Alisha Young rated it 5/5: Initially I called Abacus for a couple loose/flickering light switches in the house – I used the on-line appointment scheduler and got a text with a photo of the technician scheduled to come to the house for next day without any issue.
It turned out the electrical breaker panel was outdated, not up to code and not grounded properly. Journeyman Electrician Michael was able to identify additional problematic light panels/electrical outlets during his check and come up with an estimate (with a few coupons) for a much bigger job (upgrading the electrical panel and adding an outdoor fireman's breaker) with photos documenting these problem areas.

We were able to schedule for the electrical panel upgrade, with a lifetime warranty, for next day with Anthony. The upgrade with a fireman's breaker on the outside was done with great care and attentions to details —
unlike the previous breakers, the new outdoor portion of the electrical panel box was secured to the studs/sealed/secured. Anthony was very professional, friendly, and showed us the key upgrades as he worked in the garage and backyard. And he did replace all loose light switches and faulty outlets, for which I called scheduled Abacus in the first place. The visit ended with Anthony sending me photos of the repair/upgrade, some of which I attached to this review.

I did have a little difficulty with their scheduling system. Schedulers and dispatch were professional and courteous but didn’t seem to record my requested appointment window correctly. I had to rearrange my plans to meet Julio. I still give five stars for Julio’s exceptional service.

Everything sounded so good, price and process, we had Jose do the work right on the spot instead of waiting. As you can see by the photos, he did fast and great work and we are very pleased with it all. We will have Abacus/Jose come do all our future electrical needs!!

Sammy took the time to answer my additional questions regarding my home builder grade system. Unfortunately he confirmed my suspicions about my system. It was a bad selection by home builder and bad layout. Not much can be done to improve with our causing significant expense on my end but it’s definitely something I’ll look at more closely when I buy my next home. Great service all the way around from Abacus would recommend 5/5 stars for repairs. They will be my first call going forward. Their responsiveness is good and pricing is competitive. You’re paying a flat fee for the techs time, their customer service, the technology (online scheduling, texting, tech location notification, etc.), the expertise and brand knowledge, etc. You pay for what you get, getting it right the first time and treated right is worth the money.

He explained everything to me in detail and it made sense. I had an Electrician the day prior – middle age who I didn't trust what he was saying. Jose took care of my electrical issue. Because he was so professional and knowledgeable I bought an electrical panel surge protector which cost much more than the job I called him for. My brother recommended this company because he uses them exclusively. I also highly recommend them and will use them for our electrical needs. Let me say I have used another company in the past and it was not good. I had to chase them to come back, they hardly returned calls or emails and I won't use them again. Thank you A1.

John Smith rated it 1/5: Had APlus reinstall main underground wiring, While they dug the trinch they hit other wires that went to my pound pump.( see photos). Ok. so they thought it was a root when digging, no biggie, but their worker never told the supervisor Mathew. I saw it when I inpected it before they covered it up. I showed it to one of the workers they said they would wrap tape around it. NO that is not how you fix it. I text Mathew and sent him picture he said he was busy and would call me. He Didn't.
The next day when I came home they already filled it up. I asked the worker but he did not speak english, He called a supervisor and I talked to him. He said he was working with Mathew and was aware of it and said he had an electrican go out and fixed it before they filled it back up. He gave me the name of the electrican and told me how they fixed it.
Two weeks later I bought a new shovel ( workers stole mine ) and dug it up. they did not do a thing to it !.
I called A1 plus and told them what happened and I wanted to know why this supervisor LIED ! She said she would find out and call me back, she didn't and she sent another electrican out the next day and he fixed it. I told him the story and he said the company would call me. Nobody ever called me. No apology.
The worker should have immediately notifed Mathew.
Mathew then should have immediatly called me.
Mathew should have made sure it was fixed and inspected it.
A1 Plus should have found out why the supervisor lied to me in detail. But they simply do not care.
It would take a few years before the wires would corrode and I had problems which would cost a fortune and I would have never had known what A1 Plus did. Makes you wonder about their good reviews what will be happening to there jobs in a few years.
They also have not sent me a receipt that I have repeatly asked for.

But I will not be using Mr. Sparky again, because their cost structure is crazy. They don't charge by the hour, but a flat fee for the job – so if I had done all the work I called them out for, my cost would have been over $300 an hour.

Our electrical panel was nearly on fire and it needed to be replaced immediately. They arrived as scheduled and James, the technician, was patient in explaining the options and costs. His patience and knowledge actually made us decide to work with the company. No frills, no hard sell, just facts. Generous financing options helped a lot as well. Lynn Munoz rated it 5/5: Can't really express how wonderful these guys are….but I'll try. First visit was on a Saturday morning (8am on the spot). We had them come out for a partial power outage. Turned out to be a CenterPoint issue. Second visit we had them install a surge protector on our panel (newer homes typically have them already installed). At which time I was advised my panel was the cheapest on the market and we should consider an upgrade. No pressure from Levi just being a great electrician. Third visit was again partial power outrage and again it was a CenterPoint issue. Kendrick advised us to consider upgrading the panel. This is when I became extremely grateful. Kendrick let us know our panel (being the cheapest on the market) used aluminum as the main connection!! As a layman I know that aluminum is a huge no no. All I could think was fire in the future. Electrical issues in the future. So we agreed. Fourth visit was the smooth installation of our new electrical panel. Auggie and Jeremy are the perfect example of professionals. Auggie showed me his work. Perfect alignment of the wiring to each breaker before closing everything up and left with no trace of them having been there. These guys have given me arrival time frames of 8am – 10am each time I call but are typically there at 8am. Makes me feel like the top priority. From the get go top priority. I have used four different electrical companies in the past. Right Touch Electrical is now the company I will be calling. I won't see them for a really really really really long time but when I do; I know I'm in good hands.

Nezir A. (the electrician who performed the work) was incredibly respectful of my home and did a fantastic job with the installation and other services. I have only reviewed 2 other professionals/companies ever on Google and he's absolutely top notch and recommended without reservation.

I initially called another company. That company came out and just told me it'd be $300 to diagnose and maybe or maybe not fix the problem. They didn't know what the issue was and didn't care to check. They spent one hour trying to upsell me other products for $1000+. I declined their offer and searched for another company.

I called Mr. Electric and they came out the next day. Fernando with Mr. Electric immediately started diagnosing the issue, identified it instantly, and then presented a quote cheaper than the first company I called. Not to mention, the service was quick. If I need an electrician in the future, I'll only be calling Mr. Electric of Katy.

The company was quick to locate and dispatch an electrician who was able to source a temporary replacement that evening and schedule a follow up to install the new replacement breaker the following morning. Power was restored to my home that evening in about an hour. I can not recommend this company more, excellent service, especially being an after hours service call.

It is a more complex system that I've used in the past and when I moved in I didn't understand how a few things worked. Tristan came out and walked through the entire system with me. We were told what to do in mean time until the technician could come out. The technician was very knowledgeable and patiently explained the problem and possible solutions every step of the way.

Once we weighed the options, and reviewing the findings we came to conclusion of getting a new ac unit after 14 years.

They were able to install the new unit within 5 hours the very same day. They worked quickly and efficiently.

Once the job was complete, we had cool air once again. They even reached out to us the next morning to see how everything was!

I will most definitely be reaching out to them to do an annual tune up!

Steven Ward rated it 1/5: Morgan Pro’s incompetence cost us $23K+ for a system we had to rip out 18 months later (PHOTOS below). Anyone interested high-efficiency HVAC technology should read our story before choosing to work with them.
We trusted Morgan Pro to 1) assess our 1500 sqft home for the most energy-efficient HVAC system it could accommodate and 2) install it correctly. They failed to do either. Their $3K Manual J assessment said we needed a 5-ton HVAC system. It took Morgan Pro 9 months and over 30 visits to install a high-efficiency system and to get it functional—two inverters outside (they accidentally blew up the first one), and 6 mini splits through our home in all the ceilings. During that time, they caused unnecessary damage: cutting extra joists, drawing on antique trim, and they compensated us for that. Their HVAC system initially passed city inspection, but it never worked 100%. As Morgan Pro kept trying to fix it, we had to agree to things they had promised to avoid—wall thermostats everywhere, humidity and noise levels that were too high, and on and on. When water started pouring from our new ceilings in the middle of summer in Houston, it was clear to everyone that the system was simply wrong for our house. But instead of taking responsibility for their failure, Morgan Pro blamed the two things we had hired them to get right: our house, and the system.

Their next move was to conduct a test on our home, claiming it now needed 8 tons of HVAC (!), not 5, and that we pay a further $14K to get it up to 8 tons. Knowing it was just laughable that our 1500 sqft house was an 8-ton home, our next step would be a legal dispute to make them give us a correctly sized and functional system for the money they had already taken from us, with consequent delays to a remedy. Shocked and exhausted, we decided that delay was worse than severing ties with a business we could never trust again anyway. Morgan Pro ended up waiving money we still owed them so they could crawl away from their own install guarantee, and we were relieved to see them go. We then removed the entire system and installed a conventional one—4 tons, HALF what Morgan Pro reckoned. This system has worked perfectly from the start, costs much less to run, is much quieter, and is a great fit for the structure of our renovated historical home.

Our new HVAC technician extracted the system, and he has installed the same units many times before. He pointed out all the mistakes he saw in Morgan Pro's installation, and said the technology was also just not suited to our house. Morgan Pro’s supplier and factory rep (who they depended on almost exclusively) were also at fault and we are making formal reports to their respective professional boards and the manufacturer as well. All of them failed us abysmally, but none more than Morgan Pro: they failed to do right by our home and us, when that was their *only* job for which we paid many thousands in good faith while we supported their efforts in our home for months with remarkable patience and kindness: everlasting shame on them.

We have written this review so that other Houston customers can be well informed. We would hate for the same experience to happen to anyone else because we had remained silent about their appalling record with us.

One star is for their fantastic office staff and their young tech Ricky, who always worked as hard as he could to do his best, though he was way out of his depth on these units.
