Our design consultant, Will Brennan listened to what wanted, came up with a design that met everything we asked for. We only made one minor modification. The longest chunk of time we had to wait was for the City of Schertz permit process. Once we got that it was full speed ahead! From excavation to wire framing to pouring concrete, decking and plumbing everything thing seemed to go as planned. Our construction supervisor David, kept us informed of timeline and steps in the process. Once it was complete, we even had someone come to our home and put us through "pool school" tailored to our particular pool and equipment. People that I know that have pools thought that was awesome. We thought so too! Everyone involved was very professional and courteous! Thank you KZP!

Going into this project during the COVID-19 pandemic, my wife and I were aware of potential delays. While delays occurred, we completely understood the challenges during these times and never pressed KZP for a faster completion. The time it took to complete was the timeline my wife and I had set in our minds considering the present challenges going across industries.
Sales Stage: Ms. Beth Gerrard and her sales team were amazing. At this stage we had to go back to the drawing board several times to figure out a design that would fit our our wants and budget. The sales agent was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and motivated to create a design suitable for us. At no point, we felt that we were been sold the pool that they had in mind; they always worked to sell the pool my wife and I had in our minds.

Pricing: At the time of quote, the KZP price was competitive when compared to 4 other companies. KZP reputation and organizational structure weighted heavily on our decision.

Design Center/Materials: The material selection offered by KZP is very extensive. Selecting the materials can be overwhelming. Elizabeth at the design center made this process very easy and enjoyable. While this is the second pool we build, we relied heavily on Elizabeth’s expertise and experience to determine the tile, plaster, and colors to be used. My wife and I are grateful for Elizabeth’s input. The pool looks amazing.

Project Execution: My wife and I are grateful for the expertise and professionalism of Marie Caiazzo and Paul Espurvoa along with the different work crews. Going into the project, my wife and I were concerned about the project specific challenges due to the unique terrain features. Specifically, our yard is on a hill and it has three leveled sections instead of a slope. We wanted the pool in the top area. This challenge did not face the KZP crews.
Paul Espurvoa was our project superintendent. Paul’s professionalism, knowledge, customer service skills and leadership are amazing. Paul ensured that we were informed of what was going on in our project at all times. He never failed to communicate with us. We always felt that we were part of the entire construction process. Throughout our project, Paul made us feel confident that we had made the right decision to build with KZP. The few times we had to do change orders/modifications to the initial plan, Paul was quick to provide his expert advice which was very instrumental in us making informed decisions. Paul’s high professional standards and commitment to the clients greatly represent him and KZP.

Work Structure: Except for one or two project tasks, mostly everybody that worked in our pool project is an employee of KZP. This brought peace of mind to know that our project was not at the mercy of sub-contractors. Every stage of the project was done by specific crews that are used to working together and exhibited cohesion. We had the excavation crew, the plumbing crew, the rebar crew, the gunite crew, the finishing crew and the clean up crew. This structure is great as the teams/crews stay in the project until their part is complete. This work structure made our project flow in a highly orchestrated manner and without headaches.

In conclusion, I recommend KZP to anyone wanting to build a high quality pool without headaches or hiccups. KZP uses quality materials as well as experts throughout the entire project. My wife and I are very happy with the pool that was built. Having selected KZP for our pool project brings great peace of mind to us.

Have it for 8y and more to come. Keith are prompt to service it, we had no issues when built they were right on scheduled.

Their technician Dante arrived on the appointed day and successfully performed a pneumatic line purge. He was friendly, competent, and was able to clear the line and get our pump running within an hour. Would definitely recommend, though I hope I won't have to call for this particular service again.

Megan Colson rated it 5/5: My husband and I are so happy with the service we've received from Jose and his family! We moved into a house with a pool recently and the pool was a swamp. We called them and they were out to our house within a day. They told us exactly what we'd need to do to fix it (which was drain it and do a chlorine bath, refill it, and balance the chemicals) and gave us a price then and there (and even gave us a very accurate estimate of how much it would cost us from SAWS to refill). We agreed and they began the process of draining it that afternoon. Once it was drained, Louie (Jose's brother) and his sons came out and scrubbed the pool clean and refilled it. Once it was refilled, they came back out and balanced the chemicals! It was truly amazing work! We now use them to maintain our pool. They come out once a week and rebalance the chemicals, vacuum the debris, clean the scimmer, and make sure the pump is functioning properly.
Unfortunately, our pump went out this weekend (the people that owned the house before us installed one that was far too small for the pool, which they mentioned might become an issue). We called on Saturday evening and Louie and his son were out by 8am the next morning to come check on it. They've been very helpful in guiding us in the next steps to take and even mentioned that we may have better luck going through our home warranty to save on the cost. I cannot recommend this company enough! They have been a godsend, especially since the temperatures are quickly rising!

He personally came over to examine the pool equipment and offered necessary recommendations of what had to be repaired or upgraded. While other companies wanted to charge for every single thing and did not want to handle the ground prep, they took care of everything regarding installation (our backyard is in a slope), one single price and they handled everything, even a few months ago when our pool got out of level it only took one call and they where here to level it at no charge.

Patrick P rated it 1/5: I contacted Aquazul about a green pool. They assured me they could take care of it quickly with no problem. Four weeks later, the pool looks the same or worse than when they started. The technician spent MAYBE 15-20min each week (except for the week they didn’t come at all), doing minimal maintenance(skimming surface, emptying skimmer basket, etc.) like they were just maintaining a pool that was in great shape. Each week I expressed my concern and was told ‘I understand, we’ll take care of it', but no additional effort was ever put in. Did I mention they skipped a week that I PAID FOR?? Very poor service. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
I also posted this information on angi and never received an apology or explanation.

They take a surface picture at the end with the pump running which causes reflections and hides any under the surface junk. I made sure this time to go home after and check the pool and took those pictures. The pool is absolutely disgusting, and is not swimmable. We expressed our dissatisfaction twice but to no avail. Very poor service and waste of money.

I had been having issues with my pool turning green towards the end of the week prior to the next weekly visit. Thinking I was doing something wrong I switched from chemical only to full service and left it to the professionals. The following week Tuesday 6-22 we saw (nest cameras) the pool tech arrive and leave in 4 minutes. I called Sunray and spoke with Jaime assuming that an error was made and pool tech didn’t get the notice that I switched to full service. They would simply come back and scrub the pool. As you can see in the photos this is about 2 hours after they added chemicals. Walls where green. Jaime stated his tech was on site and did clean my pool and said I was lying. I told him I have a nest camera and he didn’t come by on the 21st and on the 22nd he was here 4 minutes. story gets really long after this. Bottom line Sunray refused to acknowledge a mistake was made. He said my pool was stained not greeen and that with x amount of years he has he knows what he is talking about. Never even attempted to hear me out or call the tech and ask. Just flat out argued from the initial phone call.
FYI, I switched companies, I have no more green pool and my pool isn’t stained. It looks amazing. Jaime is rude unprofessional and this is not my first time dealing with him. He has no business answering a phone for a company. He will cost you business. If it weren’t for him I would still be with Sunray.

Our pool never has enough chlorine despite the weather (hot or cold) and has had an algae problem for well over a year. I have emailed and called several times only to be told my expectations are too high and that they have tried to accommodate me by changing technicians several times (3 over a few years). Their website said full service includes weekly brushing, chemical treatment, and vacuum (this is no longer on the website). This is not the service we were ever getting. When I asked about this I was told the website was outdated and that the brushing and vacuuming is on an as needed basis. I am certain our chronic algae problem is due to poor maintenance. I spoke to them about the black algae and was told the pool needs to be brushed regularly and treated, I thought that was what I was paying for…. In the last 2 weeks I have been treating our pool for both black and green algae and large build up of scale; it is the best it has looked in the past 2 years.
Our technician is a nice man but is not capable of maintaining a pool of this size. He doesn't come until the very end of the day and can barely walk up our driveway. He is only able to carry one, maybe 2 jugs of chlorine so that is usually what the pool gets unless I walk out and say something. He brushes the sun shelf and empties skimmer baskets. Occasionally, he has to get some leaves off the bottom. I always have to ask to have the pool vacuumed by sending an email earlier in the week or the next day after the technician has already come for the 10 minutes it takes him to dump chemicals and leave. Too many times I have been left scrambling to clean the pool before a party. The most recent was a few weeks ago and I emailed early in the morning the day before my scheduled service.

When we hired this company and paid for "full service" the expectation was the pool would be cleaned, brushed and chemically maintained on a weekly basis. I shouldn't have to call or email to request these services as they are not above and beyond the maintenance of a pool.

We are small business owners ourselves and customer service is of the upmost importance. You are seriously lacking in this department. We have canceled our service.

Michael Hayes rated it 1/5: I do not recommend this company to anyone. They have been “cleaning” our pool for a year or so. Two months ago they told us we needed a new filter. We agreed, didn’t question the price but the filter was never ordered and to this day not shown up. The last three weeks the service has gotten progressively worse. They decided to raise their monthly rate to $220 which they justified by the increased pricing on chemicals. We agreed, however since the day they raised the rate the pool guy claimed to be adding chemicals each week. Our pool is completely green. We were told the owner Mike would come today to install the filter and fix the situation. Mike came today but spent exactly 3 minutes in the backyard and did absolutely nothing. He said that he is the owner and comes to look so he can guide his guys and that he doesn’t do the work. Mike has forgotten about how to take care of his customer! I gave this one star because there isn’t an ability to give negative stars.
Dexton Shores rated it 1/5: Totally agree with Esra—Not worth the headache! They did a complete pool remodel & said it would be done by November. In March of the following year, we were still waiting with the pool empty all winter. They finally finished by end of March & did the plaster on a rainy drizzling day leaving blemishes in the plaster. A little over a year later, cracks started appearing from the top of the stairs where they installed a tanning deck & the cracks ran all the way down to bottom of pool. Started leaking 1/2 to 3/4 inches per day, so now I’m back to square one. Very disappointing! Don’t expect quality repairs from this company nor satisfactory communication during the very long process nor any kind of warranty after 12 mos. on all the gunnite they shoot that ends up leaking. Substandard workmanship…
Doug Parfrey rated it 1/5: I do not recommend Poolside Services to anyone. Mike was pleasant enough when he came out and took a look at my spa leak. He was given a leak detection report on the spa and said he could do the repair. He gave me a quote, which I agreed to and asked for half deposit down to do the repair. (seemed reasonable to me). After a lot of back and forth, Mike finally sent somebody to do the repair. His technician dug a hole and repaired a 90 degree joint on the plumbing at the back of one of my spa jets. Even though the leak detection report found the leak inside the spa jet wall with pictures showing the leak. His technician was there about an hour. I have a camera in my backyard so I know exactly how long he was there. The next day the spa was still leaking. I asked Mike to come back and take a look and see what he could find. After a couple days back and forth again, he said he came by and looked and that everything looked okay, which was a blatant lie. I have video footage of Mike walking to the front of my house and then for some reason turned around and never going into the backyard. I asked him about it and he said oh yeah I didn't check it because I couldn't get in. Another lie the gate was unlocked the entire time. Mike then continued to not return my calls or texts nor my requests for a corrected invoice for a fair amount of the work done. I would have been happy to pay for the hour worth of labor and the part that was replaced. Nothing. No response. I still have not been refunded anything from the company. I am guessing the job turned into something bigger that Mike did not want to take on, which is fine. Just be honest with your customer.
This is an unprofessional group; completely unresponsive, and lies to their customers.
Leonard Miller rated it 1/5: I left 1 star so I could leave a review. Avoid this “company” ‼️ They promise and NEVER deliver. Here are multiple reasons:
1: NEVER answer their calls.
2: Chris their pool tech doesn’t want to put the work in. Drain the pool is his answer to EVERY problem.
3: They ghost you for months at a time, while your pool goes green.
4: If they had done the job, We would be able to get in our pool. Instead they disappear , while your pool gets greener.
5: I am reporting them to the BBB and going on YELP!

Jeff came over assessed the situation and added a powered chemical and gave me recommendations to maintain it. After a couple of days, it is turning blue again. It is still in the process of clearing up, but it saved a lot of trouble and time. Thank you!

He is incredibly responsive and goes above and beyond with his expertise of pool systems. On his second visit, he got my saltwater levels back up to where they were supposed to be (120lbs of salt!). I called around a lot to get different quotes, and his prices are very competitive with easy electronic payment. Thanks for all you do, Pool Guys!

I knew nothing about pools, it was filled with leaves, and the water was a deep, dark green so murky that you couldn't see the bottom of the deep end. After a recommendation from a neighbor I called Jeff and the Pool Guys. On his first visit, Jeff made a plan to get the pool back in working order and even spotted a potential issue with the pump clock which saved me from further damage. Pricing was very fair and he even lowered the cost of a service when the circumstances changed.

Brian took good care of it from the beginning and our pool turned into a clean beautiful one in no time. Recently, after a night of very heavy rain we woke up to a pool full of mud. He asked us to be patient and he was right, again he turned our pool into a clean beautiful one. We are very satisfied with the service he is providing. If you are looking for a pool cleaning company, you found the right one. We highly recommend the pool professor!

They are super responsive and knowledgeable. Plus their rates are reasonable. Most importantly they have addressed and fixed every issue we have encountered the first time and provided direction on how to maintain and prevent it in the future. Honestly, I can’t say enough and Brian and his team. Don’t waste your time and money with anyone else.

Patty C rated it 1/5: Called this place in December to inquire about installing a heater into an existing pool. Was told to send photos via phone which I did the same day. Got a response sayings pictures are great.. will speak with technician and get back to you. One month later, I follow up to see if there was any conclusion about it. Response: "We have all been hit with the coronavirus and have been out." That was it. No apology that the ball was dropped or offer to check into it. I understand COVID slows things down, but it's not an excuse to not follow up with someone for an entire month. Bad customer service.
