Called and got same day, outstanding technician service from Emilio and next day AC/Furnace installation from Daniel and Fernando! My husband was out-of-town and I was nervous about having to handle this matter on my own but "Dr. Don" was very willing to talk multiple times with my husband on the phone, send photos and stick around to make sure all went smoothly.

Every time we are having an issue with any of our appliances, we call Mr. Don and it’s taken care of. We appreciate the crew at the APC.

Then on the way out, he mentioned they repair all sorts of appliances…so I quickly asked if he wouldn’t mind taking a look at my freezer, which he diagnosed immediately, and ordered the part for there on the spot. And when he was don’t with that, I asked him to look at a steamer that is part of my oven, and without hesitation, he checked that out!! Such a great experience! I received a text message the day prior to the appointment with a photo of the technician and the Covid protocols they follow. When two of the repair companies I contacted dropped the ball, my home warranty company referred Mr. Appliance to me, and within 24 hours they were here, provided an estimate, repair was approved and the repair was completed.

The morning of 12/9/22, service manager, Chris, called us to let us know he was on his way, and arrived promptly as promised. He came with all tools and parts necessary to complete the original repair, as well as a positive and helpful attitude. He also brought a new panel to install to replace the panel damaged by the previous technician's error.

Before starting the work, Chris clearly explained what he would need to do to complete the repair, and even took the time to show us the work he did- thanks to this we are now better educated should we encounter similar issues in the future!

After completing the repair, Chris ran the dishwasher on Express to ensure everything was working as intended.

Pricing was more than fair, and our dishwasher is working better than ever!

Mr. Appliance tech diagnosed our malfunctioning dishwasher on 12/1/22, the diagnostic visit cost $119. During the visit, he told us we would need to have a part replaced, but it would need to be ordered and likely more expensive than buying a new dishwasher, estimated costs under $600. After doing some research, we found to replace our machine for a new one (same model) would cost over $1000. We decided to proceed with repair and scheduled service for 12/5/22 (CORRECED DATE- original review incorrectly listed 12/15).

On 12/5/22, same tech arrived (Jim), and started to attempt the repair. The work did not last long before he stopped and told us the repair could not be completed because the counter needs to be removed. He said this would be very expensive and we could call back once the counter is removed to complete the dishwasher repair. He left with our dishwasher door no longer functional, in addition to the still unaddressed prior issue.

If the counters prevent the work, this should have been identified during the initial diagnostic visit. And at the very least, the tech should have restored our dishwasher to the state he found it in upon arrival for the repair.

A service manager is scheduled to meet with us on 12/9/22 to resolve the situation. Review will be updated following the visit.

Ronald Payne rated it 4/5: Getting the service scheduled thru Sears/ Kenmore was a four month nighmare. Repeated calls and promises that someone would call to schedule an apointment went unanswered. Finaly after four months of calling got an apointment scheduled, the tech called the next day, looked at the refrigerator, replaced the LG compressor in the Kenmore refrigerator,. Its working great so far. The tech was very good and professional.

I pulled the cover off it see if it was something simple I could fix. Then called Sears they get a $79 service call fee. He came out determined that the device to regulate the water level malfunctioned. Quoted $331 to fix it. Ok what can I do? I asked him to fix it. He removed the cover between the laundry basket and the tub got a long brush to reach between the tub and the basket and brushed it vigorously. After a couple of tries he apparently got the residue removed because the washer fill correctly with out over flowing. He then said it would be an additional $50 to put it back together. $381 and my washer is back in working order.
I called Sears to clarify these charges The representative couldn’t explain and said that there was not someone else to ask and nobody would call me back. I won’t call Sears again.
allanb26 rated it 1/5: I had called to have my washer fixed. I paid the $79 for them to come out. They came out assessed and ordered parts, which I paid $500 for. Set an appt. for 3 weeks out (long time without a washer, But had to wait for parts). Appt is scheduled for a four hour window on Thursday. Between 8 and 12. at 1:30 the technician shows up. He takes apart my washer and at 330 I had to leave to get my kids from school. he said he couldnt stay so he would have to come back. Soonest he can come back is next week on monday. Set another 4 hour window, An hour and a half into that window I get a call that they have to cancel my appointment and reschedule. the soonest they can come back is Friday. I was happy and told them it wasnt acceptable. All I could do is call the 800 number which is a joke. You get a hundred apologies but no solutions. I asked to have a manager or supervisor call me. They of course are not available. I was told someone would call me back. Never happened. I had to call multiple times, I was transferred during one call 8 times. Finally I said I want my money back. All of it. they were willing to refund the parts, but not the 79 service fee. I am currently fighting that because I agreed to the work, but they never followed through. I missed two days of work for this and got nothing but aggravation from it. I still have not received a call, but a service man did show up to pick up the parts so I can get my refund. Sears used to be the go to for this type of thing. I will never do business with them again. After over a month without a washer I said screw it and bought a new one.

The technician came to my house, told me the gasket needed replacing and that Sears doesnt carry the gasket, gave me the serial number for the part and charged me $135.99. price quoted was $129.

As far as corporate goes, they kept me waiting for a couple of months and were NOT going to bend on sending out a tech to install the parts that were delivered (one of which was the part I really needed) and left me hanging with nothing but 'prompt' talking points. Not the Sears of old and what a shame that is. They were once a company that care very much about customer satisfaction.

It was set a number of days in advance so I could be there for 10am to 2pm but they did not arrive till after 3:30pm. Which was past the time that I could be there so my 87 year old dad had to handle the repairman.

He found the part online, but it was cheaper to purchase a new stove range for the price of the part online. Instead of him trying to get me to purchase the part and charge me for installation and labor, he took the whole door off of one of the exact stove range that I have and charged me a much lower price than I would of paid if I would of paid for the part online, labor and installation.
Sam and his son came the next day (only because I had to go to work) removed my damaged oven door, installed the new oven door within 5 minutes and helped me replace my water filter in my refrigerator.
Sam and his son made me feel special and my needs were important. Sam went above and beyond to help me. Sam and his son were very professional, kind and extremely caring. They gave me exceptional service. I would definitely use them again and recommend them always. Thank you so very much!

They are a great team! I called and we set up an appointment for the same day. Sam and Sergio called within 20 minutes of their arrival and when they got here they were both friendly, professional and were eager to fix my washer/dryer combo. They took the time to explain what needed to be fixed, how much it would cost, approximately how long it might take and instructions for better performance of unit that I did not even realize. I joked with them and told them they should print out instruction cards for appliances they work on! I also thought I would have to wait for a part to be ordered, but in fact while they worked Sam ran out to his mobile trailer and brought the part back the dryer needed. I was elated. However, that evening the dryer was working fine then I noticed water coming from washing machine. As it turned out I was responsible for that because I possibly overloaded the unit. When I called Sam to come back and check it he told me he was going on vacation but his son Sergio could check on it. We'll they both came back no charge, courteous, still professional and let me know what I did wrong. So you see I believe they deserve possibly more than 5 stars. Dimitri my technician called before arriving and gave me his approximate time of arrival (super appreciate this juggling my work schedule). He arrived right on time and was exceptionally courteous and professional. He wore a mask coming in and considerate of our covid environment.

Here is where I really liked him, and, will go back to this company. He had to do a reset and did a condenser cleaning. He said that they board may be going, however, cautioned me before I would spend any money to see if his fixes worked. I thought that was exceptionally honest, there was no hustle for a bigger sale, just the thought that he wanted to take care of his customer. I will call Universal for any appliance issues that come up, they have earned my business forever.

Thank you for being honest and trustworthy when it would have been just as easy to charge for something and I would not have known the difference. I really appreciate that Dimitri and the company that we represents choosing to do the right thing. 🙂

JoAnn Pace rated it 5/5: I called and call was answered immediately and receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. She scheduled me for the next day and gave me the time window and said technician would call prior to coming. This morning the technician, Dimitri, called me and was able to come 20 minutes earlier than what was promised. He was prompt and very professional and polite. He immediately diagnosed the problem as a broken drain pump, took the defective part out and showed me the damage. He replaced new part and machine performed as it should. He told me how to clean the filter leading to the drain pump to prevent future damage to the new drain pump. He then cleaned my refrigerator coils while he was there and gave me a $40 discount on that service. He again showed me how to maintain the cleaning of the coils to prevent damage to the condenser. I was very impressed at this caring attitude and his advice to prevent future appliance problems! If I could give 10 stars I would! Dimitri's service was great!!

Charles Power rated it 5/5: I was referred to Universal Appliance Service by my mother in law, and I have to say their customer service was far and above my expectations. I called them today to fix my dryer, and they had someone out the same day to fix it. My wife called to tell me that it was already fixed and how nice the gentlemen was that repaired our dryer. He was even so kind to entertain our 3 year old son by letting him watch what he was doing. He even looked at our dishwasher and instead of charging us for the minor repair, he pointed us to where we could get the part and how we could fix it on our own. I am blown away that service like this still exists.

His prices are far more reasonable than the guys you hear advertised on the radio yet the quality of service is second to none. We contacted a company that we had used before with no problems and they gave us a 2 WEEK lead time after having to come check it out 2 times in a 12hr period. I searched the internet and called all over the valley and into Southern Utah looking for the part we needed with a shorter lead time; the closest I could get was 4 days! 4 days without AC in the middle of a heat wave?! Better but, NO! Contacted Brett and he was on the case! He called several of his suppliers and even came up with a couple back up solutions–something those other guys didnt even attempt or offer to do. The other guys kind of had a "sucks to be you" attitude, Brett didnt. Brett was able to locate the part for me, in town, and had it in my hands within 90 minutes of contacting him! Needless to say, his customer service and empathy with my urgency to find a solution was A+! We appreciate Brett and Certified Appliance SO much and will refer them to anyone we know. Honest, reliable, and helpful, CANT BEAT THAT!
