gamingPJ 47 rated it 1/5: ZIP Cleaners (Norfolk) lost my clothing. I submitted a claim and sent numerous emails to their corporate office and never heard anything back. I have been waiting to hear back since August. They are very unprofessional. It's like they don't care. I will never go back. I do not recommend ZIPS Cleaners at all.

  • Victoria Pevarnik rated it 4/5: Speedy affordable service, though they didn’t get the stains out of the dresses the first time I took them there. I had to point that out for them the second time I brought them to get cleaned again. I thought they would have done that on their own, but apparently not. Friendly staff.
  • Lamonte Jackson rated it 1/5: The location is one of the few cleaners that I will not be returning to. The customer service was great. It’s the pick up that’s not a great experience. I dropped my clothes off on Friday, September 2 around 12:30pm and was expected to pick up my garments Saturday, September 3 after 5pm. I had to go out of town due to a family emergency and I had someone else that had my ticket to pick up my garments. My niece stated she waited for a long time for the representative to find my garments. To no avail they were not ready and they won’t be ready for pick up until Tuesday. I won’t need the garments to be cleaned then. I needed them for Sunday, September 4th for my church service. This isn’t the first time I’ve made a complaint to the owner of this establishment. Needless to say I will not be returning. The policy says in by 9am and pick up by 5pm. Well that policy has been broken numerous of times. I won’t be returning. It’s ridiculous. Why pay for garments first and don’t receive them at the allocated time. This location needs to be closed and reopened with new personnel. This location wouldn’t have 1 star from me but I couldn’t post the review unless I give a star. To be honest no stars because I have no garments. I would like to receive my money back please. Thank you!!!
  • SUE DESAI rated it 1/5: Poor service. I dropped my clothes off on 07/27/22. When I went to pick them up, I was missing 5 pieces. I went every week to inquire and was told they can not find it. They kept asking me to wait so they can find my missing pieces. On Sep 3rd they asked me to file a claim. The manager Katherine told me to wait 30 days. I waited until oct 3rd. I have been calling everyday. No one picks up the phone and I have been leaving messages for Katherine. NO response. Very frustrating !!!
  • Kerry Stamps rated it 1/5: I went to the location in Norfolk, Va and when I arrived, I found out that they were closing an hour early due to lack of staffing. Then I noticed that the Black manager at the site was servicing anyone that wasn’t black with no problem and not allowing anyone that was black in, it wasn’t until my wife ran up to him and told him that I was only picking up my service uniform that was payed for that he allowed my wife through the door. I did not like his body language that he was giving my wife, so that made hurry into the site to see if she was ok. Then when I arrived his whole demeanor changed and he began wanting to joke around with me. This is unacceptable business practices and I’m very much offended by his actions. If I could find another location to drop off my garments I would. Just thought you should know! New management is badly in need at this location! I’m reading all the past reviews from a few years ago and everyone is in agreement that new management is needed. The current manager needs to go and someone with better customer service skills toward Black customers needs to replace him ASAP!

Lee Gee rated it 5/5: The people who work here are always helpful. Unlike the military circle location where everyone is rude and acts as if it's a disservice to help

Most relevant reviews:

  • James Svec rated it 5/5: I had a really hard time with the car wash and Tasha was so sweet and helpful. She was running the laundromat and the car wash all by herself. I would have been stressed doing her job but she was just as kind as any human being could be. I have used this laundromat and car wash for over 25 years and she is the best person that they have ever hired, in my opinion. I hope that she is at least a manager and if the owner sees how she operates, than she should get a raise for sure. She would truly deserve it. Thank you, Tasha!

  • Veronica Bolanos rated it 5/5: Good place to do your laundry. Plus the machines clean really well.
  • Joycena Skelton rated it 5/5: While visiting I was in and out in less than 1hr and a half, very clean and all washers and dryers work and are clean also.
  • Vivek rated it 3/5: The review is for the touchless car wash as it is at the same address where the laundromat is. Nice place to get your car washed without any brushes but then you gotta dry off a lot of water as blowers only dry/rinse 80-85% of water. Take two extra towels for safer side.

Brent Humphries rated it 4/5: I am staying in Norfolk for 3 weeks and the hotel does not have a washing machine so I went to this place. I looked around and an older lady who worked there came to help. She showed me how to get a laundry card, add money to it, showed me the different machines. I washed my clothes with no problems, 30 minutes wash, 40 min in the dryer. It was air conditioned, fairly clean. Another lady was sweeping while I was there, I worked on my computer while I waited. No issues. I'm going back next week

I do wash and fold And I'm quite particular about my clothes being washed by another. I want to thank Amy Guess from the bottom of my heart for doing my laundry so lovely and perfectly. After years I finally found someone that I can depend on. She is super AT what she does.

  • Maria White rated it 4/5: Went in just after 8 on Sunday July 31st 2022. The place is great! I was there one other time and both employees/owners were professional and sweet.

This place would be amazing if you didn’t have to deal with the few “entitled, selfish, idiotic people”.

    810 am
Arrived started laundry. Set my timer for 3 minutes before washing machine turned off.

840ish am went to pull clothes out wash, found 1 empty Wash Land cart that didn’t have empty an empty laundry basket hogging the cart while they still had a full wash to go.
    Placed clothes in dryer.

    920ish am
Went to check my clothing. It was dry. Noted the same Wash Land carts being hogged by multiple different people. There were NO free carts. NOT ONE. Don’t know what personal basket was owned to whoever was around me. Let me reiterate, these are personal belonging EMPTY laundry baskets in PUBLIC carts being bogged for at least 45min now.

So guess what I did? I pulled the personal basket out to use the public cart. AND I was still going to return the public cart to the person after I pulled my items out and put them at a table to fold.

Still 920ish. I looked for a free cart, none were available. Grabbed the cart nearest me and set the black laundry basket on the floor. Pulled my items out, placed the black basket laundry basket in the same spot it initially was and went to quickly organize my items on the table. Apparently the selfish, entitled acting female hogging carts was in front of me. She asked me if I just to her her basket without asking? I told her yes because I need a basket. I was going to explain to her there were no free carts but she was just rude. Said “I don’t care don’t touch my [stuff]. So I said alright put all my stuff back in the public cart and moved away. I was about to let her negative, petty, entitled attitude ruin my day. I told her “okay, I guess I won’t return the cart to you”. I walked away and she mumbled something ignorant and childish.

IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR STUFF TOUCHED DONT LEAVE IT IN A CART THAT IS MEANT FOR ALL PATRONS!

THE MOMENT YOU DO THAT YOU THINK YOU ARE CAUSING A SHORTAGE.

DONT BE SO LAZY THAT YOU CAN’T RETURN/AND GRAB A CART WHEN YOU NEED IT.

For any reader saying something about COVID. I get it. I do. Wash your hands, take sanitizers with you. You are in a public setting. This lady wasn’t wearing a mask. She was mad because her things got touched. Well?! Don’t leave it in a public cart. Don’t be lazy. I know she didn’t know this but I had just sanitized my hands before walking back in from my car.

Anywho, I let the employee know, he acknowledged my comment and seemed to be understanding. It wasn’t a big deal and shouldn’t be a big deal. I just hope maybe the owners will read this and buy more carts or not allow people to hog the carts. That would be a nice change to avoid frustrating encounters.

  • Gwen Watson rated it 4/5: Very nice attended laundromat. It is a little more expensive than some smaller places, but it is clean and well maintained. There is plenty of seating at tables so you could even bring a laptop if you wanted.
  • William Davis rated it 3/5: Wash Land is somewhat on the pricey side ( this is why I prefer the traditional coin operated laundries ). On the flip side of things they had snack machines, internet, widescreen TV, an attendant, and it was clean. I don't believe I saw any machines that were out of order. My only complaint is that the places expensive

Brianna-Lynn Baker rated it 1/5: As a disabled woman it can be hard for me to do my own laundry when it piles up so I took a chance on their wash and fold services. I regret every second of it. I brought my own dryer sheets and detergent and mentioned that I have sensitive skin and that I needed it used and they definitely did not use only my stuff because my laundry smelled highly of fragrance and caused me to break out. I requested everything to be hung and when I arrived not a single item was hung, all of it was folded and bagged. I then asked for them to at least give me some hangers so I could do it myself at home and they originally refused. After reminding them that they didn’t do what I requested in the first place they gave me some. I recognize that hanging items can be a lot of work and was ready to tip well for the service but they didn’t do anything I requested so obviously I didn’t give them it. I’m extremely disappointed. I did wash and fold to make my life easier and instead got an allergic reaction and had to do their job for them.

  • Zeda Maee rated it 5/5: I've been coming for a little over year & the place is always clean & the staff is pleasant. The machines operate w cards & you add the funds via card or cash, no coin. There are options for dryer sheets, bleach, and detergent in small quantities that are also operated by the wash card. Snack machine takes cash
  • Misty Herring rated it 5/5: My dryer went out and I needed to find a laundromat. It has been years since visiting one. I found this one and I loved the card option for the machines so I didn't have a bunch of quarters. The staff was super friendly and this place was super clean and nice. Thank you!
  • Barry Davis rated it 5/5: The Ladies that work here are really nice, helpful, and hardworking… They will literally drop what they're doing to help with any issues you're having loading money on the cards or getting your wash started! Getting a laundry card was very easy. The cost for washing and drying was affordable. The dryer heats up really good too. The only drawback, I wish there was more of a selection of vending machines (i.e. Coke products). Update: the best to go is during early afternoon weekdays. Evenings and weekends can get really busy.

It was also the lady's birthday and she'd set up her own birthday cake and all, happy belated birthday and thank you for your help and generosity!

My husband told the lady "hey the button is not working" for hot wash. The lady just shrug it off and continue her conversation with other customers as if she was at a family reunion. This occurred on 4/10/22 around 1600hrs. So to the owner of this establishment get people who care about your machines and stop others before using something if that's not what they are needing. Hmph…. horrible customer service!!!!! 0 for me!!!

  • primadolla jones rated it 5/5: My visit was quick..they had machines available. I only had 1 load. The place was clean and the laundry attendant was attentive and quick.
  • Topswatta Sam rated it 4/5: This place is usually clean and the machines are clean, except for one time I went and saw dirt in three machines. I left my wallet in one of the baskets and a tall cleaning guy who was doing his rounds, found it and handed it to the lady in the office at the back. I had called before that and she said she didn’t see it but he found it and I was able to retrieve it. I don’t know his name but that was very honest of him.
  • Eon Seas rated it 3/5: This place is something. The older attendant is hardly available. She nice and strange if you can pull her away from enjoying her brown cigarettes to assist with your credit card transactions and to unlock the bathroom door it is cool. Clean and a lot of machines. 🤭 You can buy an air conditioner or heater from the panhandlers right in front of the building on some occasions.
  • jessica peters rated it 2/5: Hot..doors OPEN.. Both sets.. On a 100 degree day.. it's always lovely to do laundry but the dryers sweating like a damn cold drink in the heat. Candy machine took my money.. Junk was in one of the washer I used.. Dunno what it even was.. bleh..my bf goes here..I would never choose this place again for own use under any circumstance.

  • Tyesha Jones rated it 5/5: I'm giving 5 stars for convenience only. This location is very close to my home. I went last week and there was 2 homeless people inside smoking weed. Smh. It was totally unnecessary. The owners need to enforce the rules because it was crazy. Smoking, putting in make up in the reflection of the dryer door, basically bathing and brushing teeth in the bathroom. Once a lady was sleep on the bench and told me " do I have to make so much noise!?" Bruh🤦🏾‍♀️
  • Jessica Bell rated it 5/5: This was my first time at the Wash House Norview and decided to opt for the drop off/pick up full service. It was worth every dime! LaTosha did an excellent job with my clothes. Every item was folded & hung to perfection. I really appreciate all of her hard work and care. I’ll definitely be returning. Thank You!

  • Arrie rated it 1/5: This used to be a clean, quiet, affordable place but they raised the price on everything and the last time I went, half of the washers had roaches crawling all through them 🤢
  • Raven Taylor rated it 1/5: This location in particular is trash honestly. I pressed the emergency stop button to fix an issue with the wash and the machine just kept beeping and would not open. It’s still beeping as I write the post. I called the 252 number listed on the paper, BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ATTENDANT AT THE LOCATION TO ASSIST, and all the person did was barely text me and not answer my calls. All of this because I requested to emergency stop the wash because an item got stuck in the crack of the wash and I wanted to fix it because I paid for ALL of my clothes to be washed and not one to be left out. Get someone at this location to assist customers because anything can happen at any given moment. People don’t have time to waste and wait for inconveniences like this.

Peter Jaxon rated it 4/5: Everything you need in a neighborhood laundromat except attendant, there were two guys sitting behind a counter, but their role was unclear! Clean, good working machines. Change and soap dispenser available. Convenient location in Ghent.

  • Joe Kopacz rated it 5/5: Clean and easy place to do laundry. Washers and dryers work well. Comfortable benches to sit while you're laundry is going. Thanks for being a good laundromat.
  • Frank Cassata rated it 5/5: Came into town for business and had an emergency need to get laundry done due to spill in luggage. Location was overall clean (4/5), in a good location and had ample parking. Major perk of the location is it takes credit cards for washers and dryers without an additional service charge, great for those who don't carry around quarters or small bills for the bill breaker. Only areas that would benefit from some modernization/refreshment would be the supplies vending was cash only, causing me to need to leave and buy detergent elsewhere and come back, as well as the laundromat was a bit aged and dingy inside, overall clean but could use a mop and scrub to remove some of the stagnant airflow it had inside .

  • J Overman rated it 2/5: The place is nice and clean. I love the design of the seating and the adequate amount of washer and dryers available. However, the dryers do not function. The washers work fine but the dryer will leave your clothes damp no matter how long you set the time or temperature.

You have to keep swiping your card to add additional minutes and when the machine doesn’t function, you are just giving them that money for nothing. The staff refers you to call some phone number and place a complaint with them to receive a refund but staff does not have any control over the process. Of course, no one will respond if you call that number.

You can use your dollars and coins there too and they have a machine to turn your dollars into change. Random people walk in off the street and ask for money from people. The staff seems distant and uninterested. I will not be returning.

  • Veronica Bolanos rated it 1/5: Don't use this place. They (owners) apparently do not clean the washing machines as they should internally. My clothes came out smelling sour. Not only that, the machine destroyed my pants leaving a residue behind on the material. I was so angry after paying a kings ransom just to wash 2 loads. Oh, did I mention the dryers take forever as you continually feed quarters into it? Avoid the laundry mat and drive somewhere else..This place sucks!
