Mike Wacker rated it 2/5: Expensive!!! First the good: I really appreciated the prompt response and professionalism of the master plumber who came to my home to repair a busted pipe. I'd highly recommend him as a person and the work he did.

Now my objection: He said the work was complicated and gave me a bid for replacing the broken pipe at $1200. I accepted the bid since I would have no water in the house until it was fixed and it was already the afternoon. In the end, it took him an hour and 15 minutes to do the job. I was shocked that the cost could be so high for a little more than an hour's work. He said the cost of the job is standard pricing and is not set on the amount of time it took. It would have cost the same if it took him 4 hours instead of 1. He said that any job that involves copper stars at $800. Wow. I wish that I'd been willing to go a night without water and call someone else to do the job. To be clear, I really liked the plumber. Great guy. But I think Roto-rooter's prices are too high if their master plumbers are bringing in $1000/hour.

Even pointed out somethings that the previous toilet installer missed doing.
    Had all the right gear.
Very efficient in getting the job done.
    Would highly recommend!!!
Oh and the gentleman who answered my call was pretty nice, too.
  • Brenda EB rated it 5/5: Jeffrey arrived quickly, exactly when I was told he would, he wore a mask while he was here, and he diagnosed my floor drain clog accurately. He was very skilled! Everything about the service went smoothly-Jeffrey provided a price quote and cleared the drain within about 30 minutes! He was professional and he cleaned up afterwards. I am completely satisfied with his work! He also provided me with a coupon upon request! I honestly have not had a better experience with a technician previously! Before he left, he gave me helpful advice and directions on how to maintain my drain lines in the future. In all honesty, in the unfortunate event that my main drain becomes clogged in the future, I will absolutely call them again, and I will be recommending them to my friends, relatives and neighbors!
  • chasing_highs rated it 5/5: Amazing service. I was able to schedule online and got a text before they showed up. My service tech was very friendly and listen to my issues. We discussed the cost upfront before stating the work. I let him do his thing and before you know it he was as done and testing to make sure it drains. The sound of water rushing down the drain never never made me happier. I was super pleased with the service and how helpful the service tech was. I’ve used them in the past and will continue to use as I have not had a bad experience yet.

  • Killian Bixby rated it 1/5: This place gets 1 star for the absolute abomination of an estimate. The job was to connect the already installed garbage disposal to the reaming plumbing after I installed a new sink. The plumber looked under the sink for 30 secs and came up with cost of $731 for labor and parts will be extra so it will come out to about $800 total. The plumber was confused that I thought the price was to high and mentioned it would take him 2 hours to finish the job and he was giving me a $25 discount for having the garbage disposal already installed. So if you're comfortable paying $365.50 an hour Rooter Router is the place for you, but in my case I sent him packing and reluctantly payed the $69 estimate fee.

Here is a photo of the job I needed done. I'm pretty sure any plumber would find this to be one of the easiest jobs they have ever had to do, and the only way to justify an $800 price tag is if the new pipes were lined with gold.

CAROL Marcio rated it 5/5: Jeff and Steve came to my home to repair the outside faucet. They were super friendly and professional. They did a wonderful job and asked if there was anything else I needed help with. I had a leaky valve by the toilet so I showed them and asked if they could repair that. They fixed it up beautifully! They kept their work area clean, and were wonderful to work with! I would recommend then to anyone🙂.

  • Carrie rated it 5/5: We had both of our toilets plug up on a Saturday (of course). I called Mr Rooter and they sent a guy out that afternoon. They were very professional and informative about our options. We went the least expensive route and the next day our toilets were moving slow again. I called them back and they were able to send us another technician the next day. Again, this technician took the time to go over all of our options and again we choose the least expensive option. Lucky for us, this time it was successful and our toilets are still flowing freely. I was very impressed with how quickly they were able to send help and both guys were friendly, polite, informative and non-judgmental. I never felt pressed to spend more money. I don't have anything negative to review for Mr Rooter!
  • Lori Wong rated it 5/5: We worked with Derek and Craig and they were fantastic! We had Mr Rooter disconnect our old sink and reconnect to the new sink to the drain and garbage disposal. They are really friendly and very professional. Definite recommendation to those looking for plumbing services.
  • Laura Holmberg rated it 5/5: We'd been having a few issues with our toilet over the last few months. Called up Mr. Rooter and the were able to send out Service Professional Patrick W. same day! It was a wonderful surprise to have the turn around be so quick. Patrick was able to determine the cause of our issues, went over our options AND get the full replacement done in one day! Patrick was very professional, and kind. He also answered all my questions and helped me understand in my 'non plumber' mind. 🙂
Mr. Rooter/Patrick – you have a life long customer at our household.
Thanks again for being so great! We'll be sure to tell all of our friends and family to give you a call!

  • Cary Percy rated it 5/5: I actually called Mr. Rooter for a gas line hookup for my new dryer, after Home Depot delivered the dryer on Monday but their install crew was not available for a week. Instead, Mr. Rooter sent Derek over at 8 am the next morning, and within 20 minutes we had a bid to install our dryer and bring the gas line and vent up to code. He also inspected the rest of our plumbing and was surprised our water heater was >20 years old- gave us a very competitive bid for a larger, newer water heater. Derek was very knowledgeable and professional and even took the time to walk me through the pros and cons of a tank vs. tankless water heater. We agreed to the bid and they fit in all the work today! I could hardly tell Derek was here working, he was quiet and cleaned the whole area when complete. I will definitely be calling Mr. Rooter for my next plumbing jobs- I have some small jobs I’ve been putting off but feel comfortable getting bids for these now!

Chrissy Tauber rated it 5/5: I made of the HUGE mistake of dumping a big batch of chicken soup down my garbage disposal on a Saturday afternoon. As soon I I did this I knew there was a problem. I tried to handle the clog myself, but could get the snake that I had deep enough, so knew it was time to call in the professionals. I search the Internet for a plumbing company who could come out and take care of the issue over the weekend without ASTRONOMICAL emergency fees. This is when I found Discount Plumbers. They advertised clearing the drain for $94 as well as a $75 service charge. I was a little apprehensive on what the additional fine print might be, but thought I’d give them a call. I reached out at 9:30 on a Saturday night and received a call on Sunday morning from William that he had one more appointment available for Sunday afternoon. I confirmed the cost and booked the appointment. Unfortunately, I received a call around 12:30 stating that they had an emergency come up and kindly asked if they could reschedule for Monday morning. I told them I understand emergencies and that wouldn’t be a problem.
Monday morning I received a call from Sage stating that he would be here by 8:20. He was right on time. We review the issue with the clogged drain and reviewed the pricing. He did indicate that if it took longer than an hour, he would need to charge an hourly rate of around $90 (can’t remember the exact amount). Sage did state that it should only take him about 45 minutes.
Off he went to take care of the mistake I will never make again. 30-35 minutes later he was done snaking the clog, put the plumbing back together and the water was draining perfectly!
Sage was very professional, bright and super friendly!
I would recommend Discount Plumbing to anyone! They were FANTASTIC to work with!

An hour after he arrived, the drain was clear and we were good to go. This is the second time I've used Discount Plumbers for this service and they have been consistently great about it. I will definitely reach out to them even I'm ready for a more permanent solution to our drain roots problem.

  • Damon Sterzinger rated it 4/5: Good service. My service tech was very nice and professional. Let me know what was going on during the procedure and easy to talk to. Only problem I have is that is a bit of a bait and switch. Says $94 per drain but there was a $75 fee for something. Didn’t argue just wanted it done so was $169. They were here within 2 hrs of initial phone call and was happy enough not to inquire about the fee. The service tech was very pleasant and no point in ruining someone’s day for something they can’t control so I let it go. Overall satisfied.
  • Katie Gundle rated it 2/5: Overall, felt like a bait and switch with the $94 drain clearing “deal” add a $75 service fee and extra $94 per hour past the first hour. They took 4 hours and we thought they had fixed the problem. We did major cleaning once the tech left because we didn’t want to be charged the hourly rate and sewage had sprayed and leaked everywhere. Not only are we backed up again 30 days later, but it is coming through the sewage clear out pipe that was “sealed”. Now we are leaking sewage there, and it’s coming up all the drains. Called to see if there is a “guarantee” of any work done considering this was never an issue in the 8 months we lived here and now it’s happened twice. Was told no, and the technician said he believed it was caused by grease because his line spun so fast it snapped. He repaired the line and kept going. He was a nice guy and called superiors for help when he was stumped. I called discount plumber back and they said his report said it was a possible root problem. That is hard for me to believe as I asked the tech 3+ times and not once did he suggest roots may be the issue. Included photos of the mess we were left to clean and bleach. Two stars only due to the kindness of the tech.
  • James Petersen rated it 1/5: Had a drain clog that could not be accessed to run clean-out. 4 feet of metal pipe was removed and replaced with pvc pipe with clean-out. Line was then cleared. In addition to the base charge of $169 for drain clear and 50 feet clean-out, the placement of 4 feet of pvc with clean-out access cost an additional $300, for a total of $469. A non-discount plumbing company has stated this should not have been in excess of $250. Total job was accomplished within one hour, on-site.

Response from owner indicates can't compete with unlicensed handyman or small plumbing companies. The lower amount indicated was from very reputable plumbing company which I should have used and will use next time I have a need. Picture added.

He offered some additional maintenance items to help keep the life of our unit running as long as possible but did not pressure me into addressing them now. I thought the overall price was reasonable for the work that was completed. Overall, very satisfied and will use Blue Yeti services again for future HVAC or plumbing needs. Thank you!

Clare O'Neill rated it 1/5: We hired Soderlin Plumbing for our upstairs bathroom leak and repair. Our experience consisted of incompetent work, leaks, and attempting to bill us (twice) for work that was part of the original contract

• Our new tub wasn’t properly vented upon installation.

• Upon removal of the old vanity the sink drain needed to be relocated. We had plumber Ken return to do. We created an access through the main floor living room ceiling to re-route the drain and join it up with another upstairs bathroom drainpipe. (Since this wasn’t included in the original bid, we paid extra for this work.)

• When scheduling the inspector, Ken told us to not let the inspector look at the tub drain (since it was a replacement there was no inspection needed on this work). He said it was done ‘correctly’ but keep the inspector looking at the sink drain and not the tub.

• The inspector flagged the tub drain.

• Ken returned to fix the issue and presented us with a $1,200 bill to fix what he didn’t do right.

• My husband and I patched our living room ceiling and applied a labor-intensive Italian Carerra finish.

• Soon afterward the living room ceiling began leaking at the joint where the 2 drains came together.

• We fired Ken and had another plumber from Soderlin come out. Three holes were opened in the newly finished ceiling and was determined the ring around the joint wasn’t tight enough.

• Immediately the blame game started saying it was the contractor (who did the ceiling) that caused the joint to leak.

• My husband and I did the work and didn’t shove a 2×4 (that ran the length of the ceiling) under the pipe. The 2×4 in question had been there for years.

• Jason in management insisted someone else caused the issue and refused to come and look at the 2×4 that was removed. He stood by his plumber Ken (who was the one who did a shoddy job on the tub ventilation and told us to not let an inspector look in that direction.)

• We put this debate on the back burner and asked Jeff to come and finish our bathroom. The toilet, sink, and fixtures needed to be installed (the price of the toilet and installing the sink and fixtures was all included in the original bid.)

• When Jeff put the fixtures on the tub and tested it, there was water on our living room floor. He had put an O-ring on incorrectly.

• Jeff insisted we needed to pay $1139 for a new toilet and installation. He refused to look at the original paperwork showing the toilet and installation of sink and fixtures was included.

• Jeff wouldn’t leave our property without a credit card number to pay a bill we didn’t owe.

  • Anna Scheid rated it 5/5: The folks are Soderlin are amazing. Joel came out to check out a leak and some water pressure issues that we were having. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, laid out several options for fixes (long term vs. short term, variety of price ranges). We chose our fix and got on the schedule quickly. Joel came back and got the job done quickly and neatly. He walked us through all of the fixes and made sure everything was functioning before he left. Highly recommend this company and will be using again!
  • Joe Roueche Jr rated it 5/5: If you are looking for ANY kind of plumbing work – save yourself a TON of grief, eliminate any guesswork and JUST CALL SODERLIN PLUMBING!

Soderlin is the ONLY company I ever use and that's over 15 years total.

JEFF JOHNSON from Soderlin came out and installed an additional exterior water faucet to my home AND ran a new gas line for my outdoor gas grill. "Ian" – an apprentice – did a masterful job assisting Jeff.

Absolutely ( and no surprise to me) was an excellent, professional job on both projects and the finished work (outdoor appearance of the house) looks fantastic too.

GUARANTEE: You call Soderlin for any and all of the services they provide and YOU will be SO GLAD you did.

Save yourself time and grief…CALL SODERLIN!

  • Robert Schwartz rated it 5/5: Soderlin's Jeff Johnson and Ian were awesome installing our new boiler. Their new piping is a work of art! They came early and cleaned up after themselves. Very professional. On top of that, Soderlin had the most competitive bid. Highly recommended.
  • David Quinn rated it 5/5: Had a crack in our main drain pipe, and Soderlin was able to get there the fastest, and gave a helpful estimate with all the options for what could get fixed and replaced. They were on time to do the work and we're very easy to work with.

Bailey Stottrup rated it 5/5: I sought out Erik Nelson Plumbing through recommendation of a friend after getting price gouged from other plumbers with past projects. Never going to another plumbing company again after my positive experience today! Nick was great and cleared my kitchen sink drain quickly and efficiently. Pricing was fair. Highly recommend 🙂

  • Irene Porter rated it 5/5: We contacted Erik Neslon Plumbing with what we thought would be a small repair. With their knowledge of older homes and plumbing systems it was quickly realized that the repair would be more involved. We were impressed with the creative solutions to repair and replace damaged parts of our antiquated plumbing system. As friendly as Adam and Simon are, while we don't anticipate needing to call a plumber again anytime soon, if we did we would certainly call these guys right away.
  • Greta Gaard rated it 5/5: Last Thursday evening, I saw black mold and water bubbles on the dining room ceiling! Looking for a Longfellow-local plumber, I found ENP. They picked right away, and John came out early this week, located the source of the leak, and cleaned up the mess. He was personable, professional, and considerate. Two days later, he returned with a coworker to replace the burst lead pipes and remove the old toilet, replacing it with a low-flow toilet that was better seated in the bathroom. The dining room floor and bathroom are now cleaner than they've ever been, and I have names for two different contractors who can sheet-rock the ceiling. The final price was lower than I expected, too. Wow! Happy? YOU BET!
  • Peter Aldrich rated it 5/5: I called for a gas line repair and they came within the hour and completed the work very quickly. They bill time and materials, but the estimate was exactly what I ended up paying. The crew was professional, clearly explained the work that was done, and answered all my questions. Highly recommend!
  • Evan Engesether rated it 5/5: The good folks at ENP have been amazing to work with. We found them simply by word of mouth and then looked at the reviews. We were sold. We are owner operators of a s mpls duplex built in 1957 with all original plumbing. Interestingly enough, we have never used anyone else, nor have we called anyone else ever. This means we have never felt the need to shop it out for pricing.

As a salesperson myself, I know that people buy from people that come through for them. Also, they buy from people they like. We will only ever use ENP for our plumbing needs. Each job we have had them do has been professionally done and they come over with a great attitude. I have also personally met Erik as he came to help shovel out one of their vans after the big snow recently. All of this completely reinforces my satisfaction and excellent customer experience. It is a family run business that does excellent work at a great price. What more could you need? What’s that? Guaranteed work? There is a 1 year warranty on the work that they do.

Jim eb2jim rated it 5/5: Update – Just used Athena Care again for a blown irrigation shut off valve. This had been a hard problem to figure out what had caused the issue to begin with and Paul tracked it down to a valve inside the house. He is always professional, quick, and uses high quality parts. Old review: I have been using Athena Care for twenty years. Paul is a plumber who knows his trade and gets the job done right. He also will give solid advice and share solutions that don’t require his home visit if that is an option. I recommend him highly.

  • Paul Andress rated it 5/5: Paul was new to us when he came to fix a burst pipe in our basement. He came highly recommended on Next Door. He was terrific! Not only did he fix the problem, he also worked with us on preventing the issue from happening again. He installed an outdoor spigot that was far superior to the one we had. He offered to replace it with the same one or do the upgrade – our choice. We chose the slightly more option and it works so much better. We are very grateful to Paul for his professional work, his can-do spirit, and his advice. We will definitely contact him when we have another issue.
  • Matt Chybowski rated it 5/5: Paul was very knowledgeable and upfront through our multiple plumbing issues. He rearranged his schedule in order to get our new water heater installed within 36 hours of contacting him and everything went smoothly. He also offered advise and even fixed our running toilet (free of charge) when he noticed it was running. He goes above and beyond expectations to explain his approach has tons of good information available on his website. I will continue to use and recommend Paul to friends & neighbors for any plumbing services!
  • mark mcdonald rated it 5/5: During the cold snap, our shower would not drain and I tried everything to fix it (snake, plunger, all the tools I had). I called Paul who I'm sure was extremely busy with other problems. Paul communicated very well when he would be by, was extremely professional, straight forward, and had amazing rates. You can tell that he takes pride in his work and tries to make a difference for people. I highly recommend Paul for any plumbing services, he is and will continue to be our go to plumber for any plumbing issues.

He pays attention and is absolutely concerned with what's best, and provides the most value, for his customer long-term. You immediately know you can trust Paul with your home, as he is personable and obviously completely honest and hard-working. • Rita Apaloo rated it 5/5: Had a large company come out to assess my plumbing problem and after paying a call fee and one hour's worth of services, I was told that I had a much bigger issue, including breaking up the concrete floor in the basement that would cost thousands of dollars and take days to resolve. I opted to get a second opinion. Sabastian & Sons came out and after a few minutes of assessment, provided a different prognosis. The problem was fixed and my plumbing works great. They saved me thousands of dollars and a lot of stress. Next time, they will be my first call for sure!
  • hermon rated it 5/5: We hired Sabastian and Sons Plumbing to help us build our basement bathroom. They did all the plumbing work for the bathroom and we loved their work so much that we hired them to do more plumbing related work around the house. The basement bathroom as well as the other work they did all needed permit from the city and everything passed the city inspections without any issue! We highly recommend them and have told all our family and friends about their work! They are professional, knowledgeable and reliable!
  • Karissa Michelle rated it 5/5: Fixed a leak and cleared the drain out. Came and fixed right away after leak started. Super nice guy!
  • Hung Trinh rated it 1/5: I just hired one guy. He was so really super bad he did not do anything even though he did not know what the problem was. I called him to fix my water leaking in the sink but he said he must “do everything properly” he did not do anything just tell us to do it or go to the store to buy stuff to replace the new one. What ??I called him to fix it and he told us to do it after fews checks. He charged us 79$ for what I don’t know. He did not even say the solution for the problem was just charged money and go, so bad services.
