Justin and his partner arrived on time, explained what they were going to be doing and approximately how long it would take, they made sure to protect my wood floors as they completed their inspection and cleaning, and took photos of each concern to review and discuss it with us. A few issues were found which was to be expected in a 30yr+ home. Justin prioritized each item that needed addressed and provided me with quotes and options ensuring that I was not overwhelmed with a sales pitch. The critical items were repaired today as promised and quotes are being worked on for a future wood burning stove addition. I'm very satisfied with the professional approach to the work done today and look forward to working with the team again soon.

We had our chimney cleaned and inspected in our new home, and Jose allowed us to watch the camera feed from inside the chimney and explained everything we were seeing and answered all of our questions. While checking the exterior of the chimney on the roof, Jose also looked at our dryer vent up there, and because there were some troubling signs, he offered to do an inspection of our dryer vent system. Again, Jose showed us photos of what he saw and explained what it all meant. As new homeowners, we really appreciated the details and the patience and the thorough explanations. Jose provided a quote and proposal very quickly, and we're looking forward to working with him on these fixes. Would definitely recommend!

The install was very smooth and really well executed. The tough part was that I was dealing with very old unresolved permits on the home, and APC stuck with me through the entire process when the something seemingly simple became a bit of a paperwork nightmare (no not that form, no not that portal, that person can't sign, etc.). They were very patient and responsive through text and phone and email and did everything they could to help me close out the permit after the work (which in no way had any issues with the work done).

    The liner made all the difference in my 1947 home's ability to draw properly, even on a very hot and humid day, and if they had not been to he upstanding communicative company that they are, I'd probably still be trying to navigate the permits.

    We bought an even older home since then, so we will certainly hire them again!

They were quick, responsive, reasonably priced, and took care of the job all in one day. Victor was wonderful to work with, and the whole team was super professional, and left the place cleaner than they found it.
  • Richard Brundage rated it 4/5: I replaced my water heater and that meant I had to get a liner installed in the furnace flue. I decided to get the adjacent fireplace chimney lined at the same time. It took three days to install a new exhaust duct for the furnace and hot water heater, removed the terracotta liner on the fireplace, and install the stainless steel liners and insulate the fireplace flue. They did a good job keeping the dust under control and cleaning up and the installation looks good.
    I did have to call them back to fix the damper cable because the rebuilding of the chimney top moved the damper up about 4 inches and the cable no longer reached the bracket that holds the damper closed. I called them and they understood the issue immediately and sent two workers out the next day to fix it. They cut off the old cable and tied a new one on so it was long enough to use the bracket, but they did not adjust it properly so the damper was not fully closed when the cable was hooked to the bracket, and they left some of the frayed cable sticking out of the slug that connects the cable to the chain and handle. It was easy to use an allen wrench to adjust the location of the slug so the damper is fully closed and I used a propane torch to cut off the frayed cable end. This extra work is why I gave them 4 stars. I would use them again.

    Each of the three came out within a few days to provide a quote. I must say everyone was very professional and pleasant to deal with. However I experienced a serious road block. My home was build in 1964 and I was told that the larger matching bricks were no longer available. Well Dianna from Capitol Chimney Service refused to give up. She found a supplier who could provide the larger matching bricks at a slightly higher price then I was originally quoted. I accepted immediately.
    The work was completed on schedule and Dianna stayed in touch with me throughout the process. While the work was being completed two of my neighbors were walking by and complemented the work being done. Ironically they mentioned that Capitol Chimney had done some work for them in the past. Before I could say it they asked did I get Dianna?
    By the way CCS gave the lowest quote! I would recommend CCS to everyone in need of some chimney work.

For cleanliness and hygiene, the installers were masked when indoors and also wore booties to cover their shoes. English was not their native language, and were not able to cover a couple of my questions accurately, but the men very conscientious about their work. I had my own chimney cap that they replaced and perhaps were going to take it as scrap, but I wanted it back (it was only 2 days old) and plan to return it for refund.

    Firstly, the office staff was so kind and caring, asking questions I wouldn't have even thought of, secondly, communication from all fronts was more that I could have hoped for.
    This company does both wood and gas fireplaces, I contracted them for a gas fireplace repair and their technician, Kyle, came out. He was punctual and explained everything to me step by step. Kyle has been servicing gas fireplaces for 13 years and it shows !
    The price was very fair compared to other company's I've used but the work/service done from this company far exceeded all other company's combined. I wish I could rate them as 10 stars 🌟

Setting up the appointment was very easy, and the two individuals who came out for the inspection were very nice and responsive to my questions and concerns. However, when I was finally reading to schedule repair, it took a few calls before I was able to reach anyone and set it up. Again, once I got in touch with someone, it was a very pleasant experience. A representative even called me a day later to tell me of a cancelation so that I could move up my repair appointment. After the repair, Rooftop sent me before and after photos of the work, which I appreciated very much. However, the workmen failed to clean up debris after the job so I had to do that when I got home. Overall, I thought Rooftop did a good job and I would use them again, but they may need to hire more phone operators, or check their voicemails more often. Additionally, they need to do a better job cleaning up after a job is done.

The job ended up taking 2 extra days b/c of more problems with exterior than were discovered at the estimate. They didnt charge anymore and took their time doing it right. I feel confident that any other company wouldve ignored the problems and done a rush job rather than taking 2 extra days of work. Cannot recommend them enough.

Grant and his partner came out and did an exceptionally thorough job in providing an estimate; they gave me quotes for all the different options I had for the service I needed done. Grant was great about being clear with the work to be done, and following up. We ended up getting our chimney rebuilt from the roofline up, as well as relining one of the flues. The team they sent out did an excellent job, all in the hottest week of the summer. They communicated throughout the week on their progress, kept the work area clean, and were very courteous and conscientious when they needed to come into the house to do the inside portion of the relining. If we ever need to get the other side of the chimney relined we definitely won't hesitate to give them a call.

When I told him that it wasn't a Level 2 inspection he said the Level 1 was the same cost. Called the company to ask about the cost of a Level 1 and they simply won't give you that information.

John came out right before Christmas to make sure our fireplace was ready for the holiday. We then used him again when we were made aware by the gas company that our fireplace would need a repair. They are incredibly responsive and diagnosed the problem. They had to order a part and kept us apprised of cost and how long it would take. Then they came out to replace it. John has been the one who has taken care of the issues. When he is running late, he let you know right away. I get it, sometimes jobs take longer, but he was very accommodating in ensuring we got the work done. John gave me a detailed tutorial on how to relight the pilot light and was very patient. He was polite and a hard worker. I highly recommend them for your fireplace needs. I will use them again and again, and already have.
