This place is SO clean. Whoever designed the lay-out is so smart, the dryers are directly above the washing machines. Very large space with ample machines for everyone. Small loaders to 50lb loaders. The staff was very helpful and courteous too!
    Another bonus is that there is a full coffee cafe inside. Lattes etc.
    Outlets for charging your devices while you wait as well. Clean mens and women's restrooms as well.

Machines are new, take credit cards, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The layout is ergonomically set up, washers are on the bottom and dryers are directly on top. I’ve been all over the country/other countries and this laundry mat is the most A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. First of all, I was so impressed by its appearance at first glance. I’ve never seen a laundry mat with a coffee bar inside it. Secondly, whoever decorates the place has impeccable taste. It’s very classy and upscale for a place that is stereotypically scummy. And lastly, the staff is so friendly and helpful it was unreal. I literally felt like I was in a parallel universe when I walked through the door. On top of all of that, they don’t have beat up, crummy machines. Their machines are new and work very quick and efficiently. 1,000,000,000/10. HIGHLY recommend. I wish every laundry mat in America was like this one!!!

    Oh, and they have free Wifi!! Plenty of tables to sit at too. Fantastic if you need to get some work done while you wait on your clothes :)))

    Very helpful employees helped us figure out the rest.

    Kind of expensive – $5 wash, $5 dry – but machines are big. Maybe there's a "frequent washer/dryer" program : )

    Hot drinks and baked goods available for purchase. Very nice! Even the bathrooms were good!

    Kind of a sketchy neighborhood though.

  • Wise Wolf rated it 5/5: The ladies are very friendly and do lots of cleaning, the asian man on the weekends is rude, yells at the customers, doesn't do much cleaning, and closes hours early. I pretty much consider the place closed on the weekends.

    I bring my knitting along while I wait, which isn't very long if you separate out your clothes in the dryers. The washers aren't very long, less than half an hour.

    It can be 3 tokens (20 lbs), 5+ tokens (40 lbs) (+ meaning an extra wash is 1 token, and an extra rinse is 1 token), or 7 tokens (60 lbs) for the wash, and 1-4 tokens for the dryers. I separate my dryers and get it all done in 1-2 tokens (1 token is either 14 minutes small dryer or 12 minutes big dryer).

    If you finish up and still have tokens, they'll buy them back at the same rate, a dollar a token.

    They're off premises for half an hour for lunch (they don't kick you out, just lock the employee area), but otherwise, very accessible and professional team members.

Adequate washers and dryer; all functional. No place to sit however. No TV to watch my laundry being done also. However, good place to do laundry.
  • Nihao Style (Nihaostyle) rated it 2/5: I find the staff is hard to get a hold of and the most of the dryers are out of order. I doubt I'll be coming back seeing both times I've had to take my cloths elsewhere to dry them.

    The only thing I can day is good is they buy back their tokens thankfully. Theres one staff member working but the individual seems to always be in the back. Often you'll see people leave because no one answers the customers.

  • P M rated it 1/5: Made the grand mistake of attempting to do my laundry here while on vacation. Had 2 loads of laundry to wash. Used the $3.75 washers. Both of them ate quarters. Didn’t start. Ended up paying almost $5.00 a load once you factor the lost quarters. Service from a clerk was dismal at best. Guess what happened again, a dryer did the same thing. Wash at your own risk. The place is old. The machines are old. Washing public beware.

It has a large number of machines, of various sizes, top and front loading, an extractor, and lots of dryers. So many, I have never had to wait for a machine. The place was always clean, bright, and cheerful with several healthy plants as decor. The customers are friendly, no worries about thugs hanging around. Prices within reason.

    Sorry to say, I was disappointed during yesterday's visit. The place is not being maintained like before. The first machine I wanted to use had debris left in it. The tops of machines and counters hadn't been dusted or wiped down in quite awhile. The floor needed mopping, despite the mop bucket of dirty water sitting next to the extractor, and the poor plants needed tending. I hear the owner's brother is in charge now; apparently he spends more time talking than maintaining.

    Nevertheless, I got my items laundered and dried, and that's the bottom line. Hope the place gets the cleaning it needs.

    Edit: I went back yesterday to wash some blankets. The place smelled like terrible Indian food, it was gagging. I pressed onward anyway. The machines did not spin the water out of the blankets very well. I put them into a large dryer, set it a spinning and left. When I Came back and the door to the dryer had come open, and my blankets were still soaked. No attendant on hand to help. I was just disgusted. I took the blankets home and hung them up to dry. -3 pts for that experience.

Small washers run $3.00, medium washers run $5.50 and the very large washers (which fit 2 queen sized comforters) run $7.00. Dryers are $0.25 for 2 mins, a bit expensive but what are you going to do.

    Very quiet place with a little snack bar to purchase snacks. Quite a few machines so most likely won’t need to wait for a machine. They have laundry drop off services available for $1.85/lb as well.

    Only downside is there are only a few chairs (about 6) to sit. So I’d recommend just waiting in your car while your stuff washes. Also, none of the machines take card or cash. So be prepared to bring all the quarters you can carry or bring cash to get change from the machine.

Never friendly! Now I know why…today the owner came up to me and said you only dry. I asked what the problem was? He said make money. I said I'm spending $ and asked if he had a sign posted. He does not. When I left I told him I would not be coming back.

    Tip for those who haven't been here before: Washers work with tokens. You need $3 (3 tokens) to run a load. The front desk sells these and welcomes debit cards. For dryers, you have to switch to quarters! (Don't put tokens in the dryers! They won't work!) But you can also get your quarters at the front desk (or swap tokens for quarters like I had to do)

    Plenty of seats for patrons. Old-school cedar decor hasn't changed much since the 80s probably, but that just added to the charm.

Drawbacks are a $4.50 regular load, $6.50 and $8.50 large machine. $.25 per 5 minutes on regular setting for the dryer. There isn't any WiFi.

Every time I have been there (usually between 4pm and midnight, 0100), the facility is busy. However, once you determine which washers are being used and what is open, or coming open, it is not difficult to establish a rhythm which gets the job done. The other patrons are of the wide cultural variety that makes Alaska an interesting place to live. Most folks are, if not accepting, tolerant of each other no matter the hour of the day. The attendants do a good job of keeping the place clean, the trash emptied, and the coin machine filled and operational. Broken down washers and dryers are fixed relatively fast. The cost of going here vs a regular laundromat is higher, but, then, we pay for the convenience of 24/7.
    Edit: The only thing to change since this entry is that the cleanliness of the laundry facility has not been a priority for the staff. This could be due to staff shortages and I continue to utilize their services once a month or so.

Anchorage's Coin-op Laundromat is a great place to wash your clothes. The staff is friendly and the machines are clean and well-maintained. The prices are reasonable, and the laundromat is always open late. There is plenty of parking, and the location is convenient. I would definitely recommend this laundromat to anyone in the area.

    I thought the prices were pretty fair.

    The only issue I had was some of the drying process can be difficult if you don't know which dryer to put your clothes in to get the best millage for your quarter. But the vast assortment of machines makes it easy for multiple loads to be dried and washed at once.

  • brandy moore rated it 4/5: My daughter and I went there today. We brought in our blankets, we can’t wash in our washer. My daughter pink blanket went missing. I believe we didn’t shut the washer right, someone saw it open decided to take my daughter blanket closed the washer up. I do remember who the person was because them was the only one by my washer. My daughter not upset at all. Her words were I guess they needed it more than I do. How about next time just ask!
    The lady there was very nice and sweet. I didn’t say anything because what can she do. I will go back there, just next time I’ll make sure the washer is closed right!

    UPDATE: Response from Owner: Thank you. We will take care of that. You should ask to employee for use restroom. That out of order sign is for only homeless people.

    Horrible parking lot, most of the dryers are out of service. Don’t know why it’s been so long. The owner needs to get them fix asap. Clean maintain place, but needs better management.
    If you plan to go here. Go early on a weekday when it’s not busy. If it’s busy, you will not have a dryer to dry your clothes.
    Also, horrible hours as well. They need to open earlier, & close later!
    Prefer 9am-9pm!
