Initially Chris came out to assess our home and give us recommendations. Appreciate that I had been researching security companies, security equipment and smart home devices for over a year. The great thing about Chris is that he used to be an installation tech. This gives him great insight on how to design an all inclusive
    smart-home/security system that is all accessible on 1 app. A number of "sales" consultants from other security companies recommended products that would not work together or even be necessary for our project. Matt and Romeo were the techs who performed the installation and programming of our system. They were outstanding as they overcame numerous obstacles in having to retrofit their equipment into our 12 year old home. Matt who was the lead tech was awesome and enthusiastically addressed my long punch list of questions and concerns. I know that I can be difficult and hard to please. They were incredibly patient! My wife and I are thrilled with our new smart-home/security system! Thank you guys so much!!!

Very frustrating and defeats the purpose of a security system. If your looking for 24/7 recording look elsewhere unless you want to pay additional fees.

We called trouble shooting and they were unable to help remotely at which time they told us it $120/30 minutes with an additional $30 every 30 minutes after for them to send someone because "we own the device". We decided we would cancel the services all together which was going to cost us $1200 because we are in a five year contract, apparently. So basically we are paying them monthly and unable to use all the service but they want US to pay $150/hour for a tech to come fix THEIR system!!! Absolutely absurd and unheard of. I have never dealt with a company that won't send someone to fix and issue on their end. If we broke the camera, fine…but that's not the case!! Even a $20-30 service fee I would be okay with…but $150/hour!!!!! This company screws you if something goes wrong with your device. They are fine, as long as nothing goes wrong.

Perhaps the "Inside" protection works.. we have that.. however we also purchased their outside cameras which was the worst decision. We have nothing but problems, either the camera will NOT record or they record outside the perimeters that we place. They only allow you a certain amount of videos per month and then you are out of luck!! And it's no fault of mine -as either their camera will always fail at picking up more photos than your perimeter was fixed at or the cameras won't record what you requested. It is a constant problem. Once you get to your "limit" of the month- guess what-you are out of luck. We are now stuck at paying an early termination fee -YES $750.00 or wait 22 months. So I will wait (maybe) one yr and LOOK for another company. I will never refer this company to anyone. Yes, I'm very unhappy with it -extremely unhappy. I apologize to the lady I spoke to on the phone -its not your fault -you just work there. But I've been so frustrated for many months having to deal with this problem. The last guy I spoke with.. I thought he had it fixed.. NOPE!!! The cameras once again stopped video taping where I wanted it to. It's like he fixes one problem -then another arises -and its CONSTANT!!!!

Our home was already installed with Guardian cameras when we bought it so we thought we would go with guardian for home monitoring. Unfortunately, it has been one upgrade after another and the customer service at the loyalty department is horrible. I had to pay an outrageous amount for cameras and service for an upgrade I had to do so now I in Having to pay and I have a balance due on which I make payments on every month. I called to see if I could get a tech to come out because my driveway and doorbell are not connecting to my Internet. They told me that I could not get a tech because I was more than 90 days past due on an account that I’ve been paying on obviously but since I have a past due amount, nobody can come out and service my equipment. I don’t know why I renewed my contract after having such horrible service I think I was just not wanting to shop around. Now that I only have 10 months left on my account I’ve seriously been reconsidering just paying off the 10 months and leaving. I just got off with the loyalty department and all she could say is I understand I understand. I’m sorry that you’re feeling this way , I don’t want her empathy. I want my issue resolved if there was any way I could leave my contract I would seriously considering just paying to leave this frustration and they’re horrible customer service.

I thought I was being ripped off when I thought it was a 2 year contract I was going to be stuck with this useless service, but today i found out it is a 5 year contract. Cheese and crackers, what an absolute rip off. Avoid contracts when buying a monitoring service, there is no reason it is a 5 year contract besides locking people into a legally binding rip off. LOOK FOR A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A 5 YEAR CONTRACT!

    After reviewing the other reviews left here, All the good reviews come from people who just had their system installed. My tech was very polite and friendly as well, and if i reviewed this company based off of that alone, i would have given them 5 stars.

They email marketing information frequently so access to proper email address is not the issue. The contract has still not been provided, nor have the agents provided the exact information on the early termination penalty. A hand written request for cancellation was required. The company can video call a technician into your home to troubleshoot so access to technology for proper support is not the issue. The company practices to obtain customers deceptively in relation to contracts, and then to accommodate customers who move and no longer need the service are less than ethical.

I’m unhappy with the so called “upgrade” the system lags and when I open the door there is a 5 second delay by the time the door opens and closes you hear “ front door” that means I’m notified AFTER someone has already came through my door! The Nest doorbell is a joke the video quality is not that great and it’s not a 180 degree view. It fell off after someone rung my doorbell within a week. The technician burned my door jam to make the panel fit when all he had to do was move the panel over an 1/2 inch! Now ADT has to replace My door frame! I canceled my contact within the 3 day period and first account manager I spoke to refused to cancel me stating I passed the 3 day period. The 3 days ended on a Sunday but my contract stated I had 3 business days Sunday is not a business day!! I had to call the acct management dept on 4 different occasions!! I still have not been contacted to finalize the cancellation, or reimburse me for the damage to my door, and it’s been over 10 business days! Under Texas Law when you cancel the company has 10 business days to respond. I will be contacting my lawyer to address this. ADT has poor business practices and is not abiding by the law. Do not purchase alarm equipment from this company! I posted pictures of the damage to my doorframe. Adt please properly train your installation technicians!

When she decided to terminate her service and switch to another local security provider ADT claimed she owed a cancellation penalty saying that she had made a verbal one year extension to her contract a few months ago. When she said that she made no such contract extension and asked for proof of such an agreement ADT could provide no proof but billed Ms. Scurlock this penalty regardless. She is contesting this charge and wishes to file this report for the benefit of other dissatisfied ADT customers.

I was expecting a package so I opened my door slightly, to check if it was there When I did a man in an ADT hat was standing between my screen door and hardwood door. He should've never opened my screen door. Or if he did not see my door bell, and wanted to knock he should've done so and closed my screen door and waited. He is lucky the dogs didn't get out. He asked me if I was the new homeowner. I told him I was not interested and closed my door. About 5 minutes later I went out to the front of my house. another man pulls up. Asking if I am the new homeowner. These people are saleing safety. Opening my screen door and standing there and asking who I am doesn't give me thoughts of safety. He then identified himself with ADTservice. I told him I don't have nor do I want ADT. I told him what had just happened and he wanted to know why that offended me. Because that is how people push their way in, also he heard my dogs, I would think he would have realized if I opened my door all the way, my dogs would not like seeing him there. The other guy should have identified himself before asking me questions, he didn't even have a hat on. His shirt may have said ADT, but I didn't get that close. He should've had an ID out, so if I had wanted to talk to him I could call and confirm who he was. Shame on me for having my screen door unlocked. That will never happen again.
    ADT needs to look at how there people in the field are approaching people.

I moved and there was no other alarm service I was going to trust in my new home other than Smith Thompson. I will also contact about pest control. Unfortunately, I had contacted Angi/Home Advisor and all their quotes were $100+. ST beat them again with under $60!!! So I missed out this month but will contact them in 3 months for the next round.

    Luckily never a real alarm!
    The installation at the new property went well and was done on time and the tech was good to work with.
    The only suggestion I have is when I offer you a ladder, maybe you could return it to where you got it and close it up?
    Otherwise all great!
