ROMAN STESZEWSKI rated it 3/5: Started off good but then got some technicians that said they did a job and didn't not realizing I have cameras in the backyard and could see they did nothing but play on thier phone, then they started not coming on the scheduled days which would not be a problem if they communicated this to me but they didn't and then they would come out on a saturday when we would be using the pool, this happened on a few occasions. The last time it happened I wrote a lenghty email explaining if they missed a day please not come out on the weekend when we were using the pool and all I got was an "ok" not even an apology. My pool was always cloudy looking and I thought that was just from the cleaning but something else was not being done. Now I have a wonderful pool service with my water always looking crystal clear and 100 bucks cheaper.
Matt Houser rated it 1/5: We have had an absolute terrible and frustrating experience with Pool Knights. In fact, I recently had to file a complaint with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Here were some of the key points I included in the complaint:
1) Pool Knights did not abide by the "8 Point Preventative Maintenance Program" per the service contract. Specifically, they discontinued the use of (or significantly reduced) the use of the proper chemicals, which resulted in algae overgrowth, an expensive remediation process, and potential health hazards for my family.

2) Pool Knights acted deceptively by taking pictures of the pool in such a way that the shadows on the surface of the water obstructed the view of the algae overgrowth that was present below the surface of the water. When I sent new pictures that clearly showed the extent of the algae overgrowth, they simply quit responding to me.

3) Pool Knights was either non-responsive or minimally responsive when I attempted to repeatedly contact them. When they did respond, it was usually just to blame me for the problems with the pool (although none of those issues existed during the past 8 years with a different pool company).

4) Pool Knights continued to charge the full price for the weekly service, despite leaving the pool in a state of non-cleanliness and full of algae. It is also my belief that they stopped using the necessary chemicals in order to save the company money.

Here is a summary of the timeline:
We entered into a service contract with Pool Knights during the late February / early March 2022 timeframe. Very soon after entering into the agreement, we began to notice that the cleanliness of the pool had significantly deteriorated. We also noticed leaks with the equipment that were not resolved by Pool Knights.
Each time we would contact the company, they would blame the issues on us. Within a few months of switching our service to Pool Knights, algae had begun to grow in all the corners and was quickly spreading along the walls as well. The technician finally admitted that the company had stopped using the proper chemicals due to supply chain issues (although they continued to charge my debit card the same amount every month). We prevented our children from swimming in the pool due to our concern over possible toxicity associated with the algae overgrowth. I tried repeatedly to contact the company via phone and email but never received a response.
I finally sent a cancellation request on May 20th. The company finally responded and said that they had fixed the algae issues. In reality, their technician had intentionally taken pics in such an angle that the shadows on the surface of the water obstructed the view of the algae. This was very deceptive, dishonest and unethical on their part. I responded with additional pictures that clearly showed that the algae remained present all over the pool. I requested a refund for the amounts paid so that I could find a new pool company and have them perform a remediation service for the algae overgrowth.
Once again, the company quit responding to me. I followed back up with them again on June 3rd. They responded that a refund would not be issued.

They told me I needed a new filter, I had them replace it in may 2022 (which they contracted out) and then our pool was still getting green and not ok within a day or 2 of cleaning. Multiple weeks of letting them know, I have another company out and they let me know the phosphorus is of the charts. Go back to look at my pool service reports and they are not even checking it!!! Then they clean and it’s still green this week…. When we ask them about it and show them they send over invoices for a new filter!!! WHAT?!? I went through them and had a new 2k one one in may and they tell me they don’t have records of that?!? I went through them who contracted it out!!!

I have had to repeatedly call and/or email, as I asked for someone to come out, determine the problem(s) and give me a quote. It took weeks (almost a month to be exact) for anyone to come out. Once they did, he said they would send a quote. That has now been another month. (Again, I had to call 3 weeks in to ask when we were getting the quote) If they don't want/need the business, just tell me and quit wasting my time!

I have tried to be patient knowing there is a labor and supply shortage but there is literally zero communication. Isn’t that half the job? I wish I could say this was the first time my pool was green for 3 weeks with no call back and technician not helpful at all. We are on the “green pool list” so they are aware. We couldn’t use our pool for a month this summer. We came back from vacation and our pool was half empty and green. They took our Polaris to Leslie Pools to be fixed, a month later I had no update and no call back so I called Leslie myself and handled it myself. They are not 24 hours (stated on website) they are 9-5 M-F and you MIGHT get a call back chances are slim to none. We are finally fed up and moving on.

I had a really frustrating start as a pool owner as the filter pump on our pool broke soon after moving into our new house, and the previous pool service personnel were frequent no-shows that left the pool in pretty bad shape. We called another company to inspect the pump and they quoted a repair for $5,000 to replace the entire pump/filter system.
I was lucky to find Falcon Pool Services, and they sent two gentlemen that diagnosed and fixed the problem within half an hour for $150. They have taken great care of the pool ever since and my wife and I have been happily enjoying the pool. I can't thank these guys enough and highly recommend them!

PJ, the weekly maintenance supervisor, took it upon himself to call the landlord for my business property and falsely accuse me of giving his new employee COVID and keeping him from working. PJ did not call me at all to discuss this matter, despite my being listed as the primary contact and the responsible party on the account for my business with Butcher’s, never mind all our previous interaction wherein he knew I was the account holder. I had to call him myself to confront him about the issue, and he fired off a barrage of questions without allowing me to answer them, and then HUNG UP on me.

PJ’s new employee, Juan, showed up for his first day cleaning the pool alone, and I politely greeted him from a distance and let him know right away I had COVID at the time. I wanted him to understand why I was keeping my distance from him. From a safe distance (and outdoors!) I briefly showed Juan where chemicals and equipment were stored. This occurred on a Friday.

Juan then decided to call in sick the next week, which also happens to be the week of July Fourth, and has NOT tested positive for COVID according to Sonja at Butcher’s office. PJ, in his infinite wisdom and discretion as a leader and representative of Butcher’s, intentionally called the elderly and ailing owner of the pool that my business rents—not me, the owner of the business who has contracted Butcher’s—and told him that I gave his employee COVID, and that he didn’t know who would clean the pool as scheduled this week. My business contracted Butcher’s for weekly maintenance, receives the invoices, and pays the bills. The property owner has nothing to do with the weekly maintenance of the pool.

Please understand that if you choose to do business with Butcher’s, not only will they breach contract on the terms of their maintenance, but they will falsely accuse YOU of being the cause of their ineptitude. And they will stand behind their gross unprofessionalism as a matter of “policy,” as did Sonja defending PJ’s disgusting nuisance of a phone call to a poor old man who has nothing to do with my pool maintenance contract.

I fired Butcher’s today. They clearly cannot keep the terms of their business contract with my swim school and consistently keep the pool safe for my young students, but also went out of their way to falsely point fingers and deflect all responsibility. Good riddance. Beware!

Its been 1.5 years and they still have not fixed my fountain as promised. Also, I bought a best robot in the game (recommended by them) and its a piece of junk and never works. They say they fix it but it never works even though its “under warranty”. At the end of the day, if you rely on them and their suggestions, you’re pool will never be operational because they do not back up what they say. Find someone else before the summer flies by.

My business contracted Butcher’s for weekly maintenance, receives the invoices, and pays the bills. The property owner has nothing to do with the weekly maintenance of the pool.

Please understand that if you choose to do business with Butcher’s, not only will they breach contract on the terms of their maintenance, but they will falsely accuse YOU of being the cause of their ineptitude. And they will stand behind their gross unprofessionalism as a matter of “policy,” as did Sonja defending PJ’s disgusting nuisance of a phone call to a poor old man who has nothing to do with my pool maintenance contract.

I fired Butcher’s today. They clearly cannot keep the terms of their business contract with my swim school and consistently keep the pool safe for my young students, but also went out of their way to falsely point fingers and deflect all responsibility. Good riddance. Beware!

The company has very high staff turnover and as a result the person showing up to service the pool is always different, and often not suitably trained/qualified, this probably explains why the quality of Butcher's pool service has now deteriorated to the point of being a waste of money.

Furthermore, Butcher's indifference to security means that Butchers employees can sign out keys to customer properties whenever they want, including weekends, without first checking with the homeowner.

The improper cleaning and lack of security are the main reasons I terminated my relationship with Butchers.

Miguel also had the opportunity to do a much more expensive repair, one that I had already given the 'ok' on if it had to be done. He did not end having to go the expensive route, even though he could have and knew it. To me that says more than anything. He is honest AND works hard AND does a good job. Good luck finding that anywhere else.

They re-plastered our pool in April of 2021 and now in May of 2022 we have a large crack and many small ones. I contacted him in May and he said he would address it. It is now July and he does not respond to emails or texts. Now taking him to small claims court! Jeannie Hawkins

When I called Church Pool Services, they came to my house to see what type of lights the pool and spa had, and started step by step assessing the problem very professional, detailed and clean work. At the end, it was only a GFI that was not working. They replaced it for a very inexpensive price. I was very happy and pleased because they were honest. Someone else would just replaced both light kits and charged me a fortune. Thank you Church Pool Services for you professionalism and honesty. You truly care about the customer!!

Primarily due to Dan, who is the residential service manager. He is the BEST! Any time I have called Dan, he has responded quickly to whatever the issue is at that time. We recently had our pool acid washed and it came out sparkling white. This process was done in an efficient time frame and we are very pleased. Dan was available throughout the entire process.
First impression are important and Diane, the receptionist, is always kind & courteous and will help me with any issues and get me to the right people.

Janet Tran rated it 5/5: We have been with Sweetwater Pools for pool cleaning and maintenance for over 7 years and we love them! They are very knowledgeable and good at what they do. They will always diagnose and provide you with the best and least costly options. This means a lot! We had other companies where they lack repair knowledge, thus they will want to replace the entire unit instead of trying to repair and replace components whenever possible. This will save you money.
They are very honest and are very transparent in their quote for repairs. The customer service is excellent, especially Diane and Dan! They will always listen to you and work with you. Best quality, low cost and excellent customer service!

If that wasn't bad enough, the pool went from a crystal blue to a filthy green during their four months of "care." They kept promising to treat the pool with chemicals to fix the color and smell, but they were unable to do so (or they just lied and claimed they were treating it). The pool remains a stinking cesspool.

They swear they've done their best, and maybe they have, but THEIR BEST ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.

These people are unprofessional, filthy, incompetent, and they should never be let near a swimming pool again. Absolutely disgraceful "service."

It has been almost a month, and we still have not received his certification, despite repeated calls, and having received a mixture of excuses, blaming Red Cross, and attributing the problem to staff turnover at Sweetwater.

This was supposed to be an opportunity for my son to get a summer job, and the summer is almost over.

Money down the drain.

I asked for a refund. We'll see how they respond, but I expect more of the same: deflecting blame and more excuses.

Sent in pics of the issue I was having 8/3, 8/8 Called to see when they were coming and they just said we’ll call you day of. 8/17 they text they’re otw and I had to cancel with them because I Contacted a different company (Chuy the Pool Guy) 8/9 and they were at my house 8/11 got the part and fixed the pump 8/13.
