We also got a text about 20 minutes ahead of his arrival, telling us he was coming. He was professional and straightforward about the problem we were experiencing. And he talked to me about the recommended repairs BEFORE he started them, which was a professional move to me.

He was also easy to talk with. He was never condescending, never looked down on us. I would happily work with him, and Cregger, again.

I had a cheaper quote from another business but when the installer came for an estimate, I was taken with the knowledge as he explained in detail what I needed. When I had to reschedule, the Ladies were accommodating. KJ and Nick came to our home and started immediately, they called me as soon as an issue arose and explained my opinions. KJ really went above and beyond with helping me with work outside there scope and for that I’m grateful. I had questions and concerns about the permits in which Emily literally walked me through the Detroit app each step of the way. The guys were humble, quick and hilarious. I loved that energy in my home!

Fortunately, they were able to make it out the same day and went above and beyond what you'd get from a big-box store install, cleaning up and replacing a lot of the old, outdated infrastructure.

Neila rated it 1/5: This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. On Jan. 3, 2022; Josh the VP promised that my supplies for my bathroom remodel would be in 3-4 weeks. Well It's March 7th and some still aren't in. He was rude to me on the telephone when I called in February to ask about the supplies that were holding up my bathroom remodel. I paid them $6,000 via check and they gave a refund for a tub sprout to a contractor on his credit card. Never use Eddie Jones' Plumbing and Heating because he's a liar and a crook.

Josh from Advance will not give the customer a refund that you paid for but will give his contractor friend your money. And when Eddie Jones tell you that you're getting a discount don't believe him because you can get the EXACT same parts from Amazon or Builders for at least $100 cheaper and within two days.

Because of both of these poor businessmen, my bathroom remodeling job took two months instead of one.

Met up with Josh and explained my renovations. He walked me through room by room and helped me decide on everything needed… answering my millions of questions and explaining pros and cons. Fast forward 6 weeks later, everything was delivered. The A Team, Joe and Matt, called ahead, unloaded the truck, and checked the order over, making sure everything was excellent condition. This entire renovation process can be stressful at times… the Advance Team made their part stressless.

Call to have if fixed, plumber came back out, leak not fixed. Second call back to have them come back out and was told there would be a charge for a part. I asked why, Mr Paul was unable to articulate an answer and stated he would just give me my money back. This was one of the answers I received. "You know how when you take a car in to get fixed and they find something else wrong with it. I don't know why its leaking!" Unacceptable!

Dy McCaskill rated it 1/5: Two young men showed up to my property to snake out main drain. The house had sat vacant for over 2 years and was about to be occupied. Within 5 minutes of running their machine, the snake hit an obstruction and would not go any further. The young man standing near the drain pulled the snake attachment but it would not move so the other person reversed the machine and pulled the snake out. There was a bit of mud on the end and I was told that the sewer collapsed. I was quoted a price of $3500 and they left after requesting full payment of $120 after working for less than 10 minutes. Paid a different plumbing contractor the next day for camera services but he didn't need to use that service because after hitting the same obstruction that the GlassHouse plumbing employees the previous day, the new contractor continued attempting to break thru and he did. After he had gone the 65' out to the main sewer drain, he came back with tree roots. I feel cheated and scammed out of my money because the GlassHouse plumbing employees never tried to get past the blockage, told me that I needed my sewer line replaced and they charged the full amount even though they did nothing.

He did a good job replacing the fixtures and the piping behind the bath tub, however, in the process, he managed to drop the pipe, which fell through the ceiling of our finished basement. He offered to fix the hole, but my partner is handy and began the process.
Since accidents happen, my partner decided to hire him to install our dishwasher. He installed it to find that the plug already existing under the sink is connected to the switch for the garbage disposal so he needed to run new electrical. He also needed to return to correctly mount the dishwasher because he hadn’t completed this prior to leaving for the day.
My partner also wanted a toilet installed in the basement, which would require moving the dryer and gas line. Shun agreed that these were also things he could do. My partner took a half day off work since Shun requested to get started on the toilet installation earlier. He was scheduled to arrive at 10:30am, and didn’t arrive until 11:45am. He analyzed the project, tried breaking through concrete with a sledge hammer, gathered money from us for supplies and headed to the store. He was gone for 3.5 hours to buy a jackhammer to break up the cement floor. After returning he needed to make another 2.5 hour shopping trip, in which my partner forced him to write out a shopping list, and then returned back to our home at 5:30pm. He then moved the dryer and the gas line ($100), and proceeded to break through the concrete floor. He laid the piping for the toilet, new cement, and began working on the electrical line for the dishwasher, which he decided to tie to a light fixture in the basement. We later found out that this is against code and does not provide enough electricity to run the dishwasher (it blew a circuit when we tried to run it). He also finally mounted the dishwasher installing a bracket on the inside front of the dishwasher. The dishwasher backs up with nasty smelly water because he installed it incorrectly.
Feeling far less than confident in Shun’s abilities to complete the jobs he says he can I started to smell gas. Shun did a dish soap test on the gas pipe he extended to find out that it was leaking. His first seal of the gas line was with teflon tape since he had misplaced the pipe thread compound paste. He found it and applied it to the pipe and we thought the leak was fixed until we ran the dryer. The leak is still not fixed, so we are looking to have an expert come out to complete this.
After he claimed to fix the gas leak, he and his partner moved the toilet on to cement that was not completely dry, level and measured incorrectly. Shun agreed to return the next day between 4 and 5pm to complete the toilet job since we are so unhappy with his work. The toilet is now sitting at a downright angle, is leaking, and is several inches away from the wall than we had requested. My partner sent him a photo of the leaking toilet the morning he was supposed to return. We made the mistake of paying him for the entire job except $100 (per his request), but I cannot say that I am surprised that he didn’t show up the next day to complete the job. My partner finally got ahold of him and his response was that he was having a busy day and would have to come the next day. At this point we were both livid, so we told him that his services were no longer wanted, in which he responded, “Wow”. Shun did not apologize or make any further attempt to correct the massive situation we are now left in. We are now having to hire a real professional to fix the work he completed, which cost us a total of nearly $1,400.
If you consider hiring Shun for any of your needs, I would recommend that you limit it to very basic plumbing and do not front him money for suppliers or pay for the job until it is 100% complete to your satisfaction! I also recommend that you request a copy of his plumbing license, as we have come to also find out that many of the things he completed (plumbing-wise) were also not to code or require a permit.

He had to replace a section of copper pipe and the result was, in my estimate, perfect. It is geometric, level, shiny and the sweats are so even. The soldered fittings are pretty. Good job.
