Katee LoMonaco rated it 5/5: We made an appointment to meet with Ambassador Pools in the middle of April after realizing our existing above ground pool was finally on it’s last leg. We contacted several local pool companies and we shocked at the price increase for a standard above ground pool. We were hesitant to proceed with a Kayak because of the additional cost, but figured we would listen to the sales pitch and go from there. Our salesperson, Gary, spent a good deal of time with us explaining the quality of the pool and how the pool might fit in our yard. He even pulled out a tape measure and told us what we’d need to do to prepare our yard and how it was possible for them to retrofit and abut the pool to our existing deck originally built for a round pool! When every other pool company was quoting us installation times in July/August, Gary said if we started the process soon they could have us swimming by Memorial Day. We took about a week to move forward with our decision to purchase through Ambassador and Gary answered all of our questions and tried to put us at ease. We did finance through them as well which was a fairly seamless process. The trouble came with our permit when we discovered issues with the placement of our pool in our yard in relation to our septic system. Jennifer went above and beyond her job description to address our concerns and dig for property information that should have been part of public record. This process put us weeks behind schedule and left unsure if we’d be able to proceed. Jennifer was empathetic and truly wanted to help us make the right decision. After much debate the town issued the permit and we were able to accept the pool delivery. Our pool was delivered 6/2/2022 and by some sort of magic Ambassador contacted us to set up installation for 6/6/2022! The only snag we ran into was communication between employees at Ambassador. While there was email communication that outlined the abutment to our existing deck between management of Ambassador our installation team was not aware until the day before install. However, despite that Chico went over our options for abutment to our existing deck and was willing to proceed as previously discussed. The day of installation was the smoothest part of our experience. Chico and his team were fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. He clearly communicated with us throughout the installation process and made sure were comfortable with the plan. The pool was up in less than 5 hours! The next day someone came to connect our chlorine system since we were using our hose to fill up. Although we have some landscaping to do everything looks amazing and the pool is gorgeous! We can’t wait to swim!

I bought the pool that arrived on Tuesday and it was installed on Thursday😯😯💯. My beautiful pool was expensive$$, however, I don't know of a company in America that can go from phone call to quote, to delivery and installation in 5 days! Also, Armando and his crew were amazing with the installation. On time, professional, and clean. I now have a big beautiful pool, that is practically maintenance free for the next 30 years! If you can afford the cadillac of above ground pools, go for it!💯💯💯

“Fill and mail back in 30 days or your cover warranty is void” 😳 😳😳
How am I supposed to know there is a form to fill out, if you left it on the floor, next to the trash, in the rain 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Again, this company does good structural work however with bad service and extremely expensive prices! So you make your own decision 🤷‍♂️

They handled all of the permitting, inspections and subcontractors, so it was seamless experience. They also constructed a fire pit and stone seating area. All in all, this exceeded our expectations in how the pool came out. Its very hard to visualize a mark on the ground, but Jason Ward has a great eye for it. We also use Ferrari for opening/closing and service during the season, and their employees are knowledgable, meticulous and professional. Pool always looks great and water is clean. Highly recommend for both design/installation and maintenance.

I spent 6+ months researching pool builders. The final renovation included pebble technology as well as a conversion to a heated saltwater system. With these customer driven upgrades, Ferrari Pools still came in $15,000 less than a well-known South Shore pool builder who only offered a basic renovation. Ferrari came in on time and on budget.
From the initial walk through to the design, construction and maintenance, the process has been simple and straightforward. Lacky goes above and beyond project managing with a careful eye. He has made the process easy and truly fun. The whole Ferrari Team is friendly, responsive, efficient, honest and hard working. This team produces high quality work and their attention to detail is bar none. The team is extremely skilled in their craft and extremely communicative. Karen Peabody rated it 1/5: RUN don't walk from Ferrari pools. They built our pool 5 years ago. We had issues from construction through to service. They also did not honor the warranty on our tiles when several tiles on our spa popped off. They confirmed they were under warranty but promptly refused to come and fix costing us thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket cost to fix on our own. The communication and unprofessionalism runs rampant in all areas of the company up through the owner, who has been terrible and completely rude to us, his customers. Most disappointing company we have ever done business with. Save yourself a huge headache and find a pool company that values their customers and stands behind their work and warranties.

Pools by Us Plus is the BEST in the business. I researched pool installation companies for 2 months. Based on my hours of research and data collected, Poos by Us Plus stuck out from the rest.
Be careful out there. Many companies claim to provide quality service. In reading the posts and ratings, (and making a few phone calls), many will offer their service for less money. You will find that paying less is not always best. The phrase “you get what you pay for” is very relative when selecting a professional company to install your pool. I had read many horror stories from other installation “experts” that performed the job and left the property only for the customers to experience multiple issues with the installation and the company would not even return telephone calls to address the problems they caused.

Pools by Us Plus is simply the best in the business. Yes, they cost a bit more, but you will be amazed with the end results. My 18’ X 40’ Oval was installed with perfection by an amazing, knowledgeable and highly functional team. Not a single wrinkle or leak, including the filter. Melanie and Al are great to deal with and provide an above the rest experience at every level. Forget the rest, this business is the best !!

Al was very good about involving my husband and I each step of the way, informing us about each step and how to care for our pool. Ken Drew rated it 4/5: When looking for a replacement liner for your above the ground pool post-covid, it is challenging. I was smart enough to purchase my liner in the winter and waited until spring to have it installed.
After calling around, I found the typical issues. Some places never returned calls. Others had issues with a professional conversation. Like many, this is a seasonal business so the fly by the night person claims to be able to replace a liner but really does a poor job.

This was liner number 3 on a 20 year old above the ground pool. The Initial liner was fine. The replacement is when I learned that you get what you pay for. The bottom of the pool had various indentations and the liner was not properly placed. While it functioned fine for many years, it was annoying to watch tow people struggle to get the liner done by dark many years ago.

Fast forward to 2022 and the need to replace the liner. Pools By Us Plus was by far and away the most expensive BUT they were by far and away the most organized. The directions were clear and simple. I was flexible so my timing was moved up which was nice.

They had a crew of 4 people. The install was done properly and the bottom of the pool was properly smoothed as best as possible since the original installer used a sand instead of stone dust. Nonetheless, it was fine.

I upgraded to the thermo-liner which was my choice. This has made a difference as the pool retains heat better. All things considered, the 24' pool liner was installed properly. $1,800 is not cheap but I did get a professional job. $1,100 for the install of the liner plus $700 for the thermo-liner.

You ask why not 5 stars? As mentioned, you are paying a premium and that is significant. Also, post-Covid prices are higher anyway. My issue was that there were a few parts that were not replaced atop the posts and I have a few open holes that I must try to fix myself. I know the pool is old but I would think these sort of plastic plugs are available and could be kept in the work truck for these situations.

The major problem was the return jet placement. This was replaced with a new replacement jet. That is nice BUT it was not tightened and when it was, it pointed up and was a fixed return jet. Fortunately, I had my old one so I could use it to properly direct the water stream for proper circulation of the pool. They could have checked this prior to tightening the part at the wall liner. Fortunately, it was fixable.

Also, having to place the liner in our van with the heat on max to make it more flexible was annoying. If I was told earlier in the process, I would have stored the liner inside our home. This sort of communication would have helped the install go a little smoother. Minor complaint but needs to be mentioned.

Overall, I would recommend Pools By Us Plus. At least they knew how to return calls and leave professional messages unlike many of the other jokers listed on the Pool Contacts list I received.

Although I know he was very busy with customers, Steve patiently answered my questions and gave advice to resolve the problem. As we talked, we realized that my family has used UPM for almost 30 years! I can still remember the day Steve came to educate me about the pool operation. Over the years, Steve and his crew have been incredibly helpful with information, troubleshooting, service calls, and reassurances. I feel like I am very knowledgeable about maintaining our pool because of Steve’s tutelage—-he’s a marvelous teacher! (Pun intended!)
We’re very lucky to have UPM service our pool. The swimming season is so short, and we are able to take advantage of each Sunny day thanks to Steve and his staff at UPM!!

I have used Underwater Pool Masters for years to open and close my pool. I have also used them to purchase products. Up until this year I have always had a great experience with them. Apparently, they now let their service guys (ERIC) do their own scheduling. Well, Eric never showed up on the day he was supposed to open my pool. Then I was rescheduled to a week later. Again, Eric never showed up (no phone call or anything). When I called yet again to see what was going on, I was told that they can't even get in touch with Eric to find out where he is or what is going on with his appointments. I asked if I would be scheduled for the following day since this is now twice that Eric never showed up to my house. I was told that Eric's schedule looked full for the following day and that he would most likely not make it. Are you kidding me??!!! How was my pool not a priority at this point? I was bumped twice with no phone call or anything and yet I was not going to be squeezed in? Completely insane. How do they even think this makes sense? I called again the following day to get an update and nothing. They couldn't tell me when Eric would be out to open my pool. I then left a voicemail for the owner, Steve. Waiting for his call back and explanation. How could he let this guy Eric ruin the reputation of his business? I can't wait for an explanation….

Justin and his team not only did an amazing job with the installation of the pool, but all of the plumbing and equipment as well! They are incredibly responsive, and when I had a motor fail on a pump within hours the motor was replaced with no issue. I do the weekly maintenance myself so I can not speak to that component of service, but from the design, quality of the equipment, and the service technicians (Geraldo, Mike and Sergio all worked on the pool systems and really know their stuff) everything was done quickly with excellent communication and follow up. Ken followed up on everything for every service appointment/install to make sure we were happy. I have friends with pools that tell us nightmare stories about their pool companies, and all I can see is we are beyond thrilled with Justin, Ken and the whole crew! Their experience shows in everything they do, and they take pride in their work. We totally recommend Pureaqua!!

The quality of work is just awful: missing pool cover anchors, leaking pipe after installing pump, etc. Their customer service is one of the worst I have seen. They practically lie to you and have no shame. They tell you something and then they do something different. I advise everyone to stay a way from this company. I have found another company that I am actually very happy. They are very professional and their customer service is just great.

Their 1/2 hr. pool service will cost you more than the hourly rate of a seasoned trial attorney! The standard pool opening or closing rate in the market is $250-$350 and plenty of other companies offering superb service without overcharging and surprise bills. The only star they get is because of the hardworking pool guy who serviced my pool each week. Very friendly & informative. Otherwise the office staff are rude and overcharge for basic services. For pool service recommendations plus other services its best to ask your local moms group online. Thousands of moms in Boston's surrounding towns manage the homes so we share online who we recommend and of course any bad experiences. Services such as Angie's list & thumbtack have also been helpful for providing quotes upfront from quality companies. Just stay away unless you prefer to be overcharged.

Recently, we had our 30 year old gunite pool completely redone requiring me to take on quite a bit of new maintenance I didn’t anticipate including brushing the plaster twice a day for 28 days, maintaining a low Ph level as the concrete cured, filtering the water to remove plaster debris, etc. Anyway, my filtering system wasn’t working properly and Chris of Farrell Pool sent one of his experienced guys, Brian, to fix the problem. Brian took the system apart, gave it thorough cleaning, glued some loose pipes together, and showed me how to add missing DE powder to properly filter the system. Overall, I got a valuable lesson on proper pool maintenance and Brian got our pool up and running properly. Chris and the team are outstanding and I would highly recommend them. They are professional, trustworthy and responsive.

From the moment I reached out to the owner, Bill – who'd I'd contracted to do some openings and closings in the past – about engaging his company to do a full upgrade (replace the liner, the heater, convert to salt water), the end-to-end service was absolutely exceptional. Within days of agreeing to terms, I had "Derek", Bill's son, out taking measurements of my pool; and over the course of the next 4 weeks, I had out to my house Billy, Tim, AJ, Ben and Joe (no matter the weather conditions) doing everything they could to ensure that the work was performed methodically, timely, and effectively – and Libby and Hollie, back in the office, were making sure that any questions or concerns I had were being addressed immediately. Once the work was completed, Derek came back out to the house, and took two hours out of his time (which is undoubtedly in high demand) just to make sure that we felt comfortable with how all the mechanical operations were integrated, red flags to look for, when to call for help, and even where to shop for supplies to get the best value. He even ASKED if he could return in a weeks' time to check the chemistry levels so he himself felt confident the work was complete. There's a lot of service providers out there to choose from in the metrowest area – save yourself the time shopping around and call Farrell Pool Service.

Third they are reliable and reasonably priced. Customer service has disappeared in so many companies and even with the current staff shortages they are always taking care of their customers. I use them for weekly pool service, opening, closing and chemicals. I will go nowhere else – highly recommend them to all pool owners!
Stephen Chaudoin rated it 1/5: Insanely expensive. It just cost us $1,200 to open our pool. And this was a "basic" pool opening. No special issues came up. They snuck in a $259 charge for a bucket of 3" chlorine tabs. That is an insane markup. The current price online is almost $100 cheaper. And we already had tabs if they'd bothered to ask us.
My impression is that there just aren't many pool companies in the area, so the lack of competition + COVID has let them run prices through the roof.
