19 doors total. Walls & ceilings of 2 main living areas, kitchen, dining room, 2 kids rooms, 4 bathrooms, all hallways. This was a 4 day job!!

Each day the crew was very punctual, respectful, & really took their time to deliver a great final result. They moved all of our furniture, laid down protection for the hard floors, & removed all the decorations from all surfaces to be painted.

The company did a fantastic job (pictured) painting our 50-year-old home's exterior (with original wood siding!) in such a way that it looks brand new.
To start, we received a competitive quote back in June from Ryan H. I indicated we wouldn't be ready to paint until the September/October timeframe, and asked whether that time lag would affect the quote. It did not! Ryan came prepared with informational handouts about the company, the paint they use (Sherwin Williams), and the process for selecting colors and scheduling the project. He also described the experience levels of their various crews and pointed out that they've worked with their crews for years, and only keep the ones that are able to adhere to AMC's high standards. This was definitely the case.

Before getting the project scheduled, we had a hard time making up our minds on our trim and accent colors. During our initial visit, Ryan had indicated that Sherwin Williams offers free online color consultations. We went ahead and scheduled a session with a color consultant, who gave us ideas and sent us placards of the colors we were interested in. Without the color consultant, we might still have an unpainted house as we faced decision paralysis.

After I notified AMC of our color selection, Ryan came out and put eight colors up on our garage in small quantities so we could see how everything looked in the sun and at various times of day. We settled on five colors for the house after about another month of decision paralysis. During these several months, I received NO pressure from AMC to get the project going. They also did not ask for ANY money up front at any point in the project and indicated payment was only due after the project was completed to my satisfaction.

Getting scheduled through the AMC office was very easy, and they were again flexible with my needs. Courtney B was friendly and easy to work with throughout the whole process.

Now for the best part – the actual project. Pablo (crew chief) and Alexis showed up the day before painting was to begin and power-washed the house in preparation. On the day of the project, the crew and Ryan showed up to make sure every paint color was going to go in the right place, and that various damaged elements of our siding would be fixed or replaced.

This is where I believe AMC goes above and beyond – it's a 50-year old house, with lots of legacy damage to it. Woodpecker holes, water damage around the front door frame, a damaged siding board near the rear roof line, and a rotting board near the back door. All of these elements were addressed within the quote, and Pablo and Alexis expertly fixed not only what we specified, but also filled and sanded any gap they could find – between boards, nail holes, where vertical surfaces met horizontal surfaces. We were having the brick and foundation painted the same color, and they took the time to dig out a few inches around the foundation to ensure the paint made it all the down past ground level.

Most of the first day was spent on this extremely detail-oriented prep work, and the final product shows! After the initial power wash visit, it took both crew members only two days (though 10+ hour days, working till dark) to finish, but it's amazing what two motivated guys can do to a house in such a short time! Thanks, Pablo and Alexis!

Payment at the end of the project was easy as well; no convenience surcharge for using credit as long as you go into the office, which is very centrally located in Colorado Springs and wasn't at all inconvenient to get to.

Given that we selected the best Sherwin Williams paint, and AMC expertly applied it, we don't anticipate having to use them again for this house – but if we ever move to a house that needs a paint job, we'd use AMC again in a heartbeat!
Christine Khan rated it 1/5: Please do not use this company for any cabinetry painting. We just won a law suit against them for damages for subpar cabinet painting. They never sanded or cleaned the cabinets prior to painting. They gave us a verbal one year warranty after I told them I knew they did the job portly. Two months later they refused to come fix the peeling paint and blamed us for the damage. The court found them in the wrong! They do fine painting walls but cabinetry should not be in their services. The owner was rude and blamed us for everything their company did wrong. Called me a “hysterical woman” when I complained. Please be aware how they treat their customers.

They were super encouraging the entire time and made the experience loads more fun. AND the art came out better than I could have imagined!

Chris D. gave us our quote to finish painting our newly finished basement, to include the baseboards, doors, and the built in custom bookshelf. I had body damage from a car accident, I went in to get a quote on November 28, and was quoted 7k by a man named Nathaniel, and was told December 23 the work would be completed. I didn’t have collision on my insurance policy so I was self paying for all of the repairs. December 26th the owner of the shop Jeff calls me and says they just did the initial break down on the car, and told me that the price for the repairs is going up to 12k because they didn’t include the air bag repair in the initial estimate and they found some hidden body damage in a wheel well. I asked multiple times why the airbag repairs weren’t included in the initial estimate, and the owner Jeff reports that I brought in an estimate from another company and they were basing there estimate on that. I never brought in a competitors estimate. The airbags were dangling from the side panel when I brought the car in for the estimate, and these repairs were not included in the estimate. I just picked my car up today, it is February 2nd, well over a month after the initial time estimated for the repairs and the 5k additional I was expected to pay out of pocket. I had a very poor experience with MAACO, the owner Jeff and the estimator Nathaniel were very deceptive. Do not recommend this shop.
Update 2/9/23. After a few days driving the car. I realize the passenger seat belt is not functional. So the job was not complete. My car will need to go back to this shop, so it can be repaired correctly.
The reply to my google review from the owner saying to “call the shop to support you in resolving this issue” is a joke. He knows the issue. His ethics are the issue, he has done nothing to make the situation better…like taking ownership for his mistakes that cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket. I never would have used this company if I had known there were going to be so many issues.

Our first visit with Armando at our home to discuss our projects was informative, professional and cordial and we received a detailed proposal the very next day. Come project begin, Jeromie and his team exceeded our expectations. Jeromie is skilled, experienced and a true expert when it comes to technique and materials. And he is a perfectionist, taking pride in his work. After disappointing results in past years using other local painting companies, it is very refreshing to find quality and good value. We will be using TECC in the future and would recommend this firm to anyone.

Asked for a price quote to remove popcorn texture from the ceilings on a 3100 square foot, two level home, built in 1985, that we just purchased. Was given an estimate of $19K to $22K! Absolutely ridiculous! I'm 60 years old and partially disabled and just spent the weekend removing the popcorn from the ceilings myself. The basement had four rooms and took me 8 hours to remove. That's two hours per room. Removed the popcorn from one room on the main level this morning. Took less than two hours. Have three rooms left. I've never removed popcorn texture from a ceiling before and this was straight forward. Warm water, plastic sheets, half-faced respirator, and a shop vac. Absolutely offensive to think someone would charge around $20,000 for a two to three-day job!
In response to the owner's recent comments. $19K to $22K thousand is moronic! You are not being honest. Your employee also quoted an additional $12K to $15K to paint the interior of my home for a total of $27K to $37K!!! Absolutely offensive and unprofessional.

I just reached out to Mr. Handyman and they provided a quote to remove the remaining popcorn texture in half the home for $1500 and an additional $1500 to apply orange peel texture to all ceilings!

Needless to say, I will not be using your company for any services nor will I refer any business in your direction!
Sharon rated it 1/5: Unprofessional! This company painted my neighbors house and splattered paint onto my car parked in my driveway. When told the employees they could have just asked me to move my car, the employees were rude and belligerent. They offered to "wet" the paint that they splattered onto my car but by this point and lengthy duration, the sun had already dried the paint splatter and they were excessively rude. Not sure how using an exterior based paint could be "wetted" (tecc employee words verbatim) to remove dried exterior paint on a cars surface. Not only is it common decency to look out for surrounding area and neighboring vehicles when painting exterior but one would think knowledge of splatterback from a roller would be common sense for painters. Obviously, there is no knowledge base, nor regard for others property or care from this company. I would never use this company due to lack of integrity and lack of painting knowledge.

Michael Mangin rated it 5/5: The paint Doctor came by. We went through expectations and he described their process for a full exterior repaint. He let me know that they go through chalk, sand, and prep the entire surface of the house. They would also cover the driveway, deck, and sidewalk to protect against any drips. Windows would be taped up and so would the front door. They would also come through the day before and power wash everything.
They were more expensive than the competition, but he explained they use a higher durability pai no t as well as included a 12 year transferable warranty.

The ratings were good on the various sites. There were some concerns on Yelp. They sent over their insurance when asked. Didn't require any deposit before starting work and accepted credit cards.

They were able to start in less than a few weeks.

They showed up a day early to power wash and were done I'm maybe an hour and a half. They were very efficient. They were then back the next day and got almost the full house done minus some touchups. They came back the following day and spent about two hours on touch up.

They checked off all the boxes and met all expectations. The prep work was important to me and the color gets compliments from everyone now who visits.

Owen Sampognaro rated it 3/5: I initially decided against leaving a review, because I simply never wanted to deal with these guys again, but after going out to resume a paver project and finding a flipped over paver with paint all over it, I have renewed motivation. So here goes.
Take any timeline with a grain of salt. Some emergency will inevitably always come up, which will prevent them from arriving/finishing on time or responding to a call.

I also would not recommend paying them until the job is 100% done. It took me 2 months, including 2 weeks of threatening to dispute the claim on my credit card to get them to show up. When they finally did show up, it was about an hour before sunset, so only maybe 1/3 of what needed to be done was completed. I was so annoyed, I just finished the work myself.

Additionally, prepare to have random things painted, damage to sidewalk lights/flower beds from the hose being drug around, and a couple hours of cleanup to pick up all of the paper, tape, and cardboard they will leave behind. Even what they did pick up was left in 5 oversized garbage bags that we had to slowly send out with our regular garbage each week.

Overall, the final product of the work was 3 stars, but the hassle of dealing with them was 1 star. Unless they are wildly cheaper than other companies, I wouldn't recommend them.

Carlos has been top rate to work with, his father as well and all the crews, all very professional. They were able to schedule me quickly for the work, masked off the rooms being done (is messy work) but they kept the mess contained and did a great job of clean up at the end. They also painted the newly textured ceilings. It is so nice to have the popcorn gone! They are coming back to do one last area that we have left. Also worked with us breaking the job into a couple different times since we are living in the house during renovations. We had one small problem and Carlos addressed it immediately, you can’t ask for better than that! I would highly recommend and we will use them in the future when we finish our basement!

Connor Norton rated it 5/5: AB Painting did a great job on our garage interior painting. They did a great job skimming and painting the previously uneven/spotty paint job in our decades old garage. They also painted our water heater stand and garage door railings without prompting to make the entire garage look brand new. They also fixed some of the drywall edges where it meets the concrete which will look much nicer when we get our garage floors done. All in all, they spent 2.5 days on the job and did great. We will definitely be contacting AB painting for future projects!
