Thomas Fick rated it 2/5: I had a mixed experience while working with Certapro. Generally I went with a larger company expecting higher quality and customer service. I got good customer service during the planning phase however the execution was poor.

Quoting process: Quoting process was fine however a bit slow. We wanted a few different options quotes out which wasn’t a problem however it as generally a couple of days turn around.

Color selection: Certapro provided a color consultant that was excellent, couldn’t of been better and was very happy with this service.

Day of execution: This is where things fall apart for me. It was impossible to get a clear picture of when the crew was going to be there. I was told Monday and then ultimately they showed up on Thursday… if I needed to take off work to be present (which turned out to be necessary ) I would of had to take off the entire week.

Power washing was done almost a week ahead of time by the crew manager which was fine. On the day of however the crew manager was not there. The crew (who were very nice) did not speak English well and were apparently on their own and had to call when I asked about anything. The crew were in unmarked cars and clothes, it wasn’t clear at all they were working for Certapro.

This turned out to be a huge problem as several details were never effectively communicated to the crew. For me this was two big areas, 1 was the addition of some areas that needed to be painted, 2 was the desire for exterior caulking to be performed. The first was handled after I noticed they had not been done, the second was extremely difficult to communicate. While some caulking was done, unless I pointed it out it was not caulked. Note this is something I had directly added to the quote. Additionally any caulking that was done was done post painting, three was no cleanup of damaged caulk or smoothing of areas with caulk before paint. Do not expect your house exterior to be caulked if working with this company.

Quality: “2 coats” are applied however these are done at essentially the same time, meaning in reality only 1 thick coat is applied. The paint was thin in areas as a result, and the crew seemed worried about using too much paint. In other areas there were huge drips, were taking on my garage door trim where it was vet obvious. the ape work was quick and not very precise leaving some weird transitions. And finally paint spots were left on my concrete when the crew left.

Final impression:

Not impressed with this company, certain aspects were good but the final execution was poor. Go with a local small company that will care about your business more. This company was the equivalent of hiring a cheap handyman with an expensive premium.

It was about a 2000 square-foot job but we weren’t going to close on the home for several weeks. I called and scheduled a zoom appointment and the only time they had available was at 8 AM several days later and so I reworked my schedule to be available. Late the night before I received a text from the person I was to meet with (Dan) asking to walk me through the property. When I explained we wouldn’t be closing on our new home for several weeks – but I had lots of pictures and would still like to discuss the project – he would not meet with me and stopped responding to my texts. I never did receive the link for the zoom the next morning. I called the office to find out what was going on and the lady who answered my call was very apologetic and promised to get to the bottom of it and call me back right away. She never did. They lost out on a potential $3000 job – or more. If they can’t even respond to a simple email or text asking for a quote, I definitely don’t want to see what they would do if they got the job!

I was so impressed by Jorge and team in how it was completed and was glad that I went with this company. Jorge was the project manager / supervisor and he came out to my house numerous times to check on the 4 day project. Gustavo and Alex were the contractors working on the project and they did a wonderful job and I am so pleased with the result.
Points to note:
1. They showed up on time, every day.
2. The whole team was courteous, hardworking, and professional; I was very comfortable having them in my house when I had to leave for work.
3. They were very efficient and completed the project right on schedule.
4. They were respectful of my space and left it clean.
5. The estimate was consistent with the final invoice- there were no surprise costs at the end.
6. I wasn’t sure what texture I wanted to do on the ceiling and what would match the rest of my 1960’s home, and so they made samples of multiple ceiling textures and let me decide (I ended up changing my mind at one point and was grateful that they made the samples!)

I have attached one before and two after photos- keep in mind that the camera on my phone isn’t great, but in person the ceiling is even, consistent texture with a pure ceiling white throughout. They also stained the wood trim around the door which really made it pop. They were quick, professional, and easy to work with. We love the results. They were so easy to work with that once the renter was out, we had them back to paint the inside of the home, too. Based on our budget, they advised us to leave the trim alone and instead paint the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Roell also coordinated getting drywall added where there used to be an opening to the downstairs; and added drywall and a barn door to make a proper entrance to the primary bedroom. Along with new carpet and hardware throughout, the home was transformed! We are extremely pleased with the results and were able to sell the home quickly and easily. To start, Cameron from Paris Painting came out to the home, explained what would be done (washing, prepping, sealing… etc… painting), listened to our vision of possible colors, and helped my wife and I pick exact colors. At that time we were quoted a reasonable price. During the prepping and painting my wife and I were out of the country on vacation. The program manager, Chris, regularly emailed progress and pictures. We came back to a beautifully painted house, along with containers of the un-used paints for possible touch-up work in the years to come. Chris arranged a time for us to meet, discuss our impressions of the job, and inspect the house exterior. In summary, Paris Painting was professional, on-time, did a great job, communicated well, all at a reasonable price. They have painted many houses in our Como Park neighborhood and I recommend them for any interior or exterior paint jobs.

I went to about 6 collision repair places and walked out of each of them with an estimate that was worth more than the cars value. I drove to Maaco hoping for a cheaper repair job and thankfully was greeted by Kristin. I had purchased a tail light online and Kristin was able to finesse it into my car despite all the dents and warped metal. With two zip ties and a can do attitude Kristen single handedly got my car in driving shape and has saved me a whole lot of money!

Johnny Mejia rated it 2/5: I recently came here to get a paint job for my coupe and I found this place online because it had pretty good reviews. I wanted to give this place five stars for the customer service since they were great and very friendly, but there are some things that I just could not let go.
The paint job for my car looks really good… from a distance. I went with a stage 3 color and I believe it is the premium paint that they offer in their service packages. When I picked up my car I noticed small imperfections that the paint technicians missed. For example, when I got home I saw that corners of my grille, headlights, and window ended up getting painted. It is pretty bothersome and honestly poor quality because it shows that this business isn't very precise with the details in their work. I also noticed that my window linings and my headlights have scratches, most likely due to the sanding process of the car body.
The second thing that really bothered me was the cleanliness of their work. I recently installed new WeatherTech floor mats days before dropping off my car at Maaco, but when I received my car there were paint footprints all over the driver side's floor mat. I tried washing and scrubbing the mat but had no luck getting them off. Same goes with my dashboard, it looks like they just wiped off the dash with a rag but there was still dust in the corners and crevices.
Overall, the work was decent. The body looks good from afar and it's shiny up close, which is a plus. I just think they need to work on cleanliness with the interior and accuracy when painting their vehicles, especially for a stage three paint job. I really like the people who helped me at Maaco and wish I could've been able to give a perfect 5/5, but the issues I found on my car when I got it back left me disappointed.
Dean Johnson rated it 1/5: They are the worst body shop ever. So much over spray its unreal. Cant meet the time they said they would. had my car for almost 4 days before even starting on it. I got the car back so dirty you couldn't tell if the scratch's they where supposed to fix got fixed or not. The amount of buffing compound left of the car was unreal. The dust inside and out. Took me 4 hours to clean just the inside of my car. The black molding they replaced was buffed so the new molding is ruined. The amount of over spray in the door jam is also just unreal. And they didnt even repair everything that they were asked to. So I will have to bring the car to another body shop mostly to fix everything this shop messed up. They really don't care about your car or you. The photos were taken within minutes of me leaving there shop. Yes thats how dirty I got the car back

Got me in earlier than they thought they could get me in and got a free loaner car while my car was getting fixed. When I went to pick up my car, it was better than I was expecting. Would absolutely recommend for your car needs. If I ever need a body shop again I will definitely be back.

All agreed-upon areas were fixed good as new, metal work and panel gaps perfect, etc. He also cleaned up fog on the headlights (which was needed!), gave a basic interior clean, and correctly diagnosed that the vehicle's starter was about to fail, an issue that had not yet come to my attention. The paint blending was done to perfection with no seams, which required repainting significant parts of the doors, which meant he also needed to redo the trim lines. Everything looked neat as a pin and the car was done when he promised it would be.

Couldn't be happier with this work. Overall a great experience and the car looks better than it has in years. This is a go-to shop for me from now on.

Brian Western rated it 5/5: My wife's 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T station wagon that we bought brand new from Westside VW finally succumbed to the ubiquitous VW rusted front fenders (actual holes¹) and edge of rocker panels–and the hood's clear coat had peeled off all splotchy. Sergio looked it over and addressed all of those issues with a reasonable quote and a reasonable amount of time to complete the work. When I picked up the vehicle the first thing that caught my attention was the beautifully matched paint color. I wasn't satisfied with how the fender liner was connected to the edge of the rocker panel (Sergio agreed with me), so I left the car an extra day for Kleyver to modify and finish². Very satisfied and happy with my interactions throughout the shop! New rocker panel metal welded to the body…new fenders…painted body work and hood. Good old fashioned body work! Oh…and my wife noticed that the interior had been vacuumed and the floor mats cleaned–added value, eh? And Kleyver (at Sergio's behest) applied touch up paint to a couple spots that weren't part of the original work at no extra charge–plus, at the end of modifying one side of the rocker panel noticed some marks on the front bumper that he cleaned up.

Andy gave me his honest appraisal that an inexpensive fix might or might not work, but he could try it immediately. I received a call 3 hours later and returned to view the work of Andy’s team of magicians. The scratch had disappeared. Thank you, Andy, for saving me both money and face. I came clean after the fact with my friend’s mom. She loved your work and will be seeing you soon to repair some minor scratches on the passenger side.

Brennan and his team did a great job with patching, prepping and painting our plastered walls, and with painting our stucco exterior home using Loxon XP with elastomeric. They also caulked & reglazed the windows, painted all of the trim and shutters, AND WASHED THE WINDOWS! They know their products and are professional; even down to the very detail of how they seal off rooms and protect surface areas. They also do a thorough job with the cleanup phase of each painting project.
