My husband and I have taken about five vehicles here over the years for Body work, minor scratches, and paint jobs. Butch’s is always pleasant, fast, professional and go above and beyond to make sure that we have a good experience and our car is repaired properly. Their prices are fair as well. Anytime a family member or friend tells me they need bodywork or paint on their car I send them here and they have a great experience as well. Good service providers really are hard to find. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk into the shop and the customer service is impeccable. Went to a couple of body shops to get a price on my damaged bumper. This was definitely the best one. When you first enter the clean, nicely scented office you are greeted with a hello and a smile! Both Liz and Abby were courteous and welcoming each and every time I called about the status of my truck. When I had a small issue, they assured me it would be taken care of. Butch himself came out to talk with me about my concern. I left Butch's happy knowing that customers are his/their priority!

Replaced and painted the hood (perfect paint match), replaced the grill and trim, and repaired the front bumper. They took care of all of the insurance stuff, including helping me return my rental car. They left my car way cleaner than when I brought it. They even polished a mark on the door that I wasn't sure was there before my car went in the shop. Highly recommended.

I have known Kimberly (and the CEO, Rob) and a number of staff over the years, and I couldn't be more positive about the team, including Melvin who hooked me up during my last appointment. For any interested first-timers, go onto their website and send a request and/or give them a call to ask questions and/or get scheduled. They'll gladly work with you for listed services, and should have you some explicit needs, just let them know. Their location in a lower level of a parking garage in the Courthouse area should NOT dissuade you. Follow the directions provided in their appointment email, and you'll be good to go. My SUV has a finish and look that no one could question is "brand new", and that is in no small part to the fantastic work that Capitol Shine has done with applying Ceramic Pro from the start and follow-up "sport coats" every year since. I highly recommend their service, and if you want your vehicle to have that "new finish" look for years, Capitol Shine is the place to start and continue going.

I received outstanding service from Capitol Shine on my car. I purchased a full front end PPF and whole body Ceramic Coating. The finished product looks great, but the best part of my experience was the customer service. Unfortunately there were a lot of complications in my service (cracked windshields, dust under the first PPF), but Capitol, and their awesome rep Kimberly, kept me updated constantly through text and voice, and made sure every single issue was resolved before I had my car back. They even spent time and resources driving my car over to Safelite for the windshield issue. PPF and Ceramic coating is an expensive investment and I felt my investment was well worth it at Capitol Shine.

I will update this review if I notice any defects or issues arise in the near future. So far there are none.

Elena Burns rated it 2/5: I was excited to get a professional wash and vac here as there appears to be no places around here that actually have good automatic wash and self vac. I had just returned from a road trip with my dog so I took off the seat protectors and removed literally everything from the car in order to make it as easy for the crew as possible. I tried not to laugh once I got a good look at my car once I left the garage. I cannot believe I spent about $100 (tip included) for a very disappointing job on both the hand wash and vacuuming. There was still dog hair everywhere. On top of that, there was still a lot of visible dirt/grime on the outside of the vehicle. Definitely will NOT be returning. I could have done a better job vacuuming and hand washing it myself, but unfortunately I just don’t have the resources living in an apartment in the city. It’s great that I still have to vacuum the vehicle myself after all that money and take it through another wash.
Update: Melvin called me almost immediately after I posted my review and offered to have me bring my car back for them to re-wash/vac free of charge. I ended up declining to bring it back as I honestly just don't have the time and would prefer do it myself at this point. I have to say though, excellent customer service! I was offered a full refund since I was not going to bring it back and Melvin apologized for the job not meeting my expectations.
Skip Powers rated it 1/5: I'd like your clients to know you charged a 12 year client a premium fee for professional XPEL wrap service – and after FOUR treks back to your shop, the wrap is still in poor condition (bubbling, peeling, missing parts not installed before delivery). The fee was reasonable. The quality and the hostility to own the mistake and mediate – unprofessional. BUYER BEWARE before trusting a quality vehicle for XPEL – do your homework. Capitol Shine is not the option that will give you the detail and back their work.
yusuf benallal rated it 1/5: BEWARE!! This is not the place to have ppf or stek or vinyl wrap for your car. The team is cool people and very friendly. They are incompetent even with washes. You pay 100 dollars or 150 dollars for a car wash and if you point something out they say it’s the customer being difficult. I had my Porsche Panamera wrapped blue here and they had it for almost 3 weeks. When I tell you they sold me a dream and had Huge expectations I was very disappointed when I got my car. The vinyl looked like it was edged by a 4th grader. I went to 3 wrap shops they said it was very poor work because they made it seem I was being picky. If you pay over 7k you should be picky!!! You should double check your work. TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME I TOOK IT TO PORSCHE AND THEY SHORTED SOMETHING AND IT HAD MANY ERRORS. I recorded the tech talking and sent it to them. The manager said they would fix it but as time passed the wrap was peeling and It had so many imperfections. Bolts missing, taillights misaligned, paint scratches from not using knifeless tape, parts missing. I told them to refund me and remove and I’ll give them that they did because they know it was a a poor job and I didn’t want to keep bringing it back to get things fixed. Initially I purchased ppf(paint protection film) on the whole front end and they wrapped vinyl over it so that said it’s common. I agreed to keep the ppf and they would remove the vinyl wrap. They said it will be good to go when I pick up. I PICKED IT UP THEY MISSED HALF THE PPF ON THE BUMPER AND SAID IT MUST HAVE RIPPED OFF WITH THE VINLY. is there no double or triple checking work here?!?? I messaged them they said bring it by and we will put it on. They said it would have stay a day or two for it to cure. I had work so I said I’d bring it by some time later. Eventually the partial ppf that’s on the bumper after a couple days starts to peel up! I told them I’ll take my business somewhere else. I asked for a refund and they said no because my bumper had bad paint! WHY WOULD YOU PUT OR LAY ANYTHING ON BAD PAINT! my paint isn’t what’s bad it’s the inability and incompetence of capital Shines team. I have trim pieces missing, bolts missing, too much to list. Do your research before you come here. Pictures will speak more volume.

They expedited the repair and had my window back in tip top shape in 2 business days, not to mention the amount of money I saved by them being honest knowing it could be repaired. I could not ask for anything more. They are very professional, their work was excellent, and most importantly they are very knowledgeable and skilled in windows. From the first visit to measure the glass then have the replacements made and installed took only five days. Without hesitancy, I absolutely recommend Kennedy Glass.

They were quick to bring out a technician (Ben) for a consult and helped us find the most cost-effective solution to fixing 5 windows in our house. We came in expecting to have to replace the windows entirely, but they suggested repairs instead (which cost thousands of dollars less than a full replacement. When the time came for the actual job, Ben was punctual and worked efficiently to conduct all of the repairs. The workmanship was high quality, all windows functioned properly after the repairs, and the one full glass replacement we did (for a fogged out window) was well done, despite us having a window with non-standard dimensions that was installed crookedly (the beauty of living in Capital Hill where everything is "custom").
I would definitely recommend Kennedy Glass and we will work with them in the future on any of our window needs!

Luis and Manuel were fabulous to work with. We need the entire interior of our home repainted and a set of old cabinets in our mud room. The did an excellent job, were easy to communicate with, and made sure I was satisfied at the end of every shift. I would highly recommend them for all of your painting needs. I was nervous because It was my first tattoo and Brian did everything to assure I was comfortable and we had great conversation the whole time ! Amelia rated it 1/5: Do not take your car here. They did an incredibly sloppy job, more than I could have ever imagined. Overspray was left all over my car, making it difficult to see. There is paint on my windows and inside my car. The door wasn’t installed correctly, so my back door would not open. The tail-light is the wrong size and sticks out. The worst part is they taped my gas tank shut and I was stranded on the side of the road unable to get gas in my car. aaa had to pry it open with a crowbar.

The second time was the worst experience. They had the car for over 10 weeks even though the car was promised a few different times. Then because they car was sitting to be worked on for so long the car battery died and I needed a new battery, spark plugs and battery connections. I called weekly for a progress report because they did not give me updates. I received one excuse after another excuse – it was almost done except for one part which was false because the next time I called they couldn't get the car started; then they called to tell me they didn't know what was wrong; then I was told I needed a new battery etc; everything was put together but it needed paining. I was promised the car again only for another day with no reason "we will do whatever it takes to have it done today."

I would not recommend Capital Certified Collision Center after my second experience. They lack leadership, professionalism, expertise and customer service. I would suggest go elsewhere, they have lost credibility.

I brought my car in to repair damage from a hit and run on the drivers side door and they took apart my passenger side door. Why? Who knows. My guess is their mechanic was so incompetent he had to take apart the passenger side to figure out how to put the driver side back together. Unfortunately in the process they broke my passenger side door fob lock(again, this was the side that wasn’t damaged). Then they did it again on the drivers side.
I went to pick up my car no less than two separate times and discovered with more things wrong with my car than when I brought it in! It took almost a month to repair a dent because of how terrible this place is.
On top of all this incompetence my car was left open and exposed because some animal was allowed to enter, crawl all over (leaving paw prints), and peeing in my back seat.
Do not go to this mechanic. They don’t know what they’re doing and can’t run a business.

Jenna Hampton rated it 1/5: I was involved in a simple fender bender about 2 months ago. I brought it here and they made me leave my car for the whole process of estimating the damage, ordering the parts, waiting for the parts, and fixing the car. It took them over a month to fix the car and I had to call consistently to make sure they were working on it. They didn't give me an estimated pick up day until I begged them for one and got my insurance adjuster involved. Then, on the day I was supposed to get the car back they had a break in. Someone smashed the glass on my car window. Because my car is newer, they had to order replacement glass from a dealership. The glass is on National back order so I still don't have my car back and they are back to not giving me an estimate of when to pick it up. So, I could be without a car for 2-3 months of more because of a simple fender bender. DO NOT recommend this place.
mark miller rated it 1/5: DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. One of their employees damaged my truck on purpose by throwing the gate against it. They admitted fault and did not deny the allegations. We actually witnessed it. We asked for their business insurance to fix the damage and they refused to share it with us but offered to fix it with them and "Keep it quite" as Shawn said. Shawn is an employee that lies and covers his buddies. I refused their offer and still havent heard from them. Shady business for sure. Do yourself a favor and deal with honest people instead of liars.

Ruben and Leonel were very professional and very efficient at repairing and painting and went above and beyond repairing the many holes, painting the crown molding, walls and ceiling. The one thing I regretted was not painting earlier on in our time there so we could enjoy it longer. After we moved to this light-filled home, we promised ourselves we wouldn’t make that same mistake. This time, we definitely hired Manny and his team because there was no way we were going to tackle vaulted stairway ceilings, crown moulding, repairing minor cracks and holes, many many window trims by ourselves. I had a chance to watch them in action last year when they hired me to photograph them so I knew we’d be hiring them eventually. And after seeing them turn over our whole main level (foyer, living room, kitchen, dining, sunroom, and the two stairways going upstairs and downstairs) in just one day, they were 1000% worth every penny spent. I love their work and we will be enjoying these walls for many years to come now 🥰
