A few weeks later we had an issue with the flu and when I call their office they had a person at our home within 20 minutes. He assessed the chimney and explained what he thought had happened. No intervention was required and we have instructed the working of the flu and how to manage it.
We were not charged for this second visit and were given very helpful information.

The only small thing that everyone seeking cleaning services should keep in mind is to turn on your heater or air conditioner to guarantee that the chimney was clean. As a result of renovations, there was some debris inside my chimney and when I switched on the heater after Bay Services cleaned it, there was even more debris. Crew was kind enough to stay and clean until all of the garbage had been removed. good job.

I emailed them and they were very quick to respond, courteous and helpful. It turned out some parts had given out and needed replacing. They only charged us for parts and not the repeat service, when they came to fix it the final time. José was the technician that came out the last time and did an excellent job. Everything is working great again and our fireplace insert works like new.
They do a great job respecting the house and cleaning up, as well as friendly service.

We dropped by, scheduled a time and when the service person came out, he found that the original vents had shifted and were no longer venting properly. They had to reschedule for a later day because two people were needed to replace the vent. They came, fixed it, thoroughly cleaned and tested the unit (about ten years old) and it works fine. The gentlemen were friendly, clean and did a great job. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them.

He was familiar with our chimney and was able to do everything related to the chimney sweep in 30 minutes. Martin was super efficient and very clean. In addition, he was super personal and was able to answer every question. Fatima and Evy in the office are also wonderful to deal with when scheduling and confirming an appointment. Overall, highly pleased with the service and relieved to have a clean chimney.

He came to do and inspection and cleaning and found we had some serious issues and was able to quickly quote the repairs and after approval get us on back on the schedule for install. He was able to grind out the mortar and replace it with high quality Heat resistant mortar and install a custom steel plate to protect the old brick back wall of the fireplace to prevent further cracking. He is extremely professorial and very clean. He was able to get the custom made steel back plate made in a week. I can't say enough good things about Peninsula Chimney and I will be calling them next year for the annual wood stove cleaning.

In addition to helping us with the gas log, they took care of the new mantel and wood surround. Kevin came to our home and immediately knew what style and size of surround and mantel to recommend. Robert built the wood surround and mantel and installed it. He is a true craftsman. Gabriel removed some of the old brick, cleaned the chimney and made needed repairs, and finally installed the gas log. Every step was handled professionally, from the sales people (Chris and Trevor) to the scheduler, and of course, all of the installers. We couldn't be happier.

They do not reply to emails in a timely manner and do not regularly answer the phone- which makes the overall experience pretty difficult. Her crew worked quickly, quietly and cleanly. We are very happy with this work and would recommend The Irish Sweep.

She and her team cleaned and conducted a video inspection of one of our fireplace chimneys (they had done the same on our second fireplace for a prior owner, so immediately recognized there was no need to reinspect just yet – saved us that cost).

The video inspection identified areas of missing mortar in the joints between flue tiles, rendering the fireplace unsafe to use. Thus, Sally and her team returned to perform a relining of both flues with HeatShield (Irish Sweep is one of the only companies in the Bay Area with certification from the HeatShield manufacturer to do this work).

They also installed a top mount damper on a flue where the original interior damper had rusted out. Works like a charm and seals completely.

The complex work went smoothly and on schedule. When less material was needed than first estimated, Sally adjusted her fee downward accordingly.

We'll happily stick with Irish Sweep for all our future chimney needs!

Yoni Mayeri rated it 1/5: Contracted with this company to clean out my chimneys. Two men arrived to do the job and suggested I add on cleaning my dryer vent for an extra fee. As I had not done that in a long time, it seemed like a good idea so I agreed. I knew something was up when I heard them arguing. They managed to disconnect my dryer vent from where it connects under the house to the vent pipe that runs to the outside. They said they were unable to reconnect it as it was in a very small space. The young man was too large to fit in the space, and the old guy was too old to crawl into the area to reconnect it. Then they tried to tell me that it had been that way all along! I knew it hadn't as I regularly saw steam venting from the pipe outside the house before their visit, but no steam venting since.
I complained that they had caused a hazard, and needed to fix it, but did not receive any service. They left it that way….AND HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE ME FOR THE SWEEP AND THE DRYER VENT CLEANING!
Stay far away from these dishonest people!

Justine Frischmann rated it 1/5: Horrible customer service!! I made an appointment to have my gas stove serviced in October, it still isn't working and we're now in January. On the first appointment, the service technician called and cancelled after I had waited in for him all day. The next time he cancelled the morning of the appointment and the third time, he didn't show up at all. I tried to contact the manager Nick, I emailed and called him every day for a week but he never emailed or called me back. These guys are awful, it's amazing they're still in business. In future I will use Hearth and Home of Marin or Blaze in San Rafael.

Neal Gordon rated it 1/5: The worst people I have ever worked with. Took our money and missed appointment after appointment. Did half the job and in the end it all had to be ripped out and replaced to start a néw. Stay away!!!! Truly the worst ever!!!!
