He exudes passion about what he does – it is not just a job to him. I was very impressed with his depth of knowledge and that he took the time to ensure I thoroughly understood my current setup and what would need to be done to ensure safety and longevity. He did not pressure me into any services and even explained how I could do things myself to save money. His pricing is fair and transparent. It seems so rare nowadays to find a company that is such a joy to work with. Curry has definitely earned a customer for life.
UPDATE: I had Curry return and replace a fireplace insert. When removing the old one he found numerous safety issues with the way it was installed. Sometimes you have no idea what someone else installed in your home before you. We have lived here for 6 months and I am so glad, for the sake of my family, that I did not use the previous insert before discovering this. I cannot recommend Curry enough – he is highly knowledgeable, professional, and an absolute pleasure to interact with.

The first time I needed to have a free standing wood stove from Germany installed which had the handicap that the first chimney company put the chimney flu connection too close to the wall and even though Michael and his coworker spent the whole day making it fit they stuck to their original price. They are so reliable, on time with extremely fast responding time in emergencies. I would recommend them to everybody

Steve Walis rated it 5/5: We had a problem getting the Gas Fireplace to light to a newly purchased home and reached out to the Fireplace Doctor. The diagnosis was a a bad valve that needed to be replaced. While it took quite a while for the replacement valve to arrive from the manufacturer, we do not fault Fireplace Doctor for that and the fact that this was over the summer, it was not an inconvenience to us. Once they had confirmation that the part had been shipped, they quickly reserved a date/time for the installation on their schedule and contacted us to confirm that the date/time worked for us. All-In-All, this was a pleasant experience: the technician arrived early on both occasions and within the expected arrival window. He was thorough and explained to us what was needed to be done. Price estimates were provided, so there was no "sticker shock". He was very good at cleaning up after each visit and lastly, he took the time to explain to us how to properly operate the fireplace (since honestly, we had no idea how it worked). Now, we look forward to having a working fireplace this upcoming fall/winter/spring!

He called me later that day and told me we needed a new fireplace that would cost $7,000 to $12,000. My realtor sent several emails asking for a report. No report was ever sent. One day before the sale, my realtor found an honest fireplace company who inspected it, cleaned it, and sent us a report within a few hours. Fireplace Doctor never touched it because the only problem the fireplace had were leaves and a bird nest in the vent/flu. Buyer Beware! The sale of the house happened, thank goodness, only because of the honest people at the other company! I would love to recommend this other company on here, but I shouldn't do so now.

To the day of the visit, and being shown everything and explaining the steps along the way. The rep saved me some money be teaching me how to have a healthy flame and packing the new sand when it arrives.

I would expect more detailed info or any level of effort. To save any readers the $125- they don’t do a scope or look at anything you could not easily see yourself. He said it’s starting $6k to put in a wood stove insert and $12k to replace my 2 flues with one large one. He said that fireplaces cannot have multiple flues per NFPA 2.11 The guy that came out had poor people skills and was very odd so I don’t know if I believe it. Looking online it looks like safe common practice.

He is meticulous about keeping the area clean using a high-power vacuum and drop cloths. He swept the chimney, did a camera inspection (included in the service I purchased), and then ran a different brush to clean out some stubborn spots. He finished by going up on the roof to check the guy wires and exterior parts of the chimney (we have a pipe chimney attached to a wood-burning stove).
I absolutely think that I received great value for the money I spent! Robert gave me good advice about how to prevent smoke back drafts when I build fires on very cold evenings, and he gave me some tips to help prevent further creosote buildup. Plus, I could schedule online, which made taking care of that chore very simple. I'll be hiring Robert with Wise Hook the next time my chimney needs to be swept!

Her technician was booked solid, but she was able to contact one of the appointments, to reschedule, allowing Dave (tech) to come to our aid that day.
