Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning is a family-owned business that has been providing quality heating and air conditioning services to the Seattle area for over 50 years. They are known for their customer service and for their commitment to providing their customers with the best possible experience. They offer a variety of services, including installation, repair, and maintenance, and they have a team of experienced and certified technicians who are always available to help.

Sarah Wolf rated it 1/5: We hired Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning in 2/3/21 to install three Carrier ductless mini split units and heat pump for $16,000. We had annual maintenance by Brennan done in February 2022 to keep our labor and parts 5 year warranty valid.

On 11/27/22, our unit completely failed. With temperature lows between 27 and 39 degrees, we immediately called Brennan and left a message with their answering service asking for a service provider to come out as soon as possible. We were in an emergency situation with no heat, freezing temperatures, and two small children. After calling and leaving a voicemail for their service department on 11/27 we received a call back around 8:30 PM on 11/28 to schedule us for a “service technician to come take a look” 15 days later on 12/13. When asked Brennan what we were supposed to do for the next two weeks without heat the person on the phone didn’t reply and hung up.

We continued calling and leaving message after message to try and get in touch with a service provider to get some clarity on why it would take two weeks to get to us when nine days later on 12/5 we finally were able to talk to a member of their service department. On 12/5, a member of their service department reiterated they could not send anyone out to help us until 12/13, another 8 days later. I reconfirmed our situation – that we had no heat at all, we have two small children, that our unit was less than 2 years old with annual maintenance completed by Brennan, and that the temperatures in our home were in the 50s and it was uninhabitable and asked them to please help us.

The service department member said they had staffing issues and refused to come out any earlier. He said if it were him and his family, he’d hire another company to help service the unit and get the heat working faster and then try and get Brennan to pay us back.

So, that’s exactly what we did. We hired another HVAC company to come out (and they did in less than 36 hours) and it turned out that Brennan had used a faulty 3rd party flare part not provided or recommended by Carrier (we confirmed this directly with Carrier) for the installation on our heat pump unit which failed and caused a major refrigerant leak rendering the heat pump useless and causing its failure (see attached photo, damaged flare in center). The HVAC company we hired said Brennan’s installation was “shoddy and cut corners in several places likely to speed up the installation so they could move onto the next install.”

Almost $3,000 later and 15 days without heat in freezing temperatures, we got our unit fixed and up and running again. We went back to Brennan and asked them to pay for the repairs to our almost new unit which was covered under warranty and they refused. We provided all the documentation to show them what needing fixing and they told us “you should have let us come out and fix it ourselves” as if we had not called them several times a day for 15 days asking them to do just that. Brennan expected us to patiently freeze in our own home until they decided it was a good time for them to fix their own mistake. Our trust in them to do any professional work on our unit is completely gone.

Because they refused to pay, we now we are heading to small claims court. I would never, ever, recommend this company. They left us without heat in the middle of winter, prioritizing new revenue and new installations (which we saw and documented when we were driving around town, Brennan trucks installing new heat pumps in unoccupied, partially completed, new housing) while we waited for a call back.

This is beyond a staffing issue, it is a poor quality workmanship and poor customer service issue. I hope that by reading this review it will save you from making the same mistake we did in trusting Brennan to do a quality installation and to stand behind their work with their 5-year parts and labor guarantee that boasts to, “Simply call our award-winning service department. Our service technicians are on stand-by, ready and willing.”

  • Red Wine Please rated it 5/5: The Brennan Heating and AC team was composed of 4 workers: Installer, HVAC technician, electrician, and a helper. They took out the 30 years old electric air handler and heat pump and installed a new Lennox system. One challenge they had was to connect the existing duct work to the new system. They struggled but persevered. I have to commend the installer for how he handled the frustrating task of connecting the unit. The electrician ensured we were up to code by installing an outlet accessible to the heat pump. The technician informed me that the hole through the foundation for the pipes from the heat pump to the air handler was not large enough to accommodate foam insulation. But it wasn’t a significant heat loss. The helper was attentive to the other’s needs. Standing by and stepping in to assist when needed. They worked as a coordinated team which was satisfying to watch. They cleaned up the debris and scraps and took the old dirty system away. Scheduled in April is an air duct cleaning. The system is quiet and heating well. The COSTCO cash card coming in a couple weeks is a plus.
  • Jason Reed rated it 2/5: Had a mini split installed on 4/1. Installers hands down great workers and people! Wife even made them lunch. They were a pleasure and professional and clean.

After not getting an invoice for a month I followed up with the company to get a status. I had this project financed and the bank got their invoice and submitted payment.

During my call with the office I let them know that I still didn’t have the mechanical permit and the inspection had yet to be completed. Additionally since working with the team on their proposal and the contract I have been asking to get a service contract set up to stay in compliance with the warranty. Still nothing.

Yesterday I leaned that the finance short paid them by $90. I was called and told I needed to pay now and what CC would I like to use.

I said oh thanks for calling could you please tell me the status for the mechanical permit/inspection as no permit was sent with the package and also let me know about service and a service contract.

No information was made. An email was sent because I do not want to pay the $90 until the project is completed and closed out with the final inspection.

Updates will be done as this project gets completed and the company gets their final $90. Project finished and closed out I will happily pay.

Overall other than installation not a good experience and will be reaching out to Costco!

  • Erica Villanueva rated it 1/5: We had our furnace replaced and ac installed on Wednesday the 27th. Worked fine for one day and completely stopped working by the 29th. I called multiple numbers multiple times and FINALLY got ahold of someone and they told me that the earliest they could send someone to look at it would be the following Monday! They said that was after they did some shifting around because if they didn’t it would have been weeks…. Completely unacceptable in my opinion! This company should be ashamed of themselves. It’s 100 degrees outside and it was becoming unsafe for our 16 month old child and 3 large dogs. My husband came across Hales. The operator was amazing bending over backwards to get us squeezed in with a tech. The tech was at our house within 20 mins, issue diagnosed in 5 and resolved the issues CAUSED by Brennan’s in 15!

    I DO NOT RECOMMEND BRENNAN’S!
Sincerely an extremely dissatisfied veteran family.

  • Ishita Kapur rated it 1/5: Got furnace serviced at the end of December; never got the promised overview of what the tech did. Just the invoice. Few days later it broke down and stopped working. I called multiple numbers, staff was unresponsive and hard to reach. They finally sent out another tech who resolved the issue temporarily but furnace started acting up again. I called a different hvac company to investigate and they discovered that the igniter switch had been covered up by furnace tape, which was not helping with furnace operation and was a safety hazard. They also left papers on top of the furnace vent, not safe. I ultimately had my furnace replaced, but Brennan lost my business there because of doing such a poor job with basic maintenance. Now waiting to see if customer service will call me back to compensate for these issues.

If you're looking for a plumbing, heating, or cooling company in the Seattle area, Fox Plumbing is a great option. You can expect quality workmanship, competitive pricing, and great customer service.

Gerardo c rated it 1/5: I scheduled an appointment with Fox Plumbing, Heating & Cooling to fix my mini split system which was leaking water. It took around 2 weeks to get a tech to come out. The tech arrived and unclogged my condensate line (a pretty routine service from what I understand), they seemed friendly and professional. Everything seemed good to go and the tech left.

However, barely an hour after the tech left, my A/C started leaking again. I called Fox plumbing a total of 3 times over two days, each time asking that someone come back ASAP to finish the repair I had already paid them to do. Every time the person on the line assured me I would get a callback from someone very soon, yet that call never materialized.

Finally, 3 days after the initial service I receive a voicemail asking if I still needed service. At this point I'm not even sure why they bothered calling back as there was no way I would use them again.

Overall I would not recommend Fox Plumbing, Heating & Cooling because the follow up when something goes wrong with their service is abysmal. I expected a prompt response given the circumstances.

  • Christopher Radek rated it 5/5: Fox plumbing performed a Mitsubishi 3-head ductless mini-split installation for our home. I called them near the end of October and they were incredibly prompt with scheduling a walkthrough and installation. They were even able to do a ceiling-mounted unit in one of the rooms.

The installation looks great and the crew was friendly and happy to answer any questions I had about the units. Going into winter I can’t fairly judge the units themselves yet, but would recommend Gavin, Daniel, Terrin, Tibi, Brady and the rest of the crew!

  • Alexa Bartlett rated it 5/5: We had a great experience with Fox Heating & Plumbing! Our old 1970s furnace gave out just before New Years, and their team quickly got us 7 estimates to compare of different equipment and installation packages, and within a week we had our new furnace installed and running great. Every person I worked with (Kobe, Gavin, and Michael) and the phone support was very professional and answered all questions I had. They were communicative, on time, and always left a clean work space. I’ll definitely use them again when we need, and recommend their services!
  • nancy tuksaudom rated it 5/5: Sebastian arrived on time with a professional and friendly attitude. He diagnosed the problem with my furnace, repaired it, and gave it a thorough cleaning/repair. The price was very reasonable compared with other companies I have hired. Best of all was Sebastian‘s positive attitude and pleasant demeanor. Also, Fox communicated well with me from the time I made the appointment to once the job was completed. I would definitely hire them again.
  • Judy Licastro rated it 5/5: Our 40 year old furnace finally pooped out during one of our coldest days! Did some research and found Fox Plumbing and Heating Co. They had really good reviews. They came out that day looked at fixing it, not fixable. Scheduled a new furnace install. Within a week we had a new furnace and warmth. Sebastián followed through on everything he told us he would do. He even helped Daniel with the install because he told us it would be done on that day. They were both wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable. Bottom line I would call them again and highly recommend them.

Ann Marrs rated it 5/5: Would highly recommend!!. The system
only allows for a 5 star rating but this team deserves at least 10 stars. The installation team: Steve, Dex and Thomas were here for a two day furnace/heat pump installation and were absolutely phenomenal! They were super knowledgeable and explained ever step of the process. Our house has some unique quirks, but nothing phased them. The electrician team: Joe and Zack arrived at just the right time to do all the electrical prep to ensure day two was ready for completion. They were awesome as well and worked late to be sure Steve’s team could be ready for the completion work the next day.
Great team, great experience and we highly recommend Greenwood!

  • Eric Stobin rated it 5/5: For the past 2 days, we received excellent work from Taylor and Jordan. Both of these employees had an exceptional attitude, were great communicators, showed up on time with a willingness not just to get the job done, but to get it done right. We very much enjoyed having both of these 2 hardworking men at our home. They were professional, honest, experienced and were excellent at what they did. I was so impressed by their hard word and dedication to doing a great job for us. Granted a new AC and Furnace is very expensive, but we strongly feel like this was money well spent and we received great value for our money. Both Jordan and Taylor were an absolute pleasure to have around and they worked extremely hard and are very good having the skills to install a very complex system. I was very impressed with both men and they did an outstanding job. Thanks, guys!
  • J Owen rated it 5/5: Jared and Matthew were very professional, fast and clean. I appreciate the work they did. Matthew was really patient with me while I downloaded the app and he explained step-by-step how to connect to my furnace so that I can control the temperature with my phone. This business is reliable and honest. Today the crew that were originally coming over changed at the last minute and someone called to let me know different people would arrive and when to expect them. I was glad to be kept in the loop. This has been an all around great experience – which is saying something since I had to buy a new furnace and they are not cheap. But I’m pleased with the service I received and cannot recommend them highly enough.

  • Molly B Van Nostrand rated it 5/5: 1 of 3 bids, not the lowest, but used Trane which is the highest rated brand in Consumer Reports, and Greenwood had great ratings. They worked with me a little in the price, brought it a little closer to my #2 choice, and I went with them.

They showed up on time, from the estimate appointment to the install, finished and cleaned up ahead of schedule, were all professional and nice.

We LOVE our new system, quiet, heats the house much quicker than the old system and we are very happy! Thank you Greenwood!

  • Martin rated it 1/5: Update. They came and “fixed” it and now a few weeks later here we are again with a broken unit. Something is very wrong now and the interior unit is frozen over. Avoid this company at all costs!

    *****

Just spent $20K with them on all new heating/AC only to have it stop working yesterday. Called the emergency line, messaged them on the online chat and even directly texted the sales person who was happy to respond to us while he was selling it to us last month but silent last night. Thank goodness for All Star Heating and Air who actually did call us back and was able to troubleshoot a few things over the phone and get things working again. Sounds like it was a bad installation. We’ve used Greenwood for years now in multiple homes and even have a service contract with them. This is the first time we’ve had such a terrible experience with them. Very disappointed in what we experienced and to see that they have gone downhill so badly.

W William rated it 5/5: Trane gas furnace installed and working flawlessly for about 5 yrs
Called in for replacement filter today as I am able to install. Very nice staff person, Victoria helped me to arrange pickup/payment at the Kenyon store.
Very pleasant, efficient and flexible at meeting my expectations. Very nice!

  • Sheena P rated it 5/5: The Evergreen technician, Will, who came out to assess was great and helpful in quickly discovering my furnace issues and giving me solutions. Appreciated that he was willing to give helpful advice on how to replace the old thermostat myself since that was the only issue. If I need anything else in future I'd reach out to them again!
  • Nancy Roberts rated it 5/5: Technician was in touch with me about arrival time. He was respectful and professional and inspired confidence. He delivered bad news with empathy and understanding and clearly outlined possible solutions and the timeline for which I could expect further communication.

I trusted him. The diagnosis fee was reasonable and that fee will be applied to a needed new furnace. He clearly explained financing options and general pros & cons of different heating systems.

    I would highly recommend.

  • Valarie Valarie rated it 5/5: Had to call for an emergency appointment, we had no heat. Vincent call promptly after I called the emergency line. He came right out in the timeframe he said. Got the old furnace back up and running. I can't say enough good things about Evergreen Heating. Top notch, best of the best. Vincent was truly the best tech we have ever had in our home… and we are old. 5 stars all the way.
  • James Webster rated it 5/5: Had Evergreen replace our gas furnace with new high efficiency Heat pump to go with our solar power. We got quotes from 6 different companies in the area. Evergreen was not the lowest, but they seemed to be very knowledgeable and clear with their quotes (some gave of dozens of quotes, some just gave us a number with no details). They were also very quick and VERY good with communications (unlike some other contractors we had). They guys that came out to do the installation did a great job walking us through the project and made a suggestion after inspecting the space for a change to install that made perfect sense and made the install look even better. They completed the project on time and were great with inspection (soft fail that they addressed same day and got inspector to approve). Overall of all the projects we've done recently, the experience with Evergreen was the best. We've been very happy with the unit keeping our house both cool and warm.

  • Elissa Emde rated it 5/5: Randy the technician came to our house to inspect our furnace, it had a fan clicking on often which we were not used to.
Randy ran the furnace and inspected it saying it looks like it is running great, and explained that the fan might have been clicking on to cool the burner after a long cycle.
He was thoughtful, kind and thorough.
I would recommend Glendale heating- everyone from the scheduling person to technician was very nice to work with.

  • Phillip Raymond rated it 5/5: Glendale has provided my household with great service for over 21 years. In fact I can't recall a company that has provided better service. Until a couple months ago Glendale delivered our heating oil for our oil furnace, yearly tune-ups and occasional maintenance. They were always available on the phone and promptly provided what was needed. The service people on the phone and in person were considerate and courteous. Last autumn we decided to install mini split heat pumps for a few rooms, we would still need the central oil furnace. But when the Glendale installers arrived for installation, they suggested we consider a central heat pump system even though with the central system we no longer would need oil deliveries. So they packed up the mini split pumps and applied our payment to the central system. The installation was on time and smooth.
  • Chbears91 Bears9 rated it 5/5: Glendale Heating & Air was by far the best company I have dealt with in a very long time! Everything from scheduling to the service day! Max was our tech and he sure was polite, knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all, professional! I would highly recommend!
  • amy rated it 5/5: We purchased our home in Kent back in 2019 and really wanted to have AC installed after the large heat waves that hit Washington the last few summers. We got 3 quotes and Glendale was priced right in the middle of their competitors and seemed very knowledgeable when giving the quote. They were also the company listed on my furnace, and that has been running like a champ for 23 years so figure they do good work! And since they were already doing the AC, I asked them to replace the furnace anyways just since it was getting old and they were already here. I was not disappointed. Riley and Ray did great clean work on the two day job. They communicated every step of the way and asked questions on my preferences. They were by the books, pulling needed permits, etc to do the job right. I highly recommend Glendale heating!

The price was right, the service top notch, the replacement installation was quick (less than half a day) and the guys left our home as clean as the way they found it. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Olson to all of our friends and to you too!

Sydney Day rated it 5/5: Go Green has been awesome!! We had our A/C and heating done back in November of 2021 and noticed this summer that it was making a weird noise. They sent out Jesse who promptly located the issue and planned to solve it. The unit had been leaking refrigerant and not only did he too it off once, but once he was scheduled to come back for the final fix, he topped it off again before coming out to make sure we’d make it through July’s heat wave. Jesse was so professional and helpful, and made the issue go away quickly! We definitely recommend Go Green and specifically Jesse!

  • Phecda Louie rated it 5/5: What can I say, I’m throughly impressed by the great service Jeremy and the Go Green Heating & Air Conditioning team has provided. And would recommend their services to any family and friend, with no hesitation.

With the crazy heat waves in Seattle these last few summers we decided to hire Go Green to help with installing a Mini-Split system to provide A/C in our living room and master bed room on a positive recommendation from our neighbors

Jeremy initially came out last year to help us with assessing our needs and provided a detailed quote with clear breakdown on parts, labor, permits, electrical install, and warranties. They were also able to pass down rebates from the city and manufacture which made us feel great about the pricing.

After booking the install in early Jun it took Go Green about 1.5 months to get installers out in mid Jul. Gavin was the onsite team lead, he was professional, clearly walked us through the install process and expectations, while following up on a few tweaks we had asked for throughout the install process. One first day they installed all the interior units, and on the second day they connected up all the electrical wiring and got the units working.

One hiccup that ended up being the highlight of our experience with Go Green was their ownership around a mistake the electrical subcontractors made. On the second day the electrical subcontractors drilled six larger 6” whole around our main electrical breaker. We had not expected this level of work on our home, and was disappointed to find out that the electrician wouldn’t cover the drywall repairs. However Jeremy stepped up and offer to fix the drywall issues at no cost to us. Over 6 days they came out and got our home fixed back its original state with texturing, primer and paint matching, all with clear communications throughout.

If there was an option to give 6-star review I would totally have provided.

  • Pat Cavit (Tivac) rated it 5/5: We hired Go-Green to install a Mitsubishi system consisting of a wall-mounted outdoor compressor, attic heat exchanger, and ducting and vents throughout our house. During the project Mark, Kelli, Jeremy, and Abel from Go-Green were communicative, and extremely knowledgeable. Jeremy in particular was excellent and helped us narrow down on the right system type, system sizing, and several other aspects of the project.

Once the project started the Go-Green employees were very nice. There were some issues during the install: the wrong hardware showed up originally, a worker slipped and put their hand through the ceiling, and originally the coolant lines weren't routed where we had asked for. But every single issue was corrected quickly and to our satisfaction. Their installation foreman Abel was excellent, he truly cared about the quality of the work and paid attention to the details once he arrived at our job.

Mark Strok is the owner and we chatted several times on the phone throughout the install. He really impressed us with his responsiveness, kindness, and willingness to make sure things were correct and we were happy. We ended up with a system we love and a warm house!

  • Stage Struck rated it 5/5: Go Green installed a mini split in my home. They listened to my needs and made adjustments. After a few months I asked that the outside pump be moved to a different location, and the change was done quickly and efficiently. The owner/manager Mark was easy to reach and communication was respectful and helpful.
This company was one of the most reasonably priced in Seattle for a mini-split system. I appreciated that and the work that was done.

  • Brian Richardson rated it 5/5: After literally spending 2 years over the pandemic trying to find an HVAC contractor to show up at our 3 story townhouse, give us an actionable estimate, and complete the work to install a mini-split system to cool our hothouse down, Go-Green did all of this, this summer, exactly when they said they'd do it, with the equipment they quoted for us, at exactly the price they said they could get for us (which was quite reasonable for what we wanted).
Go-Green runs a tight ship. They communicate very well with their customers, taking whatever time is needed to both do the job to the customer's spec as well as explain how to use and maintain the installed equipment. ALL of the people we worked with at Go-Green were customer-first, friendly, confident, and honest with us about the work and how they were going to go about it. The system they installed is AMAZING, and is a game-changer for us — worth every penny. Check the photos — the units look tiny, but they are both MIGHTY and QUIET. The install could not have been done more properly than it was, and with zero compaints from their awesome installers who had to climb to ridiculous heights both inside our house to get the job done.
