They were thorough and went over every step that they would be doing as well as explaining exactly what they had done when they completed the job. After cleaning our dryer vent the walked through our house along side us checking our fire and CO detectors, fire extinguishers, and our gas fire place. They made sure that we knew exactly when our detectors need to be replaced and let us know that one of our fire extinguishers was past due for replacement. They did an outstanding job for us. He came out and cleaned out our dryer vent, installed a new vent outside and also installed a short hose to the dryer inside. The dryer is performing much better. The builder had a three foot hose attached to the dryer which Blake said was affecting the drying and he was absolutely right. He inspected our gas fireplace and also checked all the smoke alarms/C02. Excellent timely service!

I decided to call these wonderful professionals before lighting it. Turns out my fears were well founded. The fireplace built into our newly purchased house was not only “just for show,” but would have been a serious hazard to our little family. The gas lines were all hooked up well enough, but the manufacturer warning of it being only for display, and the lack of venting would have leeched carbon monoxide into our house. Matt was thorough, provided options, and justified my previous concerns. In the end we decided not to install and rebuild, but he still stuck around to explain the gas logs, their operation, and how to prevent accidental incidents that could be hazardous to our family! None of this gained his company any money, but safety was his priority. Excellent knowledge and customer service! We will call them again if ever we have a new need or decide to remodel our living room, and refer him to everyone we know! 10/10 recommend!

The guys rearranged the logs to the appropriate position because they were incorrectly placed which led to the soot on my walls. Now we can clean the walls and monitor to see if the soot returns. If it doesn’t, then we can get the room painted. The guys made sure there was no gas leak, they cleaned and vacuumed the fireplace area. Looks nearly brand new! The stone fireplace is beautiful! Knowledgeable with their profession which is so rare these days. I most certainly would recommend your company to anyone needing their Chimney Serviced.

I have used other companies in the past for chimney cleaning and nothing has come close to the job I feel was done by this company. This had to be the most detailed chimney cleaning I have seen. The technician was at my house on time and the company provided great communication before and after the visit. The cleaning and inspection took over 2 hours, in the past it was probably completed in less than 45 minutes. You get what you pay for with Owens. The technician thoroughly cleaned and inspected the entire chimney from the bottom to the top, both inside and from the roof. I was provided with a very detailed report following the cleaning along with suggestions to make the fireplace and chimney safer. Working in the fire service I can’t tell you enough how important it is to have this done annually and correctly. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone looking for a proper cleaning and inspection!

They arrived on time and were thorough, explaining everything going on with my chimney. They found a few areas around the chimney on top of the house where water could potentially seep in and they were kind enough to fix those areas, without charging anything extra. Also, as soon as they arrived and saw our fireplace, they told me that they had actually quoted me the wrong price because they thought I had a different type of fireplace and that the cost was actually about $100 less than quoted. I honestly don’t know of another company that would’ve been honest about that. It’s rare. I feel like my family and I are safe, thanks to Owens Chimney.

We called Lake Norman chimney sweep for a second opinion and after a detailed inspection and viewing the many photographs Anthony took, he informed us that our chimney was in good condition and could be used as a log burning fireplace. The project supervisor, John, was a pleasure to work with. He explained the project to me and kept me up to date as work progressed over roughly eight days. They were respectful of my garden and yard, cleaning up each night. The work was well done and gives me peace of mind that the chimney will withstand Buffalo winters.

On 11/8/22 replacement of bad bricks was done very well; old staining of brick did not clear with acid as well as sales person claimed it would. Soon thereafter, new gas insert was installed but facing needed enlargement to fill a gap. Completed 2/6/22 and required me calling about 10 times. However, I was able to enjoy the fireplace in the meantime and love it. Overall, very professional service and competence, but customer must be willing to wait. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.
Jamie Hanzlian rated it 1/5: We had a very unfortunate event with this company. I had mentioned to them my father had passed away in Dec 21 and the chimney has not been used or clean in 9-10 years. The. Gentleman did not tarp off the fire place and the fire place soot came out of the fire place covering our house with 1-2in thick soot. He began to clean it up with out notifying anyone because we were sitting outside. The soot was all over the house, floors walls carpet. It was awful. After speaking with Wendy they agreed to do whatever they could to make this right. We have two little kids in the home. Stanley steamer came out three days later! They cleaned the carpets but the stains were to deep to get cleaned. They said they would replace the carpets well inflation happens and we had a quote for 4k. Again we did t ask for this. The company had another quote about the same. Then back tracked what they said and o my have us what the insurance company would Give them 1700$ not even close to replace carpet along with us having to clean the entire home that we are still finding soot and having to paint the sealing because the soot was all over. Then the finally sent my mother a check made out to my Deceased father. Are you kidding me. Talk about a slap in the face. They never once dealt with anyone under his name. Just my mother and I and they have the audacity to do this. I have never been more disgusted with costumer service in my life and we own our own company! I would never recommend this company to anyone. They should be ashamed of themselves.

He looked at the fireplace and made the recommendation for repair with some estimated pricing. So right there on the spot he helped me walked through the decision process on what would fix the issue.
