I scheduled an appt w with Green Air Care LLC. They find a window time frame at the convenient time for me. The service technicians were great. They called an hour before to let me know when they would arrive & upon arrival were so friendly professional & clean. They helped fix a latch & reframe on the vent cover that has been broken for years. I was so impressed & absolutely recommending them to my friends and family for regular maintenance. I made inquiries for estimates on Yelp and got the hard sell from Green Ductors, who told me that their special price was only good that day. It was indeed a good price, but I learned that you get what you pay for. First they canceled last minute b/c a worker had an injury. That's understandable, but then they came 7 hours before they said they were going to come (Sat. morning instead of Sat. afternoon), even though I had been told they would call when they were on their way. It nearly turned into a nightmare. The young man they sent insisted that I wouldn't be able to use my dryer again unless I let him cut a larger 1" hole in my ceiling. Luckily he backed off when confronted with my 6-foot husband. I ended up having to pay $75 extra above the quoted price for him to figure out how to reattach the vent, but at least I had a working dryer again. He left a bit of a mess behind.
The owner reached out with the inspection report a week after the visit, offering to give a discount on future repairs, which was a nice gesture. They were experiencing technical difficulties and seem to want to do better in the future in person-to-person communication.

These guys took what could have been a stressful and complicated job to open up my brownstone blocked chimney flute and ill-existing fireplace box and made it a positive, fun and communicative experience. The Chimney Professional staff are all very knowledgable, committed and honest.
Prior to hiring Chimney Professionals for my job, I had met with six other companies but did not feel confident in their abilities or the scope of work which they had quoted me as well as a fear of upselling. After speaking with and subsequently hiring Chimney Professionals to perform the initial inspection, they truly were able to diagnose the scope of work and provide an accurate assessment of the work to be done. Throughout the process, they were communicate, friendly, clean (despite this being a very messy job) and maintained good relations with everyone involved along the way. The final product is very well done, looks great and functions perfectly.

Got prompt response from Mike and he came the next day with his team to clear the birds nests for me. and he came a second time to install a bird guard at a height of third floor for me after I specified the requirements. Mike always let me know when he will arrive in advance which I appreciate. Now I can have a good sleep without the the bird scratching sound in the vent pipe. you can tell how much branches and leaves Mike cleaned from the vent pipe from the picture.

Amy S rated it 1/5: They could not provide a valid NYC Home Improvement Contractor License information. My husband asked them twice for a license, they refused to provide it. A very secretive business, they don't even use their names to replay to inquires. We tried to locate their license using the NYC license search and could not find their business. We decided to hire a licensed professional.

Back in February of 2020, I needed a chimney repair and found Combustible Care on Google. The reviews looked great so I called them to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Roxanne took all of my info and scheduled an appointment for 11 days in the future (for the record, I got a same day estimate from a highly rated competitor). As soon as the appointment scheduling was complete, she says "By the way, there's a $99 fee for the estimate".

Me: "Ummmm… why didn't you tell me that BEFORE you set up the appointment? That seems like a very shady thing to me".

Phone rep: "Let me speak to my manager and see what I can do"

Me: "No thank you, that's just shady and I'll take my business elsewhere". Then I hung up.

I then went to visit the website and on the main page it clearly stated:

"Choose Combustible Care Maintenance for all your chimney repair, roofing, maintenance, and masonry needs. Not only will you enjoy FREE estimates on all our work, we also guarantee to beat any licensed competitor’s written estimate by 10%!"

Why would you try to charge me $99 when your website clearly states free estimates?

I am a business owner in a service industry myself, and I go to great lengths to make sure that the information I deliver is consistent across all mediums. I take pride in being honest and up front with my customers… this was NOT honest or up front.

Peter Fong rated it 5/5: Bryan and his team did a stellar job rebuilding two of the fireplaces in our historic Brooklyn brownstone and a liner for our furnace. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Their work is of extremely high quality, literally rock solid, and at a fair price. Bryan sent us daily photo updates (we hadn’t moved in yet) of his progress, explaining the technical aspects of what he was doing, next steps and timing. When a difficult neighbor filed a complaint against us (not the team’s fault in any way) he assured me all the permits and needed insurance were in place, looked up the complaint with the city, prepared for the inspection and sure enough when the inspector came we passed with flying colors. It turns out our neighbor has a long history of filing 311 complaints all over the place 🙁 He was also meticulous with our floors and protecting everything in the house. Ritchie and Anthony were great too. They worked so well with our primary contractor he asked Bryan for his contact info so they could team up on other projects. If you need work done on your fireplace or chimney call All About Chimneys. You won’t regret it!

Ryan Buckley rated it 5/5: Very impressed by the courtesy and professionalism of these guys. Bryan took a look at our chimney, said it didn’t need to be cleaned, and gave me some tips on using it. I don’t know anything about chimneys so he could have easily gone ahead with the sweep and charged me $$$ for it. Very impressed by his honesty. In the future, when my chimney does need cleaning, these are the guys I will call.

My fireplace was just serviced by him, and it is clean and ready to use. Additionally, they are quite clean, laying drop cloths as soon as they arrive and wrapping them up as they leave to prevent dirt. I wouldn't consider working with anybody else!

They suggested hiring a chimney sweep service. We were delighted with the outcome of the wood insert. However, the fireplace in our home's original core, which was completed in 1995, was one of our favourites. About ten years prior, we were informed that using it was dangerous. The fireplace's exterior design was important to us, but we also wanted to make it functional again. The fireplace still has its original charm and appearance, but now that all of the internal components have been updated, we can use it with peace of mind. I adore this chimney sweep company.

The man who examined both of our fireplaces in great detail, and it was clear that the team that completed the repairs cared about our satisfaction. They installed chimney caps for us, repaired the firebox, and replaced the flue in our main floor fireplace with a stainless steel liner. Additionally, the fact that they were willing to accommodate our scheduling requirements was incredibly beneficial to us. Knowing that our fireplace is safe to use once more gives me a nice feeling.
