Jesse Aleman rated it 1/5: I've used CBS for several years now and am disappointed that I have to write this negative review. I called a month ago to schedule an appointment. They scheduled me for Tuesday, 11/8, no time confirmed. We had to take the day off from work to make sure someone would be home, but come Tuesday morning, we still hadn't been given a time of arrival. I called, got put on hold, then got dropped, and called back, only to be told that their "computer systems were down," and they couldn't confirm any appointments and that they would call back in an hour. Well, 4 hours later, I called back again to follow up and was told the same thing. I asked the office manager for the owner (Gilbert Gonzales) to call me–she said she'd tell him, but no call back from him either. I gave them the week to reach out to reschedule. They never did. I called back again today (Saturday), only to learn that they can't get me in until next Friday. They made no attempt to account for their missed scheduled service or to recognize the huge financial burden put on us with missed work.

Unfortunately, this place lost my business for their lack of customer service care. Truth be told, they also owe me and my wife a day's pay because we took off of work to wait for them on Tuesday. Never again.
Next time go with Amrak.

But they seemed the most knowledgeable and the company has been around longer than I have. So I thought, "What if I went with the cheaper, less comprehensive, installation? I'd save a buck, sure. But I'd probably also look pretty silly if my house accidentally burns down."
So I went with CBS, and I was not disappointed.

The installers, Ben and Garth, did an exemplary job replacing my chimney, the box, and installing my new stove. CBS should give them a raise, or a Home Depot gift card, or a beer. Heck, why not all three.

If your considering doing some chimney work these guys are great. Hire them.

They gave me a day they would be here to do the work, but didn't give me an exact time and told me they would call at the beginning of that week to confirm the time. Sure enough, they called Monday of this week to confirm the time worked for me. It did, so I put it in my calendar and was prepared for them to be here at 2:00pm. Garth showed up exactly at 2:00, and was very professional. He even gave me some advice of what not to burn in my fireplace. We just bought the place and so I suspected that the chimney may have already been clean, but we booked the cleaning just in case. Garth recognized that it was clean and made sure to follow up with me to make sure I didn't have any specific issues. He said "Usually when it's pretty clean we like to make sure there aren't any specific concerns" which I appreciated, and he even gave me advice regarding some trees around the chimney top that could potentially cause back drafting (I think that's what he called it) in the future. Very pleased with the service. I'll be calling them back next year for a cleaning and inspection again. Thanks Garth and thanks CBS Chimney Sweepers!

The service was fair and timely, especially during the busy season as we begin the slow move toward winter. The sweep was quick and reasonable, though Ian highly recommended it was time we have our stove replaced. He showed us where we could order stoves and have them delivered to the house, after which he would gladly install for us. Considerations for installation also included the need for a narrower diameter in chimney piping as the original set-up contributed to the old stove over-heating. On the day of installation, he showed up alone, removed the old stove, took out the old chimney piping, and installed all new pieces in less than two hours. His work was clean and efficient and his insight to all our wood-burning needs was extremely helpful. We will be calling Ian again to service our chimney this summer. This is a truly reliable business.

We also received a top quality job. Ian cleaned our chimney and installed a new gas fireplace and new glass doors. It was a difficult installation due to the existing stonework that had to be cut to fit the new doors and Ian was definitely up to the job. First Aid Chimney Care went well beyond the typical installation and we really appreciate Ian’s attention to detail. Ian was easy to communicate with and he kept constant contact with us due to lengthy pandemic-caused shipping problems.
