By 2 pm his guys were at job site. Price was given and ok by me. They had the job done by 4 pm. The guys were great and even broom swept. The price was right. What else could you ask for. We spoke with Jose at Filco Carting 3:30 in the afternoon and he was able to get us a container delivered for 7:00AM the next morning. Jose was amazing! We were a first time customer and he treated us as if we were a customer with Filco for 10 years. He made us a priority. Jose is a true professional.
Alexander Martinez rated it 3/5: I rented 4 dumpsters with Filco, and have no complaints as far as scheduling containers. Everyone was polite and courteous over the phone as other reviews point out.. however, we had two inconveniences leading to this review.
One container was shipped with a repaired hinge which had broken again on us on-site. This lead to the door seizing us when we tried to get it closed, which was admittedly a minor inconvenience – we eventually found some construction debris that was strong enough to act as a lever to lift the door and close it properly for transport.

The greater inconvenience was a billing issue where we were charged for a 5th dumpster we never rented. It took a month to get the final credit for this overcharge back. There was also some confusion as to what was owed, as we were subject to overweight charges which we weren't billed for yet. When I had inquired about a discount for the repeat business, and the inconveniences noted, I was told we were approved for a credit on the final balance totaling two NYC 5 day dumpster permit charges, and I was given a credit amount to expect back net overweight charges.

Two weeks go by and no credit was issued, so I followed up. The billing department was supposedly just getting to it since it was the end of the month, and my credit would be issued in a few business days.

Another two weeks go by… so I follow up again. This time the credit was issued shortly after, but it was half of what I was originally told the month prior. So I follow up by email after digging through my billed receipts to try and make sense of why, and I received no response to my email after several days.

I call again, and am told I will receive the receipts of my charges and that everything will make sense. I never received the receipts and had to call again to follow up after a few days… they were apparently sent to the other e-mail on the account, only they weren't – I checked there before I called (yes, the spam box too).

Long story short, we were credited for one NYC 5 Day dumpster permit charge, and debited overweight charges for the last dumpster which was left out of the final credit amount I was told to expect back. When I reminded them we were approved for two permit charges as a credit from a Supervisor at Filco, I was told they would look into and get back to me… they didn't.

Given the pricing at Filco is competitive with other Dumpster rental companies in NYC, I would look around.

Richard De Mayo rated it 1/5: Today, 4/29/22 at 9 pm. The collectors picked up the dumpster by my house. They usually hook the dumpster back to the side so it won’t slide down onto the street. As they were leaving the premises, I ran to asked politely if they could put the dumpster back to where they picked it. One of the worker just looked at me, went back up to the truck and drove off. Do better ROYAL.

It is a 50/50 chance if drivers will actually come and collect our business's trash despite having weekly scheduled pickups. This results in our garbage being left out on the street overnight (or over the weekend) creating fines. Customer service seems friendly but it never actually makes a difference. If the drivers do actually show up and collect, they often only take half and leave the rest for whatever reason. Absolutely terrible service that has caused so many problems for our business and our employees

I call the company many times, but it’s a routine with them, step 1) ask for your address step 2) make it seem they are looking up your information step 3) tell you to take out both trash and recycling that same day and they will pick it up step 4) the next day, they’re both still there where you were told to leave them and step 5) trying to explain to the building landlord your garbage company is being unprofessional, and it’s not my business fault that both garbage and recycling is still there, wouldn’t it be easy for EVERYONE if you guys just do your job and actually pick up what I pay you for???????

Moved to Bensonhurst, years ago and still their was a level of pride that the sanitation workers had with the neighborhood they serviced.
Not the cast anymore. We as home owners should and do keep our property swept and put our trash containers on the street for easy access. Today I just witnessed a sanitation man throw the containers back to the street like a basketball after emptying. It's discusting. Not the first time. I used to stand out there when they came and said good morning and it was a different story. But I shouldnt have to.
Where is the pride in ones job? In the private sector I would be counciled and eventually fired for such conduct.
Lets raise the bar, start holding people accountable! I love Brooklyn but its times like this not so much!!

Jaime Aguilar rated it 1/5: Lazy sanitation workers. Came today to pick up the garbage across my street 84-18 102 Road. Dump and leave garbage on the middle of the road and kept going. Supervisor passed by and doesn't reported. Now I have garbage all over the middle of my street. The good sanitation workers are NOT there any more. They used to have a shovel and a broom to pick up any garbage on the street.

As of this time, I have 3 pails in my kitchen. 1 is for paper, 2 is for glass, tin and aluminum, 3 is for regular trash. #2 has to be rinsed . Fine. But I have to pay for the water to rinse my garbage. Now I need a 4th pail. I have nowhere to keep another pail. I’ve been very vigilant about recycling, but it’s getting to be too much. Is there going to be a penalty for not composting? I’m 82 years old and have to drag out all these pails to the curb. When is it going to be enough?

If you want to wake up your entire neighborhood and violate local noise ordinances, go ahead and hire these folks. They pick up from a business on N 5th and Berry in Williamsburg and make an obscene amount of noise for up to 20 minutes at 5:30 in the morning every week, routinely waking up me, my husband, and my infant son. This is actually an improvement—they used to pick up at 3 or 4 AM! I’ve already complained to the City and will be complaining to the local business that has contracted with them.

They were even able to provide a quote based on photos because I was in a tough spot. They sent two trucks and a team of six to ensure that everything was taken care of quickly and carefully, to the landlord’s satisfaction. The apartment was swept clean after the job was done. I continued shopping and eventually went with their reduced offer, which specifically stating "3 people and 1 truck." 2 people showed up over an hour late. Andrew and Angel were hard working efficient and courteous. The two of them struggled and strained to move the very heavy old piano down 1 flight of stairs. They remained upbeat and courteous and I gave them a tip for their effort. I then contacted Cleanout Express, to ask for a reduction in cost since I was paying for labor for 2 men not 3. Gus went on for some time about people not showing up for work and trouble parking and so forth. I explained the bottom line was that they charged me for labor for 3 people when only two showed up and asked for a simple reduction He told me he couldn't do that.
Andrew and Angel deserve a better employer.

I had to dispose of a LOT of 6' wire fence. Put it out, didn't see it picked up, follow up with an inquiry. Kristin (awesome) got right back to me and arranged separate pick up. Super fast, pleasant, professional. Had a second issue just this week, same great experience. Job done right, done fast, no hassles.

They arrived on time and the driver leaving the container was amazing. He was very friendly and waited for the space needed to place the container. The team who came in to help remove the items from our location was so professional. They were neat and organized and removed everything quickly and efficiently. I would use RTS again and so should you!!

Chuck Beardsley rated it 5/5: Maybe you can relate: Monday morning I'm laying around watching soccer and I hear the recycling truck-oh no-I didn't put out my stuff. I chase the truck down the street in my bathrobe but didn't catch them. My neighbor tells me I can call RTS recycling (number on the Scotch Plains Town Website) and they'll come back. NO WAY do I think this will work-but I called. They couldn't be nicer, showed up the next day to pick up my stuff, and then called me the next day to follow up to make sure it got picked up-best vendor our town has! So if you ever forget to put out your recycling there is hope. Love this company.
Dylan Neely rated it 1/5: On-demand service is a lie, at least in NY. Scheduled a pickup through their app, and included a detailed list of items with photos. Was then contacted via email by a customer rep who requested photos, which I resent via email. I was told that I'd receive a detailed quote and documents to sign shortly, and a hold was put on my credit card. I hadn't received a quote by that evening and the pickup was still listed as pending for the next morning. I received no response to follow-up emails and it took multiple phone calls to get through to someone. That person did try their best, but they had no dispatch available for the day when the pickup was scheduled, and I was then given a quote that was 4x the earlier estimate. A huge waste of my time, and an excellent example of tech bloat. In order to book, I needed to download a buggy app when I would have been happy to schedule over the phone or world wide web, and then that app allowed me to schedule a pickup that was never going to be possible. If I hadn't wasted an hour of my time explaining the situation to multiple reps over the phone in order to get connected to someone who could at least accurate assess the situation, the scheduled pickup time would have come and went without my ever hearing from them. There is still a hold on my credit card. Extraordinarily unprofessional conduct.

Christopher Williams rated it 1/5: This company should be ashamed of themselves. My family works hard to earn our money. We hired Boro Wide Recycling to provide us with a dumpster during our yard renovations. Here is how the company failed us on numerous occasions.
First, the dumpster arrived late despite the time that they said they would be here. Which impacted the time that our workers had to do their job. The entire project was at a standstill while we awaited the dumpster from this “three generation” old company to drop off their dumpster. For years we have done work at our residence and never have worked with such unprofessional people.

Secondly, as if costing people time and money wasn’t enough, the company is trying to STEAL from me. I am currently disputing an EXTRA $600 charge that they are trying to charge me claiming that the dumpster was filled over capacity. Which is a complete lie. The dumpster wasn’t even half full when they picked it up.

Listen, I don’t normally write reviews, but, If I can save someone the headache and time from dealing with incompetent thieves it’s all worth it. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

Even supervisors here are extremely disgusting and inhuman to speak to you the way they do! I have no idea who they think they are to blame people for losing papers and to make rude comments and favor others for the same! I found a better job now thankfully but if i can go back, I would contact the DOL for discrimination and you know who you are!
