And scheduled the installation to be done quickly. This is very important to me as I live in an area that is already experiencing freezing temperatures.
    One Source Home Service scheduled a technician to come out the same day I contacted them. Brandon arrived in the time frame expected. He cleaned and inspected the heater. He took pictures of the motors, blower, circuit board, etc… He used these to explain why the heater wasn't working and what it would take to get it functional again. He was professional and pleasant. He gave me the information I needed to make a decision on how to proceed with no pressure.

    Daniel and Terrance installed a new heating unit for me today. They worked efficiently and competently. The unit is working great. With the temperatures dropping into the 20's at night and colder weather in the forecast, I am so happy that One Source Home Service has my home warm and comfortable.

I was told in advance a plumber would have to reinstall the toilet and sink and I have (now had) a membership with One Source so I booked an appointment. The original appointment was canceled due to challenges during flooring (not related to the work, just the house) and called again when I had a good idea of completion. The next appointment was delayed due to One Source not having personnel to handle the work and I agreed (reluctantly) to a new appointment the following week. That appointment was today. They called around noon to ask if they could show up early and then showed up within the appointment window (not early). Looked at the work to be done and quoted me $1100. Note, I'm not asking for a new toilet, sink or washer, just a rehookup of the existing equipment. Never again will I use them!

It also took several service calls because they only troubleshoot one thing at a time. My original service request said the water didn't pump from the bottom of the dishwasher onto the dishes and it didn't drain. The technician came and found the hose was split that went to my garbage disposal so he ordered another hose. He said he would troubleshoot why it wouldn't pump when he came back. Then it took almost a month and a half to get the parts he needed and they wouldn't schedule a follow-up until I had the parts in hand. It was another three weeks after the parts arrived before he came to resolve the issues. My frustration of being a disabled senior citizen and dealing with ridiculous refusal to find out what it takes to fix it and making sure it was all handled in one shot, as it is everywhere else I ever lived besides New Mexico, means I don't have a very high opinion of your company. Some of it is lack of personnel some of it is about other problems. He could have ordered the pump assembly the first time he was here if he had actually checked it out and determined all of the issues. My dishwasher would have been fixed a long time ago.

He apologized for the inconveniences we had and made every effort to address our concerns. I think this company is making the necessary efforts to provide better service. I would consider using their services again.

    I have had issues with my GE refrigerator that is less than three months old. This company was hired through GE to come fix my refrigerator. When they came out the first time they only diagnosed the issue and did not fix it. Upon calling GE again and getting another appointment scheduled, for two weeks out because that was the earliest they could be available, they showed up early before the scheduled appointment time. They attempted to leave a note at the door saying “sorry I missed you.” I was able to catch the repairman before he left the area. I explained that I thought the appointment time was scheduled for later. The repairman said they should have contacted me to change the appointment to earlier. This obviously did not happen. He stayed to repair the fridge. I was told I needed to empty the fridge completely which would not have been an issue if I would have been instructed to do so before hand. Luckily, I have a freezer in the garage and a cooler I was able to put food in. The repairman asked me what the diagnosis of the refrigerator was since I was still using it. This is information they should have known before coming out to repair the refrigerator. I explained the fridge has a Freon leak and isn’t cooling properly. Again, this company diagnosed that a few weeks prior. After about three hours I asked if he was able to fix the issue and he said he didn’t know he was just replacing everything. I am not sure if this repair will be effective but the service was unsatisfactory.

  • Diane rated it 1/5: Horrible company. Avoid using them in New Mexico! My wall oven was running 150 degrees too hot. They replaced board and sensor, taking more than 4 weeks and 2 appointments. Now it runs 150 degrees to cold. Warranty company will not let me use anyone else. I asked for a different technician, but they would not. The technician blames my two digital thermometers and left without testing. The pics register temp after oven has been on for 2 hours and I did not open the oven.. Now he says he has to "rediagnosis". Why couldn't he diagnosis when he was here the first 2 times. They also do not honor the warranty company (AIG/Whirlpool) appointments or tell them they changed the appointment. Again, avoid this company. Plenty of better companies than them.

That was refreshing, after having several salesmen-type people from other businesses. Joel and his partner came to do the install, they were on time and very focused on their job. A few days later a fuse popped on our furnace (not their fault, whoever previously hooked up our thermostat made this mistake) and Scott came out immediately that day to fix it at no cost.
    Best service and quality. I really appreciate you guys!

They were reasonably priced (not the cheapest or most expensive)… they did what they said they would do and ensured the job was done right! With that history, I used them for replacing my furnace.     Recently we decided to upgrade our furnace to a more efficient furnace. Their sales consultant, Scott B., provided the pros/cons of each furnace option. His thorough, no high-pressure presentation helped us pick the best option for us.
    Dan B. & his team were right on time. The team was professional, courteous & took the time to explain the operation of the furnace & attached humidifier. Protective covering was placed on our stairs during the installation of the new furnace.
    Our sales consultant, Scott B. stopped by during the installation to see how things were going. Additionally, John D., Home Heating Service’s install manager came by to check on the installation progress.

In the end, he did not attached the exhaust hose back on the dryer. When I called to have him return to fix it, they never showed up. No follow up either. . Terrible service!

I've called several times to order installation but the computer has been down… it just goes on and on. I have 2 homes, both have Kenmore appliances however, I doubt I'll ever order them again. I am VERY frustrated with the service. Way too much trouble and time!!

When I finally called to have them come out again, they can't get me in before my existing warranty expires. What a joke.
  • David Dinan rated it 1/5: This place is interested in selling you an over-priced warranty. They charged me $350 to replace a $10 sensor probe in my oven. I unsuccessfully tried to purchase the probe myself twice and finally just called them knowing I would likely be ripped off. I didn't expect to be ripped off to this extreme. It was a 5 minute job. He may have taken longer, but it was a 5 minute job. The appliance companies really go out of their way to make purchasing replacement parts difficult and confusing. The 2 sensor probes I bought had the wrong connections.
    He called me when the job was done saying it was $350 or if I bought a $50 a month warranty he'd knock that down to $200.
    If I had it to do again, I simply would have thrown the oven in the garbage and bought a brand new one. All this for a faulty $10 sensor probe.

I had called because the HVAC system in the house which was 21 years old had failed and I was looking to replace the entire system. He walked me through all my options, costs, and spent a significant amount of time explaining the differences between systems. Scott was extremely helpful and did not make me feel any pressure to make a decision. After a bit of internal discussion, we decided to go with the option that Comfort By Design had suggested.
    Less than two weeks later and the team is here installing the system. The team doing the install. Anthony and Jeremy have been working here at my location all day and Jon and Joe joined than for part of the day. They are very professional and explained the entire process to me ahead of time. They removed all the old equipment, and everything was pretty much perfect when they left. They did have to cut a few holes in the ceiling to route an exhaust vent, so people are scheduled to come back and repair that. Once everything was done Jeremy walked me through the new system and I probably asked more questions than he wanted but he patiently answered every one.
    The system is installed, the install area is clean, and I am able to use my AC again. I’m anxious to see how my new 98% efficient heater works in the fall as well. Thanks a ton, to Comfort By Design for making this an easy and quick process. You guys are the best.
  • Brian Schmitt rated it 5/5: We asked Comfort by Design to give us an estimate on replacing a 17-year-old, 2 zone HVAC system consisting of 2 furnaces and 2 air conditioners. Scott was extremely thorough in laying out all the options, explaining furnace and air conditioner efficiencies, and the pros and cons of various equipment configurations. He obviously cares about his customers and configuring the best system for their needs and budget.
    Installation took several days in hot, dirty conditions in the attic, basement, and outside. The installation team of Jeremy, Mike, and Jessie did a fantastic job. It wasn’t a simple installation, and they did their best to keep disruptions to a minimum. When finished, Jeremy performed a complete walk-through, explaining the final steps needed for some electrical work and the inspection.
    Overall, we are very pleased with the results and would highly recommend Comfort by Design.

I was pleasantly surprised because not only was he professional, he was knowledgeable, explained everything in detail what my problem was , showed me the parts, had the parts on hand , told me what caused the problem and how to prevent the problem from happening again. The price was very affordable and to too things off, he cleaned up behind himself and noticed I have young grandchildren and announced the vacuum would make some noise so that they wouldn’t be startled and did all this with a smile on his face. He asked if I needed anything else while he was there and he checked my ice maker making minor repairs on that too. I would use their service from now on for all my appliance needs

He corrected the problem with the washer dryer and gave me a couple option regarding the issue with my dryer. He saved me money by suggesting an option to simply disconnect the steam option on my dryer as a valve was faulty and it was a feature I had never used anyway. He could have gone a head and repaired the faulty valve that provides a steam drying mode and would have made a better profit, but chose to act in the customers best interest and give me an options that would be best for me. I really appreciate his honesty and integrity and is now my new go-to for appliance repair company. It is clear to me why his reviews are stellar. He’s the real deal and a refreshing experience after the price gouging treatment I’d received from a plumber just the day before.

After calling multiple other vendors that gave me an estimate of 14 plus days out for service…Drew and and his team showed up within a few days and had our oven back up and running like new. I think Drew said it best at the end when I thanked him for everything, he said said…this business doesn't have to be complicated . And that's exactly what they made the experience, not complicated! Not complicated in their pricing, time flexibility and professionalism. Will definitely be using them again!

REGINA REYES rated it 1/5: I will never purchase a Sears Appliance agreement or extended warranty again! When I call to make a service appointment, the wait was long on the phone, and they are always trying to sell me more services I do not want. They are relentless. Then, after you make the appointment, you find out that the appointment is not real. The actual service company will call you and tell you that you really do not have the appointment and you have to set up another one with them. At that point, you have already made arrangement to be off from work to make sure you are home for the repair.
I made the appointment for a maintenance on my refrigerator, and they never showed up. I told them I had the appointment scheduled 8-12pm. They said they do not even start until 9am and they did not know when the technician was coming. I had errands to run, and I asked when I should be back since I was most likely going to be the last appointment. They gave me a 2-hr. window to do errands. I asked about rescheduling, they said I did not need to, and he would be there. He never came or called. What a waste of my time.

He then scheduled a follow-up visit to install the module upon delivery. Since the module is a simple pull-and-plug replacement, I did it myself when the module arrived in the mail. I then cancelled the follow-up visit online. On the day of the previously scheduled, and cancelled, appointment I received a call from a Sears technician who was still scheduled to come to my home for the plug-in of the replacement module. I told him that I had already cancelled the appointment online and he stated that he had not been notified of the cancellation. Bottom line – communicating with Sears appliance repair online doesn't seem to do any good in as far as actually cancelling a scheduled visit from a technician. I still can't determine if I was charged for the cancelled visit or not. Sears needs to buck-up their internal communications processes to include online activities.

  • Tamara Baldwin rated it 1/5: The foreign person after being asked at least 5 times not to try and sell me anything completely ignored my requests and sounded like a robot. I could barely understand him. He was the most aggressive salesperson I’ve ever dealt with. I was furious when I hung up.

    I waited all day from 8-5 on the day of my appointment which took 3 weeks to get, and they never called or showed up. They rescheduled me by EMAIL on a day I work over a month away. No calls, no care, and they tried to get me over and over to put every one of my appliances on Sears warranty and pay $49/month. I called a woman who fixes ice makers and she charged me $125. The same price it costs for them to walk through the door. I will NEVER use Sears again for any reason. Ever. Put Americans back on the phones and knock off the obnoxious over selling.

One of the parts arrived before the visit and the second was on back order. No one showed up for the visit that I waited for for 4 hours. When I called they told me the reason no one showed up was because the second part didn't arrive. They did not contact me to cancel the appointment.
    When the second part came in the tech came out and the part did not completely fit so the tech chiseled it to make it fit. It broke after 1 month. When I called to have someone come out to replace it (after 3 hours and 4 people) I was told it was not under warranty. I purchased the extended warranty a few months prior. I would think that the part should be under warranty without the extended warranty or should be covered by the extended warranty. THE WORST SERVICE EVER! Now I have a broken top dishwasher rack and had to call a local company and start the process all over again and pay the new service a service fee to come out plus parts.

    Like most companies, they gave us a window of arrival. Well, unfortunately the technician had a long day and our window of arrival was about up (3pm-7pm.) Right when we started to assume they may not show we received a call and an email saying that he was running late and could either a) reschedule for tomorrow morning, or b) come around 8pm. We needed the issue resolved asap because this property is a vacation rental. The technician still made it out and diagnosed the issue which we appreciated so much!! The part was ordered within 1 business day. The technician fixed it and charged accordingly. All in all, this experience made me re-trust the work of service technicians. I think as Americans we often feel like, "well, I'll just go buy a new one." But this proved to me that it was worth fixing. No, it's not "cheap" (we spent a total of $229) however, a new, comparable dishwasher would have been $700, plus tax, then the hassle of delivery, getting rid of the old one, new hoses, downtime, etc. In the end, I'm so glad we called Appliance Works.
    I don't remember the technician's name, (there's a little bit of a language barrier,) but he was very professional and worked hard.

(although, I did use their web site email option as the first contact, and when I didn't receive a reply,, I called, got voice mail, and received a prompt call back, and an appointment within a few days was scheduled). I requested a call prior to my window of time in which the repair person would show up, that happened, and repairman Teylor came as scheduled. Honestly, when I first heard Teylor's voice on the phone, I was a bit concerned because he sounded younger than I expected an experienced repair person would be. We are a shoeless home, and so when I offered Teylor booties, he said, how about if I just remove my shoes, and we were off to a great start. As Teylor began to examine the washer, relating to me what he was finding each step of the way, I was super impressed with his skill and knowledge. Gone was any worry that he was too young to have expertise. It was super apparent that he knew and could explain in lay terms exactly what was going on with the washer. Ultimately, hopes of an easy fix were dashed, he was completely honest about the costs to repair versus replace, and when it was evident we needed to shop for a replacement washer, Teylor gave us technical details about the different ways washing machines are built that enabled us to make an informed choice about purchasing a replacement machine. Not only all of that, but Teylor was super friendly and it was very apparent he wanted to help us make the best decisions, not just what was best for him or his boss's company. So grateful to Reliable Appliance for sending Teylor our way. The $88 service fee was well worth the education we received on what to do next (the fee would have been waived if it had made sense to have the repairs done by Reliable Appliance rather than shop for a new machine). I highly recommend if you have an appliance repair need and can't decide whether to repair or buy new, get an evaluation first from this company.

I have a wall-mounted microwave that decided to go bad…right before thanksgiving. Anyway, today, I spoke with Paul. He gave me the best straightforward advice about how to proceed, options to consider, time for parts and repairs, replacement, etc.. He took the time, to make me really understand the options, because it was the right thing to do. I am going to do exactly what he recommended, in the exact steps, call the manufacturer, etc.. Started taking my machine apart and I told him I didn't want the porcelain cracked. He assured me he wouldn't. I offered to go get him some plastic pry bars that I had in my garage. He said he didn't need him in proceeded on with taking the machine apart. When, Vlod the repairmen looked on his phone to see how to repair and take the unit apart he ended up chipping my unit. Never told me about it until the Sunday morning I walked down and saw what was left of his repair. Paul the manager is not a businessman and offered me $25 for a chipped clothes washer top. Needless to say we didn't get along and I wouldn't have them in my house again. Would not recommend this company they're Bush League!!!
