  • Kate Hall rated it 5/5: Pick up and drop off at your door same day…and parceled with like items together in a raffia ribbon? Exquisite. Fresh, neatly folded and packed laundry from a company that is responsive and thorough. A little on the pricey side but it's great to do once in a while to catch up if you've gotten behind. An awesome gift for busy lives 🙂

  • Olivia Rosaldo-Pratt rated it 5/5: It was even better than I expected. Not only was everything clean and folded, but it was sorted to the best they were able. All the baby pants together in a cute bundle. The kindergartners clothes together. It was a MAJOR time saver. I was worried how it would work if everything was folded, but I had to unfold stuff to figure out what was what. Or just that sorting might be slower with everything folded. But since they sorted it already pretty much all I had to do was put it away! Easily saved me several hours of work. Such an amazing service to have when you need some of your time back. And easy to use so none of that problem where it takes a ton of your time to get help with something. This is simple and straightforward with very little thought required on my part. Such an easy way to offload one household task. THANK YOU!
  • Kristin Kurth rated it 5/5: This service is the best gift I could ever have given myself. No more dreading the overflowing laundry basket!! Family Laundry cleans it and returns it all perfectly folded … and tied with a bow (packets of clothing by person are grouped together and tied with raffia string). It’s fabulous!!!
  • Chhimed Drolma rated it 5/5: Amazing, a godsend, the bomb, so helpful, artistic and beautiful presentation of returned laundry – impressive!!! Both people who picked up and delivered were cheerful, energetic, and lovely. The communication with Family Laundry was timely and super helpful. The finished, returned laundry is wonderful and I'm so happy they don't use toxic cleaning agents. 5 shining stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sis Nau T rated it 5/5: Clean with the fluff and fold service option. Parking can be a lil challenging at times… Having a pizza parlor and corner store across the street is a plus. They also have options for payment -machines that take cards or cash and an ATM on site for your convenience! Plus there's an Amazon pick up site.

  • Gregory Collins rated it 5/5: This place is my go-to laundromat in the Lake Merritt area. It's large and has a huge selection of washers and dryers. Their hours are extremely accommodating as well. I've gone on different days throughout the week and the early mornings on weekdays are the least crowded times to go. But even when it is crowded, I've never had trouble finding a machine to use. A double bonus is that you can use both cards and coins here 🙌🏽. One last thing, the management that runs this place are kind spirited and always willing to help you with any of your questions or concerns.
  • Lakeshore Local SEO rated it 5/5: Lots of big, fast washers and dryers capable of double and triple loads. The whole place is clean and well maintained, and Lottie (the owner) is friendly and helpful; once she offered me a spray of some extra strength cleaner to add for a pet bed. One of my favorite features is all the machines take credit/debit cards so I don’t have to stock up on quarters; can also pay with DexterPay. Window seating and lots of benches and tables for folding or just hanging out while you enjoy the free wifi.
  • R B rated it 5/5: Love this spot but hate the parking situation. I like the very open concept and the app integration as well as card features. This was the first spot I went to and have consistently returned to, as the washer and drier at my complex are tiny, probably purposefully so as to get more from tenants. The staff at LML is friendly and they even have Amazon lockers set up inside should you want to have all your packages sent in there. I recommend going early weekend mornings if you are doing your own laundry, so you can find decent parking. If you’re like me, you don’t want to walk around a block or half a block with dirty clothing and bulky sheets.
  • Montana Jewett rated it 1/5: Used to love this place. Until it took my money and the lady walked off and wouldn’t help.

I added 65 minutes to the pinpad and swiped my laundry card. It charged me $3.25. Then I pressed start button when the light above was flashing green. The dryer only went up to 40 minutes and the lights on the screen flashed “99 min max”. I then figured maybe I needed to just add it in smaller increments and added 10 minutes to the pin pad and paid $.50 for it. Again got the 99 minute max message. This is when I brought the lady’s attention to the issue and she said she doesn’t give refunds (which is fine I get it). She walked over to the machine (dryer 57) and I offered to show her the issue and she laughed and this is when she walked off. Customers were even watching this go down.

She claimed I was taking a risk by using her machines? I told her I “was taking a risk by being her customer” and using her product.

  • Miriam Garcia rated it 5/5: Been coming to Woody's for the past 22 yrs, Steve, Jack and Robert "Bob", all brothers, are friendly and very caring, they are like my loving family… the Laundromat IS ALWAYS CLEAN! In addition, we must have a coffee and pastry from their Woody's Cafe while washing our clothes… Luv them
    👍✌
  • Gregory Collins rated it 5/5: Recently, I've found myself coming to this laundromat more often to wash my clothes. At first I wasn't a fan because they only take quarters and I had an issue with one of the machines. However, the facility is located around the corner from Chase Bank where you can get cash to exchange quarters at the laundromat and the staff member helped fix my issue in the matter of minutes. The facility is huge with an overwhelming amount of washers and dryers. Plenty of mega washers and dryers (see photos). They also happen to be conveniently next to a cafe and a dispensary. Lastly they have FREE PARKING! If you're in the Ivy Hill neighborhood, you should definitely consider using it.
  • Stephanie Hoffman rated it 5/5: This laundromat is a hidden gem of Oakland. It is extremely clean, has change machines and commercial size washers/dryers, reasonably priced, and bonus, it has a café right next-door! The owner(s) and staff are also super friendly. Highly recommend Woody’s for your laundry needs.
  • Lora Torgessen rated it 5/5: Free, off street parking.
Always an, attentive, attendant on sight, decent priding, very clean, plenty of washers (of three sizes), and dryers.
Their Wash and Fold service is reasonably priced.
The owners are, very, friendly and responsive to customers as well.

Carmela E. rated it 3/5: Dec. '22 UPDATE:
25% of W/Ds need repair- always. I watched prices double this year and time you pay for shortened.
The machines are programed to skim off some minutes that you paid for: 1min is actually 45sec. It may not seem like much, but when you paid the dryer $.25/5min @ 30min but really get 22.5 (first 2min the dryer is just warming up, last min is cooling down), it really counts. Takes 60min to dry a Carhartt sweatshirt and pants.
Crew is still polite and approachable (except the guy on Sat morning shift, kinda detached from job).

I've been loyal to this lavenderia since 2015, I drive 20 minutes to be here as they're worth the while. They're always clean, always cleaning. Very kind staff. Always greet them. Because they're fantastic. Coins are only useful for the vending machines.

  • Norastine Riley rated it 4/5: Parking requires a bit of luck and patience at peak times, but it always works out. During professional sports games is the best time to go, but go hungry because there are so many fabulous options from Ethiopian to Brazilian. Of course pizza and vegan ice cream. Yes I go for the food, while my clothes happen to be getting washed. You know a better way? Ill wait. Lol!
  • Eddy K rated it 3/5: This place will get the job done for your laundry and is conveniently located, but that doesn't mean it's a nice or pleasant experience. The parking area is quite small so it's unlikely you'll get a spot during busy times, though there should be spaces at off peak hours. If you're a regular and once you get in your groove and can get in-and-out without needing anything, then sure this place gets the job done.

There seems to always be some broken machines, but instead of fixing them, they seem to just put a paper "broken" sign on it indefinitely. Even the ones that do work tend to sometimes leak water out of the side-loading washers (perhaps the seal is not good), so for regulars you learn to memorize which washers are good and which are so-so.

For moving clothes around, they have the standard basket on wheels, but patrons tend to horde them and leave something in the basket to "claim" it for the entire duration of their wash and dry cycle even though it's not being utilized. There never seems to be enough, so sometimes you're just out of luck and there's no way to move your clothes to the dryer.

If you ever need help for anything, good luck finding anyone who works there. They are never to be found.

Overall, as I mentioned, if you're a regular that knows this place in and out and can just do your laundry, then you can usually get the job done from here, but that's about it.

  • Sharon Shao rated it 1/5: I’m literally here right now and can’t find any attendants to help me. I put my clothes through a double load washer, waited for the cycle to complete, and they clearly haven’t been washed. half of them are still dry. I called the phone number and it’s dead. How can I get any assistance and refund??

Donna Okpala rated it 1/5: I used to come here all the time …BUT This is the dirtest place i have been in Oakland… And the person that is here. At 830p today was extreamly rude …. I told her that the vending machine didnt give me my $20 worth of $1.00 ( it only gave $19.00 from a $20.00 bill…. She said " that is too bad, nothing she can do…when i asked for the management she said a again "too bad" DONT LET THE COLOR OF MY SKIN BE MY ONLY SIN

  • Veronica Carrillo rated it 5/5: Very Clean, lots of washers & Dryers…Not Crowded, Parking Available, Reasonable Prices….💥💥💥💥💥
  • Santiago Lopez rated it 5/5: My amiga is wonderful 👏 ❤ always helpful and always cleaning and making sure every machine is working and when one broke down she gave me a refund. I go first thing as they open to get all my articles washed separately. She even gave me a stupendous confectionery!
  • pj Pellegrino rated it 4/5: There's a lot of machines of various sizes, dryers as well. There are HUGE dryers. There's coin machines, quarters and dollar coins. The washers only take the $1. I used machines that said $4.50 but only takes $1 soooo it's actually $5 😑🙄 the dryer takes quarters, I have a pocket full now that I realize they don't work for the machines.
The place is clean and spacious so you aren't on top of each other.
There's about a dozen laundry carts, I just hauled my stuff to the dryer in my laundry bag.
I didn't have any issues with the machine, so I didn't have much contact with the attendant. She did change my ripped bill for coins. They sell detergent and what not if you forgot it.
Someone's got an off leash dog just milling around and barking. No one seems to think that's not cool.
The parking lot is minuscule. There's maybe 20 spots and it's very narrow, probably the worst part of the experience.
Came in on a Monday around 5pm and there was plenty of open machines.

Facility is clean and well taken care of by the sweetest lady Joanne who works on site. I had my laundry done at 9ish pm and was offered a ride back to my hotel. really appreciated. 🙂
  • Rachel Frank rated it 5/5: I’ve been going to this wash house for almost a year now. The cleanliness, availability of washers and dryers as well as the customer service is top notch. The ambiance is great, full of beautiful plants art and fun signage and even has arcade games and snacks to keep my toddler occupied while I wash.

The manager Joann is so sweet and helpful it is always a joy coming in and chatting with her as I do laundry. She also provides detergent, hampers and other items needed to help the experience go with ease. I highly recommend this place.

  • Sofia K. rated it 5/5: This is my preferred laundromat. It’s clean, machines are always available, they get my clothes cleaner than the machines at my building, and you can pay with credit cards. This is critical b/c I rarely have cash and my bank won’t give me quarters so I actually can’t use the facilities in my apartment building. The lady who manages the shop is lovely too.
  • Mike Nguyen rated it 5/5: I grew up in the area and used to use this laundromat all the time. Recently visited the neighborhood to see family and decided to get a wash in while I was at it.

The place looks totally different and the changes are amazing. The machines were nice and clean, and being able to use a credit card was super convenient.

The attendant was also kind and courteous. I had to step out briefly (to get some quick grub) and she didn't mind keeping an eye on my clothes while they were drying.

Had a great experience and will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again.

The Laundry Room is a laundromat in Oakland, CA that is highly rated for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location. It is also praised for its affordable prices and large selection of washing and drying machines.

La Fuerza rated it 2/5: The facilities are generally clean. Though this doesn't apply to the bathroom as I have not used it and I've watched men walk in and out so fast that you know they aren't washing their hands. So hard pass for me.

However, I take issue w/the exorbitant amount of time it takes to dry ANYTHING in the dryers. Even after 30 minutes on high, my hoodies were damp in a few places. I ended up having to pay extra money and time to get everything dry. I've been laundering my clothes at laundromats in the area for awhile and I have to say either the dryers require maintenance or they need new dryers. I've used Advantage Laundry on Broadway and 40th (gets crowded and the attendant doesn't clean enough) Woody's and Lake Merritt Laundromat (trying to stay closer to my neighborhood and parking at Lake Merritt laundry is a fight in and of itself) and Sunshine Laundromat (super tiny – hard to maintain distance from ppl and not enough washers/dryers). At all these locations, I have been able to wash, dry and fold my laundry in ~ 2 hours. And I haven't had to continually feed the dryers to get my clothes dry. My latest visit to The Laundry Room? It was 3 hours and I didn't even bother folding up all of my clothes b/c I was so irritated that drying my clothes was taking FOREVER!!

This was my 2nd (and last time) visit. The first time I thought the extensive dryer time was a fluke. Now I know I was not imagining things and will not be visiting this laundromat ever again. It's sad b/c beyond the patrons that don't wash their hands, that is outside of the control of the laundromat. But poor drying equipment that eats away at my money and time cannot be tolerated.

And I say this after pulling a pair of laundered shorts from my laundry basket that now smell moldy and have to be laundered yet again.

Now I really can't stand you.

And yes, I know how to launder clothes and don't overfill washers or dryers w/laundry; it defeats the purpose and clothes don't get properly cleaned or dried. And it's a waste of money. I'll just make the drive to Woody's or Lake Merritt Laundry across the lake b/c they're clean, their equipment works and I've never experienced issues beyond parking, which has more to do w/the neighborhood than the facility.

  • francis montgomery rated it 4/5: Well as quiet as it's being kept. The Laundry Room is very well situated.
Coin or app payment. If you use the Dexter app you can monitor the time on your machines.
    Parking lot…not pictured
    Clean lavatory
    Plenty of seating.
Lots of dryers, washers in 3 different sizes. No top loaders.
    Spacious area for folding clothes.
On-site staff who are busy tidying up while wash and folding. Staff also manages a small "store" where laundry supplies can be purchased.
    This is a must visit.

  • Bryan Dubon rated it 2/5: Honestly just go somewhere else. I've been coming here for about 10 months since moving nearby, and in that short time they have raised prices about 3 times. Like a dollar each raise. Done coming here, if you're looking for a "permanent laundromat" look elsewhere. they'll eventually raise the price again.

Le Tran rated it 1/5: Do NOT go here. The machines will eat your money. One machine took $20 and then said “out of order.” The employees told us to return later when the owner would be there, but they all gave different answers about what time the owner would be there.

The machines also lie saying they only take dollar coins. Then they don’t give change. I later found out that they do take quarters too. So basically wanted dollar coins to have people overpay.

The clothes are cleaned and dry from well kept place. This place is both a self service laundry and full service wash/fold by the pound. It has all size washers from small to oversize loads. The prices are slightly higher but well worth it considering the other spots around. They sell detergents, bags, softeners, and static cling sheets if you forget to bring them or run out. It is pretty standard. The problem now is the empty lot that was a pho restaurant in 2015 is now occupied by a homeless camp. They sometimes visit the place. But other than that it is a cool spot to get some dirty laundry clean. There is plenty of parking on the street and the lot.
  • Anita Brett rated it 5/5: Quiet, super clean, top notch customer service from Christopher. Machines are great, lots of counter space for folding, parking lot. Honestly the nicest laundromat that I've ever used & been to
  • Jorge Torres rated it 5/5: Love this Laundry!!
    – Clean
    -organized
    -Staff
    – Clean Restaurant
    – Plus have large washer for us.

Since I found this beautiful and clean laundry I always come here.

Great work! Plus love the art work!

  • Christoverre Kohler rated it 4/5: Nice surprise. Staying nearby temporarily, I just didn't expect such a large, clean place, kept In good condition like it is. No shortage of machines, several sorting and folding stations, plenty of sundry items (soaps, dryer sheets, laundry bags, etc.) for sale onsite. And an attendant made change for me. Since some of the machines are priced to exactly dollar figures, they have lots of $1 coins on hand, too.

There's a restaurant immediately next door, with some outdoors sidewalk seating that I took advantage of. And a Burger King across the street.

Nicole Brown rated it 2/5: Convenient location, and fairly clean. The floor definitely could have used a mopping. Will maybe go back out of convenience. The only downside is the lady that works there, she always has the worst attitude & is rude as hell for no reason. Which makes me feel like I could spend my money with people who believe in customer service & common courtesy.

  • Denise Renee Johnson rated it 5/5: I love doing laundry here. The staff is polite and helpful. The washers and dryers are the best because the wash cycle is around 25 minutes and the dryers really dry your clothes with a great amount of heat not like some laundromats that lower the heat so they can get more money out of you.
  • Asmita Dahal rated it 5/5: Overall nice and safe place. The soap dispenser was broken and few of the machines were not working at the moment. For oakland it felt like safe enough to leave laundry for couple of minutes.
  • Terri Goldston rated it 5/5: I have been a patron to this very loyal hardworking family for well over 30 years and I consider them my family…. WE LOVE YOU MIKE…….456 Bearer of the the Pole only in the Northern parts Non taken away from The whole O in Oakland
  • Ruth Haynes rated it 4/5: I've started using this laundry bc our apt bldg installed computerized laundry that is a pain. It's close by; well run n the dryers are $0.25 per 7 minutes.

Ely Ms rated it 5/5: I’ve been coming to this laundromat since I was 12 years old ( W. My mom) . I am now 23 years old and all I can say is I’ve never seen it this clean and organized. I also noticed that they had hand sanitizer stations, which I thought was pretty cool.
New owners were welcoming and even gave me 21 free minutes of drying time . Just amazing .

  • ART THOMS rated it 5/5: Glad to see the new owners are taking customer service to a new level. complete remodeling of Laundromat most every machine is running compared to the previous owners who were not interested in running a customer friendly business. If you haven’t been there lately come give it another shot you’ll be impressed.
Owners even give out some quarters for some free drying because they appreciate your business.
  • Brian Vermilion rated it 5/5: Fluff and fold service returned the clothes same day. Excellent service IMO
  • Bean os rated it 3/5: Pretty boring all things considered, and the space can be a little dirty at times, overall an OK experience but I wish they kept the arcade machines
  • Dana P. Harper II rated it 1/5: Its not cool there. Trust no one, none of your property is safe from the people who frequently use this facility. As an African American, I deal with the assumptions of wrong-doing. But, to continuously have wrong done to self, in an establishment frequented by a majority Latinos and constantly having property "grow legs" and disappear? What then is the "assumption"?
