Bob Schott rated it 5/5: Today was probably the fourth time I have contacted Waste Connections, Bridge City. Recently, they picked up my wood fence debris that I finally replaced from Hurricane Ida. Their Customer Service and their Customer Service Representatives are A+, First Class! I think it was Melba that I spoke to yesterday and today, and this lady is phenomenal. She could be a great trainer for all those bad, rude customer service people out there that don't know how to do their job.

Normal trash pickup days come and go, the trash remains. Sometimes with weeks between pickups. Trash cans permanently lining our streets for weeks, months, at a time. And that's just the regular service. I also had an approved/assigned bulk item pickup that sat untouched for 3 months. After about a month of waiting, I was given Metro’s contact number and I called just about every day for two months getting the same story (“we’re sending a supervisor out to pick it up for you right now”), but no one ever showed up. First their excuse was COVID (despite other contractors in the city being able to fulfill their services), and then when Ida hit, they pivoted to that as an excuse. I eventually just gave up and dropped it off myself at the city-wide recycling day a couple weekends ago. Trash service is something we pay for. We expect to be treated with decency and respect, which is exactly the opposite of how we have felt week after week and month after month of neglectful service. To the city: please award our neighborhood’s contract to a functional company who will do what it takes to retain a workforce (a livable wage for its workers would be a start).

They are the worst, we have called them every week for over a month to come out and empty our dumpster and we always get told that they will pass the message and have someone call us and schedule an emergency pick up and we received none of that. We asked when our pick up days are and was told there is no set schedule for our area, which is absolutely ridiculous. How do you not have set pick up days??? I would never recommend this company and I wish our parish would drop them.

The driver inadvertently missed our bin and we called to alert Richard's of the issue. The driver returned within an hour and removed our trash. Additionally, we need a new bin and after 3 weeks, we received it. Being that it was holiday time, we knew we would have to wait but last Friday a service worker provided the bin. They resolved both of my concerns in a timely manner.

I was at my sisters in Jackson Ms visiting from Biloxi and waiting for her to come home. I hear a young man singing I look around it’s the worker on the garbage truck from Richard’s Disposal. The young man was hopping along like he enjoyed his job and enjoyed what he was doing. There was bags of trash across the street kind of spread out not in a container and he picked it up skipping along the street.

Just want to give a shout out to this young man for going to work and being cheerful 😄

The street the neighbors street is closed and dug up for construction. The garbage has been sitting out there for over 2 weeks. The driver of the truck refused both weeks to stop and pick it up. (The guys on the back of the truck are always good).
Another time one of the women who answered the phone at Richards was extremely rude and arguing over giving us a garbage can because they took our old one and she wanted to charge us.
Why does the City of New Orleans tolerate this?

And when the service changed from Waste Management to this current company, i have been irritated with the inconsistency and never knowing when the pickup will take place. If our scheduled days are on Monday and Thursday I'm expecting to see trash off of my street by Thursday night yet our neighborhood is still clutter with trash and it's Friday morning. I called the main office in New Orleans and she gave me a Jackson number that I can't get an answer at. What is really going on! I'm so sick of thos mess of not knowing exactly when they will collect our trash.

Never been easier to do your part; just make sure your recyclables are clean, label removed, and only glass goes to a separate area if you don't like to separate!

In those days drivers were constantly monitored and harassed for not driving faster and running the hoppers hard enough which resulted in a lot of spilled garbage in the streets and a lot of damage to garbage cans , due to being mishandled and carelessly thrown to the ground …and a lot of animosity and bad feelings from the hoppers.
Today , I see the drivers doing a great job and the hoppers are very very professional in the way they do the job .IV is , without a doubt , the best , most courteous and most professional service I have ever seen .

marty morehead rated it 1/5: Would give zero stars, went there to scrap a car battery but they refused to take it, said my U.S. Passport was not adequate ID, which i did not see any mention of having to hav an ID to recycle there, it was a waste of time

Eric Jurkowlaniec rated it 5/5: For anyone wondering, they do accept clean concrete dumping. As of 2/4/21, there was no charge for concrete disposal. Staff was helpful and everything seemed to run orderly. Water truck to help keep the dust under control. For a landfill, it is run well!

John Couret rated it 1/5: This has got to be the worst landfill within 50 miles. For starters the wait is over an hour on any given day. There’s literally 1 person taking the money even with a line of customers outside the yard and down the street there is ZERO urgency here. These people couldn’t care less how many hours you sit in their line. Once you do finally make it inside you have yet another line waiting for you because the guys at the tops of the hill are clueless and the guys working dozer are a joke. They sit in there machine and never clear paths so be prepared for nails in your tire 90% of the time. My advice would be to go to River Birch on the westbank. Same amount of vehicles gets through in a fraction of the time. This place is poorly managed by incompetent people. Fire these lazy people.
