Travis C rated it 5/5: I hired Standard Heating and AC to replace my furnace and AC in 2020. I liked the professional and kind service at the time of sale and installation, 11 year warranty, was pleased with the installation work, and even the service trip they performed three years after install (after the furnace tripped an over-heat code). The overall cost was a little more than other companies I checked into, but the service and warranty resulted in peace of mind and working equipment which I believe makes up for it by far. There was no cost for the service appointment. Happy customer.

  • Rick rated it 5/5: Standard Heating is a great company! I had my furnace and A/C unit replaced back in September 2020. Everyone throughout the process was very knowledgeable and professional and did great work. Their furnace and A/C tune ups are reasonably priced and they do a thorough job to make sure your machines are working properly. They're kind of a throwback to the old days when companies actually cared about doing quality work and satisfying their customers. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I highly recommend them!
  • Rebecca Wilson rated it 5/5: I have been a member of smart club for about a year now and couldn’t be happier. When scheduling service the people I speak to are always polite and great to work with. The technicians are fabulous-on time and professional. More importantly, they know their stuff and they explain it in a thorough and easy to understand manner. Alex was out today for routine maintenance and he did a great job explaining the workings of my furnace. I highly recommend Standard Heating and Air!
  • Laura Van Dyke rated it 5/5: Standard Heating & AC recently came out to give our furnace a tune-up for the winter and install a new Nest smart thermostat. Scheduling both appointments was a breeze, and we were super impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of both technicians (Lionel and Seth). They were friendly, on-time and did a great job. Thank you from your newest loyal customers!

  • Vyto Lazauskas rated it 5/5: Standard Heating and Air Conditioning did a full system replacement in our home: furnace, A/C, Humidifier and hot water tank. The level of service and support from various trade people was pretty amazing. The primary installer was on site all day from 7:20am until 4:30pm. He made sure that all components were correctly and neatly installed. He seemed genuinely concerned that the job was correctly done. I will definitely be recommending Standard Heating and Air Conditioning. Thanks for a great install.

Jacob Lindberg rated it 1/5: Our furnace broke down during the holidays, and I expected to be upcharged for the holiday, but what I didn't expect was the technician to misdiagnose the issue with the furnace, order an unnecessary part, and lie to us that the part would arrive on the holiday itself. But it didn't stop there–when we called CenterPoint the next day asking where the part for the furnace was, they were extremely unhelpful. The customer service representative laughed and told us the parts store was closed and that we should call back tomorrow. Which we did, but the next day we were given the same answer and when I requested to speak to billing to not be charged for the expedited delivery for the part, they laughed and transferred us to billing two separate times, knowing that they were closed and we would be disconnected (it wasn't until our third call that a customer service representative told us they were closed). Long story short, we ended up having to call a local technician and cancelled the HSH we had signed up for when our furnace stopped working. The local technician let us know that they had misdiagnosed the problem, probably in order to upcharge us for the part. We were charged less to fix the furnace than we were charged for the misdiagnosed visit. On top of this, it was during the coldest streak of winter so we ran the house on space heaters for three days, which I'm sure CenterPoint loved. Have very little hope that a company this dishonest makes this right. Have already had customer service supervisors lie about leaving voicemails for follow up. Beware of this company, go local, and it'll save you time and money in the long run.

  • Justin Jackson rated it 5/5: What can I say, 30 year's as a customer and have had only one complaint in that time frame. As a homeowner, this is peace of mind you cannot live without. The preventive maintenance calls have extended the life of my HVAC/water systems. Keeping my family free to worry about other life events and security to know we are covered with all our home appliances. Thank you for year's of great service
  • Braden Carpenter rated it 2/5: While it is convenient to pay a monthly fee to be able to have a technician come out and service my appliances whenever they stop working, it is EXTREMELY disappointing that EVERY time I call to request a service, I must wait 3-4 days, OR LONGER, for a technician to come. Most recently, my home’s HVAC system is not putting out heat and I have to wait over a WEEK to have someone come out due to “high service volumes, lower priority, and the Thanksgiving holiday week”. This is entirely unacceptable especially with two little children in the house. If the technicians weren’t so efficient, I would cancel the service and save over $900.00/year.
  • Dana M. Poster rated it 2/5: It is incredibly convenient and liberating to feel like I can have a technician come out for "free." Also, generally the technicians do good work and are knowledgeable. That's why there are two stars.
The other three stars are not selected because it's only marginally worth it. I've been paying for the repair plan service for many, many years but have only used it a handful of times. After my recent experience, I'm considering dropping HSP. I will certainly drop it once I replace all of my covered appliances.

Recently, I called for furnace service. The technician indicated that my furnace is old I should consider signing up for the Replacement Plan. But he also told me my furnace could last through the winter or five more years. Because of other life events, I didn't have the chance to research and sign up for the replacement plan for a few weeks. A few days after signing up, I called for furnace service again but this time the technician tagged my furnace and said I could no longer use it. Because the first technician wasn't as diligent as he could be, I didn't know my furnace was so close to death. I could have replaced it during a warm month but instead, it died when the weather dropped to single digits and there was a Thanksgiving holiday to schedule around.
Additionally, if the first technician had indicated that my furnace needs were dire and I should sign up for the Replacement Plan right away, at least I would have been able to use it. However, because he led me to believe I had time, I waited until after my wedding to do the research. Had he told me to sign up asap, I would have made past the 30 day waiting period and been able to use the service.

  • Michael Walters rated it 1/5: The Home Service Plan and technicians are excellent. Top notch. However, you should not use Home Service Plus to purchase and install an appliance. They contract that out. And they don't properly vet the people they use. And when something goes wrong, you're screwed. They used River City Plumbing and they botched the job and refused to communicate with us. Ghosted. I had to pay a actual plumber to fix the problem for $600. He said it was the worst installation he'd seen and would be embarrassed if that was his work. Two parties makes for deniability when something goes wrong. Go to a reputable company and deal directly.

Emily Richmond rated it 5/5: Chris was great! He was able to come next day and replace our garbage disposal that had broken the night prior while we were doing dishes. He was timely, and left not only a functioning garbage disposal but a clean space as well! We will definitely use again in the future!

Most relevant reviews:

  • Mad Wegmiller rated it 5/5: I had a loose kitchen faucet and a shower with extremely low water pressure (among other issues). Chris worked quickly and was very communicative, walking me through exactly which parts I needed to buy and working quickly and around my schedule. He also was thorough in making sure he did things the right way, up to code. I’m so thankful to have a working bath and shower again!

  • Joel Vlaminck rated it 5/5: This team is great to work with. They responded quickly to our family's need, were professional, gave us a fair quote and got the job done sooner than I could have expected. The people at Blue Yeti truly made my dilemma (AC failure) their priority. Much appreciated and highly recommended!
  • Marquita Cook rated it 5/5: Highly recommend! I called at 8am and Mark was able to come out to address the problem at 11am the same day. Mark was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to fix the issue with water leaking from the ac due to a clogged trap drain very quickly and showed me how I could clean it out for future. He offered some additional maintenance items to help keep the life of our unit running as long as possible but did not pressure me into addressing them now. I thought the overall price was reasonable for the work that was completed. Overall, very satisfied and will use Blue Yeti services again for future HVAC or plumbing needs. Thank you!
  • Eb Ele Bee rated it 5/5: We have had Blue Yeti out to replace an A/C and furnace as well as minor plumbing issues. They have been extremely responsive and prompt. They were the only ones able to get an A/C unit within the week when other companies were quoting 2+weeks. I recommend them to everyone I know.

Customers have consistently praised the company for its professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Clare O'Neill rated it 1/5: We hired Soderlin Plumbing for our upstairs bathroom leak and repair. Our experience consisted of incompetent work, leaks, and attempting to bill us (twice) for work that was part of the original contract

• Our new tub wasn’t properly vented upon installation.

• Upon removal of the old vanity the sink drain needed to be relocated. We had plumber Ken return to do. We created an access through the main floor living room ceiling to re-route the drain and join it up with another upstairs bathroom drainpipe. (Since this wasn’t included in the original bid, we paid extra for this work.)

• When scheduling the inspector, Ken told us to not let the inspector look at the tub drain (since it was a replacement there was no inspection needed on this work). He said it was done ‘correctly’ but keep the inspector looking at the sink drain and not the tub.

• The inspector flagged the tub drain.

• Ken returned to fix the issue and presented us with a $1,200 bill to fix what he didn’t do right.

• My husband and I patched our living room ceiling and applied a labor-intensive Italian Carerra finish.

• Soon afterward the living room ceiling began leaking at the joint where the 2 drains came together.

• We fired Ken and had another plumber from Soderlin come out. Three holes were opened in the newly finished ceiling and was determined the ring around the joint wasn’t tight enough.

• Immediately the blame game started saying it was the contractor (who did the ceiling) that caused the joint to leak.

• My husband and I did the work and didn’t shove a 2×4 (that ran the length of the ceiling) under the pipe. The 2×4 in question had been there for years.

• Jason in management insisted someone else caused the issue and refused to come and look at the 2×4 that was removed. He stood by his plumber Ken (who was the one who did a shoddy job on the tub ventilation and told us to not let an inspector look in that direction.)

• We put this debate on the back burner and asked Jeff to come and finish our bathroom. The toilet, sink, and fixtures needed to be installed (the price of the toilet and installing the sink and fixtures was all included in the original bid.)

• When Jeff put the fixtures on the tub and tested it, there was water on our living room floor. He had put an O-ring on incorrectly.

• Jeff insisted we needed to pay $1139 for a new toilet and installation. He refused to look at the original paperwork showing the toilet and installation of sink and fixtures was included.

• Jeff wouldn’t leave our property without a credit card number to pay a bill we didn’t owe.

Most relevant reviews:

  • Anna Scheid rated it 5/5: The folks are Soderlin are amazing. Joel came out to check out a leak and some water pressure issues that we were having. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, laid out several options for fixes (long term vs. short term, variety of price ranges). We chose our fix and got on the schedule quickly. Joel came back and got the job done quickly and neatly. He walked us through all of the fixes and made sure everything was functioning before he left. Highly recommend this company and will be using again!
  • Joe Roueche Jr rated it 5/5: If you are looking for ANY kind of plumbing work – save yourself a TON of grief, eliminate any guesswork and JUST CALL SODERLIN PLUMBING!

Soderlin is the ONLY company I ever use and that's over 15 years total.

JEFF JOHNSON from Soderlin came out and installed an additional exterior water faucet to my home AND ran a new gas line for my outdoor gas grill. "Ian" – an apprentice – did a masterful job assisting Jeff.

Absolutely ( and no surprise to me) was an excellent, professional job on both projects and the finished work (outdoor appearance of the house) looks fantastic too.

GUARANTEE: You call Soderlin for any and all of the services they provide and YOU will be SO GLAD you did.

Save yourself time and grief…CALL SODERLIN!

  • Robert Schwartz rated it 5/5: Soderlin's Jeff Johnson and Ian were awesome installing our new boiler. Their new piping is a work of art! They came early and cleaned up after themselves. Very professional. On top of that, Soderlin had the most competitive bid. Highly recommended.
  • David Quinn rated it 5/5: Had a crack in our main drain pipe, and Soderlin was able to get there the fastest, and gave a helpful estimate with all the options for what could get fixed and replaced. They were on time to do the work and we're very easy to work with.

Suzanne S. rated it 5/5: Freedom was professional and helpful through the whole process of replacing both my furnace and AC. The estimator (who was a knowledgeable hvac tech, not a slippery salesman), the installers, and the office folks I spoke with on the phone were all pleasant and knew what they were talking about. Everything was clean when they left, and on top of it all their pricing was competitive and fair. Definitely recommend.

  • Perri Carlson rated it 5/5: Would very much recommend freedom. My new furnace was installed less than one week from my initial phone call. Everyone was very friendly and professional, and fantastic with all of my dogs! Their pricing is MUCH better than all the other estimates I got. The owner, David, is great! I will always use them for any needed services in the future.
  • Jolene Harrelson rated it 5/5: I recently had various work done at my rental property in St. Paul and want to give a shout out the great contractors I found and how easy they were to work with!

I was so pleased with the service I received from Freedom! Here's why I'd recommend them and how they're different from others: The City of St. Paul does annual safety inspections and said that my dryer vent was not up to the latest codes (that they had updated but not notified anyone of) and they claimed needed to be replaced. I tried to source this work from several companies but they weren't able to come out on my timeline or didn't have the specific licensed HVAC technician that they city required to do the work with a permit. In my calling around, I was able to get in touch with Freedom and spoke with Amy on the phone who was so friendly and easy to work with in getting everything I needed set up and closed out at the end of the job. I felt they were trustworthy and thorough and I would use them again and recommend them to others!

  • Cindy Rae Dainsberg rated it 5/5: Six years ago, after much research I bought a furnace and air conditioner through David at Freedom. His caring style and attention to detail was outdone by his integrity.

This week I returned to Freedom when a competitor said I had gas leaks, failing parts etc. during an annual furnace check. Not only did I NOT have gas leaks, Freedom (John and Ado) found and fixed a potential safety hazard created by a contractor. The competitor was trying a fear tactic, didn’t consider other key issues and never suggested that issue (if it existed) might be covered by warranty).

I have continually been impressed with the exceptional quality of caring, professional service from Freedom. THEY follow up on every service request and care deeply. It is a refreshing and essential difference from any other service providers I’ve seen in many years.

Freedom you make me believe in family run businesses. You have heart and talent. Thank you.

  • Jordan Millikan rated it 5/5: One of the best contractor experiences I've ever had.

I worked extensively with David and the Freedom crew in my aging Minneapolis home. It was a great experience and I will wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

David evaluated our home and our needs and actually concluded that we needed LESS than I asked for! He emphasized the need for whole-home comfort and not just slapping in a high-efficiency furnace and calling it done. He coordinated with my insulation company to tackle the whole project. He spent a ton of time on the phone with me – well beyond what could be reasonably expected. He and his crew were extremely courteous, timely, and CLEAN. David ensured that our home was just as nice when they left – a true feat that I have never experienced with any company before Freedom. I felt no qualms about David and his crew working in the home with my wife and child when I wasn't present – my wife had great respect for the crew and was extremely impressed with how diligently they took care of our home. David and his teams showed up when they said they would and completed the work on (or ahead of) schedule. The system is working flawlessly and keeps our home comfortable, even in the bitter cold.

I had 4 companies visit my home before choosing David and Freedom. Now I'll never have to go through that hassle again – I'll always pick Freedom. I recommend you do the same.

They are also a BBB-accredited business, and have an A+ rating. customers can expect quality workmanship and customer service when they choose Ray N. Welter Heating Company.

Jen Case Smith rated it 5/5: I went with Welter after getting a few bids on a new furnace. I'd just had a bad experience with a Carrier furnace recall and told the Welter rep that I wanted a furnace that had been out a while and was proven to be solid, so the Trane they suggested was in the process of being discontinued but they still had new ones in stock- they said they'd been installing this furnace for over 12 years with no issues or recalls- so I was all about it! I was not interested in any bells and whistles and they didn't try to upsell me, just gave me a really fair quote. The installer was on time and put in the furnace in less than 6 hours. After he left, I noticed that when my AC came on, the fan/blower was on *extremely high* and it was very loud through the vents, so I called the next morning and the guy on the phone knew exactly what was going on and they sent out the same installer to adjust it that afternoon- and it's great now, very quiet. Thanks Welter Heating!

  • M Freeman rated it 5/5: Ray N. Welter Heating is an excellent company to work with. When we had trouble with our furnace, we initially called another company to take a look at it. The guy they sent out took a pair of tin snips and cut the back off the furnace (without doing any preliminary diagnostics and without asking my permission). Then he told me we had a cracked heat exchanger (scam alert) and told me we could all die of carbon monoxide poisoning (mega-scam alert). He recommended we buy a new furnace, as the old one wasn't worth repairing. I told him we might decide to buy a new furnace, but it wouldn't be from his company. I know enough about physics to understand the "cracked heat exchanger" scare tactic. It's a very old scam. I patched up the back of the furnace with foil tape and went online to find a better company.

We called Welter based on good reviews (plus, my wife likes their television commercials). We talked with them about options and eventually decided it would be a good idea to replace our 30-year-old furnace with a new, high-efficiency model. They installed both our furnace and our central air conditioner. When we had trouble with the air conditioner they came out and repaired the problem under warranty so there was no cost to us. Ralph C. even took the time to thoroughly clean the outdoor unit.

It's nice to find a company that's knowledgable and honest. Highly recommended.

  • Melanie Upchurch rated it 5/5: They earned a lifetime client. This is a time when home repair and maintenance companies are taking advantage of people. Ray gave us a fair price with a quality AC unit. We got honest feedback and recommendations and couldn’t be more appreciative during these times. Scheduling, installation, financing and rebate was seamless. Highly recommend.
  • Justin Benolkin rated it 5/5: Ray N. Welter Heating Company installed a Mini-split in our detached garage. They were super timely, nice, prepared, and responsive to hiccups that got in the way. They worked around the issue of the electrical company not installing the electricity on time and were very flexible. Instillation took no time at all and they cleaned up after they were done. You could not tell even that work had been done. Would recommend to anyone!
  • Ryan Flynn rated it 5/5: We had some issues with our AC unit freezing due to air flow issues and a faulty valve. Everyone who we worked with was amazing. They explained what they were looking for and why. We had to call them back because some issues persisted and they came quickly and solved the problem. I was worried about finding an HVAC repair company because they can be difficult to work with, but finding Ray N. Welter has been great. I will definitely use them for my next project or repair.
  • Jen Case Smith rated it 5/5: I went with Welter after getting a few bids on a new furnace. Tara Johnson rated it 5/5: Midland Heating and Cooling has been fantastic to work with for our furnace that needed to be replaced this year and our A/C install 2 years ago. They took care of every aspect from scheduling the install, duct cleaning, keeping in touch with me as we had to work around renovation projects and change the date a few times, to the final walk through and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Midland.

  • Sarah Thomas rated it 5/5: We just purchased a home and when our mini split broke, we worked with 4 other companies that charged an arm and a leg to simply be told "Yes, your system is broken but we can't fix it"! We found Midland through the mini split manufacturer's site. From our first interaction onwards, they have been honest, clear and put our needs first. Not only did they find the issue, but they resolved it! All while working with our insurance company.
The team embodies professionalism, service and genuine care for their customers.
  • Packer Backer rated it 5/5: We had Midland install our humidifier when we moved in last February. For some reason, 10 months later water wasn't being pushed into the unit. Glad I called because a valve needed to be replaced and it still fell under the 1-year warranty.

The folks at Midland got someone to my place within an hour of my initial call to diagnose the problem and had everything repaired within a couple of hours. Quick, painless, and informative.

    Great customer service, highly recommend

  • Jennifer VH rated it 5/5: The team who removed and installed a new boiler were extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They worked extremely hard (the old boiler was incredibly heavy and difficult to remove from my old home’s basement) and they were very careful to not track dirt or make a mess. They were professional and I would highly recommend using this company. I have A/C work that needs to be done this spring and I will be calling Midland for that work, as well!

Made an appointment for that day with Gorgon's, I was assured a tech. would show up between 3-6. by 6 no-one had arrived, and no-one had called. I called them, they said, "now they were to busy to come and asked, would I like to reschedule for Friday? When I pointed out that was 3 days from now and by then all my water pipes would freeze. • Brandon Peterson rated it 5/5: I was in desperate need of a new hot water heater. Jayhawk came through in a pinch. They installed my new hot water heater and were true professionals. They also installed a humidifier for the property that keeps it comfortable and automatically adjusts based on the exterior temp so that the property doesn't have too much or too little humidity. They cleaned up the utility room when they were done and it looked nicer than when they arrived. Great job Jayhawk team!
  • Hello Partner rated it 5/5: I coordinate vendor services a lot with a lot of vendors I’d say Jayhawk is up there. I think Kyle is the MVP, always helpful and will walk you though diagnostics for small things and spare you a service charge. Often a tech can’t explain or understand things about the issue and it’s a big headache to get accurate service. Kyle always slows down and makes sure, helps with terminology, gets down to the bottom of what’s going on, and doesn’t just throw his hands in the air like it’s impossible to get device details. He is able to communicate about everting very well. Shout out to Kyle: I work with a lot of service providers and I don’t think any of them do as good of a job at understand they problem, the options for solutions, kicking around numbers and getting the job scheduled without rechanneling those details.

If every service provider was like Kyle I’d save tens of thousands of dollars each year from folks who will not listen to primary diagnostics, charging to fix what we already relayed was not the issue, and he won’t push back like you must be not know how to change an air filter.

    Thanks Kyle. You’re awesome.

  • Money Jones rated it 5/5: I work for a Real Estate Management company and we use Jayhawk more than we'd like to, due to age of some of the properties but rest assured Jayhawk has completed everything we've asked of them and they're on time professionals that prove their worth on every job! Haven't had not one bad experience yet with Jayhawk and I've used them for just about everything they service! Thanks Jayhawk for completing our jobs like it's your home, you're working on! J. Jones
