Jacob Lindberg rated it 1/5: Our furnace broke down during the holidays, and I expected to be upcharged for the holiday, but what I didn't expect was the technician to misdiagnose the issue with the furnace, order an unnecessary part, and lie to us that the part would arrive on the holiday itself. But it didn't stop there–when we called CenterPoint the next day asking where the part for the furnace was, they were extremely unhelpful. The customer service representative laughed and told us the parts store was closed and that we should call back tomorrow. Which we did, but the next day we were given the same answer and when I requested to speak to billing to not be charged for the expedited delivery for the part, they laughed and transferred us to billing two separate times, knowing that they were closed and we would be disconnected (it wasn't until our third call that a customer service representative told us they were closed). Long story short, we ended up having to call a local technician and cancelled the HSH we had signed up for when our furnace stopped working. The local technician let us know that they had misdiagnosed the problem, probably in order to upcharge us for the part. We were charged less to fix the furnace than we were charged for the misdiagnosed visit. On top of this, it was during the coldest streak of winter so we ran the house on space heaters for three days, which I'm sure CenterPoint loved. Have very little hope that a company this dishonest makes this right. Have already had customer service supervisors lie about leaving voicemails for follow up. Beware of this company, go local, and it'll save you time and money in the long run.

  • Justin Jackson rated it 5/5: What can I say, 30 year's as a customer and have had only one complaint in that time frame. As a homeowner, this is peace of mind you cannot live without. The preventive maintenance calls have extended the life of my HVAC/water systems. Keeping my family free to worry about other life events and security to know we are covered with all our home appliances. Thank you for year's of great service
  • Braden Carpenter rated it 2/5: While it is convenient to pay a monthly fee to be able to have a technician come out and service my appliances whenever they stop working, it is EXTREMELY disappointing that EVERY time I call to request a service, I must wait 3-4 days, OR LONGER, for a technician to come. Most recently, my home’s HVAC system is not putting out heat and I have to wait over a WEEK to have someone come out due to “high service volumes, lower priority, and the Thanksgiving holiday week”. This is entirely unacceptable especially with two little children in the house. If the technicians weren’t so efficient, I would cancel the service and save over $900.00/year.
  • Dana M. Poster rated it 2/5: It is incredibly convenient and liberating to feel like I can have a technician come out for "free." Also, generally the technicians do good work and are knowledgeable. That's why there are two stars.
The other three stars are not selected because it's only marginally worth it. I've been paying for the repair plan service for many, many years but have only used it a handful of times. After my recent experience, I'm considering dropping HSP. I will certainly drop it once I replace all of my covered appliances.

Recently, I called for furnace service. The technician indicated that my furnace is old I should consider signing up for the Replacement Plan. But he also told me my furnace could last through the winter or five more years. Because of other life events, I didn't have the chance to research and sign up for the replacement plan for a few weeks. A few days after signing up, I called for furnace service again but this time the technician tagged my furnace and said I could no longer use it. Because the first technician wasn't as diligent as he could be, I didn't know my furnace was so close to death. I could have replaced it during a warm month but instead, it died when the weather dropped to single digits and there was a Thanksgiving holiday to schedule around.
Additionally, if the first technician had indicated that my furnace needs were dire and I should sign up for the Replacement Plan right away, at least I would have been able to use it. However, because he led me to believe I had time, I waited until after my wedding to do the research. Had he told me to sign up asap, I would have made past the 30 day waiting period and been able to use the service.

  • Michael Walters rated it 1/5: The Home Service Plan and technicians are excellent. Top notch. However, you should not use Home Service Plus to purchase and install an appliance. They contract that out. And they don't properly vet the people they use. And when something goes wrong, you're screwed. They used River City Plumbing and they botched the job and refused to communicate with us. Ghosted. I had to pay a actual plumber to fix the problem for $600. He said it was the worst installation he'd seen and would be embarrassed if that was his work. Two parties makes for deniability when something goes wrong. Go to a reputable company and deal directly.

They offer a wide range of services, including refrigerator repair, oven repair, and washing machine repair. They also offer a variety of discounts, so be sure to ask about them when you call.

Alex Walker rated it 5/5: After working with another company ended up with our washer working for a week before breaking again (after it took them a month to repair it), we went with Cities Appliance Repair. They were able to get out within 24 hours, quickly diagnose the problem, and get back to us with a solution in the same day. While they might not have necessarily been able to do it this quickly without the work the first company did, we really appreciated their promptness and professionalism, which were lacking in the other company. I would definitely recommend Cities.

  • Stillwater Rentals rated it 5/5: Jared F is a great tech. Very friendly and personable, very skilled and quickly identified the issue and got us back up and running in no time. I was curious to learn what was wrong and he did a great job explaining and showing me. I had Watson’s appliance out already and they installed parts not needed, and couldn’t get it running. Thank you Jared and Twin Cities Appliance for being able to find the issue and fix at a very reasonable price. Will only use them moving forward
  • Dianne Jentilucci rated it 5/5: My husband and I moved into our newly purchased townhome last Friday and on Monday evening discovered that the less than one-year old Whirlpool side by side had frost buildup in the back of the freezer side and the refrigerator was not cooling properly. So, Tuesday morning I checked with Whirlpool for the authorized repair business and found Twin Cities Appliance Service. I called them and Ruth got Ryan out the same day. Ryan worked his magic and this morning we had nicely frozen food in the freezer and beautifully cooled food in the refrigerator. Excellent service and follow-up. Thanks much to Ruth and Ryan!!! I work for a real estate agent in a large brokerage firm and I will be recommending Twin Cities Appliance Service through our network! Dianne
  • Chris Dexter rated it 5/5: Dave provided excellent service! He called ahead to confirm that he was 15 minutes away, showed up in the service window, brought in a pad to work on to keep our counters clean and free from damage. He completed the recall related repair quickly, showed me what he did, and cleaned everything up neatly.

That wasn't even the best part of Dave's service today. This employee loves to work for Twin Cities Appliance! He complimented and seemed proud of the companies family heritage, spoke highly of the companies commitment to health insurance, and I get the idea that this company goes the extra mile for their employees. Quality work is done by quality technicians who work for quality companies like Twin Cities Appliance!

  • Jon Jackson rated it 5/5: When I called for extended warranty service on my dishwasher, Twin Cities Appliance did a great job communicating at every step of the process.

I’m so accustomed to having bad experiences – this went how everything should go!

The part that was likely to be the culprit was shipped in advance to my house ahead of my appointment which saved time in not having more than one service visit.

Aaron came out to perform the service. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous and had the new part installed very quickly. He also replaced a part that is known to fail and cause leaks. I appreciated his quick work and attention to detail.

Very pleased with the entire experience, thank you Twin Cities Appliance Service!

Patricia rated it 1/5: Scam. Absolute scam. I couldn't even get anything fixed. The hold times are horrible, half the people that I do talk to are as confused as I am. I've finally had it and canceled my services after a 1 year contract. Called and paid off the rest of the year (Nov 2022) and specifically told them to not renew, and will be cancelling. They said ok, and I thought that was it.

2 weeks later, I got a letter stating that they renewed our contract. What?? I called, again on hold for the longest time, and they said "Oh we send those out automatically! We still have you here as canceled!" Sure, why would I doubt that? Well, just yesterday, I got an email asking for payment for December. I cannot be on hold again for something that you can't do right. You're not paying for the time I'm wasting on you. I will be leaving 1 star reviews on every platform I can find to warn others about this scam.

  • kapa parmar rated it 5/5: KB service did the analysis and repair. Went above and beyond. Credit where credit is due, the engineer who helped me was knowledgeable and explained to me the problems. He fixed them and boiler system started up great. Initially I had another company do my yearly maintenance and recommend a new boiler! Cant beat old skool boiler engineers.
  • Edgecrusher- TWR rated it 1/5: This service is complete and utter garbage. Our A/C went out and the earliest appointment to just inspect the unit was two weeks out when the temperatures were going to reach the mid 90's. I assume even after that appointment there would have been weeks worth of run-arounds and other nonsensical things taking place before our air-conditioning was actually going to be serviced. We just payed a local service company to fix the issue in a reasonable amount of time. The idea of this program is nice, the functionality of it is laughable. Save your money and find a real home warranty company, HomeSmart will be a tragic disappointment.
  • J Dogg rated it 1/5: I would do zero stars if I could.. I signed up for the maintenance plan, and had the air conditioning preventive maintenance done in the spring. The AC was working great prior to the preventive maintenance, and the report they gave me said the air conditioning was in good condition. However after they left it didn't work. I called back and was told that I didn't have the proper plan for repairs so they couldn't send anybody out and look at it. I ended up working with a different HVAC provider and they determined the issue quickly and fixed it. I canceled the HomeSmart service in June after getting the runaround from them, however they started charging me for it again and said that I have a one-year contract. I'm surprised to receive so much trouble from Xcel and their home Smart service given that I thought they were a responsible business partner in the community. However, with my experience it became very clear to me that they do not care about the community members and management runs the company poorly without care.
  • Kelsie Scott rated it 1/5: This service is an absolute scam. I pay for the replacement assistance program for all of my appliances, but after having to replace my A/C this summer, it is now impossible to get anyone on the phone (it's generally over an hour waiting on hold) and if I do get someone on the phone, they can never answer my questions and will not call me or email me back. I have been waiting just to get information on next steps for replacement assistance since July (it's now October) and have gotten absolutely nowhere with this company.

They have a team of experienced and certified technicians who are dedicated to providing quality service. They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of their services.

Jeffrey Higgins rated it 3/5: I sent a contact request through the website which was not returned. I then called to inquire about repairing a refrigerator. The receptionist just said "we don't service that brand" and immediately hung up on me. I was confused because the brand is clearly listed on the website as a brand they service and I was surprised to be hung up on.

*Upon further contact with Merit I was able to locate a timely email response in a junk folder. I also received an explanation on why my appliance shouldn't be repaired. I'd recommend taking the Avanti logo off the website and ask reception to be less curt.

  • melissa Davis rated it 5/5: I had a four year old fridge that all of a sudden stopped cooling. Called many places that required large fees to come out and long wait times. Called Merit and they were out the next day with only a minimal fee to come out.
After inspection the repair person discovered the possible cause but did not have the part on hand. I was frantic, not knowing how I would keep my food cold while waiting for the part. The repair person offered a temporary solution and went on their way.
Fast forward a few days our part came in and the repair person returned. After inspection noticed our fridge seemed to maintain temp.

Instead of just continuing with the expected repair, they gave me the option to hold off on the repair and see if maybe it was only a heavily frozen drain pipe.

Now most places would just continue with the repair we expected to pay for and keep on moving!

Merit went above and beyond for me and my family and for that they have my business for life!

If you are looking for an honest, dependable repair company Merit is it!

  • Daniel Morara rated it 5/5: Merit was the only service to get an appointment the next day unlike the rest who were at least 2wks out booked! Great job with diagnostics and repair in under an hour. Traverse was great, explaining the findings and what needed to be fixed. Price was very reasonable and am a happy customer! Will definitely use them again!
  • Mark Bergeron rated it 5/5: This company is outstanding. Service call charge was half the price of the bigger appliance store quotes and their service was immediate. The others wanted me to wait for several days for my service call and these guys came next day. No waiting for parts as they had it in the truck. I will use them for all my appliance repair in the future. Prompt, reliable, professional.
  • Queen San rated it 5/5: Levert was absolutely amazing! He is very knowledgeable and was able to explain everything to me in a way that I could understand. I also appreciate how quick he was able to fit me in the schedule. I would highly recommend Merit for all your appliance repair and service needs!

Stephen Holmboe rated it 1/5: I took a half day off of work for them to come between 1-5. No one ever showed, called at 4:45 and said my appointment was still active, he was probably running behind and was going to send him a message to call me for an update. At 5:30 called again and said it was still active and was going to reach out again. I never heard from the tech a nd than got a text message at 6pm saying my appointment was canceled. So unprofessional you can't even call, just a text message.

So I called them back, told the 3rd person my situation and he apologized and said he would get someone out the next day and they would call me in the morning with a time. I took another day off, no one called again, I called at 10am he said he was going to have someone call me ASAP with a time. Once again no one called, so I called again at 1pm, same BS run around no one ever came, no one ever called me back, dishwasher is still broke.

I don't want a response with the same BS email this or Facebook message someone. This company just keeps on pushing the problem off to the next person instead of actually dealing with the issue.

Don't ever buy a home warranty or any appliances from Sears, this company is a scam and doesn't care about their customers, only profits.

  • Amy Goldsberry rated it 5/5: I was assigned this company from my (worthless) home warranty company.
My expected time frame was 8-5. That is a large window for a Saturday. My technician, Vish, was courteous and called me in the morning to let me know I would be his last stop of the day.
Upon arrival to my home, he introduced himself, and asked if it was still a good time as it was a little later than anticipated. He explained the tests he was conducting and the results. I very much enjoyed talking with Vish. With 20 years experience, he is very knowledgeable and was able to explain things to me in ways I could understand (I am an nurse and not handy). If I find myself needing an appointment in the future, I will be requesting Vish specifically.
  • Greg N rated it 1/5: All I wanted to find out was what a service call costs for a treadmill. Couldn’t find it on the Website. Searched for and found a number to call. Went through an extensive menu list Just to try to reach a live person, which included at least 4 questions regarding my household and COVID- really?! Just to talk to someone on the phone? I’m guessing it’s all just in case I end up setting up an appointment, but why don’t we cross that bridge IF I decide I’m interested in your service. I hung up in frustration. Never spoke to anyone. I will never Try to use this service again due to this experience and my last negative experience with Sears Home Repair (long service call and return call timelines combined with not being able to talk with people, including your repair person) . I seldom write reviews but just had to on this one! Hey Sears, I dare you to try to use your own service with better results (think “secret shopper”). You’ll see exactly what I mean.

  • C Win rated it 1/5: I waited two weeks for an appointment to get my refrigerator looked at. I received an email and text that the technician would arrive between 2:20-3:45. I left work and waited for them. I did not receive an update form them. The technician arrived at the house at 5:53. He was very nice and apologized for the delay and said that he was so tied up in the job that he could not call. I said that I was heading out for the evening and I couldn't stay. He said that I could reschedule the appointment. I then received an email saying that the technician arrived and we were not home. Hmmm I was there all afternoon. I went to try to reschedule and the earliest they could come out was in 2 and half weeks. I will find someone else to fix my refrigerator.
  • Wally Marx rated it 1/5: Tech analyzed dishwasher which did not drain and insisted that, even though the impeller of the motor worked, that it needed a new motor. Bill?. Just under $400. Now installed, the dishwasher still doesn't drain.
Brought in another appliance repair service and the problem was not the motor but the control board. Replaced, the dishwasher works well.

Does this mean my $400 went down the drain???

Charles Minter rated it 1/5: The technician who came to fix our fridge was very nice and knowledgeable, however it was scheduling through Sears Home Services themselves that was a nightmare.

Long story short, they had re-scheduled on us FOUR times and we were without a working fridge for a full month plus. The customer service department was nearly impossible to communicate with and was extremely rude. They hung up on us multiple times and quite frankly are hard to understand because they lack proper English speaking skills.

We will no longer be using Sears for our appliances.

  • Jim Kiehne rated it 4/5: Sears was responsive and I got an appointment very quickly. The technician was prompt and courteous. Unfortunately the refrigerator turned out to be unrepairable. Sears does push their contracting services very hard though.
  • Rene Grunow rated it 3/5: Snow blower repair – the second technician that came out was wonderful. Installed the parts the first guy ordered and went above and beyond to explain to me what was being done and what to do for other simple problems. The first person, was so quick to "guess" what the problem was and didn't even attempt to start the blower. After waiting all day, twice, to get the repair I doubt I would use them again.
  • Rocky Olson rated it 2/5: I was a captive audience..No one works on Samsung fridges, unless you have purchased from tht company. I made an appointment for water/ice collecting under bottom/cheese/snack tray, I knew what the problem was didn't want to tackle this one. Appointment was almost a month out, doy of get a call that tech can't make it, I figured ok, next day, day after? Nope another 3 weeks out.
I'm out of town, tech comes, repairs (?) and leaves.. I come home tray is still out, husband says it won't go in..still ice and water on bottom of fridge. I clean it out put tray back..now we wait..see if it is indeed fixed. The whole experience was hideous, no supervisor or manager to speak to, god forbid..almost 2 months to get a fix. Something else happens, we will just buy a new fridge, never Samsung. That in this day and age there aren't repair people for Samsung, and that you have to wait this long for an appointment. Poor business model poor customer service. Update..my Samsung fridge, developed the same issue, water accumulating under the tray, noticed it in February, called to see if Sear's would stand by the technician, NOPE! 90 days, I now have the same issue. I am off to buy a new fridge, since I do not want to give more $$ away in the chance I will have to experience this again. The lack of service and standing behind your company's service contract is inexcusable. I have an update, StrongHammer Appliance repair came out and solved the problem that Sears would not cover after the fact. So I think this speaks volumes!

Cynthia Benson rated it 5/5: Fantastic service! Not only did they answer right away, they booked me in next day and worked around the fact that I had a stacked set washer and dryer. They didn’t have an extra guy to take the dryer off but he was able to navigate around it and diagnose the problem without tearing things apart. I was so surprised that we are back up and running so quickly.

Nils Halker rated it 2/5: When an actual repairman came to my house, the service was good. But the phone experience was very frustrating. The person on the phone took me through about half an hour of diagnostics, and then agreed that a person needed to be sent to my house. She did NOT tell me that she had decided that the problem was a computer board. The repair man made an appointment, and I waited at home for him to show up. Two hours into the window, I called to find out the ETA, and they said, "Oh, we cancelled it yesterday because the part has not arrived yet." When the part finally arrived and the repair main came out to my house, he looked at the dishwasher and said, "It's not the computer board, your pump is broken." Another wait for the part to be ordered. When he came back to install the new pump, we discovered that Sears had the wrong model number in their system, and consequently it was the wrong pump. Another part ordered, another wait. If Sears has simply sent out the repair man in the first place, we all could have saved a lot of time and trouble.

  • Aaron Rolloff rated it 1/5: The service was terrible, from beginning to end. The first washing machine repairman made a $200 repair. After one successful load of laundry, the original problem returned. After a month – a month – during which Sears/A&E made appointments, then would cancel them with no notice, a second repairman made a new diagnosis and assured us that under the guarantee the second repair would be covered by what we had already paid. When someone actually came back, it was the first repairman again. Can you see it coming? He said the guarantee was only up to the previous amount paid, and a second repair might cost an additional $300. We declined at that point, but Sears/A&E insisted we owed them $68 for the original service call, as if we had declined the repair on the first day. Why did we owe for the service call when we agreed to the repair, it was guaranteed, and the problem was never repaired? Our experience was so bad we were willing to be ripped off by $68 to get these companies out of our lives. I will never do business with Sears again. The review won't let me publish with less than one star, but my rating would be minus 68 stars since that was the amount of my monetary loss just for calling Sears, not including the month with no washing machine.
  • Besiwa Mensah rated it 1/5: The service appointment itself went well. The technician was helpful and did his best like the 2 others before him. He tried to fix the machine with the part that was sent by Sears but could not fix it. This was the 3rd time someone had come and couldn't fix the range. And by the way there were 2 other times appointments were made and no one showed or called. So now I have a stove that does not work and the warranty people gave me the whole run around. I spent about 2 hours trying to figure out what was going to be done.

What happened was service staff said stove cannot be fixed and had to be replaced, case was closed. Warranty staff said I need to have service people come and fix the stove and meanwhile I'm the one that's suffering.

I finally got a customer service person who took time and explained what was going on, made an appointment which they canceled right away and she talked to another nice lady from warranty who then said she was going to process the replacement. She said I'll receive an email confirming replacement processing in 3 days but it's been 5 days now and I'm still waiting. Hope someone will do something about my situation soon. Holidays are coming….

  • Leslie Carney rated it 1/5: I waited 3 weeks for a Sears repair appointment to fix a leaking dishwasher. The technicians arrived and spent an hour with my Kenmore dishwasher and when they left said everything was fine. I ran a load later that day and found that the machine was leaking more than it was before they arrived! I called the Sears repair number again and was told that it would be another 3 weeks before they could get a repair technician back out to see what the problem is–this was only hours since their people left! It is terrible customer service making customers who received inadequate service the first time to go back to the end of the line to wait again–6 weeks to wait to have a dishwasher repaired is totally unacceptable. I have solved the problem by purchasing a new non-Sears dishwasher from a company that services the products it sells. Terrible service! Shame on Sears! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
  • Darren Tobolt rated it 1/5: Very disappointed. I tried to communicate details about my machine and problem. None of which were pushed to the repair person that arrived at my house. The tech arrived only to tell me that there were no parts made to service my machine so no repair would be possible. Then charged me the $150 diagnostic fee. This was known BEFORE he was sent to my house to collect $150. My machine is an front loading LG and not more than 15 years old.

Bill Kelley rated it 1/5: My dishwasher went out December 17th 2020. A service person came out the first week of January 2021. I was told they are waiting for parts. The last week of February I contacted customer service. I was told I would be contacted by phone or email within 72 hours. After 4 days I called back and was told it may take up to five days. I contacted customer service a week later and they told me to wait 2-5 more days and that my dishwasher will be replaced. It has been nearly 4 months without a dishwasher WITH an extended service warranty. I'm still waiting for that phone call. As a lifelong Sears customer I am very frustrated with my experience and may be moving on to Home Depot.

  • Eldon Burow rated it 2/5: The technician that came out was very nice. He said that he had never been trained on our appliance but whatever training they had was from YouTube. Not a good sign. Parts were ordered and we later found out that one of them was not needed as the issue was resolved without repair. Scheduled appointment was not kept because we didn’t have the part we did not need. Appt. rescheduled but no one showed because I was told not all the parts had arrived. Agent was informed, again, the part was not needed. I was informed of an appt. 2 weeks out….without my input. When I went to do an online chat, the agent informed me we had no service because all the parts had not arrived. This is a really poorly managed business. I won’t be ever using Sears again. And I hope I get my stove repaired because I am sitting with a very expensive part….to be installed by someone who is nice but not experienced.
  • Rod Palmer rated it 2/5: Upper rack dishwasher repair. Did not have the parts needed. 2nd technician was fairly new and had not worked on the problem before. It took 2 hrs to repair. He installed 2 roller stops it looked like with difficulty. Pulled the rack out 3 times with the stop’s working. Next time we pulled the rack out they both fell off. You tube makes it look easy to put stops. Not so much, for me anyway. So, 2 trips, $300 later sill hard to use the upper rack. Technician said he mostly learns on the job. He was friendly and honest, so the 2 star rating. Very disappointed they don’t know how to repair their own Sears appliance. No more Sears appliance purchases for us.

  • Kathy Robison rated it 1/5: I called the number for this repair service shop, as the water dispenser
on my Kenmore refrigerator is not working. I got an automated Sears robot, so I had to go through about 8 difference clarifying question/answers before I was told of appointment options. Initially I was told I had an appointment the next day – window was 1-5PM. Then I was told I would be connected with an actual person. There was a beep and I was disconnected.
When I called again, after another 8 questions, I actually talked with someone at the shop, who said that 1-5pm today would work and, if I didn't hear from them by 2pm today, to call the number again. I just did that. After answering the 8 questions for the third time (!) was told that the first available appointment was August 26th!!!. At the same time, I got an e-mail saying I needed to re-schedule the appointment for August 26th!!
I spent at least 20 minutes on the phone answering pre-recorded questions! The person I finally spoke with assured me that someone would be able to be here today. I have been waiting…. No one has called or shown up and I am not even able to get through to a real person today, just another recorded set of delays!!!
The robotic system you use is 10 times slower than an actual person would have been. Your robots do not seem to communicate with your actual service centers, or vice versa. They are a very poor way to communicate with your customers. (I have been a Sears customer for 50 years and have never experienced this level of dysfunctional communication).
I will have to make an appointment for 2 weeks from now (another example of poor repair service)(what if this were water pouring out underneath the fridge because the water line is broken?). I will, however, be looking for someone else to do this repair work in the meantime!
TERRIBLE communication and TERRIBLE customer service on your part!
  • Cheryl Heitkamp rated it 1/5: First person identified the reason for the noise as a "damper motor" and ordered part which came in a week. Second guy came to do the repair and afterward the same noise persisted. Third guy came to try again (hours late) but replaced the part again, and after many hours of effort the problem persisted. In his opinion, the problem is as not repairable due to the built-in nature of the fridge. I agreed to pay the diagnostic fee but had paid for the whole job up front and after many phone calls, and many many minutes on hold and being transferred to multiple departments I was told I would be refunded. I waited over a month and never was. Finally, I disputed the charges on my credit card. Initially this also failed as Sears rebutted with "the problem was solved". On further appeal, I was refunded less than $200 on a $500+ job. Never once did anyone with decision-making power at Sears, want to hear my story.

I waited to write a review until the final credit card dispute was settled just in case things worked out well, but nope. This is not a good company–and I had been a member of their service program (with a different property) until this debacle. I cancelled that in a hurry! Run away!

D&T Appliance Service is a family-owned business that has been providing appliance repair in the Minneapolis area for over 30 years. They are known for their quality workmanship, fair prices, and friendly service. Customers appreciate their knowledge and experience, and say that they are always able to resolve any issue quickly and efficiently.

David Boeser rated it 1/5: There was a flood from a city water main in my home and LG recommended D&T to look at my washer and dryer. The repair person seemed incredulous that we were even asking for help. He said "So you want me to just turn them on and make sure they still work?" No, I want you to repair them due to the amount of mud that got into them. He left after about 20 minutes. He didn't take the machines apart at all. He ran each machine for about 5 minutes and said they're fine. Then the dryer stopped working a few days later, and he came back to replace the thermostat.

The dryer "worked" after that, but we definitely shouldn't have been using it: a second flood came a few days later and so we had a different appliance repair company out to look at them. Their repairman actually took some time, disassembled the machines and said they were worse than anything he'd ever seen. This leads me to believe D&T's repairman was lazy or inept.

  • William Fuller rated it 5/5: The service technician did a fantastic job of troubleshooting and fixed the problem quickly and professionally. The "fix" was explained to me so if it happens again, I should be able to remedy the situation. Thanks Jay!
  • Jennifer Goldfarb rated it 5/5: This company is one of the most reliable and dependable companies I’ve interacted with in my 30+ years of adulting. When the original technician failed to correct our dryer issue they stepped up and went above and beyond to get us right. Joe and Amy are AMAZING! You just don’t see enough kindness and decency these days but these two have plenty! What a refreshing twist on a stressful dryer repair. I will be forever grateful. Thank you thank you thank you

  • Nick Dzandzara rated it 1/5: Absolutely horrible service. Called to have my stove top repaired. Technician stated part was no longer produced (which was fine as 3 of 4 burners still worked), What he did not share is that he broke a knob when taking the stove apart. That was almost 90 days ago. I reported the issue more than 60 days ago. The same Technician was sent out to address. He left without fixing the new issue and stated he would follow-up. No word in the past 60 days. There is no follow through or accountability taken by D&T. Called to speak to a manager today. We will see if I get a call back…….
