  • James Lofquist rated it 5/5: First Avenue laundromat is one of the better laundromats that is open 24 hours a day. It is clean they have change machines which will change anything $20 and under. They have large triple loaders and plenty of dryers. I found it a joy to do my laundry there and inexpensive Priced Right.
  • Holly Lewis rated it 3/5: I usually don't mind using this laundry mat but recently I like to get my clothes washed and dried ASAP.
I don't think that anyone likes being in the same building as those apparently under the influence. Instead of just sitting around and waiting for my laundry; I sat outside in my car until each load was done.
  • Yes No rated it 2/5: Well, it is close to my house and is open 24 hours. If you go in there overnight, please be aware that there are people who use it as a warm place to smoke stuff.

You read it right. I got nothing against people who need a warm place to spend the night, but I don't need to smell the smoke of what the are lighting up while I just trying to keep my family in clean clothes/towels/bedsheets.

Valeria Contreras rated it 4/5: This place is great 👍🏼 I would recommend going on Wednesday and Friday because they have discounts on those days and they have huge washers and dryers they have up to 100 lb loads and a 50lb dryers. Ive never done laundry so fast in my life but I will continue to come here

Most relevant reviews:

  • C.R. Suarez rated it 5/5: This place is so very clean and the various sized washers and dryers that are designated by weight make this laundromat unique. You can wash a variety of things and know exactly how heavy you can fill the machines. Highly recommend!

  • preston rated it 4/5: So when I first pulled up it has a trashy atmosphere. Homeless on every corner, 2 homeless guys in the dumpster on the back. Another drying clothes on the guard rail behind the buildings examining one of them(I’m thinking he just jacked them from the laundromat idk). It definitely feels like one of those places where if you leave for a bit, your clothes won’t be there when you get back. It’s a little more pricey but hell, I was able to wash a months worth of clothes in one wash, and one dry. Machines are nice. I work construction and it’s obvious when my clothes aren’t clean. First time my clothes have ever been “clean” since coming to Tucson. Machines are nice. I was worried about the having to pay for the card but it was only $.50. Happy I found this place.
  • Todd Freeman rated it 1/5: 20.00 on their user card.
Washer was 7.51 for the 1 load I did.
Dryer got me for 7 bucks too.
    13.65 total for ONE LOAD.
Evidently, you can't cancel the dryers if you have to change to a different dryer.
No refund = non returning customer.

Does have a good selection of different size machines from 20-100lb loads. Seems clean.
Most dryers have a burnt plastic residue on the inside.

  • robert nolan rated it 1/5: CASH IS NO GOOD HERR. .50 charge to get the mandatory plastic card, zero refund on extra money on card, .30 charge in washers If you want warm water and not cold. Forces you too use illegal currency and taxes the daylights out of you. Biggest scam laundromat I've ever seen.

  • Chevy Nimmons rated it 4/5: Cool during daytime, located in a rough neighborhood, take caution after dark..stay alert&aware of your surroundings; as a pretty sketchy/unsavory crowd tends to congregate in this area after dark. Is the cleaner of the two laundry facilities on this block
  • Nepthaly Marquez Perez rated it 1/5: Washers and dryers are good just too many people loitering around from 7pm to 10 pm time can't do laundry in peace without them coming up to you asking for something. Can never find a dryer cause people are washing at home and bringing clothes to dry. Try Deans laundromat down the street, owners always on top of things.

Washers are $1.50, large washers are between $2.50 and $5.50. Dryers are $0.25 for 6 min. Plan on $1.00 to $1.50 to dry a load. On Wednesday, regular size washers are only $1.00.

The attendants are rather rude and condescending.

  • SmartSysta Knows rated it 5/5: Pros: This laundromat is my absolute favorite. It is always clean and well maintained. There is a bathroom as well, which is definitely a plus. The attendant helped me by pointing me towards one of the bigger washers to save. I've been doing my laundry this way ever since. My clothes dry a lot faster and there is no waiting for a washer or dryer. I left my pants there by mistake. I went back the next day and my pants were placed in a bag. I was so happy to know they were still there and the staff didn't throw them out. This is one of many reasons why I gave them five well deserved stars!

Cons: None, the staff will even help you when your coins get stuck!

  • Nonie Cat rated it 5/5: Been coming here for a few weeks now. The attendants are always attentive, and always there to help.
A good example of how great they are- I went to one of the restaurants close by to grab a drink, and the dryer with my blankets fell open. The attendant on duty saw it happen, put my blanket all the way back in the dryer, and even notified me of what happened when she noticed I was with that load.
I appreciate this laundromat so much. Not to mention that it’s in a fairly central location. More than a couple of quick food stops as well! Thank you.
  • Mallory Foltz rated it 5/5: Lots of machines of various sizes, and I didn't lose any money to them (I had about 12 loads going today due to moving). Several machines were out of order, but there were plenty working to get my laundry done, even with several other people using the facility. There were many locations nearby to spend some time, if needed, and the wash and fold service seemed to be functioning well. There were also plenty of places to sit while waiting inside the laundromat.
  • Darlene Smith rated it 4/5: Very friendly staff. The place is clean and if there is any issues they address them immediately. I enjoy doing my laundry here the atmosphe is nice.
  • Jody Michael rated it 3/5: It wasn't bad until what seemed like a regular customer brought his off leash dog in. Clearly ignoring the sign at the door saying no pets. When he started throwing a ball to play catch, I couldn't believe it. The employee didn't care, the guy working on the machines didn't care, but I did.

TODD ANSON rated it 5/5: I love this laundry!!
People who have had bad experiences are bringing the bad experience with them!
Honestly, its a great place to do your laundry at night. I work long, odd hours, so im usually there around 11 pm or 1 am.
Its always been tidy! But thats a subjective term, just like the dumdum that said having to get a service person was "inconvenient".
I bet she never does laundry at the mat, and had a bad day because she broke a nail or something.
Ive been through horrible laundry experiences and great ones like I have here.
Really, look at the pictures!
Read the owners views!!
Its a cared about buisness that really cares about their customers and thats it.
If it was really how these negative nillies put it, there wouldn't be ANY notice and youd go there and be all "buh?".."how many is 5?""Duh, how
Is a soap?"
Nobody is THAT stupid people.
I reported those reviews because they do not help in deciding whether or not this place is good. They are isolated and completely subjective personal experiences based on erroneous conclusions and speculations from some half wits broken life experience, rather than critique based on factual metrics derived from commonplace, and relevent experience.

Im going there now.
Its going to take me about 1&1/2hours to wash and dry 8 loads, costing about 18$.
…..
Knowing that its not going to suck, PRICELESS!

  • Monica Russell rated it 5/5: I love this facility! I came one day only to find out that the chip cards needed to run the machines are no longer being produced due to shortages. I was still able to run my laundry loads for my businesses since the owner had a card. He took me to a cash register to pay my bill when I was finished. I had to come back a day or so later to run 85 lbs of towels & linens. I explained my situation and desperately pleaded for a chip card or alternative solution to run my laundry after 6pm since I'm normally cleaning and attending to other matters during standard business hours. One of the shop workers (owners??) sold me her personal card due to the situation I was in. She was amazing! Of course they probably can't do this for every customer but they really saved me because no way am I running 85+ lbs of laundry with my home washer and dryer! The facilities are very clean and it's not a sketchy place compared to other laundromats around town. I'm so happy I found them & the customer service is killer!
  • Iam BDailey (IamBDailey) rated it 5/5: I just started coming here recently. So far, it’s been only great service. The owner, Brian, is very friendly and helpful. My washes and dry cycles always come out great. If there is ever a problem, someone is always near by to help.
I will be coming back to this location because of the quality clean and friendly staff.

  • Karethra Bex rated it 3/5: This is a clean laundromat, however it's incredibly inconvenient. The machines are card only, however, the laundromat no longer provides the cards (due to manufacturer issues). Thus, the only way to use the machines is during regular business hours of the dry cleaning shop next door as that staff person has to come over to the laundromat and use their pass card to start the washers and dryers. This means continually having to go find the staff person, request their assistance again and then afterwards pay for whatever washers and dryers (and any additional time needed for the dryers). Doubtful that we'll return.
  • Maisha Soto rated it 1/5: The washer machines are small and there is not many. On top of that the big one that was available left nasty lent and someone's dog hair all over my stuff. Thank God I am not allergic, just saying. Then the woman tending to the area was very rude and nosey. She took my clothes out the washer and just piled them up. When I came back to put my clothes in the dryer a man confronted me very rudely about not leaving clothes in the washer. I was so utterly disgusted and disrespected by this encounter I will never do my clothes here again. I came here minding my business trying to wash clothes to end up semi clean stuff and a nasty attitude. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Tv.TV.. radio.. snacks even ice cream.. love this guy and place.. but overcrowded and some people can be rude.. but overall not bad
  • Debbie Drives and Travels rated it 5/5: Prices are a steal for the laundry world. Normally to wash/dry all my camping bedding, heavy coat and misc clothes is 20$. Here 11$. Bam! Eight minutes on the dryer for a quarter. (Somehow I acquired spiders from a campsite. Everything needed to go into the wash.)

  • Sarah C rated it 1/5: Went here because it had the best reviews for a laundromat around me. I just needed to wash a comforter that was too big for my own washer and driving up to this place, I was already confused how this place was rated 4.1 stars. The outside is very old and doesn’t look clean or nice at all. I figured maybe it’d look better on the inside… nope. There’s really no place to sit and wait except for a few old, nasty chairs. The good thing is there wasn’t anyone else there but me..so I didn’t have to wait on any machines. I used the larger front load washer and it was $4.00. The dryer costs $0.25 for 8 minutes. I wouldn’t be comfortable coming to this place at night. It’s in a sketchy, old part of town.
  • Terrah Lynch rated it 1/5: The machines are good, but the way the owner talks to his maintenance men is atrocious. The way he yells at the man working on his roof today was terrible, and at this point I’d rather go to the laundromat on Broadway. At least I’ve never heard those owners throw an absolute fit over something so minuscule.

  • Chelsea rated it 5/5: Everytime I came here it was super clean and not too busy. Nice machines of all sizes including super huge ones which are great for when you've got a large comforter. No card reader for machines so take cash or coins
  • Andie Morgan rated it 5/5: Easy access from I 10. Very important when RVing!!! Clean and BUSY! Plenty of machines from single load to multiple load.
  • Mark Kovachi rated it 3/5: I'm a van life nomad – this is the most expensive laundromat I've ever been. e.g. dryers 25¢ 3 minutes, hot water wash extra,
  • VVASQU_C rated it 1/5: Ridiculously overpriced!! I read a review on here before coming here and the written expression was not enough I had to see it to believe it .. yup sure enough 🙁
Dry time 3 minutes for .25 cent !!
No kidding.. everything is just overpriced !!
  • Kara Grauberger rated it 1/5: When I first started coming here it was not terribly priced. However over the last 6 months their prices have increased to up to $8.75 for a wash. That is a basic, lightly soiled cold water wash. If you want warm water it's $2 extra. If you want hot water it's $3 extra. If you want a more aggressive wash it's gonna be $1 extra. On ALL OF THE MACHINES. The machines only run for about 23 minutes. It's $1 to start the dryer for 6 minutes, and 75 cents for each subsequent 3 minutes. This place is a whole ripoff. Do not wash your laundry here unless it needs to be cleansed in holy water because that's apparently all they run in these machines. I had no choice but to wash some of my laundry here but I'm taking some of my stuff home till I can find a more reasonably priced laundromat.
