I called Groovy Maids to ask where their employee had gone, and they said they would contact her. She claimed that the house was cleaned, but I promise it was not.

I am posting a picture of my bathroom tub for reference.

They ended up charging my card and the management will not call me back. It is hit or miss, but be prepared to be charged either way.

They sent over a young girl named Bethany, she showed up on time, she was extremely helpful and friendly. She made me immediately feel comfortable with her in my home.
She cleaned and disinfected our bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and living room. Very thorough- she got my stove cleaner than I've ever seen it.

The baseboards were hardly cleaned (picture 1 was from my wife wiping them off) and the kitchen floor was still dirty (picture two shows two tiles – one scrubbed with just water and a paper towel). They also didn't clean the inside of the cabinets – apparently I needed to specifically state this even though it's a move out clean – which I find odd since this is the first thing you check when moving into a new place to see if it was cleaned at all.

The staff member took photos to show me how much clean it looked in the areas well above my sight line. Our bathroom has never been cleaner and the house smelled amazing. With two kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats that is quite an accomplishment!

That was not a problem for us because the team was wonderful. Did a remarkable job. In the past month, however, 2 teams were scheduled for our house at the same time. Tried to reach Ashley, the owner, via phone, text, and email.
No response !! 2 weeks later, same scenario. 2 teams showed up !!
Again, tried to reach Ashley or her husband , Mauricio. Same deal – no response
Now, called Ashley’s cell phone, got a “scheduler” in Alabama who told me that my account was archived and nothing was scheduled. ( Expected them tomorrow)
This is clearly a very shady company. I have no idea what illegal activity they are involved in but I intend to steer clear of this company

Buying into it you start to speak with other franchise owners as you go and learn how everyone is treated differently based on their personal relationship status and the type of accounts they get. The GM said he only rewards good behavior but everyone gets some type of complaint from a account and threats because building stars contracts aren’t clear enough at all when they conduct their walk throughs and there’s not clear limits to the clients so they start to add things sometimes as you go. You can’t reward good behavior” when everyone gets complaints but when we all pay the same to buy into the franchise it should no matter what be equally distributed. They gossip about each other and their franchisees

**UPDATE*** THEY SAY ITS NO DISTRIBUTION POLICY BUT THATS EVEN MORE OF A RED FLAG TO BUY INTO A FRANCHISE SAYING THAT. Paying $1,000+ to buy into the franchise to not get offered any new accounts in over a year because “they reward good behavior aka favoritism. Been reaching out to the account manager for a month and she ignores all methods of communication and as a franchisee it’s actually scary knowing that’s who/what you have to depend on when you can’t even get a simple text back. Imagine being in a emergency and not having a account manager to rely on because of her BS reasoning over doing her d*** job. Making up false lies to the GM and other owners being a gossip girl over miscommunication. Terrible business I wish we would’ve known before even buying into such a horrible company. Other franchise owners we met through other businesses are satisfied and don’t have these issues at all. Don’t let the reviews fool you with what type of people your dealing with. Ryan is the corporate person for Pittsburgh and he’s not even in the state and just says to schedule a meeting with the same people your complaining about.. no conflict resolution at all. I’m currently reading through the contract as we speak to figure out our next move with building stars.

Soap dispensers never filled, toilet paper always empty, cob webs in the hallway. Emails and texts to the technician and supervisor are met with excuses or ignored completely. I am already in the process of getting quotes for a new cleaning company as soon as our contract ends! Very frustrated customer!

Makes you feel like your working for them and not yourself! There only about there money they have no interests in helping the cleaners out what so ever! I will not recommend them to anyway also they have a lot of hidden fees and payment they don’t share with you in your meeting so be careful!

I had been using House Spouse in Lawrenceville for about 6 months. I was just never completely happy. The cleaning was just okay (the initial deep cleaning was a joke), and they kept changing my day and time. Was completely disruptive to our lives. And it made me feel like my business wasn't important. Tip: make sure you go with a company that has reviews online!
Finally let them go, and began my search for a new cleaning company. Emailed a few, couldn't believe no one got back to me (is my business important to anyone?). Found MayLav, sent an email, and got a response within 5 minutes! Wow!!
Scheduled an estimate for the next day. Had the estimate emailed to me right away.
They worked with me to find a good day and time.
They just left and I'm amazed! So this is how a house cleaning is supposed to be! They cleaned areas I'd been looking at for months, hoping the other company would get to it. Behind the toilet, for example.
The 3 ladies showed up a few minutes EARLY!! Not used to that at all. Were very professional, and one lady supervised to make sure everything was done correctly and nothing was missed.
They charge per job, not per hour. I like that. I wasn't watching the clock the whole time, wondering if I was going to pay for an hour not worked (House Spouse did this to me constantly).
The price was a bit higher than we expected (Not much, only $20), but you definitely get what you pay for. Totally worth it to me!

Update: 9 months later and they still come bi-weekly. Really wouldn't even consider anyone else. Really great company, trustworthy, caring. I could go on and on. I'm just a single row house but they still make me feel important. Great communication, excellent cleaning job, they are even nice and accommodating to my 19 year old blind cat. Always ask how he's doing, and they gently clean around his bed. He never even wakes up! I never rave about things unless I'm very happy. I'm very happy!!! Thanks May and Lavender

Their cleanings include everything top to bottom. They cleaned my bathroom ceiling and all the molding, baseboards, everything. I was most impressed with the kitchen because our rental does not have a range hood so things get really greasy. They made all that disappear, and I found their pricing a great value for the deep clean you get. I would HIGHLY recommend you gift your roommate/housemate/domestic partner or yourself a cleaning from MayLav.
