One of which is no longer available online and both were stained from years of foot traffic, pet hair, food stains, and even cat fecal matter. I was in desperate straits & needed my rugs cleaned while I was away on vacation. This was my first time getting them cleaned! I wasn't sure how it would turn out.

When I came back, my rugs were both looking like new! They told me how they went over some stains repeatedly in order to get them out; something they make clear on the website, is not always possible. But they were able to do it and they clearly paid close attention to detail as their main method of cleaning the rugs involves a large machine. And you know how machines aren't always as thorough as human effort & labor.

Anywhoo this was my first time getting my rugs cleaned & I was quite pleased with the result.

Drop-off was a breeze. You pull into the parking lot at the side of the building, park & call. They will buzz you in through the blue door by the loading dock. It's right there. You can't miss it. The strapping gents working there helped me carry my rugs up. I got a little discount for having brought my rugs in for drop-off & for picking it up when it was done, so if you're looking for a cost efficient way of getting your rugs cleaned, try & transport them there yourself. You are expected to pay at drop-off.

Upon pick-up, they were kind enough to let me open my rugs on the sales floor to check & see if there was anything missed. The contrast of before and after can be seen in the photos I uploaded.

10/10 would go there again.

I can tell the staff work hard and take pride in their results. When I picked up, they were just getting back in the swing of it as some ppl were out on vacation & things had got backed up a bit. I was not in a rush & was overall very pleased with the customer care I recieved.

Every time they returned them, I would vacuum them and have a PILE of dirt in my vacuum from EACH rug. The final time, I displayed by brand clean vacuum cannister to the delivery crew and then vacuumed a portion of one rug while they watched. They couldn't believe the dirt. The son has taken over and is not running the business properly. Picture shows dirt piles vacuumed from each of the rugs after one of the returns. They agreed to refund my $1300 plus, however, my rugs are now falling apart (fringes are literally disintegrating and I have an excess amount of fibers in my vacuum after vacuuming), and there are permanent creases in the rugs. They have destroyed them. $1300 will not cover the cost to replace even one of the rugs. Beware!

I received a phone call within minutes of my inquiry and had a reasonable quote in hand within an hour.

My cat had torn up the carpet at the doorway because he was accidently locked in the room overnight.

Brian arrived on time and did a great job repairing the damage! It looks like brand new again!

Howard Robinette rated it 1/5: I contacted DC Carpet Care to clean an area rug. Due to my work schedule, I left my rug on the front porch for pickup. They picked the rug up and about a week later they called to tell me it was cleaned. They dropped it off three days later and it stayed rolled up in my living room since I didn’t have time to move my furniture to put it back.
One week after receiving the rug, I was able to put it back. I moved my furniture and unrolled it, and it was NOT cleaned. It was evident that it was not vacuumed because there were food crumbs, women’s hair, pillow stuffing (clumps just sitting on the carpet) and loose dirt everywhere. It was also evident that it was NOT shampooed because the carpet reeked of milk vomit (the whole reason I needed it cleaned), caked on food, and other things that were easily loosened with my fingernail.

I called the owner and acknowledged that businesses experience loss and that things happen, and that I would just like a refund because it was not cleaned. He said that they normally don’t issue refunds but if he could inspect the rug he would potentially issue a refund or clean it again. I described exactly what I wrote above, and he swore up and down that he had cleaned the rug personally. After I told him that he is either very bad at cleaning rugs or that he is lying to me, he immediately deflected and said that he was not in the office that week and that an employee must have let it slip. He continued to interrupt and speak over me.

He still insisted that he come and inspect it, any week day 8AM to 2PM. I gave him a day and then he said he can’t do those days and it would have to be a weekend (???) and that we could even leave it on the porch again, which we declined because of his already lacking integrity.

After a lot of back and forth, I could not get him to come out at a reasonable time or day, and had to file a dispute with the bank.

Had the service actually been provided, I’m sure that it would have been satisfactory. However, the service was not provided and the customer service was atrocious.

The photos attached are the rug after receiving it from DC Carpet Care and painters tape marking everything I found; my vacuum and a household carpet cleaner AFTER vacuuming and cleaning it myself. It took me one hour. The rug was obviously not cleaned, and if it was, then this business is worse than items available at Walmart.
