    Today they came out and installed a new 50a 240v plug for an EV Charger. They called ahead when a tech became available earlier than scheduled, tech arrived and gave an accurate quote, picked up the parts and returned promptly. Whole install completed from quote to payment in a few hours – before he was originally scheduled to arrive! Tech was friendly, courteous, answered all our questions and installed it exactly where and how we wanted.

    This has been a consistent experience. Every tech has been early or on-time, knowledgeable, and friendly. Work has been done same day when possible, or next day when a part has to be ordered.

    We've thought about trying other services but Conway has tackled everything we needed for good rates and great response times. Why gamble a consistently great experience over a few bucks!

He measured the space and walked through the different system options with me. He clearly communicated what the process would be like and what I could expect at install. The install team was on the same page as the sales team. Before they started bringing anything in, they walked through and saw the systems and where they would be working. They put floor coverings down throughout the entire area they walked, installed both furnace and AC systems, secured all vents properly, left the attic cleaner than when they got there and were professional throughout the entire day. They kept me up to speed on the progress and at the end reviewed everything they did. Big shout out to the install team of Josh, Brandon and Deirous. You all represented yourselves and your organization in the most professional manor. Thank you for a job well done! I would highly recommend Conway and their team.
  • Sarah Shands rated it 1/5: We had Conway Services install 3 new HVAC systems in the spring of 2017. We had a larger unit installed as well as additional ductwork in our upstairs. Recently we noticed that the system was running nonstop and it was hot. We had Conway come out and after several days and no show techs, it was determined that we have a leak in our evaporator coil. While the tech was searching for the leak, he noticed that the ductwork was not installed properly – the holes were never cut in the insulation resulting in very limited/no air being pushed through the ducts. He explained that is why the back room never felt cool (summer) or warm (winter) and was causing our unit to run more than normal. He said his supervisor would be getting in touch with the installation manager and I would be receiving a call to schedule the repair. I still have not received a call from Conway so I called today and left a message for the installation manager, Dale.
    Now, onto the next issue – the leak in the 5 year old evaporator coil. The part is covered under warranty, but the labor is not. We have a 10 year part, 2 year labor warranty. The repair estimate I was given for labor only was $2,222. When I questioned this astronomical price, I was told that the repair would take 4-5 hours and this is the price all customers are given. Let me break that down – if it took 5 hours, that would mean more than $415/hr, 4 hours = $500/hr for only the labor!
    I reached out to a local business and was quoted $900 for the labor. That's still a lot for a 5 year old product that costs a lot to begin with, but is much better than the quote Conway gave.
    So, the moral of this story is that 1. Conway doesn't complete installation jobs, 2. They don't stand behind their work or products, 3. They will pad their prices to cover "warranty" repairs.
    They are blinded by sales, quotas, and dollars.
    Shop local where they stand behind their work and products and STAY AWAY FROM CONWAY! I will never recommend them to anyone ever again.
    You can see in the picture where the insulation was not cut to run air to the air ducts.

There has immediate availability the following day to come and provide an evaluation for a second opinion. I needed a second opinion on my apartment furnace and what was causing the strange odor I smelled after maintenance came multiple times to try to fix my heat. They even said they had contractors come, but nothing was wrong and the odor I smelled was dust burning. Ron was amazing! He called me when he was on the way and arrived at the time he stated he would. He was friendly, professional, and patient! He was able to validate my concerns that he could smell the odor, diagnose the issue, and provide me with written notes to use as I discuss this with the property manager. He also provided additional concerns noting the furnace is a fire hazard. The entire process was smooth! I would definitely recommend calling for an evaluation. The cost was very reasonable!

I ended up with frozen and busted pipes because there was no heat in the house. the day they decided to install the furnace they bombarded my cell with calls for 2 hours while I was in bed to collect a non covered payment. I will be contacting the better business bureau soon
    Paid $755 for non cover warranty and they would only replace the furnace not the A coil plus $100 for service call.
    plus the warranty which is $1400 plus for 2 years.
    New Furnace costs $1500 including the A coil and with installation
    so I gave them $2255 whereas I could have sent $1500 and saved over $700
    When they called(10 times ) started at 8 AM they gave me 0 notice and were very rude and told me that they're policy was to collect payment first before installing the unit, I called a week before that and volunteered to pay but was told by the manager that payment can be made after installation…
    I paid for the best warranty according to the regional sales person. Obviously it didn't cover punch of things one of them was the flue pipe which I was charged $755 for a simple pipe. The tech installed it 30 minutes
    They also told me they don't take online payment but when the manager was there she said they do. When she was off they told me they don't have online payment. They pressure you to cough the payment before they do repairs, Otherwise the tech will leave the house if you don't make the payment on the spot which was what happened with me. The tech left because I didn't make the payment when they called me at 8 Am
    lastly when I asked about the labor warranty they said 30 days Only
    after 30 days you will have to pay another $100 for them just to come look at it. Before you buy a warranty make sure to read the fine prints and ask about their exclusions

I was able to schedule the install quickly, the day after my unit was inspected. My unit was very old, installed when I was in the 9th grade (and I'm 43 now) lol.. and it had a severe leak. All the freon was gone so I new I needed a new one. The techs were all professional. They quickly installed the outdoor and indoor components and wifi enabled thermostat which was a great upgrade from the 30 yr old thermostat we had before. Throughout the entire install they continued to ask if we had questions. The new unit is working wonderfully. The professionalism of the guys and the high quality of their work can't be overstated. I will certainly use them again for all of my A/C and Heating needs.

  • dmg rated it 5/5: A coworker recommended Automatic when I knew I had at least 1 ruptured pipe after our big freeze in Dec. 2022. Here's how it went from start to finish:
    • I filled out their online "Get a Call Back" form and got a confirmation email.
    • Kim called, made sure she understood all the info, got me on the schedule for the next day, and let me know I'd get a text when they were on their way. They also sent an email confirming the app't.
    • 30 min into my 2-hr window, I got a text giving me the lead plumber's name and letting me know he was on his way.
    • When Dustin arrived, he greeted me by name, checked again to make sure he had all the info about the known issue, and gave me a rundown of how they'd proceed.
    • At each stage of the process, Dustin let me know what they'd found, what my options were, and what the approx cost would be for each. (He also showed me phone pics of what they were seeing so I didn't need to be a 3rd body in a space built for 1.)
    • When everything was taken care of, he walked me again through each repaired item, showed me the work, and—because I'd asked—gave me a heads-up on other items I might want to take care of soon.
    • He took payment via app, and I rcvd the itemized invoice immediately.

    Note: Accessing this house's crawlspace is NOT a fun thing, and spending a bunch of time in it is, uh, also not a fun thing. For most of this job's 3.5 hrs, 2 guys worked together in that cramped space. A lot of people would've looked at the situation and simply declined to take it on.

    Even if this had been a routine job, things couldn't have gone any better from the customer side. Much of the city had been without running water for several days because of water main breaks, and I'm sure nobody at Automatic had a holiday—but they were all super polite and took incredible care with their work. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I’ve had other plumbers come to assess both issues that I had before, and was so disappointed with their lack of knowledge regarding the problems with the actual fixtures, but Michael knew exactly what was wrong within minutes and I’m so grateful that they were able to complete the work in a timely manner. They didn’t leave a mess, which is always appreciated, and I’ll definitely call them again the next time I have a plumbing issue.

One company never called back, one guy slammed the front door on the way out, and two companies tried to sell us units they had on hand which were not big enough or energy efficient. Solace was very reasonable in cost compared to other quotes and had what we wanted. We scheduled our appointment online for December 29. They called on December 28 and asked if they could come that afternoon instead. Seth provided us with a quote and offered to install it on December 29, but we needed one day to prepare so it was installed on December 30. The installation team was very nice and polite, cleaned up after themselves, and put on booties every time they entered the house. We had a couple of questions after the job was completed so my husband went into a chat session with Solace December 31 at approximately 9:00 p.m. We didn't expect to hear anything back until after the holiday weekend, but the Manager, Mr. Monroe, emailed my husband that same evening and again January 1. This experience has been 5 STAR in every respect and during a weekend holiday period which is unheard of. We chose the right company to do business with. Many thanks to Seth in Sales, Manager Mr. Monroe, and the installation team.

My previous service company did not, just hosed down the outside (never got a full cleaning in 5 years of HVAC maintenance).

    Draylon was on time, professional and replaced a capacitor that was running low.

    He’s also addressing a ductwork issue never resolved by my previous company. Caused airflow issues for years. We were told “that’s as good as it’s going to get”.

    Long story short, Crowe earned my trust today.

    Really seems like some purchasing agent decided not to do his job and then looked to blame the tech, the customer, the 'rona..anything other than owning his lie of having the part in their warehouse but then not having it.

    Call Best Care. They are transparent about their parts requests.

    Not fake, my service was for my commercial space on Madison. I dont want my actual personal information on google. But this sort of attitude towards customers is why I m glad I didn't keep trying to deal with Russel at Choates. He uses lies when cornered on doing a sub par job.

  • hana j rated it 1/5: Bought a unit from choates in feb 2021 and months later I had issues. So I called them up in January 2022. They charge for services just to come out to see what’s going on. I’m upset as this was suppose to be a new unit. I learned the way they seem to play the game is to blame the customer so all charges and fees falls on customer. So I called a repairman from a different company to handle the issue. Then here we are in November 2022 and we’ve been 2 weeks living in the cold. I called choates again to address this once more. We agreed to have a service visit this past Saturday Nov 19. Issues with payments or extra weekend charges were NOT discussed at that time. Dispatcher or tech called early in morning way before scheduled time. They were planning on sending a technician before the agreed time and I told them I couldn’t do earlier. So now we had to wait. I had called to get an ETA and James the dispatcher called me at 2 PM saying it would be another 45 mins to an hour. That was okay. Then came 4 oclock when the tech finally came (2 hours after James’ call). The technician said he was told not to service us till we made some payment that I was told would be covered back in January under warranty. And to add to it, there would be extra weekend charges for this visit. None of this was discussed with me before the appointment. Or earlier with dispatcher. After trying to reach an understanding with James, he instead got very rude and obnoxious over the phone and just said he would cancel service and tell tech to leave. I asked for the number to reach supervisor but was told he’d call me the following Monday. I haven’t heard from anyone over this awful mess. Hoping I’ll get an email. Choates seems to work in their favor and does not care for their customers no matter how much their customers spend on their units. Of course they will say it’s the customers fault and ready to charge you left and right. My guess is they didn’t sell me a new or good unit. Customer service is terrible. James the dispatcher was very rude and obnoxious. The unit they sold me wasn’t cheap either, especially for me being a recently widowed woman and single mom. Gonna try calling Conway or some other competitor in hopes of at least better service!
