was a great stylish refrigerator from experience for me as a client.

He was so amazing he'd my fridge fixed and back in place in lower than half an hour. He was extremely friendly, explaining the problem and how to help it from passing again. This company is fantastic!

He was heading out to another job but said he would call when he was on his way to repair my oven. I know-what a time of year for my oven to act up!! True to his word, he called about 3 1/2 hours later and was on the way. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. He fixed the oven and I can finish what I need to get done for the holiday. Thanks, Pete!!

Ditmas Park Cooperative rated it 5/5: Got Peter's (the son in Father & Son Appliance Repair) info via our neighborhood listserv's recommended tradespeople list. Called him Thursday, explained issue that gas oven was not turning on (but broiler and stovetop were). Sent him photos including the model placard. We agreed it was likely the igniter which had gone bad 3 years back. He was here the next day and fixed it! We commiserated over all these modern made-to-break appliances and he gave me some advice – don't use the self-clean – it could possibly melt and mess up the computer module touch screen since the vent is right under it (dumb design i.e. made to break). If any appliance breaks again, we are calling Peter!!
