John came out and started troubleshooting the situation. Within 10 minutes he had discovered the leak (it was in the skimmer) and 5 minutes after that it was repaired. Great service and he took the time to educate this homeowner. Awesome Service!

Im still waiting after 2 weeks. The service department dropped the ball on a promise to replace a broken wheel on the pool cover, making me very hesitant to try to open it. It was finally fixed at no charge after a month of runaround. I've used UM for opening and closing my ingrown pool for years, but l am not sure if l will continue to use them after this "comedy" of errors.

As he tested the water we chatted and he answered some questions I had and then he help me find the chemicals I needed and went over the directions a couple of times! He rang me up and then helped me out with all the chemicals. I was pleased with the service and friendly attitudes!

I built a pool years ago and was very happy with Ultra Modern, bought patio furniture as well. Today, so disappointing! I asked some questions but the woman was rather rude and dismissive. My husband walked out. He said he wouldn’t buy anything from her. The guy, was better but really seemed uninterested. I don’t know their names but apparently we were not welcome 30 minutes before closing.

At 10:05am an employee showed up, parked in the space right in front of the door (with an empty parking lot), expressed surprise that her store didn’t open at 10:30am and blamed the lack of knowing the store hours or when her shift started on being new. She apologized and said “give me 10 seconds to get setup”. No problem, seemed like an honest mistake, I was very understanding and not upset. I stood outside and waited 15 minutes for her to “get setup” and open the store; it never happened. At 10:20am, I was upset with the horrible customer service and lack of any communication, and left. I often find they are out of chemicals, understaffed (leading to long waits), water tests won’t print, or employees that just don’t care. A few employees are awesome, but the few cannot carry the whole store. I am not sure I will be back.

The manager at the west store, Susan, is the most knowledgeable person for all things "pool" we've ever come across. She answers all our questions, knows all about pumps….anything "pool" she absolutely knows! She's even saved us money by suggesting options that we might not have otherwise considered. If you have a pool question or quandary, Susan will figure it out for you!

  • Matt Harmon rated it 1/5: I visited the store on a Tuesday, searching for replacement part for my Baracuda pool vacuum. The part had to shipped from another store, they took my phone number, and I was told it would “take a couple of days.” That Friday, I called to check since I hadn’t heard anything and was told “we won’t know when it is coming in until it gets here”. Really? You can’t call the store that shipped it to confirm when they shipped it? Or get a tracking number? I called back the following Tuesday, in the morning, it has been a week now, and I’m told this time that “we just received a bunch of mail that we have to open, let me get your name and # and call you back”. Tuesday afternoon, 6 hours later and close to their closing time, I call again, not have received a return phone call. This time it rings about 10 times, then I get a fax tone, then when I try to call back I get a busy signal. I never received a return phone call.

    With so much emphasis on buy local, why does this pool store have such bad customer service? This is not an isolated incident. I gave them a try because I thought they could serve me quicker than Amazon in this case and they failed miserably. I just ordered the parts from Amazon and they will take 8-14 days to arrive in addition to the 7 days I already wasted at Leslie’s (these items are not offered as prime, nor does the seller offer faster shipping options). Now, it will be close to 3 weeks that I can’t get my pool balanced, vacuumed and opened. Including not being able to swim Memorial Day weekend.

The person in front of me bought a $1300 pool filter and had his toddler with him. The worker told him he could wait and she would help carry it… I actually told the worker I'd do it so she could keep checking and carried the filter out for the guy and his patient toddler… She literally went and helped the part lady again for ten minutes leaving us seven in line for 10 minutes more.

    Service was great for the lady needing parts but she left with no purchases because she said she didn't have time to wait inline!!!!

They have come out on a Saturday evening before to fix an old motor that went belly up. They care! They are busy so you do have to be patient. Schedule can be fluid which can stink things happen! Weather or your opening someone elses pool and they find an issue which can delay the next appointment! I know this happens because I have seen them find an issue at my pool and be delayed for the next person! But they didn’t leave me hanging! Let’s go 2021 season!!!!

I called multiple times over several months spoke to a couple different people made 2 different appointments to have someone come out and put parts and never did. Finally gave up. Really wish the outcome would have been different. Local guys were friendly, but I seriously think call center you have to call into causes a lot of the issues/miscommunication.
  • V Ro rated it 1/5: I had numerous major issues with Cover Care. I suspected a wiring issue with the motor or circuit board, and requested they leave the old motor when they insisted on a new one. He took it anyway and after repeated calls he said “oh I left it by your basement door”. I have never had theft issues and have a secure fenced yard, plus it is very secluded. I suspect they didn’t want me to discover there was nothing wrong with the old motor but a wiring issue. Next, they wired the switch backwards and the pool cover had no stop for opening it and would slam into the front if not very careful and get stuck and not work so I called and asked them to fix these issues and then they SENT ME A BILL FOR IT FOR $210.00. They said they would take care of it and then 4 months later I GOT THE SAME BILL AGAIN. I thought they were different but apparently not.

It would get stuck on my drain and not clean the corners very well. They took the troubled one back in and I ponied up and got their best. Very happy with new vacuumed and how it was handled.     I called them to shut down my pool yes it was green it was only suppose to take a few days. They forgot they were suppose to come back out to finish it, so I had to call them. They were here 3 times day when between when they would come out. I asked if I should do anything between thier visits they said no.
    Well got charge 741 dollars to have the pool clean and shut down for the winter.
    My pool was still green the last time they came out and shut it down.
    I had them scheduled to do the opening of my pool and weekly maintenance. Definitely, not anymore canceled that service.
    But they still got paid.

    Something that really bothered us this past year was a leak issue in our inground pool. I contacted JP about the issue in March and he came out in April to look at it. He told me he would put me in the schedule to fix this for me in May. After having to reschedule on multiple occasions, he finally came out. He ended up digging a huge hole in our backyard under some cement blocks to look at the pipes. He told me cost of repair and we agreed to it. He said he would be out later that week to fix. And then we NEVER heard back from him. I kept texting but no response. And yes, we still have the huge hole in our backyard that he left behind. We have always been very accommodating and patient with his busy schedule but to simply ignore us completely was beyond disappointing.

    A month later, we finally contacted another vendor recommended to us from a friend. This guy was 100 times better. Found the leak same day he came out to look (it was in a completely different spot from where JP dug that hole). Fixed the leak very fast and the repair cost was extremely affordable (way cheaper than what JP quoted us on). The new vendor always responded back to us immediately and was super professional.

    Because we wasted our time working with JP in May and June, we didn’t get the pool open until July after having the leak fixed (it would flood our neighbor’s yard when running the pump). Suffice it to say, we are NEVER going back to JP.

    The least he could have done would be to tell us upfront that he couldn’t help us so that we could find someone quicker. Don’t just ignore us; such terrible customer service skills.

    UPDATE:
    After seeing JP's response to this review, I reached out to him immediately to find out what possible past due balance I could have. I have paid for everything that he has ever billed me for. In fact, the last time I heard from him was when he quoted me for how much it would cost to repair my leak after he came and dug the hole in my yard. I still haven't heard from JP and there is no "office" to call into. It's just his cell number. I've left him messages and he still appears to be ignoring me. So I guess a letter via snail mail may be the only way to get his attention at this point.

  • Victor Lukic rated it 5/5: Awesome work! This was a big pool project done through the rainiest season on record. No way to control delays but Dave worked through them all. The tradesmen, every one of them, was excellent. I've worked on construction to pay for school so I have a good idea what good looks like.. this exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend Dave and Treescapes. BTW.. we also bought a pile of furniture from Dave.. expensive, but absolutely worth every penny.

    All three companies were similiar in price. Big wave/ treescapes use the best parts for assembly (Pentair).

    They were the only company confident that they could get it done before the end of this summer.

    We have been swimming in it for 2 weeks….in July.

    The contractors he has sent to us have all been pleasant to work with. And, more importantly have done a great job.

    We are not using their pool care services as we have been pool owners for years. But those prices were competitive and they seemed very knowledgeable about the monitoring needed. We will use them to close and open the pool, at least the first time.

    Only complaint would be that sometime they were too aggressive about getting the job done, and their contractors could use a little more coordination. (For instance, the drainage crew cut our internet line. It was probably avoidable had they looked around a little or asked us. On the positive, it was fixed and buried by them. We also had our sprinkler service mark some things prior to digging. One crew noted this, but another cut into stuff. In the end it probably wont matter, but I would tell anybody putting in a pool to expect some of this. To be honest, I expected more issues.

The project was completed on time with no issues. Every employee was polite, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. This is a one stop shop.
  • Frank Cotter rated it 1/5: Treescapes did our new lawn and sprinkler system. We had a pipe crack on our sprinklers about 6 months out and could not run our system for a week as they were too busy to fix this as it is under warranty. The technician that came out to finally repair said they used a thin Schedule pipe and they replaced with the correct size.
    I get a bill for 112 $ later as they said it us for the service call. I informed them it is under warranty. They sent another bill before years end with no response, no call and the owner hides.
    DO NOT-use this company as they do not stand behind their work and have no time to respond or honor their warranty.
    Poor company- poor workmanship abs lastly even an owner who does not care to even return a call to discuss.
    One star is too much to give actually!

They were upfront about costs, any possible hidden costs that may happen and the time frame in which the pool would be complete.
    Their crew worked HARD and definitely know what they are doing!

    If we ever any questions or if we needed anything fixed (ex: a subcontractor accidentally got cement on our window and they immediately came to clean that up for us) they were very quick to answer/remedy it.

    The owners (3 Brothers) were courteous, respectful and definitely knowledgeable when it comes to building pools.

    I would you’re definitely recommend them to anyone who is thinking about putting in a pool.

    They even gave us a pool tutorial and some amazing tips!

Multiple crews assembled the pool and 1200 SQF of new concrete patio space per our updated landscape design.
