Georgina and Jean Kairouz rated it 5/5: Matt was terrific. Very personable and Sunset is fortunate to have him.

Even though it was a repair call, this 70+ year old furnace didn't really end up warranting the potential cost that may or may not have yielded results. Matt went over the options of a new furnace very thoroughly and got the installation crew out the same day.

So refreshing to know people like him are around and he seems to really enjoy what he does.

Definitely will hire Sunset for future needs!

  • Bev Cordova rated it 5/5: John Curran, from Sunset Heating & Cooling, spent 2+ days installing a new heating system and AC for us. During some serious hot weather. Talk about excellent customer service! He never complained but stayed focused on getting the AC up and running for us. John was very focused and dealt professionally with the challenges that came up while working. We felt confident in his skills, especially when he took time to answer our questions about the new systems. We like doing business with this company, always good teams and service. We highly recommend John Curran. He's a valuable asset to Sunset Heating & Cooling.
  • Alicia Hart rated it 5/5: Thank you sunset, for the terrific service. I called with a cold house and you were able to fit me in same day! My repair didn’t cost that much and my technician Sam was great so I decided to buy an amazing air cleaning product and he installed it same day! What a great service , it’s no wonder Sunset has been in business for 100 years!
  • Nicki Nelson rated it 5/5: I want to share my experience with sunset heating and cooling. I've used them for servicing my furnace for years always pleased with their honest evaluation and work ethics. My furnace reaching the age of 20 years was wore out!! Getting to the point I needed to replace it. The experience was rewarding. I was scheduled quite quickly, they sent me a technician John Curran. He was amazing very professional . The furnace is located in crawl space down a ladder in a very tight area, the opening 3'by3'. John went to work getting the old furnace out in pieces and cleaned as he went.I was very impressed. Then got new furnace ready for installation and began installing my new furnace!! He worked very hard all day and into early evening. I was pleased with his job performance. I would recommend John Curran to anyone who needed their furnace replaced. I love my new furnace. Thank you John and sunset heating and cooling. Nicki Nelson .
  • Becca Cundari rated it 5/5: First we received a text from Sunset with a description and photo of our tech Samuel. Then Samuel called and let us know his approximate time of arrival. When he arrived, he was so kind and courteous. He worked on our heater quickly and thoroughly. He fixed it and let us know why it had shut off and what we can do to prevent it happening again. The customer service from beginning to end was top notch and there were no crazy fees associated with our repair. I highly recommend Sunset Heating and cooling!

JUNE, one of the main dudes, is epic, super smart, kind, and communicative; he really went the extra mile. Spc heat and cooling has awesome employees who REALLY CARE!

  • Terry Kimzey rated it 5/5: The system that was in the house we bought was old and inefficient. Specialty H&C gave us a quote that was good, and we had the entire system changed over to a hybrid heat pump system with the newest type of controls and filtration available. So far it has been fantastic. So much different (and better) that the old "on and off" systems we were used to. Had one component fail right after install, and Specialty was very responsive and took care of the problem immediately. Very impressed and will use them again.
  • B Carr rated it 5/5: Specialty installed an HVAC system for my second floor last year and the experience was amazing which led me to contacting them last month to replace my main furnace. The process is smooth, they communicate clearly and the people who do the installations are amazing. They show up in time, are super efficient and leave the work spaces clean and clear. I will definitely use them again.

  • Thomas Wilde rated it 5/5: First came out for a low Freon level in one of the A/C systems, and after extensive testing, that lasted longer than what I was paying for, it was determined it likely was coolant theft rather than a leak of any sort. Refilled the system, after which it worked perfectly all summer.

Just got the fall furnace tune-up that is one of the two visits permitted under my maintenance agreement. Very professional. Very thorough. Excellent service, coming from someone who actually studied HVAC way back when.

  • NILESH BAHIR (NeiL) rated it 4/5: We had a great technician sent out to diagnose the issue why our AC wasn't working. He was extremely patient, understanding. Intelligent, reasonable, explained me the process and steps he was taking and why so while troubleshooting and diagnosis. The prices run on the higher spectrum. These guys were the original installers for the system 10 yrs ago. System lifespan is about 15 to 20 yrs for using AC for only a fraction of the year in Pacific North West region such as Portland / Hillsboro Oregon area. I'm looking forward to work with them if possible to get a new system since a major leak was suspected.
I'm sure you'll find this company reasonable to initiate a conversation to see it they are a good choice!

Kevin P. rated it 5/5: I've been a satisfied customer of AAA Heating & Cooling for several years. Today Stephanie and Sean performed the duct cleaning service that I had been putting off for too long. They were friendly, professional and efficient. I appreciate the good work they did today. AAA will always be my first choice for furnace & AC maintenance!

  • Michael M rated it 5/5: I had my 2nd duct cleaning from AAA and they called in advance of arrival and were on time, walked through to detail all the registers and dryer vent, and Sean and Stephanie explained everything, were helpful and efficient and identified future needs for cleaning such smoky fire seasons and pet shedding. Fortunately we had gotten a second dog since our last cleaning and unfortunately had a tough fire season a couple of years ago also. I’ve used AAA for maintenance of our system and they’ve been consistently friendly and reliable and they have kept my system efficient.
  • Paul Garcia rated it 5/5: Have used these guys at a past residence and glad I used them again on my new residence. I had one of their competitors out three different times to try to fix my system and they couldn’t get it to work. AAA came out and replaced a part that none of these other AC companies mentioned. They had me up and running again in no time. I also used them for duct cleaning and Sean & Stephenie did an amazing job! Stephenie treated my home like it was hers and this team was extremely thorough. I would highly recommend this team to clean your system as I have used other companies in the past and this was the most thorough cleaning I have ever had. Thank you for the clean interior air Sean and Stephanie!
  • kathleen conway rated it 5/5: Stephanie and Sean did an awesome job cleaning our ducts. When they arrived they took the time to introduce themselves and to pet our little dog. They were careful to keep our house clean while they worked and cleaned up after the job was done. They explained the process thoroughly. Stephanie gave recommendations as to which times during the year a person might want to have their vents cleaned like after smoke season, after allergy season, etc. Sean saw that I had a new little bonsai tree and gave me some great tips about growing these lovely little gems. Great service and terrific people like Stephanie and Sean are the reason my husband and I will be forever clients of AAA Heating and Cooling!

  • Kathi Lamm rated it 5/5: Debra did a great job of explaining how they do duct cleaning and scheduled a time that fit with my busy schedule. Stephanie and Sean arrived on time and did a fantastic job of cleaning all of my duct work. They were pleasant and professional to work with. They were very careful to keep everything clean and picked up all their equipment when finished. I am glad I had the cleaning done, I am not waking up at night with a stuffed up nose, there is less dust around and a musty smell in the lower level of the house is gone. I definitely recommend AAA for duct cleaning!

Dee Anderson rated it 5/5: Our AC went out on a Sunday.
Keith arrived quickly and had our unit back on line within 15 minutes! (He replaced the capacitor).

He took time to explain what he did and he answered all of my questions graciously!

Most relevant reviews:

  • Eli Reisman rated it 5/5: I recently had an A/C unit installed by Pyramid. We tried to book early (in March) to ensure the work was done prior to summer. The work, billing, and inspections were communicated clearly and scheduled promptly.

When the initial install had trouble, and a critical failed part was on order for an inordinate amount of time, leading up to the summer and recent heat waves, the folks at Pyramid went above and beyond to get the unit repaired ASAP, culminating in a full replacement which went off without a hitch.

The service and responsiveness of the folks at Pyramid was fantastic, exactly what I was looking for when I opted to work with a local business. My family and I couldn't be happier with the outcome – thanks again to everyone at Pyramid!

  • Marina Wolf rated it 5/5: Pyramid staff were very helpful in helping me pick the best AC system for my house. The installation was smooth and professional. I just had my one-year (free) checkup – once again, the service was friendly, on time, and very professional. I recommend highly.
  • Hung Nguyen rated it 5/5: Victor and Rodney arrived on time. They were very professional and respectful of our home. They cleaned up their work areas. Victor and Rodney explained to me their findings and potential issues with my HVAC systems. I would recommend Pyramid to my friends and family.
  • Tiffany Martin rated it 1/5: DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!! If I could give Pyramid Heating and Cooling zero stars I would. We had the worst experience with them. And as I write this review my family of 7 and I have been without AC for 5 days with temperatures in the high 80’s. With lots of body heat in our house. We had a complete new AC, furnace, and pump installed on Thursday 8/11 two installers came out, installed the unit. Said our AC unit wouldn’t be fully installed and operational until the following day Friday 8/12. Ethan one of the installers had to run to the store multiple times to go get parts for our unit. Because it wasn’t working. He finally got our AC up and running. He left that Friday around 3pm. And then the AC unit completely lost power and shut down an hour after he left. We contacted Pyramid main office and they dispatched a service guy Keith, he showed up to our house. Keith said there wasn’t much he could do. And we need to have an electrician come out because our brand new unit wasn’t getting enough electricity to operate. So, we finally called Dan on Friday in a last effort and plea to help us (He’s the one that gave us our bid). Dan said “I’m sorry about all that”. I sent an Email to their “third party” electrician company. To send an electrician to our house. Dan said someone would “probably” come out Saturday 8/13. And he would give us call. Well, we waited all weekend, and have heard nothing. Finally, my husband called Dan Sunday evening to see if he had heard anything. Dan says “I just got an email, and an electrician will be out to our house sometime in the AM Monday 8/15 but couldn’t give an exact time. So, now my husband has to take time off work (and lost wages) to be here with the HVAC and electrician. It’s been nothing but a hassle with no resolution in order. We are hoping to have our AC back up and running by Monday 8/15. But how this company operates and does business We’re not very hopeful.

Paige Sterrett rated it 1/5: Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Jacobs came highly recommended by friends and family so we chose them for an ac install for our home. We were originally told beginning of June for an install date; it’s now August and we still don’t know when they’ll come! Every time we’re given a day for an install they cancel, sometimes as late as after the time they said they would show up. I keep calling the office to reschedule and for whatever reason no one is available to talk to me, has left early, or won’t respond to my message. Feels like the just stole our 50% deposit

Most relevant reviews:

  • Nancy Anderson rated it 5/5: We had Jacobs do a HVAC installation. The installer (Moses) provided the highest quality service we have ever experienced. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. He made the entire experience a pleasure. He did the work of a team, on his own, and completed our project on time (within three days). Thank you, Moses, for the excellent job!
  • Ellyn Ford rated it 5/5: Installers Walter & Diego were fabulous. They arrived on time and got to work installing my new furnace & A/C. They provided photos of the installed furnace (it's in the attic) and answered my questions about the A/C. They were very attentive to details such as neatly running the water drain. They cleaned up each day and at the end of the install provided detailed instructions to register the products.
It's never fun when your furnace breaks down and you have to replace the system. These guys were pros who eased my anxiety over having to make an unplanned emergency replacement. Thanks!
  • Dondee Murray rated it 5/5: I have had the worst time this winter with my furnace going out when the weather really turns. It’s new and it had to get the kinks worked out. I’ve had several repair people here who have all been nice and helpful but none have been as amazing and dedicated as CONRAD!!! He has been so stellar and top notch professional – going above and beyond to make sure my furnace is working. He is kind, energetic, super friendly and takes his time to explain what’s going on. He is so respectful and truly cares. He put a lot of extra time in, not leaving until he was certain I would have consistent heat. He stayed in communication with me even after leaving, checking throughout the weekend to make sure it was still running. It was incredible to have this caring, hands-on service. Conrad is a true GEM!! Thank you so much to Jacobs Heating for sending him out!! My confidence in this big purchase went up leaps and bounds- all due to Conrad. I also want to shout out Storm- she was so professional and nice to organize and manage my service. She called me back when she said she would. And she was kind and understanding. I appreciate that so much! If you need help ask for Storm to get you started! And then, ask for Conrad! Yippee!!!

  • Eriko Ono rated it 1/5: We had a Carrier furnace installed when we bought this house in 2009. In Jan 2020, the motor broke. I had Jacobs and AAA come out to look at it. AAA gave me a quote to repair, but also noted that Carrier furnaces had a known issue with the heat exchange (there was a class action lawsuit) and recommended I consider replacing it. Because my furnace was not even 11 years old at that point, I rolled the dice and had Jacobs fix it rather than have AAA replace it. Well, it's Nov 2022 and the heat exchange broke. I paid $175 to have a tech come out and diagnose it in a couple minutes. He literally said he sees it all the time. I asked why it happened and he said "time". Nice guy, but I can tell he has some experience being the messenger of bad, costly news. He said he just does the diagnosis and that "they" would be letting me know the estimates. Over two weeks later and I've heard nothing. Keep in mind I have zero heat and a family.

I have already made up my mind to not spend another dime with Jacobs and their faulty furnaces. And will have AAA replace it with a brand that offers a 12 year warranty! And they can install next week and offered some space heaters. The real salt in my wound is that since Covid, the prices have skyrocketed so between spending the money to repair it and the increase in price on the new furnace, it's thousands more than if I had just replaced it in 2020. Live and learn. I hope this helps someone out there to avoid the mistakes I made. Please buy a furnace from someone who deals in more reliable products and doesn't just take your money so a technician can tell you what they already know… that their furnaces suck.

Erin Nelson rated it 1/5: Super shady. Wrongly red-tagged residential furnace due to technician error, created a hazardous condition, tried to hard-sell an unnecessary new furnace.

Had a Bryant gas furnace installed in 2012. That experience was great, no complaints at all. First ten+ years of maintenance also great.

Then came Nov 2022 when a technician came to perform routine annual maintenance. He said something was wrong with a part that couldn't be replaced, the furnace was emitting dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide, and had to be immediately shut off. On the first cold day of the season. Said my only option was to replace the entire system.

The technician mentioned a known problem with the secondary heat exchangers on this model of gas furnace failing, that as a result of a class action lawsuit Bryant did offer a significant rebate on a new gas furnace. He seemed genuinely apologetic for being "legally obligated" (his words) to turn off the furnace immediately. Charged my credit card for the "service call," and assured me that someone would email me details of what had failed, as well as an estimate and time frame for replacement.

Dear reader: it took multiple phone calls to get that email, and then it was only an invoice with no details. They were more than willing to schedule a consult for a new furnace, but unable to unwilling to explain what was wrong with my furnace beyond "it's dangerous and can't be used."

I did some research on the mentioned class action lawsuit related to the make and model of furnace in my home and learned that it was settled out of court in 2007 – long before Heat Relief installed the one in my home in 2012.

A sales consultant did eventually show up more than a week later while I was using space heaters to keep from freezing. Though it was below 66' in my home, he started visibly sweating when I pressed him to tell me exactly what was wrong with my furnace. After much hemming and hawing he said the secondary heat exchanger was cracked and corroded. He also said that a gas furnace should only be expected to last about 10 years. I guess I look like an easy mark who can't do research? I pointed out some round, obviously freshly drilled holes in the gas exhaust pipe and asked if maybe those should be covered over. He immediately bent over backwards to find some mastic tape and cover the holes that would have allowed exhaust from the furnace to flow freely into my home.

Weeks later (everyone was super busy due to the cold snap), I was able to get technicians from two less shady companies to come out and evaluate my furnace. Technicians from Bull Mountain Heating and Specialty Heating both ran full diagnostics including checking CO levels in every room and each told me that the Secondary Heat Exchanger on my furnace was NOT cracked, NOT corroded, and NOT dangerous. They were both appalled that Heat Relief had not offered me so much as a space heater after shutting off my heat, and just left me in the cold. Literally.

Neither technician from the two reputable companies were able to explain why the Heat Relief technician would have been "legally obligated" to shut off my furnace. Moreover, they couldn't replicate any CO levels outside of the unit.

So either the Heat Relief technician was incompetent and negligent, drilled holes in the exhaust pipe for some legit reason, then forgot to cover them before taking internal CO readings, or he deliberately created holes in the exhaust pipe to force a high pressure sale.

To sum up: a technician from Heat Relief created a CO leak by drilling holes in the exhaust pipe, misdiagnosed the problem as a faulty secondary heat exchanger, made the situation dangerous to everyone in my home by not sealing the holes after performing his work, turned off my furnace, deprived me of heat in my home, failed to provide me any alternative heating options (like a space heater), almost scared me into purchasing an expensive and unnecessary new furnace, and caused many a cold and sleepless night fretting about a problem that didn't actually exist.

  • Jay Pomeroy rated it 5/5: A professional group of people from the beginning to the install. On time with every appointment, clear and understandable information about what we were trying to achieve, no up selling just facts about the product. The installers were gentlemen, showed up on time and the install was beautifully done. No mess. Would recommend without any hesitation.
  • Jennifer Leigh rated it 5/5: I found myself without heat on a Sunday and was able to speak with Chris, the service technician, over the phone who patiently listened to the issue and guided me through a process to see if I was able to reset my system, which, thankfully I was! The service technicians came out the very next day, and made the required repairs to gas furnace and enrolled me in a service plan to help prevent no heat issues in the future! The cost was better than anticipated which is a plus- particularly during the holidays! Chris and his female coworker, (I forgot to get her name, but she was lovely,) were professional and friendly- even to my many animals- and didn’t make me feel like a dummy! Even the woman I spoke with, on the phone at the office was friendly and patient. I am happy I went with heat relief, and will continue to be a customer!
  • Leah Johnson rated it 5/5: Called Heat Relief after callon NW Natural for recommendations. They were over $1,000 under the quote from the Home Depot contractor for a new furnace and we're able to replace my water heater as well. The install team was thoughtful about my home, laying down drop cloths on my carpet and highly communicative about the work they were doing. While having to replace my heating system was an unexpected hit, Heat Relief helped make it less stressful. Thanks team!!
  • Erin Kane rated it 5/5: We were referred to Heat Relief by NW Natural. They were available to come out for a bid within 48 hours of our call. The technician was timely and professional. We plan to hire them for a gas line extension to accommodate our new fire table arriving this spring. If only the vendor of the out was as fast as Heat Relief!
  • Erin Nelson rated it 1/5: Super shady.

Kirk Gilbertson rated it 5/5: Start to finish what an amazing experience, Ray the sale person was really great to work with, gave me several options price wise and they were one of the most reasonably priced bids I received. For a new furnace and AC they were $11,000.00 cheaper than the most expensive bid for similarly equipped products(and that price isn't a type "o" along with other company only sold their own brand so couldn't even know what quality I would have gotten) that is how much more reasonable they were. The full cost was pushing my budget so we talked and he came down to meet me at a cost I could afford. The installation was within 2 weeks of the initial conversation, and they were all really nice and knowledgeable when talking to the installation team. I wish I would have started with these guys and not went through weeks of getting other bids before talking to them. What an amazing experience.

Aaron, Ryan, & Armondo installation technicians were on time, efficient, friendly and communicative. Janet and Gina in the office were readily available in office to answer questions. Morrison was fairly priced too and great at communicating throughout process. Highly recommend! Thank you!
  • Dana Page rated it 5/5: Great experience with these folks! It's hard to find this kind of customer service. Im usually too busy to write reviews. Joe and his team made an impression on me, from the estimate to the completion. Very affordable, in fact best out of the two other I received. I haven't used the AC unit yet. But the heat has never blown this dang hard. House heats up quick. Wife is happy, I'm happy. Shout out to Janet and Jeff, thanks! I didn't get to meet the installers unfortunately, but the wife said very polite and funny.
    Thanks Morrison,
    Dana Page.

  • Ben Krogh rated it 1/5: UPDATED 8/28/22: We are in the middle of a very poor experience working with Morrison Heating and Cooling. Our home had an old central AC system that needed replacing, and I got several bids from companies in the area. Morrison promised quality and their bid was more competitive than the other two companies, so I moved forward with them after reading reviews.

The install was mid July. After the install, my nest thermostat stopped working (it had worked with my old system) and I managed to get it working after a reset. I called Morrison to please come take a look because the system wasn’t functioning as it should. A technician came out to check on it, and after he worked with some of the wiring my thermostat stopped working again. He said the system “just wouldn’t work” with the Nest, and that he’d install a temporary thermostat until they could come back to update the wiring for Nest.

The system came back on, but after he left, water started leaking out of the condenser coil area in the system and my laundry room was covered in water. The following day, Morrison called me and said “Sorry, your existing furnace is not compatible with the AC system we installed, you’re going to have to replace your entire furnace.” They told me “Good news though, we’ll only charge you $1500 at cost.” I told them there was no way I could afford spending another $1,500 to fix a problem they caused. Eventually, their regional manager said they would “eat the cost” and install the furnace for free.

The crew came out and installed the new furnace. They said everything was going to work great. After they left, the air conditioning didn’t work again and was just blowing hot air (this was during the heat wave where we hit 105º). We had to sleep somewhere else because our house had no AC and we had to wait for them to come back. They came back eventually and replaced our thermostat and charged the compressor to match the new furnace, something the crew didn’t do when they installed it.

Fast forward to today, and we have had gallons of water still leaking out of our brand new system! There is black mold growing in my laundry room from the water damage, and I’m totally at the end of my rope. This is a horrible company, do not do business with them if you’re looking for heating or cooling work. I’ve attached a photo of the mold, I’m trying to help others avoid the same problems we have had. We’re considering filing a suit with the company at this point.

David N. rated it 5/5: For last couple of years I've used these folks to maintain and repair an aging and failing water heater/boiler. Based on their response and effort to fix my problems – and expertise in boilers – I finally bit the bullet and contracted for installation of a new Lochinvar combo boiler. I trusted their judgement and recommendation that this unit will perform better and last longer than other brand originally installed about 9 years ago. Installation went smooth and quicker than estimated. All workers (they sent a full crew) were friendly and professional, and came all masked up.

  • Dyanne Gray rated it 5/5: We had a great experience working with The Heating Specialist when replacing our old furnace and A/C. Our salesperson, Daniel presented us with a range of options that would best suit our needs, home size and budget. There was some issues about whether or not we could us our old A/C unit and in the end we opted for a newer energy efficient (quieter) model. They were able to schedule the installation the following week and Daniel was great following up the day before to confirm that they were still on schedule to do the work. Morgan & Chris showed up on time, laid down plastic and drop cloths from my back door down to where the furnace was which I appreciated as I have carpet and the furnace is in a finished basement. They were extremely pleasant and efficient. First explaining what they would be doing (part of the installation was to remove a vent from the chimney and reroute with new PVC pipe for more efficient air intake/out take) and letting me know along the way that everything was going well. After all was in place they walked me through all the important stuff like where the gas shut off valve is, how to use the new thermostat that was part of the package. Their clean up was spotless, couldn't even tell they were there!! Morgan was quick to point out that since it is winter they can't properly test the A/C but that we will get a call from the office When temps get above 65 to schedule a time to come out to fine tune it. They also arrange all the permits and will contact us to schedule the city inspection that is required. The furnace, which is a Lenox EL296V Gas, is so quiet I had to go downstairs to confirm it was on. I never realized how noisy our old one was!!! Can't wait to try the A/C as the old unit was so noisy you could sit out on our patio if it was on.
I am very please with the service and would totally recommend them to others.

  • Deanna Charland rated it 5/5: About 2 yrs ago the heating specialists installed a new heater for us. In the middle of a bad snow and ice storm when our very old heater stopped working. We had a great experience working with them. Today we had them do a small repair. I called on a Sunday night and Kevin offered to come out right then, but we waited until the morning. Kevin called before he came, was on time and was very friendly. I appreciated him explaining things to me and he didn't mind me asking questions. I highly recommend them! Very professional.
  • Todd Tomlinson rated it 5/5: The team at The Heating Specialist did an amazing job of replacing our old worn out furnace and air conditioning system. Jimmy, Jeffrey, and Austin were here on time, were super attentive to details, kept us appraised of their progress, and did an amazing job of installing our new heating and cooling system.
The whole team, from Daniel working with us to get us the right setup for our house, through Presley handling the scheduling, through Jimmy, Jeffrey, and Austin who showed up today to do the tear out and install were all above and beyond our expectations. The install team was impressive – they put down protectors on our carpeting and left us in way better shape than when they arrived. Thank you for helping us and we look forward to you doing all of our future maintenance work!
  • Kara Monroe rated it 2/5: Edit-The company eventually agreed that I should not have to pay for that estimate and my check was returned.

Most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. They gave me an estimate that was so high I did some investigation. I looked up the price of the parts and found the bill to be around $8000 higher than it should be. I asked for a clarification and break down of costs and I was completed ignored. I figured they realized I knew they were trying to scam me and thought that would be the end of it. I had the work done by another company (same unit quoted) for thousands less. I was completely surprised when then this company called asking for payment $210 (including a $20 charge for gas). I called explaining that I the estimate was a complete rip off and I was told " they have a right to charge what ever they want". Unless you have an extra $200 to waste I suggest you don't ask this unethical company for an estimate.

  • Dan Gartner rated it 5/5: Great to work with. Owner Scott came out in a timely manner and was very helpful and professional in helping us realize Ductless was the way to go for our third floor. Quote was timely, Scott and his team were responsive whenever I had questions by email or phone. Install team was professional and easy to work with as well. It’s been about a month but so far we’re loving our ductless heads. Heat and cool very well. Would definitely recommend Trantel!

They looked at the issue, explained in detail what was happening and how they were going to fix it. 2 hours later they were done, everything worked perfectly and they cleaned up to the point you couldn’t tell any work had been performed. Really nice, personable and professional. Will definitely use again!
  • Bill Wilson rated it 5/5: I had a leaky drain pain on my A/C condenser unit which sits on top of the furnace. After mistakenly calling another company(rhymes with moth) whose estimates were only geared towards upselling me an entire new home furnace system, I called Trantel on the recommendation of a friend. I found them very responsive. Tristan the tech came out and confirmed diagnosis, and I received a bid few days later. Their bid was over $2k less than the place trying to upsell. I moved forward with Trantel and they just performed the repair. They were courteous, on-time and communicated well. I couldn't be happier. Thank you for your work!

From purchase to install, to annual tune ups, Pioneer has been fantastic to work with. We highly recommend Pioneer Gas Furnace for your heating and cooling needs.
  • David Jenkins rated it 5/5: Our old Portland home only had central head and with the summers getting warmer and warmer I knew I needed to get an A/C unit installed. I reached out to Pioneer Gas Furnace about 3-4 months ago and the lady I spoke to on the phone was actually able to give me a rough estimate which was great! I got multiple bids and no other company was able to give me even a rough estimate over the phone. Mike (who I believe is the owner) came by my home a couple of weeks later and was nothing but professional and kind. He thoroughly explained the situation and gave me a few quotes to choose from. All well within the range of the rough estimate! Mike was not sales-y at all (which almost every other company was) and gave me a clear picture of what to expect with each option. He even said one of the lower cost options would be perfectly fine because my house didn’t need the top shelf A/C units due to it being single story and not huge. It was so relieving to just get honest answers. His bid came in well under the other bids and I booked the appointment. Fast forward two months later and the install goes 100% smoothly. Even the electrician they contracted with was wonderful. Everyone was professional and thorough in their work. I had bought a new thermostat prior to the appointment and they installed it for me at no additional cost! I can’t recommend Mike and his team enough. They did a tremendous job and I’m so happy to have cool comfort within my home. Thanks so much Pioneer Gas Furnace!!

  • Peter Rueegger rated it 5/5: I am so happy I switched from my existing furnace service provider to Pioneer Gas Furnace. Every interaction I've had with them was very pleasant. Starting with Molly who directed the calls to the technician that showed up at my house. Excellent communication and I felt very well taken care of. I am looking forward to doing more business with Pioneer in the future.
  • LS Hunt rated it 5/5: Pioneer Gas Furnace saved me during the 2022 ice storm. My furnace stopped working, and they patiently explained to me via the phone how to thaw my frozen condenser pump drainage tube and I was able to get the furnace running again.
    Thank you, Pioneer Gas Furnace!
