They also installed all necessary water lines and vents along with several smaller but necessary details. This was a very large job that gave me an opportunity to watch the various professionals, who were responsible for different aspects of the work. Every single person always acted in a professional manner from the moment they entered my property to the moment they left. Polite, clean, hardworking, few breaks, no cigarettes or foul language. After a full week of these guys in and out of my home, I have absolutely no complaint. I was so impressed with the respectable talented staff of employees, I would recommend this company, hands down, every time. Thank you, Evan, who oversaw the entire project. Evan never made me feel ignorant for my plethora of questions and explanations. Evan recognized my desire to know each employee who entered my home, and made effort to introduce or give me heads up on who was coming in and what they would be doing. D&F scheduled us fast, but then I ended up having an over lapping appointment with the time they were supposed to come, Duncan was amazing and took care of me and re-worked the schedule to make it one of the first appointments of the day even though they were really slammed. Timing was perfect they send a message to give you heads up that they are on the way which is about 30 minutes give or take which was perfect as I had to also drive to the location. Loren the technician was very personable and knowledgeable and gave us many tips and ideas to help our issue. Will most definitely recommend and be using D&F plumbing for any future needs.
Richard Foat rated it 3/5: Chris, our plumber, was awesome. He was friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. He did our job with no issue whatsoever (about 25 minutes), reviewed his work with me, and gave me guidance on some related questions. We were totally happy with Chris.
I did, however, have a problem with the pricing structure of the company. Initially Chris plugged the details of my job into his system and it spit out a price of over $1200 to replace a temp control handle and a cartridge, both provided by us – that’s obviously an astronomical price for what we were asking to have done. Chris explained that they are a flat rate company, so they don’t charge by the hour like most. Ultimately he was able to make a phone call, and whoever he talked to allowed him to come down to about a third of the price as initially quoted.

Would I hire D and F again? Maybe for a bigger job – they definitely seem to know what they’re doing from a plumbing standpoint. But for a simple fix, the flat rate pricing model felt almost predatory to me, given that I had to pay $120 just to get them to come out (the $120 then is applied to the price of the work when the work is approved). It would have been a shame to pay $120 just to say “no thanks” to a crazy price, and I definitely would have had a horrible taste in my mouth if I paid $1200 dollars for what turned out to be 25 minutes of actual working time using parts that I provided. As it stands I only have a slightly yucky taste in my mouth for the hoops we had to jump through to get the price to a somewhat reasonable place. That’s a crummy position to put your plumber in my view…

So, save the small stuff for someone else and maybe hire D and F for the bigger jobs when the flat fee model might make more sense…
Peter Banka rated it 1/5: Hey, would you like to spend $1,800 on having a plumber work for one hour to replace a sink and two valves? Then D&F Plumbing is for you.
Like a lot of people, we were in a bind after the big freeze we had in late December 2022, and after we turned the water back on — our kitchen sink had clogged hot and cold taps.

We had Randy from D&F come out to look at it, and they got us in quicker than any other plumber we called. After assessing the situation for about thirty minutes and discussing with me all the options, he recommended replacing the fixture and the valves. The fixture was something that I could pick up at Ace for $90. The valves were about $10 each. After about forty minutes, he had the work done. He explained everything in great detail and was very kind, helpful and professional.

Most plumbers in this town that I've called charge around $120 an hour (plus parts). If he'd have charged twice that — even three times that — I'd gladly give D&F 5 stars. But this was TEN TIMES what anyone might expect to pay for this kind of thing. Do not call these people. They will take advantage of you. Use them only as a last resort, and maybe not even then.

Kristen Conwell rated it 5/5: From the estimator Charles, through the subs who drilled through our hillside, to Landon, the owner, Service Plus plumbing did a thorough, professional, cheerful, and careful replacement of our leaking main water line to the house. Everyone seemed to like their work, take challenges in stride, and were good about explaining what was to be done.
Their work involved two outdoor holes in the yard to drill under the ground and monitor crossing utilities, and one through concrete in a work room attached to the house. In each case the excavated material was put in sacks or on tarps so that when they replaced these materials it was hard to see that any work had been done in that area: really remarkable! The job took a little longer than they expected but there was no change in the price we paid from the estimate.
We got three estimates to start with and we picked the middle bid from Service Plus because of their superior ratings and because the estimator emphasized how thorough and careful the owner is that the work be done right. We now have no leaking water on our hillside and beautiful looking new pipe in our house to the main water line. The total cost was $7,500.

I have a 100 year old Portland house and they added a disposal, replaced an old laundry sink, updated some of the plumbing and installed a new water heater. Everyone was incredibly courteous and respectful of me and my home. Last week I thought my water heater was leaking so I contacted them at 10:00 on Friday night and left a voicemail. It turns out that the water heater was just fine and it was water seeping in the basement wall near the water heater. However, the owner of the company called me first thing Saturday morning!! That type of service is incredible. I immediately told him that I made a mistake and the water heater was fine. The owner stayed on the phone with me for 15 minutes talking about flooding in Portland basements and waterproofing work. This isn't even his business – he was just that genuinely interested in helping me!! I highly, highly recommend Service Plus Plumbing!

Needed concrete and a drain replaced because water was coming down our driveway and pooling up. Also.. our basement garage wall that faces Mt. Tabor leaks. I got two quotes, Lovett was 2x the other but I went with them because I wanted it done right and… it's concrete, you don't get a second chance.

I was so happy I did, the crew was pro and friendly. I felt confident from before they started. Jaimie was the lead, who was in touch and on site multiple times. Jeff, Mick/Nick and Diego were also great. Check the detail in the pics with the drain, the P trap has it's own cleanout and they added a backflow preventer thingee. It's all graded properly too.

Cornel’s was the only company that responded promptly and gave us a heads-up that we would also need to replace our gas line. We’re so glad we went with them because our inspector definitely would not have approved the installation otherwise! They showed up on time, removed the old water tank AND the massive supporting concrete block, which we were not expecting but so happy to see gone, and installed the gas line and tank in just a few days. The town inspector was nearly giddy with the size of our gas pipe and was impressed with the work. Everything works great and we’re happy.

Crown Plumbing managed to schedule me in as soon as possible. When Skylar came out to estimate the damage, he was excellent to deal with. His communication was fantastic explaining what needed done and when he could do it. He worked long hours down in my cold and wet crawlspace fixing the issue with a very positive attitude. The initial fix didn't completely solve the issue so he came back the following evening on his way home to correct the final piece. I can't say enough about how fantastic Skylar was to work with. I'd gladly work with both Skylar and Crown Plumbing again

From the beginning the customer‘s needs are placed first. We have had Crown help us with several projects and I will never call anyone else. Skylar replaced our kitchen faucet. He was knowledgeable, kind, and obviously cares. He was able to answer all our questions, provided great service and did his best to keep costs down for this and another upcoming project. The clog was challenging because of old pipes and lots of small diameter tight turns, and the distance to the clog was almost 30 feet down the pipes. I was relieved when Dwayne from Crown Plumbing managed to get things flowing.
Since the plumber was here, we got him to install a new disposal and a modern kitchen faucet with sprayer. I was glad to pay for the work because working on our 70 year old antique sink is no picnic. We are very pleased.

Joe arrived quickly with an apprentice. They were able to assess the job, provide an price, and complete the work in an hour. They were both professional, pleasant, and they left the work area clean. Top notch! I highly recommend Meticulous Plumbing.

They were both friendly and very efficient and did a great job, making sure everything was to our satisfaction and cleaning up thoroughly. Shae was the technician that repaired our sink and he is awesome! Very friendly and got our drain fixed quickly. My one complaint is that I was given an appointment window of 8am-12pm for expected arrival, and my technician wasn’t able to be here until 3 pm. Shae was the technician that repaired our sink and he is awesome! Very friendly and got our drain fixed quickly. My one complaint is that I was given an appointment window of 8am-12pm for expected arrival, and my technician wasn’t able to be here until 3 pm. These guys drove from Portland to get this fixed and it took several hours to correctly diagnose and fix the problem but they really came through and we are very grateful.
Jeffrey Brekas rated it 5/5: Plumber Technician Atkinson arrived at my house this Sunday evening to clear a stubborn clog in my sprawling drainline that is connected to three sinks, two tubs and a washing machine. At first the electrical powered snake he tried proved too short, but a determined Atkinson investigated under the house before retrieving a longer snake unit from his van. The longer snake cleared the drainline within minutes as the clog was almost 20 feet away. Atkinson said it is Rescue Rooter's goal to always leave customers happy. I am delighted I can take my morning shower without wading in cold-dirty water. Atkinson was very professional and was very careful not to soil the carpeting. He was great!!!

Get the call, a service tech was on his way.
2min later I get another call, actually there is a $99 service fee or he won't be coming. I told him I asked about that the night before, can it be waived?- it was their mistake. NO.
Then he added the pressure- so I have to know if I should call our man off the job right now because he's in route.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- hide the fee, pressure the customer when the tech is already in route- I asked if the owner would wave the fee for their mistake. NO.
No cost estimate as reassurance.
Don't use this company.
Micky Coyne rated it 1/5: They scheduled an emergency leak repair on Christmas Eve. We waited 4 hours for them to arrive only to have them cancel last second. By that point every plumber was booked and we were screwed. They are liars and rude and should not be in business.

It wasn't that much, so we put the towels on the floor last night and planned on calling our plumber today. The towels were soaked wet this morning!!! I panicked and called our plumber to find out that he had retired! I got more panicked and went online and looked for a local plumber with high ratings. I found John D Plumbing and called immediately. He said he could come within 15 min! And yes he did!!! He found out where the water was leaking and fixed it. All was done within 1 hr from the time I called him. Thank you very much, John!!!

He also noticed we had an open pipe from waiting for a sink to be installed, and suggested we put a cloth in the pipe to stop sewer gasses from getting into the house. Nice guy, great service. I'm giving 4 stars despite their astronomical quote which was almost 3x what another company quoted for the exact same job (total re-plumb of my 700 sq ft house) because the person I dealt with, Dustin, was on time, polite, had a positive attitude, and they did what they said they would do with no nudging needed by me. I'm not able to afford their services, but if I had the money, I would go with them because they seem competent and like they actually want to do their jobs, which is weirdly hard to find in Portland-area contractors.
