Rochelle rated it 1/5: I just had a $400 pair of Margiela jeans ruined by a terrible hem job. I clearly asked that the original hem detail be left in tact and raised a few inches to shorten the inseam. I tried the jeans on and the tailor measured it out. The bottom was completely cut off and discarded leaving a makeshift hem with seams that are crooked. The management made no attempt to ensure customer satisfaction and I am left with a pair of pants that look completely unfinished. Why would any professional destroy a pair of pants like this?!

  • Shahid Khan rated it 5/5: Mohammad at the front desk was quite helpful and the staff overall have been courteous and good every time I've been there.

My clothes come back timely and in great condition and they managed to also piece back together a suit jacket that had torn saving me a lot of money.

  • Simoene Johnson rated it 1/5: I put a $100 dress from banana republic in the cleansers that I purchased a week ago! Only wore once! It’s now ripped! And because I was in a hurry to get back to work I didn’t check before I left! I’m never going back’ they stuffed it between clothes so I wouldn’t notice! If you go there PLEASE check your clothes! I’d rather pay more than less now if it saves me from destroying my nice clothes! Please check your clothes before you leave. Sad that you can’t trust a business to provide a service they offer that you paid for! I put the dress in on 11.1.21 right before 8am… came back on 11.2.21 around 1pm to grab my clothes and I’m now home by 5:pm to hang my clothes up. So there is no way they could even say I wore it to do this myself. I literally just took the clothes out the car from the bag after work.

Just came to update my horrible experience.. I was contacted by the owner Bret the following day after positing this. He directed me to take it back and tell them he sent me and they would see what they could do and run the cameras as well. I did so about 4 days later. A staff member took my items and number and told me someone would contact me that day. . No one ever contacted me. I go back two days later and I speak to Jeff and he’s tries to contact the owner as well. Jeff takes my dress back again and tells me someone will be contacting me that day. No one contacted me. Now today the 15th I called because I am furious. At this point I’ve done my part so when are they going to do theirs? Jeff gets on the phone and asked me if I filled out a white ticket. I responded “no because when I was there you never directed me to do so”… so he then proceeds to tell me they are busy right now and someone will call me back. UNACCEPTABLE! I am a customer as well that paid my money and received damaged items. Honestly this cannot get any worse or unprofessional than this! As a manager myself this is HORRIBLE customer service and the employees are clearly incompetent at this point.

  • Ghazaul Dezfuli rated it 1/5: They lost 3 of my tailor made mens shirts claiming it got mixed in another order. They also damaged another. As they tell me this, they are giving another customer the wrong item of clothing. Owner is unresponsive. Staff just sit around and have no clue what to do. I will file a claim and never set foot here again. Trust me go pay more and get a better service elsewhere. There is a reaon they are so cheap…. if you care about your clothes go elsewhere.
  • Connor Kinsella rated it 1/5: While they are fast, ALWAYS make sure what you’re getting back are your clothes. They mixed up my best jacket and pants with someone else’s twice and haven’t provided compensation or explanation.

  • Elliott Simpson rated it 5/5: I haven't used a laundromat in eons so needless to say I wasn't sure what to expect. This place is SPOTLESS. The attendant is very kind and is constantly cleaning or helping customers. Most of the machines are operational. Perfect experience.
  • Charlotte Alexander rated it 5/5: Really big laundromat. Very clean with lots of machines. Comfortable places to wait for your wash, we were pleased we found it on our visit to DC!
  • Toni Smith rated it 4/5: 1st time here. The place is very clean 90% of the washer and dryers work. The attendant was also helpful. And they have 4 size machines ranging in prices from $2.50 up to $6.50. Will come back.
  • Queen Ampleness rated it 2/5: This laundromat robs people of their money. As you can see, each of these dryers are set at different temperatures. This makes it so that you'll have to spend more money to dry your clothes because 1 dryer is hotter than the other. + The bottom dryers are set 20° lower than the top dryer with most of these dryers & the attendant told me, "No one hardly ever uses the bottom dryers & that's why they're set at a lower temperature.

I put 45 minutes each on my 7 dryers. 48 Minutes on 1 dryer costs $2.00. If we're rounding up to the nearest dollar, I spent about $14.00 bucks to dry. I told the lady to put either more heat or more time on my clothes because it's not fair that I've spent damn near $60.00 bucks to do laundry & my clothes aren't dry. The attendant also tried to tell me, "You have too many clothes in the dryer." I have 7 dryers because I split everything up so that it'll get dry faster.

Abdelkarim Fayed rated it 4/5: Plenty of washers & dryers
Parking space available.
Machines are moderately priced

Most relevant reviews:

  • Anastasia Nesterova rated it 4/5: Good service for good money. This laundry is just for refreshing you clothes, for better cleaning you should go to chemical cleanings. The process of washing takes 23 minutes and for drying – 33 minutes. There are a lot of people. Here you can buy different stuff for washing and drying. People here are trying to sell you something (sweets, chocolate etc)
  • Dacia Tett rated it 4/5: I love it if you don’t mind the folks that hang around here they mind their business for the most part !!! The wash and fold service is cheap and they do a wonderful job!!!! please don’t be fooled by the outside appearance this place is a real jewel 💎
  • Abdelkarim Fayed rated it 4/5: Plenty of washers & dryers
    Parking space available.
    Machines are moderately priced
  • O'Donna “Boochie Daniels” Daniels rated it 2/5: This laundry mat has been here for decades. It very small has the laundymat vibe however its not a black owned business anymore its mass of clients are black. Be careful though because if you are not used to the typical urban 5 star laundry mat this might not be the place for you thats why i gave it 2stars. The spot is really clean smells good. But all of the inactive equipment in there should have been removed 25 years ago when it last stopped working..(been going here for years) .. PS the Spanish population always hassle Americans about what they did or didn't do but they have a rodent infestation… And a huge mold problem from the overbearing machine. Smells good but give you major bronchitis and asthma . I vote they replace the equipment
  • shanta walker rated it 1/5: Very rude workers were painting while I was there washing and a lot of other customers I have paint on my clothes and I was treated with so much disrespect when I brought it to their attention why are the painting while so many people dealing with their clothes I’m trying to contact management!!!

The reviews highlight the cleanliness of the facility and the friendly staff, and many people appreciate the convenient location. The price is also very reasonable, and people generally seem to be very happy with the overall experience.

Tris Verse rated it 2/5: They are very much sticklers for you wearing masks in this establishment. Yes, even in 2023. While I respect this business decision, it really makes guests feel uncomfortable in this already small laundromat. Also, the prices are exuberantly high. To dry, .25 gets you 8 minutes of dry time. Literally no time at all! And then they micro manage you doing your laundry, tragic.

Most relevant reviews:

  • Denise From DC rated it 5/5: This is a great laundromat. We had an abundance of accumulated laundry and were able to get it into two of the largest washers and one medium. The gentleman working here was helpful in getting us started. I will be returning with some of my largest quilts and blankets.
    Machines take quarters
    Change machine can take $ 1, 5, 10 & 20 bills
Detergent $1.00 per box (large machine needs 2)
Largest machine $9 per load (full black garbage bag)
    Medium machine $6 per load
    Small machine $3.25 per load
    Dryers about $3-4 per load

Vending machine with tea, soda, snacks

  • James M rated it 5/5: This place is great. Was staying in a hotel near union station and took a scooter to come wash a large load of clothes. Place opened at 8am, is super clean, has a friendly attendant on duty. Small vending machine for snacks, and laundry soap for a buck (tide). Has a couple benches to sit outside or you can sit inside. They have 18 regular washers ($3.25), 6 larger washers ($6.00) and 3 super huge washers ($9.00). Then 16 large dryers (.25) and 4 super huge dryers (.50) that run for 6 minutes and work very well, my large load of clothes fit in the $3.25 washer and dried for .75 completely. With the dollar box of soap I spent 5 bucks. The place is safe and in a good neighborhood. While they appear to have parking on the street it is residential parking no store parking lot. Place is great.
  • D. Miller rated it 5/5: I give this laundromat 5 ⭐️ because of Mr. Daniel 😃. Mr. Daniel isn’t the owner but he works here and he is the best! He is friendly, helpful and he has a positive air about him. My 150 FL OZ of Tide detergent had a hole in it and it was leaking detergent. I had to transfer the detergent to another container and I didn’t want to make a mess everywhere so Mr. Daniel swooped in and told me not to worry about it and he cleaned it all up with no complaints. The man that owns the place will really press you about wearing a face mask when you come in. He isn’t very friendly and gave me attitude when I asked if he could unlock the bathroom for me. The laundromat is small but it is clean. The washer machines are $3.25 and the dryers are .25 for six minutes. There is a changer in the laundromat to get your quarters. There is convenience store right across the street with an ATM inside and it’s located in a very nice neighborhood in Northeast. You see a lot of people out walking their dogs when the weather is nice. Overall it’s a nice place to do your laundry in clean machines.
  • Ryan J rated it 2/5: Rude attitude attendant. Other than that it’s fine as far as the washing and drying goes. No ATM If you only have big bills. Closes early at 8:30pm. Still had to wear a mask on Sept 2022 which I wasn’t expecting so also got a rude mention about that like whoops I honestly didn’t see a sign on the door because I didn’t think it was a thing anymore.

Each time the clothes smell great, are folded better than I could ever fold them, quickly gotten them back to me, and their responsive service is top notch. You won’t be disappointed.
  • Marjorie Fields Harris rated it 5/5: Do you remember laundry day when you were young? You would spend time chatting with family members while folding clean clothes warm from the dryer. You started the week feeling good because there’s pride in cleanliness. This is the same care and love that the ladies and workers at American Mega Laundromat put into caring for your clothes. I highly recommend trying their drop-off service. I’ve trusted clothes and linens to them and they never disappoint. Well done!

  • Monica G rated it 5/5: Absolutely fantastic! Their wash and fold service saves me SO much time and hassle, and only costs a bit more than doing paid laundry in my building would cost me. They are courteous, professional and the clothes come back folded so perfectly you'll never want to do your own laundry again!
They do offer a Free and Clear option for folks with sensitivities to scent or dye, which I highly recommend.
  • Keenan Forbes rated it 5/5: Very kind lady and man who answered the phone. I requested my wash and fold to be ready at 3:00pm and they called to tell me it was ready at that time. The lady also helped me take laundry to my car. Great service highly recommend.

Looking for a laundromat in DC? Check out Spring Laundromat! Customers say it's clean, well-lit, and reasonably priced. Some even say it's the best laundromat they've been to in the city.

Malchik Robles rated it 4/5: I've come to this laundromat on three separate occasions, and I haven't had any issues washing or drying my clothes. I've driven past this place is are before, but I've never had the need to actually wash clothes here until my recent move. That being said, I don't have a ton of experience with other laundromat locations. In fact I've only been to one other. I've noticed only a few of the machines out of order, but by and large, everything seems to be functioning and clean. Even though I would rather spend my time doing something else, washing clothes is part of life, it's a job that needs to get done.

  • Alex Mitchell rated it 2/5: If a dryer isn't out of order chances are someone has left their clothes in there for a half hour or so after they've been dried rendering the whole process far more annoying than it needs to be. When you manage to get a dryer will your clothes be dry? Well flip a coin. Depending on your dryer your clothes could be scalding hot or still damp. Points I guess for convenience of location and decent prices on the vending machine.
  • Joshua Havard rated it 2/5: It’s a laundromat, yep. Outside the building, trash is everywhere. Owners don’t care, I don’t care. Inside the washers and dryers work and take quarters (old school!) Easy to break a $20 or $10, but no idea what the guy behind the bulletproof plexiglass said. Every few minutes a guy runs in selling something stolen: socks, sneakers, headphones, etc. headphones work well! Seen a few drug deals done outside, business is thriving! A must visit if touring DC!
  • Dean S. rated it 2/5: It’s a laundromat in the hood. Expect hood service. Most machines are old, kinda looks like the owners bought them 2nd hand. I never seen dryer windows that look as faded as theirs.

I tried to break some bills with the owner and I couldn’t understand what he was saying due to his mask and plexiglass he was behind. He was yelling at me before I fully understood what he was saying.

We were just visiting and needed our clothes cleaned in the evening time. This area is hood. And my local laundromat that use a few times a week has homeless people hanging out around it and sleeping outside of it still doesn’t compare to this place.

They didn’t have any crackheads or sketchy stuff going on in there. But the area that it is in is not a place a tourist that is NOT STREET SMART would want to be caught in.

  • Lawrence U Mbeh rated it 1/5: Here, they don't clean the dryer vent., 6am I could see lot of mold on vent, I ask the Amigo working why they don't clean , he said he just clean annoyingly. I recommend u Wash just ur floor mate here please

Danielle Bush rated it 1/5: Horrible experience here. This place ruined my shirt by marking it for wash when it clearly stated DO NOT WASH. The owner admitted fault and I was told I would not be reimbursed fully for my $300.00 Robert Graham shirt. The owner low balled me a 50 lousy bucks, not even half the value (which I provided proof of).. He
actually said their policy is to refund up
to $25.00. Please don’t ever use this place if you value your clothes. I’m so upset because this was my first experience using the dry cleaners. Never again.

Most relevant reviews:

  • Nancy Munn rated it 5/5: Arrived a bit frazzled after washing machine adventures I did not want. This laundromat is clean and quiet, has WiFi and a place to charge my phone. And it got better – the manager is friendly and helpful. DC is a good place.
  • Susan L. rated it 5/5: SIMPLY AMAZING SERVICE 🤩🧺🧼!! The manager was extremely helpful, friendly and compassionate. In fact, they went out of their way to help me get some quarters and showed me how to operate the machines. This is how service should be, compassionate and empathetic. The machines work well and get the job done in less than hour. Thank you Cardozo-Shaw Laundromat! 💙🧺🧼
  • Juan Tafur rated it 3/5: The place it’s not the best, but it’s the only one in the zone, not many washers, but it has a lot of dryers.
  • Greg G rated it 3/5: Agree that there are only about 8-9 washers operational. Plenty of dryers. Eight or hood 50/50. I felt safe a make in the middle of the day but not sure I would venture there as a female at dark.

Angel Harris rated it 1/5: The coin machine does not work. However, the clerk can provide you with the change you may need—it is small and smells like cigarette smoke. I noticed that the washing machine does not spin the excess water off your clothes, so you have to spend more on drying. There are only two jumbo machines at $5.75 each. I also used three of the $2.50 machine, and I could squeeze the water out of my things also.

  • C Brown rated it 4/5: This is a compact laundry. They have competitive pricing and the dryers are at an appropriate heating level. The only issue is some of washers don't readily accept coins; however when this occurs an employee is always present to assist.

  • Sarah D rated it 1/5: Small but efficient. I had to edit my review here because I want to inform anyone that is thinking about using this Laundry Mat that some of my clothes were stolen I put my clothes in the dryer and decided to go to the corner store I did not fold my clothes after drying them so when I got home I started taking them out to fold and realized I was missing some items, so I no longer recommend this place if you can help it go somewhere else. I know these people are not there to watch your clothes but this place is too small for one of the people that work there not to notice that, they notice everything else.
  • Donta Hensley rated it 1/5: This laundromat lost my business. When I walked in the front door today, instantly I smelled cigarettes smoke while facing a no-smoking sign placed on the back wall. The receptionist started selling single(s) / cigarette to non-washers and washers. I am down.
