  • Orion Lumiere rated it 5/5: They were very responsive, and they honored an online coupon even though I had trouble booking online and I had to order the service via text. It was very easy to order the service via text. They came when they said they would, they communicated consistently, and they let me know when they were on their way. They were friendly and the fee came in under their estimate. They even took these two heavy old window air conditioning units and didn’t charge extra. I gave them a tip because I was so happy with their service. I would definitely order them again and recommend them. One note, they do not do self-serve dumpsters in the ZIP Code 97233 (Portland OR). But it turns out it would’ve been a hassle to put in a dumpster myself anyway. I recommend just letting their strong young men haul it away!
  • Mardy Widman rated it 5/5: The guys were great. First of all, they loved my pup and made certain that he enjoyed their company. They were respectful of my needs, were efficient and easy to work with. I didn’t bother to get any other estimates. They explained their rate structure. It seemed reasonable. I’m happy to have the junk removed. I would use them again
  • Susan Alexander rated it 5/5: We needed a lot of boxes and packing material, as well as misc. items removed. We were extremely pleased with this business. They were on time, gave a very reasonable quote and worked very efficiently. They even vacuumed the garage when they were done. The best part, honestly, was Jose. He was friendly, professional and did a great job! We have used other junk removal companies in the past years and this definitely was the best experience. We will definitely use them again if needed in the future.
  • Joy Marsalla rated it 5/5: Great Job, and Professional!! The team came out, gave me a quote, and got the work done within 3 hours, while we’ve wanted weeks to find the right helpful match! This job was too big and took too much time for my partner and I without a big truck and trailer (we tried…too costly in the bed of a small truck!) – but with a crew of two and their HUGE truck they got it DONE! Thank you for your professionalism, clear communication and efficiency – I’d recommend them to anyone who needs junk (or in our case, backyard construction debris) removed! See photos for before and after which speak for themselves! 🙂

Kristina Ott rated it 5/5: I called with a question about my bill and next pick up date. Jenna Heston did a great job of answering both. She was professional and helpful. She even was willing to ask how I could go about disposing of an old hot tub. They have been my garbage service for years. I have always been treated kindly by the staff, including the drivers on my route. I have never had an issue getting service changed, replacement for missing glass bin, or pick up.

  • Alesha Pereira rated it 5/5: Dana in customer service, answered customer service with a smile I could hear. Quickly helped me navigate my account and wished me a pleasant day and weekend. Great service, nice people. Thank you, AP Since I cannot leave two reviews, wanted to comment on the North Portland pick up crew. Nice folks, they wave back and often pull over a little so I can sneak by and head into the office…very considerate! I can also tell by they way they operate around the morning dog walkers, safety is important in the company culture. Well done team!
  • Lysdestic rated it 5/5: I moved into a new house just over a month ago and meant to leave this review sooner, but moving is hard! The previous owner was "kind" enough to leave me a full bin of trash that wouldn't be picked up for another 2 weeks. I spoke with Jessica W and was treated with the most patient and understanding kindness I could have hoped for. She helped me out with waiving fees for additional bags so that we could discard our trash on our next pick up. Thanks for all your help Jessica and Arrow!
  • Sandra Williams rated it 5/5: Excellent service! Superb customer relations! It's not often that one encounters the kind of attention that I received today from Arrow's Jessica Worden, the service representative, who provided exceptional care and attention to my questions when I phoned to inquire about confusing information in my last invoice. Jessica spent time on the phone with me, made changes to the account that will prove useful in the future, and spoke with others in the office to clarify matters that proved difficult for either of us to understand. She is a great customer service person! I commend her for attention and polite treatment today. Great employee.

  • Jonathan Widmark rated it 5/5: I rarely take the time to do surveys or write up reviews, but I have to give a huge shout out to the customer service that I received today. Jessica Worden is the single-most helpful customer service representative that I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to for any of my utilities. She was patient with me and clearly and kindly answered each of my questions. I am an amateur homeowner on my best day. Jessica really listened to me, and was able to clearly interpret my needs. Through this she recommended the option of drop boxes, explained the details, and even emailed me some additional info to help.

You know when you are in so far over your head that you don't even know the right questions to ask? Have you ever had somebody that takes the time to explain everything so well that a toddler could understand, and they do so without making you feel completely incompetent?

    Me neither. Not until today.

To Jessica: Thank you so much for the support!

To Waste Connections: Hold on to this one!

Katie Vaughan rated it 3/5: I used River City Environmental based on a recommendation and could not be more displeased with the service provided. I'm only giving 2 stars because the man who performed the service was kind. I was charged more than $500 to solely inspect a root problem; no actual work was done to help the issue. Then I was told the excavation team would be in touch. It has been 3 weeks and no one has bothered calling me – you can't even flush my toilet or use the laundry because of the overgrown roots – and today I received a charge to my credit card without even receiving an invoice. If you need a company that will respond and solve your issue quickly, go with OC drain. **UPDATE: The customer service team apologized and refunded part of the cost**

  • Kaarin Bohrnsen rated it 5/5: Everyone worked really hard on this project. They decommissioned two septic tanks and a water tank buried deep in the yard. More then expected. They ran into some issues, not their fault, but the city miss marked the lines. They cleared up the issue quickly. Very polite and friendly. Went above and beyond to clean up yard debris and even a tree I had cut down. They dirt is left smooth and flat ready for planting new grass. Over all I agree they did a great job. Thank you.
  • Tyler Foley rated it 5/5: Showed up on time and prepared. The operator was personable and quick to catch on the process and lend a hand. The operator made a suggestion that improved our process, made it safer, as well as save time! These guys are industry experts and I look forward to working with River City Environmental in the future.
  • Alinka Malinka rated it 5/5: Did an amazing striping job at my apartment property. They were very professional and quick, guys for sure know what they were doing. Been scheduling striping work only with them☺️ Thank you Again

  • Pat Dieringer rated it 1/5: I have used River City Environmental for many years on a variety of jobs. Recently, however, they decided to NOT charge my credit card for the amount that I had signed for at the end of the work at the job site. Instead of the $290.00 invoice for which I signed, they charged my credit card $1,062.15! They admitted to an error in the material cost but stuck with the increased labor charges as well as a brand new fuel surcharge that was not on the invoice I signed. I even sent the accounting department a photo I had of the tech's computer screen that was the only "invoice" they could give me. The $290.00 job ended up costing me $350.40.
To be clear, the repair work performed was fine, and very timely. Their current invoicing system and accounting department are not to be trusted. It is is bothersome to feel like this company does not value a repeat customer after so many years.

Tashina Lowry rated it 5/5: Five stars for keeping the ECR property absolutely spotless!!! You have an Associate who is out every morning working to keep your entire block spotless. I drive by the area every morning during the week and I see him and I wanted to give a shout out to say Thank You! He's always moving, working and with a smile on his face. It's something worth recognizing in appreciation.

Most relevant reviews:

  • Missy Padilla Runyon rated it 5/5: We feel so fortunate to have ECR in our neighbourhood. We recycle/reuse/reduce as much as we can, but some things just have to be discarded. I love that they break down and recycle what we can't, like mattresses and textiles. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rates are very reasonable.

  • Richard Gagne' rated it 4/5: This place was friendly & helpful. After the first weight of my van was taken , I had 2 back up in order 2 leave the mattress/boxsping. Be careful not to get too close to the big metal bins. Other than that it was an easy in & out.
  • Rachael B rated it 3/5: Well , wonderful customer service. I wish that the place was bigger of course, and the dirt road that you drive through to get to the place where you dump your stuff at, lots of ruts to drive through and when you want to pull into weight your vehicle and the garbage you have, you have to back up out of it. Other than that wonderful customer service, very friendly people and I tell you what , they do a great job of working and they're never on their behind"s. They're always working , that's for sure. 😊
  • Dustin Moon rated it 1/5: It appears like it started out as a good idea, then greed took over. They charge just as much as Metro Transfer yet the place is a 'dump' (both figuratively and literally).

You weigh in, you have to pull onto, then back up off of the scale (there is no pull through).

Very chaotic with passenger trucks and semi trucks using the same small poorly designed entrance.

The owners putting some (or any) money back into this business does not appear to have occurred in a long time.

23MacT rated it 5/5: Wow this place is cheap! I've been going to Hillsboro for years and now I will never go back there. This place is literally half the price! Thank you Metro Transfer station for the great service

Most relevant reviews:

  • Jason English rated it 5/5: This place is a real dump! Actually, the crew here has it moving along pretty efficiently and it's not nearly as stinky as you might expect, so I would say it's a better dump than most cities, when you need to get rid of assorted items.

  • Travis Ristick rated it 5/5: I frequently visit this establishment just so I can throw things out of the back of my truck for fun. If you can stomache the foul stench of this place, dumping garbage can be extremely therapeutic. Staff is helpful, professional, and friendly enough.
  • John Bowers rated it 5/5: Compare on a Sunday. It was hardly busy at all. Got rid of my debris and was on my way very quickly
  • Brian Hensley rated it 4/5: Your biggest problem is people need more spots like this in other cities. Please open more locations. Come closer to Beaverton, Tigard, Aloha and Hillsboro.

Better yet, partner with Agilyx for styrofoam recyclabling. Offer trash bins that people can get dropped off for CHEAP. If you dropped one off for $100… You'd beat out WM by a lot!

The owner, Simon, is truly amazing and is the most honest and kindhearted business owner I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He and his team, Tye (sp?), Jesus and Jacob were absolutely phenomenal! They made sure I was comfortable with every step of the process, treated my home with great care and never got mad when I would change my mind and ask that they move a heavy item back downstairs when they had just brought it up stairs. They were a blast to work with and kept me laughing most of the day. They truly went above and beyond all of my expectations and I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Metro Junk Solutions. WM – Oregon Healthcare Solutions is a healthcare provider that offers a variety of services to its patients. The most common themes expressed in reviews of WM – Oregon Healthcare Solutions are that the staff is friendly and helpful, the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the overall experience is positive.

민우람 rated it 1/5: Other companies charge around $250 for every week pick up. WM Charges me $550 for every other week pick. For the same size dumpster. Do you understand this????

Most relevant reviews:

  • Shelby Fleck rated it 5/5: The drivers are helpful and friendly, they have been really nice when i run out last minute with my can. They are consistent in time of pick up (which you would think would stop me from having to run out last minute, but what can i say, I'm a slow learner) and communicate well through email if pick up is going to be delayed
  • Jonathan Eyestone rated it 3/5: If the driver won't make it you are stuck holding the bag for 2 more weeks. They do not do extra pick ups and do not come to get your trash more that 2 a month. Sure they won't bill you for the extra trash on the next pick up, but where am I supposed to put 2 week worth of extra trash, on the side of the road? I have received "weather" delays on 60 degree sunny days. No refund, no extra pick up.
  • Elizabeth R. Bain rated it 2/5: WM does a good job with actual service, but has provided no rational explanation for opposing Ridwell (this makes no sense, since I pay extra for it and Ridwell takes materials WM should not, such as lightbulbs and batteries) and other supplemental recycling services. WM has provided zero information about what percentage of items in recycling bins are ACTUALLY recycled (vs. being dumped in landfills) and no information ever about how they are working to expand markets for recyclables or expand which items can be recycled. In my city they have a monopoly contract for garbage in my neighborhood that I cannot opt out of or choose another provider. If it were not a monopoly, I bet providers would strive to put less into landfills and more into the secondary goods market or into the recyclables markets. I'm disappointed they have taken a political position against Ridwell to allegedly protect their own interests while failing to advocate for more and better recycling and re-use services.
  • Jon Marc Dangaran rated it 1/5: I have never left a review for any company before today.
Waste Management took our garbage can without warning a month ago, and we have since been paying for this service without ability to store garbage and pickup. Multiple times WM has pushed back the scheduled delivery (return) of our cans. Yesterday I spoke to customer service and they said we are prioritized to receive cans today. Cans never came so I called customer service and they let me know it was pushed back, not another day, or 2 days, but an entire week. With biweekly garbage collection in our area, that means we are at 6 weeks and counting without the service we are paying for.
It’s an interesting industry where companies have a legal monopoly, then obviously benefit from cost savings from limited customer service since customers don’t have alternative options.
    Hope this resolves soon..

Overall, reviewers say that Portland Disposal and Recycling is a great company that is doing a great service for the community.

Daniel Gold rated it 1/5: Family-owned business used to mean something. These guys are lousy at customer service. Including rental, small-business, and personal house I have at least 5 accounts with them. Twice now, our accounts have been shut off b/c autopay wasn't clicked for each individual account. When asked to return to grab the recycling "Sorry can't waive the $10 fee." Really!? Either empower your employees to do the right thing or stop calling yourself a small family business. Get real! (Plus a little salty that they routinely wake my kids up before 6 am grabbing garbage which I think is illegal from a noise/nuisance ordinance, but oh well.) I hope someone at Portland Disposal reads this and cares.

Most relevant reviews:

  • Gianncarlo Cargni rated it 5/5: I am happy with our dumpster rental. Fast service and I enjoy working with a local company. I will definitely use them again.

I was able to order my dumpster and have it delivered the very next day!

  • Krista Wojciechowski rated it 5/5: Their team is the best! I've had to call a couple of times (new service, change of garbage can) and the person who helped me was absolutely wonderful. I never thought I'd be laughing on a call with the garbage company, but it was the highlight of my Monday! Thank you for having such a fantastic team, especially for the residential calls!
  • Daniel Gold rated it 1/5: Family-owned business used to mean something.
  • Patrick Zeller rated it 1/5: Just a homeowner forced to use them. I’ve had many issues with them (passive aggressive notes about extra bags which the website details a process for, followed by intentionally dumping my trash/recycling all over my driveway in the rain, and later kicking down my mailbox, refusing to take trash on some days without any reasons). They’re an embarrassment to the city. Maybe hire new workers or pay them better? Idk. But wow does this company stick out as poor when compared with counterparts in other cities
  • Dawn Chacon rated it 1/5: Our garbage frequently gets missed. Everyone on street gets there’s done. Driver lies about already picking up or it not being out there. 2 weeks in a row now and supervisor not getting driver out to fix!
Yet bill not changed. So paying for service we are not receiving.

They are absolutely the best grease trap cleaning company we have ever used. They have great customer service and are quick to respond to emergencies. They are also very affordable. We highly recommend them!
  • Linda McBrearty rated it 5/5: This is the best company and the best price for the work! NW Biofuel services and prices were wonderful! Micheal did a fabulous job and gave me great service! Thanks Micheal! Thanks Biofuel! I so appreciate you in this challenging industry. You’re the best!

  • Kai-Li K. Spencer rated it 5/5: Great experience! Their CSR who set my appointment was wonderfully informative, helpful, and kind. Michael was early for our appointment and was AMAZING. So nice, prompt, and professional while still delightfully personable. Will definitely be using them again for future service.

  • Wildside Photography rated it 1/5: On November 30, around 10:00 AM, I was driving north on Interstate Ave. A NW Biofuel truck was behind me and was weaving around other traffic to get ahead. When I was about 50 yards from the red light at the intersection of N Larabee and N Interstate, the truck changed from the center through lane into the right-turn only lane and rapidly accelerated to get in front of me. When the driver was broadside to my right, he began to merge left into the through lane. I had to take rapid evasive action to avoid being side-swiped. His action forced me to rapidly move left into the left turn lane to avoid a collision. He did not use turn signals during any of his maneuvers.

If you value safe drivers on Portland area roads, and believe courtesy not only relates to the service you receive when the representative is inside your establishment, I suggest you find a different company to do business with in the future.

NW Biofuel apparently does not requires its drivers to obey the rules of the road or act in a responsible manner when driving.

Becca T rated it 5/5: Always nice to visit here, new selection of plants every time I'm here and I can't help but bring some home each time. My only complaint is how customers don't follow obviously posted signs, but they're kindly reminded to follow them by employees (((thank you for keeping us safe!))).

  • Dava Morrison rated it 5/5: Been coming to this place a few times a year. Great prices, good products. Usually dump off my yard debris and pick up at the same time. From entering this place, greeted by the positive staff, talking to the yard guys, always have a great experience. Had a delivery 2x, the prices are reasonable compared to other quotes.

  • Patrick Parr rated it 5/5: If you need to get rid of yard debris, wood, soil, or rock, or get soil, mulch, compost, or chips, thos is a good place to go. No garbage or trash accepted but you can recycle your plastic plant pots there.
  • S. Bal rated it 2/5: Good service and price, however, I bought their blended soil for my garden boxes and it is not good. The plants in the box that has only the soil from WWM are all shriveled and dying, the plants in the box which is only filled halfway with their soil and amended with store bought soil and compost are doing great. Point being, if you purchase garden soil from here, make sure you amend it with bags of nutrient filled garden or potting soil and/or compost, you cannot use this soil on its own to grow veggies.
  • Jessica Therkelsen rated it 1/5: On October 1, 2019 Wood Waste Management delivered mulch to my driveway and ripped off a 14 foot limb of my Japanese maple tree that was more than 10 feet above the ground. Other deliveries made to our driveway with similar trucks have had no problem avoiding the tree in the past because they had the wherewithal to put the bed of the truck down before driving off. We have repeatedly called over the past week and the company has not apologized, not reimbursed us any amount, has ignored multiple calls and when finally did put a manager on the phone they are blatantly rude and will not begin to hold a conversation. I highly advise not using this company, as they seem to think a limited liability waiver means they can be completely negligent and rude to their customers.
