If you're looking for a great swimming pool in the Memphis area, look no further than Royal Swimming Pools! This facility has everything you need for a fun and relaxing day by the pool, including a large pool, a kiddie pool, a hot tub, and a snack bar. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. Most importantly, the pool is always clean and well-maintained.

Matt Moye rated it 1/5: Scott Ledford is a liar or his sales and support staff aren't trained correctly. I knew going into ordering a pool there could be delays for COVID. This was a $17,000 order so I didn't just hit "submit" on their site. I spoke to their staff in early May, before their warnings were on their site, and wanted to know what was "in stock" and what might be delayed.

They reassured me the only thing that needed special ordered was the liner and I'd receive everything else in a few weeks, 3-4 weeks. This whole process took 3 months because the stairs I ordered were not even close to in stock. This decision cost my family much of our summer happiness as originally we were going to buy a lake house.

I won't go into how terrible this process was but near the end I asked for a discount. Scott said he'd consider something once I received everything. Ater our build I reached out and they offered $200… Yes, you read that correctly. That's barely over 1%. I told him to "keep it" but should have said what I really thought…

Near the end I asked a manager to call me, no one ever did. They just want to lock you up in a contract and get your money. In other years, I'm sure things were fine but it's the tough times that really show people's character. Disgraceful and Scott should be ashamed of taking everyone's money, just shut down the orders if you can't fill them or do not lie to customers.

Btw, my pool came out amazing, no thanks to Royal's help. I had to make changes after talking to my installer and the expensive pump they recommended didn't go with the control system I had, and had asked about matching up explicitly.

Edit for Scott's rebuke:
– You basically just confirmed that your employees either lied or didn't know these steps were not in stock. So either a liar or misrepresenting.
– I called to change from the OmniLogic and asked if the new system would control the pump. They said the chlorinator would, it does not.
– I asked for a refund the whole time. I had no issue with the actual parts and what's why when I was referring friends. I also would tell this same story to them. If things were made right, I wouldn't be here and you're correct, I was asking for $1000 and I'll be taking this to the BBB and other places. Maybe open your reviews on FB so people can really see what's been going on lately.
– This review is completely factual and you're now calling me a liar, so we'll just agree to disagree.

  • Keith Pounds rated it 5/5: Royal has a good selection of above ground pools at a pretty good price too. If you are in the Memphis area, they even do the excavation and install for you. They are also one of if not the only company that will install a deep end for your above ground pool, which I thought was really cool! However, I rank as just 3 stars because the customer service has been pretty slow and/or non existent since taking my money. I still have not received our pool cover nor the two LED pool lights we ordered with the pool 2 months (or maybe more) later. I cannot seem to get in contact with anyone easily about it either to find out where they are. The only other bad thing is that after the install, the crew left their trash and all of the shipment boxes piled up in my backyard. It would have been nice if they would have hauled it away, but they did not. I thought that was kind of messy. But the job was actually done really well. I recommend paying the extra for the back fill however! We decided to skip that and do it ourselves, but man… what a pain in the back… that was my mistake. Would have been well worth paying for. While writing this review, I have been on hold for a good 25 minutes still waiting to hear about the lights and pool cover… and still waiting… . . . maybe eventually… Fix customer service and it would be 5 stars! Also, I should mention it is toward the end of the Coronavirus pandemic, so I'm sure that plays a role… but not answering emails after over a week is unacceptable regardless. That's plenty of time to respond to a simple shipping question.

EDIT: Shortly after writing this review, I was in contact with someone who found my pool cover and also located the issue with the pool lights I ordered. They found another distributor for the lights to get them sooner and should be on the way soon. I've changed my rating up to 5 now because they did such a good job and got back with me on my items missing. The only thing I wish was different would be that they would have asked if they could move the trash to the curb for me. No biggie, but would have been nice since it also had their trash from lunches during the days installing the pool. But the job outside of that was very well done!

  • Adam Morse rated it 5/5: Royal pool was awesome to deal with! This was the first time I ever did this and was able to complete the project by myself! I don’t understand the other review that states you can’t contact them. I was able to call and get drawings emailed to me to help the process. Great company to work with and I got an awesome pool with a black liner and sun ledge. We love it!
  • Ted Piper rated it 3/5: If they can GARUNTEE your entire kit is on stock go for it.
The shipping was a nightmare (just ask Megan with Royal, she handled my damaged and missing items claims). When items go missing or get damaged the carrier points fingers at warehouse blaming lousy packaging and the warehouse blames the carrier claiming lousy handling. While those two figure it out you are stuck like chuck till someone claims responsibility for the damaged items. I had a full size 18 wheeler at my house six times. I took four vacation days just to deal with the shipping debacle. Numerous times Items were listed as on the truck (bill of lading) but in reality were not on the truck. Once you point out to the drivers that the bill of lading shows items being delivered that are not even on the truck things can get very interesting depending on the drivers attitude, all while on the side of road next to an eighteen wheeler. Far to often items showed up damaged, items magically reappear and deliveries had to be rescheduled.
The shipping and handling with R&L carriers needs to be dropped entirely. Old dominion carriers came out once with an eighteen wheeler and everything was packaged and accounted for. The bill of lading actually matched what was on the truck for delivery.
Some of the staff at Royal are not the most courteous, had an issue with Jake that was fixed by another staff member (who's name I wish I could recall). Jake would have cost me a year if I had just listened to him and not pursued my skimmer issue. I had my entire pool kit minus one skimmer and without a skimmer you can't finish the pool, period. Jake insisted it could be up two months before my skimmer arrived, it was on backorder. We only get a few nice months in the northeast to decide whether or not to start this kind of project. After speaking with Jake I reached out to the manufacturer of the skimmer, who informed me that my skimmer model wouldn't see production again until 2022.I had the entire pool kit minus this skimmer by July 2021. I called back Royal and informed them of this, I spoke to a staff member whose name I wish I could recall ( not Jake or Zach). This guy at Royal had me my skimmer in a week, I mean at the doorstep. After Jake claimed it was absolutely not possible. After the skimmer issue was resolved we finished the pool by the end of September.
Once I actually had the entire kit things went together very nicely. My family and I did the entire pool install. We only contracted out the finished concrete work. That said, THIS WAS A LOT OF WORK, I WOULD NOT DO IT AGAIN as a DIYer. I can't stress making sure Royal assures you the entire kit is in the warehouse and ready to ship when you order. Not having components will put the brakes on the entire project. If the skimmer issue would not have been fixed, I would not have recommended Royal swimming pools. That said though, I would order off of Royal Swimming Pools again, knowing what I know now (kit availability and avoiding R&L carriers).
Thank you Royal as a whole, the pool has come out great!

  • Stephen Reyes rated it 1/5: Hello, pool installer ordered pool over the phone and told the person on the other side of the phone what was wanted, they sent over a design for approval, i approved it based over the conversation the installer and royal swimming pools had over the phone. i received the pool with the underwater lights missing and wrong coping. Coping that was received was for concrete and not for pavers which was explained to royal swimming pool over the phone. Royal swimming pools sent over a boxes of filters (6) i think in era and i sent them back thinking they made a era and sent me filters by mistake a $900.00 value. They told me that i would have to make a claim with the shipping company for the missing lights as if I'm the one who did buisness with the shipping company very unprofessional. They then told me to ship the coping back at my cost and they would refund me for coping era that they made so i went to shipping company and it was $960.00 to ship each box and i had 2 which would of been $1,920.00 which was more then the refund. Do not do business with them the screw up shipment orders it happened to me and a friend now they won't refund me.

Willie J. Wells rated it 3/5: The service department is awesome beyond words and get 20 stars out of five; unfortunately, the retail store is far from it and makes you empty promises. They will sell you chemicals you don’t need (I mean I get that it is a pool store after all) but they go as far as to not honor your warranty on any big ticket item you buy from them that they pitch to you- especially the Dolphin at at least in my case has been the issue. Instead, they give you a pitch about how the problem is just a “swivel” or something when it is actually the hose itself but what they don’t tell you when you buy that expensive Dolphin is they don’t honor the warranty and instead try to sell you the $250 hose each year thereafter. A nice fellow named Brooks showed me a hose that is covered under the warranty and how mine was not doing that yet and that is what the warranty covers; although, I explained to him that mine certainly has been doing that same thing but in multiple places in the hose, he just said try this now and reports my hose is straight when I know it isn’t.

  • Julie B rated it 1/5: Memphis pool built our pool about 4 years ago. After that, we paid them weekly to maintain it and keep it clean. They let our pool turn green 3 or 4 times, staining the hydrozzo finish. They had to drain our pool, acid wash it, and refill it. Brian, the pool service manager, decided to fire us as weekly service customers because he said "we just couldn't be pleased." My husband tried to reach out to the President of the company about 4 or 5 times, and the owner/president finally said that he was on his people's side and he would never meet with my husband.

Then recently, they quoted me $600 to replace five 1 x 1 mosaic tiles in my hot tub. This was after I requested someone to come out for over a month. They also have a ticket in to fix my in ground cleaning system and spa light. They do not make existing customers priority. I feel that once they get your $$$$ to build your pool, you are no longer important. Customer service is definitely their biggest weakness.

Within 48 hours, I had Pool Sharks come out and replace my tiles for a tiny fraction of the $600 that Memphis Pool quoted me. Pool Sharks were very professional, cost effect, and knowledgeable. Thanks Pool Sharks. I will continue to do business with you.

BUBBA SMITH rated it 1/5: CANNOT BELIEVE THEY HAD THE BALLS TO SEND AN INVOICE FOR OPENING MY POOL THIS YEAR. STATED THEY PUT CHEMICALS IN POOL ALSO. • Colleen Stephens rated it 5/5: I am so happy that I called and spoke to Ricky about my pool. He was super nice and helpful. Sent Kenny out to check on my pump and all it needed was to be cleaned, he also helped me get the top off because I couldn't get it to budge. I had previously called Advantage Pools and the person they sent was although nice didn't seem to interested in what I needed. So I will be using Smith Pools for all of my future needs. Thanks guys
  • Kittie Sullivan rated it 5/5: We had our 18×33 oval pool installed in April 2021. They leveled out the ground and it was up the next day. We put the pool where we had some drainage issues (our fault) and then the liner had a leak. Joe was the utmost professional. He came out the same day I called him about the leak and left a sump pump to drain the pool and plans to replace the liner at no charge. We agreed to let the ground dry out around before they did the work. After talking to a couple of engineers, we decided to move the pool to the opposite side of the yard. We felt this would be a better and DRYER place to put the pool. Once again – Joe came through. They were going to replace the liner anyway, so we scheduled another dig and his crew came out bright and early last Saturday to MOVE THE POOL. (We paid for the move FYI) They got everything set up, even moved the dirt to where the old pool was. We started swimming this week! Joe and his employees are always professional and willing to go above and beyond to help us get our pool ready for summer. I am so glad we went with Smith pools instead of other above ground pool companies in the area. They are responsive to our questions and took care of us like family!

  • kathy hill rated it 1/5: Had a salt water above ground pool installed in May, I was lucky to get manuals on equipment for warranty to register online. Saltwater timer didn’t work when installed, manually using it. No info on how to take care chemicals whatsoever! Rather have chlorine pool back for sure, lights are blinking and I’m having to goggle info & not helpful at all !! Left us bags of chlorine?? A booklet would have been nice, have no idea what to do or add 🥵
  • Stephanie Smith rated it 1/5: I brought a pool from them 18 years ago. Then got them to replace liner about 7 years ago. I now want to talk to them about a new 30 foot pool. They will not answer phone nor call me back. I have been leaving messages and sending texts for 4 months. I have referred 20 plus people to them for pool purchases ???

Rick Tedaldi rated it 1/5: Criminals. Took order for product. Charged my credit card immediately. Their systems were down when I went to pick up the order so they couldn't give me the product even though I had a copy of the order and had driven 25 miles to pick it up. It took them 4 days to finally cancel the order and now I'm waiting 5 days later for the credit on my card. They say it will be another 5 to 10 days.
Lost a long time valuable customer for horrid customer service.

Incredibly bad. Would not return calls or follow through with promises. Rude on the phone. Always trying to overcharge. Would not recommend.
  • Brian Clark rated it 1/5: So they are open, I called to save the drive and no one answers. Drove there anyway. 1 person working. Nobody in sight as far as customers. All I needed was a standard in ground pool light. Very common right? None in stock, 2nd location attempt. Just answer the phone people.

Orville Nevels rated it 2/5: The technician failed to properly return the handle on the pool pump back to Filter after it was on Waste. This caused the water to drained out of the pool below the skimmers causing the motor to be damaged after several hours of running. I tried calling and texting the owner Amani. when I told him what happened he said he would come out and take a look. He never showed up and it’s been 5 days and now I have to replace the motor at a cost of $1,000 +. Poor customer service and unwilling to resolve issues caused by his technician. I strongly recommend you use someone else.

  • Mars R rated it 1/5: Do not use. He may offer a competitive price but it’s worth spending few more bucks to avoid the frustration. Amani said he would clean my pool but when I reviewed the work there was still dirt at the bottom when he was “finished”. Then he tried to charge me an extra $45 to come back and clean the dirt because cleaning the dirt “is not included in the pool cleaning service”. I said no thanks and good riddance. Also didn’t show up when he said he would. Not a professional experience overall.

Edit: We have video evidence of you only using a net to clean the pool and never using any vacuum cleaner on any debris at the bottom of the pool. The spot was sand not a stain and we had discussed it beforehand. You also offered to fix your mistake but you were MIA until you reached out randomly to clean and get paid to apply stain remover. Also, to be clear we paid you half your fee for only performing half of the agreed upon work. Simply put this was an unprofessional experience and we standby not using your service again.

  • Shannon Kirk rated it 1/5: I reached out to the owner of this company on a Tuesday afternoon. He sent a technician to my house right away (which I was thankful for). The technician tested my water, vacuumed my pool, and added 4 pounds of shock. He told me that the water would no longer be green and cloudy tomorrow, but sparkling blue. The next day my little girl ran outside and saw the water was still green and cloudy. Her heart was broken. I texted the manager and said, "the water in my pool is still green and cloudy". He asked for a picture. I sent him 4 pictures of my water. He did not respond after that. I finally texted him again the next day and said, "hello??? what do I do about my pool??" He wrote back the following day and said, "I am so sorry, we were very busy yesterday. We will come out tomorrow and see what's going on."

I haven't heard a word since. I have texted and called. No response. I would not recommend this company. They do not communicate and/or keep their word with response times. Now, I have to pay someone else to start from scratch because this company couldn't follow-up with me. I am so disappointed.

  • William Hall rated it 1/5: I spent 3 hours cleaning my pool today as I had an appointment for this company to winterize my pool for me. Not only did they not show up to my appointment, they stopped responding to all my text and phone calls.

I could have spent the entire afternoon of my Saturday doing something else instead of waiting around for hours on you to show up to my house. Don't waste your time scheduling with this company.

  • Lisa C rated it 5/5: We love Memphis Pool Germantown! We recently purchased a hot tub and the staff at the Germantown store went above and beyond to help us. From the assistance with selecting our hot tub to the delivery team we received excellent customer service (knowledgeable, friendly, professional)! We were not able to set up our tub on the day of delivery (our fault) so a few days later when we did set up the tub the Manager Josh made another trip to our home to make sure everything was set up and working correctly. So nice! Overall, we are very happy with Memphis Pool Germantown and HIGHLY recommend them for anyone interested in a pool or hot tub…they have a great selection of pool supplies and accessories too!

  • Brian Clark rated it 5/5: Great service. The only pool company that responded to my online request on a weekend. I tried 3 pool companies. Advantage pools contacted me Monday morning and I set the appointment with Omar. Upon arrival he was very helpful and knowledgeable and pinpointed the problem in minutes. We discussed my options and made a plan. Then he asked if I had any other issues and I did. So glad he asked. We isolated the second problem I was having, formulated a plan and I told him I can tackle it myself. I paid the very reasonable service call fee and thanked him. 3 days later I fixed my issues. I would recommend this business for your pool needs. Omar is doing a great job for this company to help turn it around.

  • Mike Myers rated it 5/5: I have been using Advantage Pools for several months now (weekly service) and could not be happier with the polite, responsive, and professional services provided. We actually had been out of town and unknown to us, suffered a power failure to the pool breaker. The summer temps combined with no filtration took immediate effect. I placed an email to the Advantage Pools Office and Mary took the issue straight to the top. We had personalized attention over the next few days and miraculously – Advantage turned our 'end of days' aquarium back into the backyard pearl we love. A thank you was not nearly enough to demonstrate our sincere appreciation. I seldom post anything online, but to keep this level of customer service and professional care to myself seemed wrong. Thank you, Mary and Fred…and the rest of the Advantage Pools team !!

This company did their job and beyond. We are super excited with the work Brian and the crew at Advantage Pools completed. I would definitely use them again and I would recommend them to anyone needing their pool resurfaced or even maintained. The staff and I are truly grateful. Called on Mon 7/25, told the person what I needed, sent pics, she said svc mgr would send me an estimate. Followed up on Wed 7/27, she said svc mgr had not gotten to it. Follwed up on Tues 8/2, asked if they were sending or should I go somewhere else. She said they were too busy; that I should go somewhere else. She could have told me this last week.

Amy Acree rated it 2/5: Don’t ask questions.

We recently decided we needed a pool outdoor remodel. After getting several different quotes, we decided to use Integrity Pools. We never did a formal in person meeting with them about our pool liner, everything was done digitally on their end. We went with them specifically because their website said “pool remodel”.

Integrity Pools set up a time for the owner and his wife to come out and do a custom liner measurements. When John arrived he did not knock on the door to let me know he was here instead he just came to the back yard. I saw him arrive so I came outside to say hello and ask him if I could ask my questions at the beginning or if I should wait.

I think it’s important for everyone to know that this is the very first time I’ve ever had to have a liner replaced. It’s not something I’m knowledgeable about. We don’t know or understand what goes into pool liner replacement and what the pool might look like under the liner. So we naturally had a few questions.

John tells me to go ahead and ask my questions. I had a total of 4 questions to ask. I begin with a question about the stair strips. He gives me his suggestion and I text his response to my husband, who is at work. I move on to my second question. John says he’d have to call to ask if the liner we picked would be an up charge. When he gets off the phone I ask him a follow up question about the stair strips that my husband was wanting to know for understanding. Again, we’ve never had a pool liner replaced.

John again says he’ll call his guy to ask if the new stair liner strips even have covers. He spokes to his guy and says that the new strips don’t even have the rubber cap. I say ok let me text my husband. At which point John says, “Is your husband detail oriented?” I say, yes he is. His job is very detailed. And when we have work done and we’re paying as much as we are, we like to know what’s going into it. John the says, “I don’t mean to be rude, but if your going to have this many questions, I don’t want to do the job. It’s not worth the drive & time if your going to keep asking questions.” Needless too say I was a bit shocked but I text my husband to let him know what John said.

Clearly we decided not to use them. My husbands response was, If he is worried about being detail oriented, that means his craftsmanship clearly isn’t up to par. If they didn’t want to do the job from the beginning because of the drive, they never should’ve said they don’t service our area. Needless to say I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. We literally were asking questions because we wanted to make sure everything was done at once. We’re more than willing to pay extra for what we wanted if that was what was required.

I would give Integrity Pools a 1, if it were not for Dale, who was our connection during our initial conversations & how quickly we were refunded our 1/2 down payment for the work that was supposed to be done. Dale did have excellent communication. It was a great experience until I met the owner John.

Dale kept us well informed throughout the process and the results were AMAZING! Very competitively priced and we couldn't have been happier! HIGHLY Recommend John Russell! He will take great care of you and won't steer you wrong. Thank You again to the team at Integrity Pools!
  • Chris Craft rated it 5/5: A fantastic experience from start to present!! They helped me get my pool straightened out and quoted me for a new liner. From our first contact until present day – about 7 weeks later due to Covid workforce supply chain issues- they have treated me and my pool with great care and respect. When we started I had a pool that was a lovely emerald green hue and was awful! They quoted for a new liner and helped me through that decision process- more steps than I was initially aware of- then helped me clear my pool up so we could use it until the new liner came in. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I had dealings with Dale, John, Robin, Caesar, and Cooper and each of them were great! Talked me through the entire liner replacement process and educated me along the way. I truly could not be more pleased with the service and the actual liner now. Thank you guys for such great service!i
  • Witt McKay rated it 5/5: As first-time pool owners, we decided to go with the well know pool company that serviced our pool for the previous owners. They took the cover off and dumped chemicals into the water before checking if our pump worked. They left without saying a word and sent us a quote for a new pool pump a few days later.

We fired them immediately and were referred to integrity pool repair. Cooper Harrison and the owner John both came out and went above and beyond to troubleshoot issue. They saved us thousands of dollars by fixing what we already had. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable pool company they can trust.

  • cris brown rated it 1/5: For 3 years we paid this company for pool service. We found out that they had not been servicing our pool AT ALL after about 10 months of service other than skimming things out of it. We contacted them, the owner came out and assured us that things would be better. We stayed with them and have had SO MANY problems with our pool. We get a message from them that said "you might want to start thinking about budgeting for repairs because you need blah blah blah done" so I hired another company to come out and check it and NONE of the repairs that they claimed we needed are necessary and this company was just scamming us. We today took the water from our pool to a place that measures the chemicals and tells you what you need. Well i need $200 in chemicals because even though my pool was "Serviced" by Integrity 3 days ago, none of the needed chemicals are in my pool…. MY CHLORINE IS AT 0!!!! This company should consider changing their name from Integrity to something more fitting like pretend pool service. Filing a small claims against them for all of the months that I've paid for.
