I used Pool Pros with a previous property as well, I inherited them on this property at takeover and not much has changed from what I remembered in using them. Nobody responds to emails unless you push them hard. All I ask is professional service and communication. On the plus, the techs have always been very nice. It's the office team that needs a serious overhaul, it can be a week or more before anyone responds, if they respond at all. You can check and reply to emails anywhere, so there really isn't any excuse for the poor communication. I guess you can't have it all.

Why ?
1. Order their service last June to do a cloudy pool cleaning.
Pay $599 upfront upon their 1st day at site, that's a bad, bad mistake to pay in full upfront.
Then after that, they just disappeared. Don't answer email or call after days and weeks.
Communication is almost nonexistent. Even you push them hard and luckily someone returned your call but still fail to show up as they confirmed.
Then weeks later, one new guy suddenly show up at your backyard without prior notice, being there for 5 minutes then disappear again with job half done.
Such nightmare repeat over & over again for 2+ months until they finally, barely completed the pool cleaning, which should be done within a week. Not to mention the painful hassle involved.
2. Apr/2022, give them another chance for pool replaster service. Unfortunately the same poor communication & service happened again. I didn't even bother to do business with them. All I ask is professional service and communication.
The office team that really needs a serious overhaul. You're not going to get any referral business with the way you treat your customers.

Last month we ordered a spa cover and the employee failed to contact us to confirm the measurement, before pushing the order to the manufacturer. The employee just guessed the numbers and so the cover was made totally wrong. She should have at least called us first, before confirming with the manufacturer. Upon placing the order, Carlos didn't say it was not refundable and he didn't even give us any documentation for placing the order. Now he won't take it back or refund. Very unprofessional business! Now we are stuck with an expensive item that we can't use! Avoid dishonest merchants who don't put their customers first!

The owner Carlos is a dishonest man!
He tried to sneak in a shipping fee after the cover came to the store and that he would not deliver.

Overall, I am very pleased with this company, they came to my house in a timely manner and gave me a very reasonable estimate and finished an excellent job in 3 days, way above my expectation. Workers did not clean up after their work, the front office generally failed to communicate and it appeared there was no communication between the office and the work crews. This project took almost 6 months and while the finished product looks nice, from start to finish it has been a challenge working with this company. No one should suffer through a project like this.

There were problems in the structure of our pool, i.e rusted steel in the shell and did not tell us when they were replastering so that it could be fixed. Had to go to their bond company and had to share the $15k with another client they did poor workmanship on. Go to Houzz and read their reviews. Terrible company and they left us hanging and ignored us not returning telephone calls. The shell cracked, there was rust from the steel coming through the plaster (not enough plaster being cheap) and the plaster was chipping on the stairs within a year. Avoid this disaster of a company at all costs. Our previous plaster job lasted 15 years. Something wrong happens? You are on your own. They do not back up/warranty their lousy work.

Go to Scuba Pool Repair in Campbell. They have staff, return calls and do excellent work. If someone like Blue Splash doesn't call you back to get business how do you think they are going to treat you when you have a problem?

Our pool had a large crack – 6 ft and past the skimmer – and they came out to do a thorough leak test then quoted us for repairs. They are clearly busy as we needed to wait several weeks for the work to start but it was worth the wait. I highly recommend them.

My overall experience with Blue Splash Pool Service has been outstanding. In early 2022 I needed a complete pool remodel including replastering and pool equipment upgrade and relocation including new gas line and electrical. This pool system was originally installed at my home in Cupertino in the 1950’s or 60’s and had an in-ground pool filtering system that was inefficient, obsolete and very difficult to manage. Also, the old pool equipment was adjacent to the pool and very noisy.
I had a difficult time finding the best company that could or would do this project and solve my problem. I contacted several pool companies and had many bids. Finally (thank goodness) Miguel Lopez founder and owner of Blue Splash Pool and Service came to my home to provide me with an estimate for the entire job. Miguel is extremely experienced and knowledgable and provided me with a very competitive bid which I accepted.

The crew at Blue Splash Pool Service:
• Drained the pool
• Removed the old in- ground pool filter system
• Rerouted the entire old pool plumbing and electrical systems
• Moved the plumbing underground and under a deck and under a lawn to a better out-of-the-way location about 50 feet away
• Installed a new gas pipe (100’)
• Installed and rerouted a 220 volt electrical conduit (110’)
• Installed a concrete slab for pool equipment
• Installed a new PENTAIR Pool System including:
– 420 square foot cartridge filter & equipment
– 3 HP filter pump/motor
– Booster/pump/motor for the pool sweep
– 400,000 BTU heater
– Automatic chlorinator system that converts saltwater into chlorine
– Wireless WiFi electronic control system that I can now control from my cell phone

• Removed old pool plaster down to gunite
• Replasterd 16’x32’ kidney shaped pool, installed a new skimmer, added additional water outlets, installed new color LED pool light and rerouted pool light electrical under ground to new pool equipment location (60 feet)

Miguel was on-site almost every day managing this project. He was always available by text or phone to come by to answer questions during and after the completion of this project. He trained me how to maintain the new system. He also came by after 6 months and showed me how to clean the filter and clean the saltwater chlorinator. Every man that was assigned to this project was knowledgeable, skilled, honest, friendly and employees of Blue Splash Pool Service (no subcontractors). Miguel was also open to changes and additions to this project.

He is very fair and helped me with installing my VSP pool pump, pool sweep and re-routing the plumping to make it more efficient and up to code. He even spent time looking at my very old heater that happen to just stop working.
We are doing remodeling of our fixer upper and have run into alot of terrible contractors. Rich is the best, most professional contractor we have dealt with. We will definitely work again with him in the future.

The pool project completion date was for May 28th it’s May 23rd and they haven’t even finished draining the water out of the pool going on 9 days now. I’ve lived at this HOA for 35 years and in all the times that I lived here it’s never taken more than 3 days to drain the pool. At this point I would never recommend this company to anyone ever! They have a lot of work to do to prove themselves to this HOA the homeowners deserve it!!! And these guys are already getting their first check it has already been given.

Allen’s Pool Supply provided a sub-par work product which caused my pool to become structurally unsound and included several sever material defects, afterwitch they intentionally failed to respond to multiple emails, phone calls, voicemails and to in person visits.

After paying large amounts of money for their service, my pool and home are in worse shape than they were before contracting with Allen’s. In addition to not completing the contracted job, Allen’s workers have caused my pool to become structurally unsound through lack of lateral and subjacent support due to unnecessary or incorrect excavations and cement work.

Contract:
I contracted with Allen’s in October of 2017 to (1) Fiberglass my inground cement pool (2) Fix my Skimmer and (3) To tile part of the pool.

Timeline:
I contracted with Allen’s in October of 2017. Final payment for said work was furnished to the owner of Allen’s, Dave Allen, on December 14th, 2017. The work was supposed to take two weeks to complete but still has not been completed to date which is July 11, 2018, 9 months later.

Plain Statement of Carl McFadden’s Complaint Against Allen’s Pool Service & Supply:
– Allen’s has purposefully failed to remedy defective work
– Allen’s has purposefully failed to respond to emails, phone calls, voicemails and to in person visits. All of this including over 30 attempts to contact them.
– Allen’s has not completed the work contracted for
– Allen’s caused my pool to constantly leak water
– Allen’s incorrectly installed the new skimmer in my pool rendering the pool visually unsightly and mechanically flawed
– Allen’s did not correct sub-par tile work in my pool
– Concrete mud ended up in the main drain of my pool
– Tiles are falling off of my pool due to Allen’s poor workmanship
– Holes and cracks are forming in the side of my pool due to Allen’s work
– Allen’s has caused my pool to be incorrectly braced
– Allen’s excavations and cement work has caused lateral and subjacent support issues in my pool rendering it structurally unsound
– Allen’s failure to furnish the additional locking system the pool correctly has left it structurally unsound
– Allen’s cut holes in the wood in my deck and did not repair it
– Allen’s chiseled cement out from my pool and did not replace or repair the removed cement
– Mortar chunks periodically fall from the side of my pool into the pool due to Allen’s poor work

Now its the Pool season, I have tiles coming off, huge cracks in the mortar and my new skimmer is not aligned correctly. It looks bad and has caused the pool to leak. Furthermore, the leaking is weakening the walls and the concrete behind the skimmer leaving it structurally jeopardized.

The job started in OCT 2017 last payment was 12/14/17 This nightmare took two and a half months. Dave’s son said it would take 2 weeks. Now it is 7/11/18, more than 8 months have gone by now. I have had countless sleepless nights worrying about this it is unsettling and cruel.

LaToya Perry rated it 1/5: If i could I would give zero stars! Signed contract November 2017. Pool finally finished January 29, 2019. This occurred only after I contacted the California Licensing Burea and filed a claim against their bond. Luckily I communicated with them through email and kept a lot of documentation. Although the investigator didn't agree the work was poorly done, or should I say worth them twarinf it out and having rhem do it properly, and is was only esthetically unappealing. They were found responsible for mastic crumbling and not pulling permits for plumbing. In order not to have their license affected we came to an agreeable settlement, just to be done with them and we will hire someone else to make it esthetically pleasing, which is what we thought we were getting. Don't waste your time and money with this company! We wish we had known better and I don't want anyone else to go through what we have.
Steven Schefke rated it 1/5: We had Allen Pools resurface and install new tiles and the fiberglass has chipped away in 4 places already which I had to patch myself and the the grout around the the tiles desolated off and several tiles just dropped off which I had to reattach. Terrible workmanship and just a total waste of money. Here you are paying to upgrade your pool only to find out you still need to spend more time and money just to fix their poor work. I know they are only one of a few choices to assist you in repairing your pool but I would NOT recommend them at all. Blue Splash Pools would be a much better choice as they did great repair work on my pool.

Sara Brown rated it 5/5: Angel Olivera has provided us exceptional pool and spa care for close to 2 years. He’s reliable, knowledgeable, communicative, and keeps the pool and spa sparkling. Not only does he keep everything looking great, but he keeps our equipment in top shape, as well. He takes care of small repairs same day, and makes sure I understand larger issues as they arise (including fair and transparent pricing). He’s never missed a week and has regular access to our house to service the courtyard spa. He’s also an all around great guy and my kids love him! I highly recommend Angel-he can’t be beat!

He is very knowledgeable in what needs to be done regularly, on a weekly basis as well as from time to time (like cleaning the main filter). He can also give good advise on pool equipment repair or replacement and can actually do the work for you if you need to. I would certainly recommend Angel to other pool owners, certainly when they inherit a pool and don't know where to start. Angel's price is also very competitive.
Cad L rated it 5/5: Angel took great care of my issue when I had a leak in my solar pool heater last week. I was impressed by Angel's quick and detailed response. I had contacted him later in the day, so Angel took a quick look on google maps to see what kind of solar system I had on my roof and told me all of the potential leakage points and provided a detailed estimate on what it may cost dependent on the leak. We then set an appointment up for the fix, and he quickly came by to fix the issue. No more leaks! Angel was extremely friendly and professional through this experience.

The following day, I texted him and didn’t get any reply. The reviews must be old because he’s not very responsive.

I found genie pool and spa and Have used them from 2 years to present. They maintain my pool and spa. I also had them do some work to upgrade my pool system. I have been very pleased with them and they keep the pool and spa extraordinary. The staff is amazing. They are super friendly and always there to help with questions. I have a set day as well which is awesome. Another plus they have no issues of anyone owning dogs. I highly recommend genie pool and spa.
KM Chong rated it 5/5: Bought a brand new pentair pool walker and it died out of the box. Pentair sent me to another service provider who did not bother to respond. 180 degrees different with Genie.
They were responsive and got the walker fixed in good time and installed it for me without needing me to be around etc. Seamless. Lucky for pentair they have at least one good service provider.

I would recommend Genie Pool but would hesitate to recommend pentair!

I forgot to add: if you get a chance, have Sergio fix your problem for you. He is friendly, helpful and keeps his commitments, which makes the whole process of working with Genie so easy.b
