Marquita A rated it 5/5: We’ve been using Aptive for years at this point. We receive quarterly treatments and if any spiders, centipedes, bugs, rodents, etc are seen inside the home, they come back (at no extra charge!) and treat the interior of the home. We rarely require a return visit. We’re happy with the company and service. Our last service included photos texted to us after the service which was a nice addition!

Most relevant reviews:

  • Theresa Warren rated it 5/5: They alway help me with any pest inside or out. They come any time you need them. Take a picture of your pest and they will assist you on how to be bug free. The same bug has never returned.
  • Elizabeth Baur rated it 5/5: Aptive has helped control our unwanted pests! In addition to quality service, their customer service is great. Each season our home gets treated, a customer care rep reaches out to see if we have any questions or specific areas of concern. Also, every service provider at our home has been very helpful in providing answers to my questions and explaining what they are doing. I also get texts and pictures of the services provided.
I rarely buy things from door salespeople, but when an Aptive sales rep stopped by with a promotion and I had an ant problem, I jumped at the opportunity and I’m so glad I did! It’s been a very positive experience so far.

  • Ping Wang rated it 4/5: effective service for all pests and Chris and Fletcher are so informative and friendly!
The price is high. After the initial high price for the first two years, the maintenance fee is still high. But, the managers are willing to listen and try their best to help and make their clients happy.
So I'm happy and stay with this company and recommend it to people.
  • William Hammonds rated it 3/5: I am still on the fence about the services that Aptive provides. The initial spraying went well and I did see a decrease in bugs for that first month. Then we started getting ants and they were the micro-ants that were typicalky around the kitchen and sometimes in our front doorway.
I will say that the technicians that are usually sent out, so far have been very thorough. They send out email and text reminders before the day of the appointment so that's nice. All in all, I would rate my experience with Aptive a 3 out of 5 🌟 stars.

  • Srae Winds rated it 5/5: I began our services at our rental in another town close by, to our pleasant surprise, our tech relocated with us by chance. He is very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I have had no problems with our services thus far.
  • Nate Reese rated it 3/5: It seemed as if the fellow that did the inspection was trying to avoid helping us with a potential flea problem. We had to insist on having a full spectrum “bomb” of this hoarder house. After convincing him that we suspected the building had possible infestation of fleas, he acquiesced and dealt with the problem.
  • Hunter Pederson rated it 1/5: I had Orkin come out to remove a bat and exclude it from entering again in the future. They were very responsive at the beginning, and completed a through inspection which led into a recommendation. Once we agreed to their services to address the issue though, we ran into issues reaching the local office for updates and questions, and had to go through the central Orkin customer service line. We also had troubles reaching the service team to get an idea on when they’d be out to complete the service. Some of those issues were due to weather, but in any case they had opportunity to communicate with us better. Once the service person did arrive, they were friendly and thorough.

The in-person customer service has been great, but it seems as though they wanted to just sell us their services, and then they made it hard to reach them after that with our questions. Hoping that now that we have their products in place, we can easily reach them should further questions or issues arise.

Edit as of 9/21/22: my review was for 3 stars, but now downgrading to 1. After they installed their products, I noticed they missed one thing that was promised to me. I called them back and was told someone would be out in a few days. Nobody showed up. Not the end of the world as I know everyone is short staffed. What bugs me though is even after calling the branch a few times, along with their central customer service line, I have yet to get in contact with the branch again since that. So much for their promise to make things right…

  • Melissa Daly rated it 1/5: First appointment we wait 2
    Hours and no
One showed. Second one we waited 2 hours, nothing so I called and then they told me he was running late. No heads up whatsoever. Then the man arrived (who was very nice) but smelled like he hadn’t showered in months and we had to air out our house for an hour after he left. I couldn’t even be in the same room as him as he was working.

batbusa rated it 5/5: First off, Loren was wonderful to speak with. She did an amazing job answering all my questions and concerns. I was actually calling to cancel and that is how I started the conversation. Loren was very understanding and wanting to know all the details. Even after hearing the reasons for me wanting to cancel (I had a really good reason too) she offered possible solutions to my direct problem and assured she would take care of me as a customer. She listed out some really good points why I should keep my service for at least one more application. These were truly valid reasons and the way she presented it was nothing less than perfection. Thank you, Loren, for the nice conversation.

  • Brian Scoggin rated it 1/5: The good:
    – The technicians are great.

    The bad:
    – Not effective
    – you can’t get ahold of anyone to address your problems. No messaging service. Call and no answer.
    – they have fake reviews (dishonest???)

If the products don’t work and you can’t get anyone out to address the issues, what are you paying for? We have more spider webs than we’ve ever had, wasp nests, and ants and spiders in the house for the first time ever.

  • Anthony Miller rated it 1/5: Terrible. Guy came and said how many amazing reviews he had being his second day working for the company. He showed up asked what I need done. I’m like…. I’ve been with you for a year you don’t know? So see picture….. guy is working with monster in hand. Real pro…. How about instead of asking for 5 stars you just do a 5 star service. Canceling service now….. get a real company.
  • Ann Rabe rated it 1/5: Don’t let the sweet kid on the doorstep get you to sign up!
    Horrible company!!!
I can not stress enough!!! DO NOT use this company!!!! If I could give zero stars I would! See pictures of remnants of the bug killer! And they wont stop coming! I told them I want to cancel but yet they keep coming and charging me!!!
  • dyomenz rated it 1/5: Horrible company! Do not use them. Their services do not work, they won't let you get out of a contract EVEN THOUGH when you sign up they tell you that you can cancel if their services do not work for your pest issue. They claim they will come back out free of charge after 10 days if you're still having issues and every time I call I get the runaround and promises that they'll have a manager call me back to get an inspector out to our home ASAP, but they never do. I would warn anyone looking for a pest company to NOT use EcoShield!

Maftuna Isoeva rated it 1/5: If I could give this business negative stars I would! Horrible company. The nice smiling kids they send out paint a pretty picture but no delivery. We had bad experience with them once and decided to cancel. The next year they came back promising a whole new experience and better communications and visible results. Don’t see any results. Horrible communication and the supervisor instead of taking accountability that they made a mistake blames the customer for it and hangs up in their face. If you read this, run don’t waste your money on this garbage of a company.

Most relevant reviews:

  • John Krenzke rated it 1/5: Very difficult to work with and intensely aggressive. They basically wouldn't leave us alone during their door-to-door campaign. We kept telling them we weren't interested, and then they would lower the price. It finally got to a point where the price was so low that it actually seemed like a pretty good deal, so we relented. We won't be making that mistake again.
We did not notice a reduction in pests. Other than knocking down hornet nests, I'm not sure they did anything useful, but it's one of those things that's impossible to prove since there's no control group to measure against.
There were a lot of promises made upfront, but they didn't live up to their promises about what they would do at our house and where they would treat. Every time someone showed up at our house for a service, we would ask them to do the inside of the house, which was included in the cost. But every time we asked them to do the inside, the response was always one of surprise – like we were being unreasonable by requesting that. There is also a service guarantee – so they will come out to your house between official services if needed. The first time I requested one of those, they didn't do an interim service call, they just counted that as an early routine visit (so it counted as the next quarter's service).
You can do everything on their website except cancel your service. So I called to cancel our service, and I was told that only a manager could do that. Unfortunately, there were no managers available, so I have been unable to cancel my account so far.
It seems like they have a very slick money-making operation going on here, and most of the time the service people were professional, but that's the nicest thing I can think of to say about them. Dealing with this company is more headache than it's worth, and I would advise others to avoid the company.
They also literally begged us to give them positive reviews to increase their ratings.
  • Jenna Andrews rated it 1/5: If I could give zero stars I would. First of all I'm not sure how they've got such good reviews on here, go check out the Better Business Bureau where they've got 1.5/5 stars. I feel those reviews are more accurate. Pushy salesmen who are not at all clear that it is a one year contract and instead make it sound like a one time service. I cancelled a day or two later and called to let them know I did not want to pay the 106 dollars because I felt completely deceived by the salesmen, and I was told that the print on the contract was in pretty large letters so I couldn't have missed the fact that it was a year long contract. Indicating that I'm dumb or something? The guy had a small iPad and scrolled right to the bottom so I could sign quickly. Also, shouldn't he have verbally told me that during the 40 minutes we talked? (My bad for not taking time to read the entire contract) although they are hoping you don't. Got another call today about paying my bill and the supervisor essentially told me I'm lucky they didn't take the initial discount (140$) away from me when I cancelled my account. So threats now? So all in all, if you have an account with them and you like their services then great, stick with them. If you have any issues with your service or account, GOOD LUCK! They are extremely rude and clearly don't hold their sales people accountable for the way they interact with customer's/potential customers. They are an absolute disgrace of a company.

  • Diane Tinney rated it 1/5: DO. NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. That guy that came to to “Sell” this service to us said that if we weren’t happy for any reason we could cancel and instead of paying the $79 for the initial service we would have to pay $129. Which we did. They are now calling saying we owe another $129. It’t basically our word against theirs. The guy selling it to us told my husband to sign the contact but not to worry if we didn’t like the initial application we could cancel and only pay $129. That they aren’t out to rip anyone off,
The initial application was a guy walking around our house with basically a tiny grass seeder barely spinning and barely spraying anything out. Bees, bugs, moles as bad as they were before. We showed him where some bees and they never left. He appeared scared to spray them.
We asked they to call us several times right after and finally got a call from a very rude person. He didn’t care what the sales person told us. Wouldn’t listen to us almost sarcastic.
The guy selling keep saying give us a chance to WOW you. So we gave them a chance and this is how it turned out.
Nice until you do not agree to the service and then totally rude and unresponsive until they want $.
  • LARRY ANERSON rated it 1/5: Do yourself a big favor and find the next company available other than Joshua‘s. The negative reviews here are spot on, it was our experience as well.

It started with the salesman who considered himself tall & handsome, and looking to please customers in the area (absolutely true!).

We signed the contract and had our first application within a week or so. What we found post first application was large areas skipped (our entire deck @ 14’ across) on the premises of their granular application for spiders. I was told via my phone call on the follow up of that application, that the entire premises is included in the contract not just the dwelling. So they skipped some areas that had large spiderwebs, and or signs of spiders, which is common in our area near a lake.
We waited for the second “follow up” application, and I made sure I was here during the application to go over such items on our property that needed treatment. That gentleman found one of two rodent trap boxes set out next to the house that was never even loaded with bait. It actually frustrated him and verbally told me he could not believe that it was done intentionally like this.

The second application (on the follow up) was done with my inspection as they went along before he left the property, and we did find a half a dozen other areas that they had missed, he followed behind me, showing him those spots and took care of them with his spider mop, and then sprayed it for a future. (Do I really need to “show them” what’s obvious to the eye?)

The second “monthly application” was done when we were not present at home. I received the notification that they were here and did their application. So upon inspecting it when we arrived home, I found a minimum of 12 (mostly large) spiderwebs at 6 foot high or less from grade, which were obviously skipped and never even looked at. Oh, but they still wanted their monthly fee on the contract within days.
The service tech opened up the rodent box to see what the situation was, and found “zero packets” of the poison packs, which is to typically include approximately 8 to 10 envelopes of poison on each of 4 nail posts within the rodent box, completely empty. He was actually angry that the previous Service tech had purposely disregarded refilling that bait box, but left 2 empty mini bags of poison laying in our landscaping rocks as litter.

So, after all of this, we decided to cancel the service as a result of not holding up to their end of the contract and very poor service, or the lack thereof.
All that did was prompt, Joshua‘s pest control to continually, and without any hesitation, send us statements in the mail biweekly for the full amount of the month 2 application (which failed the agreement in contract).

I was determined not to send them a penny because of the lack of the contract agreement rendered.

After approximately three months, my wife, much to my chagrin, sent them the balance that they were asking for constantly. It was the sum of one month service +50% of the first service that the contract stated would be refunded if we terminated the contract.

So Joshua‘s pest control is a company that will time and time again hound you for services rendered, in their opinion. I promise you, it will not matter if they hold up to their end of the contract or not, they will indeed pressure you, over and over again to send the balance of the contract we signed, even though their end of the contract was never anywhere close to held up to.

I’ll end this long review with, Joshua‘s, please don’t even respond to this, I won’t be reading it. Hopefully many out there who are looking for a service will find someone that actually honors the contract 100%, or if their unsatisfied customers find it incomplete at any point, your company offers a certain percentage of refund, depending on the situation.
It’s really all about the dollar to them, not the service! I highly recommend you go elsewhere and do not use Joshua‘s pest control.

Michael Thompson rated it 5/5: After trapping my 7th mouse I decided that things were out of my control. I have used Decon in the past but with dogs I was leary of using it now. On a neighbor's recommendation I called Orkin and they failed to show or even call to let me know they were running late. In the meantime I learned that two neighbors were using Rove and extremely happy. I now thank the Lord that Orkin didn't show. I couldn't be happier with Cory and your service. I made the appointment thru Jesse at the office and that conversation was so helpful. Then when Cory showed up yesterday and did a complete inspection and answered every one of my questions and was just so professional and polite it has put our minds at complete ease. I am so happy to be a Rove customer and will recommend you to everyone I know. Thanks so much.

  • Grant Armour rated it 5/5: We have not yet had Rove do a treatment, but the thoroughness they have used in the assessment process has made me certain we will being going with them. Sam came out and did an onsite assessment of a neighbor's house that has been having ongoing flea issues for years, with half a dozen other exterminators out to work on this problem. Sam was the first to identify that (1) there are spring tales as well as fleas, (2) check for bed bugs, and (3) identify the root of the issue was the attic which has evidence of rodent history. Sam did not try to convince us to go with the (significantly more expensive) heat treatment but to manage this issue first and then go with their chemical plan. It amazes me it has taken so many contractors to get to the root cause of this issue and I am grateful for the thoroughness so we can get my neighbor's house healthy for him again. Sam also explained to me the process of treatments in a way none of the other half dozen exterminators have. If this level of customer service continues and the toughness of treatment matches the assessment, I am confident we have found our best match for this tough problem.
  • Kayte Knutson rated it 5/5: I had a great experience with Rove! I called after a mouse issue, and they were able to come and inspect fairly quickly. My issue required a return visit, and that was very easy for me as I didn't have to do anything! Sue and Ben were great, professional and answered my numerous questions. I will definitely call Rove in the future if needed, and recommend to anyone needing pest control help.
  • Kari Mannin rated it 5/5: Daniel Jauregui did an awesome job for us. The best technician we’ve had. Very thorough and knowledgeable. He took the time to take care of all the needs we requested. Very pleased with Daniel!
  • Mary Guy rated it 5/5: I can’t tell you how thrilled I am with yesterdays visit from my Rove technician Sue. He took so much time and explained everything so thoroughly. I was able to follow up on his suggestions with my handyman and I feel confident there will be no more mice in my basement. Bad news for my cat no more free toys!
  • Michael Thompson rated it 5/5: After trapping my 7th mouse I decided that things were out of my control.

I had an ant problem in the house, and he was very knowledgeable about what type of ant it was and the damage that the ants could do inside the walls of my house. The ants are gone, and I’ve had a few other insect problems since then that they have handled promptly. I am happy with them and would recommend their company and employees.

  • Celeste Yanisch rated it 5/5: Mr. Inez was our technician and I was pleasantly surprised at how kind and sociable he is. He described what he found and how he treated it. He was very personable and I trusted his expertise. It cannot be fun to truck around house foundations in a foot of snow.
  • Matthew Lerch rated it 5/5: My contact Sherry Suess from Rove is great! She knows exactly what you need if you have any pests in your house and how to get rid of them. The process of getting the service technician out to our house was easy and they were on time. The whole service only took about 15min to spray the entire inside and outside of the house. The product is safe for family and pets.

I didn’t get the name of the person on the phone when I scheduled, but she was awesome too – she explained everything clearly and was nice to chat with.
They were able to come out within the week too!
    Definitely recommend

Mrs. Tricia Ross rated it 1/5: They came to our house doing door to door sales. They were running a special and we HATE spiders and were promised they would be gone after one treatment and they would come quarterly to respray and if we had a flare up in between that they would be back within 48 hours to retreat. They are quite expensive – $350 right away then like $50 a month but the special was $100 that day and then $50 a month- deal! sign us up! Sales guy was super nice explained everything and we set up the 1st appt. They gave a window of 10-12 arrival. By 1pm my husband was calling wondering where they were cause no one had called us to let us know what was going on.. The tech was at the home before ours and was running behind. An hour later she showed up. She never came inside to spray- she didn't remove the cobwebs outside and in the garage that we were promised and she was done in under 30 mins.. not sure how when she was at the other home for over an hour.

things got worse so we called for a retreatment. Guy told us it would be a week wait- not 48 hours like we were promised- but he would have someone call us and move us up- i work from home- not a huge deal but a lil annoying- On Monday i get a call saying they can move us to Thursday- one day sooner- i was like are you sure? I dont mind waiting until Friday – she said no they wanted to get out asap- Thursday no one shows up- they call to r/s- after waiting on hold for 8 mins i hung up- they called back and said they would be here the following Monday. Fast-forward to Monday. I get a call at 11am (they never gave a time that someone would be here) saying they needed to RESCHEDULE US AGAIN. I said no, my husband will be calling you to cancel your service and i hung up. They did refund the $100 though so at least there was that. I do NOT recommend them even a little bit.

  • Elizabeth Gunderson rated it 2/5: Personally I haven’t been impressed with Greenix. While their customer service has been good and their sales reps very nice, I had to sign with them for a full year and about a month after my first treatment there were already spider webs all over the exterior of my house. I most likely won’t be re-signing with them.
  • Tina rated it 1/5: I originally signed up with them to take care of a mice problem. I paid for the full year service in full. I set up the appointment and the day they were supposed to come out they sent me an email canceling the appointment and rescheduling. I needed somebody to come out right away. I called and canceled the service to get my full refund. They only refunded me a partial refund. I have called three times to get my full refund with no success. I would not recommend the service because it’s all 800 numbers and you sit on hold forever. Worst customer service still trying to get my money back. I would recommend going with a local company that doesn’t have an 800 number and doesn’t send you emails to cancel instead of phone calls to reschedule. And if you ever want any money back good luck getting it.

  • Yusuf Ahmed rated it 1/5: I am so upset with their service they are good on talk but practically Zero I spent large amount of money on them but they came ones. I finally terminated my account and our agreement for early termination was $200.00 but they charged me $267.00 so I don’t call this a business company this is Scammers so my dear American learn a lesson from me and stay away from this company. You rather buy your own pet control treatment from Home Depot or Menards and help yourself.
  • Concert on the Lake Thibault rated it 1/5: Horrible service. We should never have switched from current provider. They did not clean the cobwebs as promised. Sliders and cobwebs worse after switching to them. I am not happy my wife feel for the slick sales pitch from the college kid. Every time we had them out for a callback they acted surprised how bad it was and then sprayed it some more. Zero improvement. I cancelled my service. Neighbor who signed up has same problem.

Tyler Gilbert rated it 1/5: Very poor experience. Scheduled a whole house treatment of our older home to prevent bugs from coming inside as fall came. Scheduling was easy, and the technician came out at the right time.

They didn’t do most of the items advertised as part of the treatment package. Technician walked around the house and sprayed repellent in a few areas my wife pointed out, but otherwise didn’t do any investigation of problem areas. They didn’t do any of the removal/sweeping on the exterior either. Technician was on-site less than 10 minutes, and all we got was a few areas sprayed. Could have done that ourselves.

The real problem occurred when we complained and tried to set up a follow up appointment (which is included in the original price if you see a bug). The manager “Tony” told my wife he would come out (similar to other reviews…) to personally treat the house since we were unsatisfied. He didn’t show up, and didn’t notify us at all.

We have continued to follow up with them to get a second treatment since we still have bugs around, but these guys are hopeless. Use someone else, or DIY it!

  • Lauren Naomi rated it 5/5: Very satisfied with the results of my service. Just moved into a new house that had a very robust spider population. My service technician was very helpful and honest about setting expectations, communicating concerns, and education for next steps.
I have gone from killing 5+ spiders a day to just one or two a month.
I have really enjoyed my experience with Terminix.
  • bailey strobel rated it 1/5: I don’t often leave reviews but this was a bizarre experience. I call and book an appointment with a super friendly woman. I called and was able to get in on a 10-2 time frame for Wednesday. The next day, I get a call from a man who was trying to book my appointment. I stated I had an appointment but it sounded like maybe the appointment wasn’t for someone to come out? Still didn’t make sense as the follow up call was on Tuesday. I asked if the original time frame for Wednesday was still available as I took off of work and coordinated with a roommate this time frame. I get an apologetic call at 1:45, literally 15 minutes before the deadline of them being at my house that they need to reschedule for a different day. I understand things run late but why not contact me earlier? I wouldn’t have been upset if I was told at even 1pm. I waited around all day and they want me to take another day off beyond what will need to be taken off in the future to address the problem? The whole thing felt unprofessional and I decided to go with a different company.
  • Genia Steele rated it 1/5: Monday, the appointment was made. Tuesday evening, got a phone call from a female confirming a Wednesday appointment for between 8-noon. I took the day off. It was also my birthday. By noon no one had shown up; not a text or phone call. 12:55pm, Steven the manager was going to come out and do the appointment himself. By 7pm, no one came out and no one was answering the phone. Thursday morning a TEXT (NOT a PHONE CALL showing the respect of an adult running a business) was received. I quote (with lack of proper punctuation included): "Hello this is Steve Palmer Branch Manager of the Minneapolis Terminix. I'm reaching out to you regarding your recent interests in setting up an inspection for your pest issues. Unfortunately, due to our staffing issues, we will not be able to perform this inspection or service. We apologize for this inconvenience." DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS IN MINNEAPOLIS – BRANCH #2310

    Good day.

  • Sydney Redepenning rated it 1/5: Every single negative review about this being a complete scam is 100% true. The first time we had the technician come, he took a look around for no more than 5 minutes and left, saying we "didn't have a problem" without even really looking. This definitely was NOT true, so we called them back a week and a half later to ask them to come again (a follow up within 30 days was included in the cost). They scheduled one, but we were skeptical because of the negative reviews, so we called the day before to confirm the appointment. Customer service said the appointment was confirmed, but then the guy never showed up. We called him, he said he wasn't coming because he didn't think we had a problem. Even though the whole point of the follow up was that he was supposed to come check again because he didn't find the issue the first time, and the issue is definitely real. And he didn't bother calling to cancel the appointment, he literally just didn't show up, and we didn't know until we called him over an hour after he was supposed to get there. So now we're just out $150 for absolutely nothing. Currently waiting to see if the branch manager will give us a refund, but based on these other reviews, I am not too confident.
