He provided me with a wealth of knowledge regarding my system as well as my coverage of parts for the a/c unit. He and his parts department representative (Billy) were able to get me a new blower motor blazing fast. Stephen came back later that day to replace the part and also made notes of other things that weren't operating properly. Those parts were ordered quickly and he returned a few days to install a new compressor on the outside unit. Stephen had my system back up and running quickly even with our recent heatwave of weather. The experts at Strand Brothers always deliver top notch service and work with your schedule to get the job done. I am on one of their protection plans which is extremely valuable when parts fail not to mention their scheduled maintenance throughout the year. When it comes time to replace my a/c unit I will be sticking with these guys and keeping the protection plan. It is so much better working directly with these guys instead of a home warranty program where they drag their feet and contract sub-par service companies. We were having some issues with the downstairs zone of our two zone AC system. The morning of, prior to investigating myself, I scheduled an apt with Strand Brothers in the situation I couldn't fix it myself.

After cycling the circuit and eyeballing some of the components, the system kicked back on and seemed to be functional again – however given this didn't seem like a super viable long term solution, I kept the apt to have a professional check it out.

Tech arrived with another person, whom I later learned to be a sales person. They cut open my plenum – manually forced open my dampers and gave my a 4k quote to replace the plenum both damper motors and some duct-work. In the process – making my previously functioning system totally kaput. Beyond this – leaving live electrical wires to the damper motors uncovered and unsheathed in our attic adjacent to wood framing.

Both zones are now wildly off relative to the thermostat temperature – but in their words, "at least you have cool."

After discovering the cut-open plenum we requested someone to come out and re-seal it. The tech whom came out refused to plug the electrical wiring back in for fear it would just close the dampers and he'd have to come out again. This wasn't a super cool answer as we still have unsealed wires in our attic which they refuse to do anything about. We sent out an email to their customer service, which they promptly ignored and called the next day asking for someone to do something about this mess.

They put us in touch with our 3rd tech, who didn't actually make it out but verbally berated me for going cavalier by cycling my power to get my system running again – as I'm not an HVAC professional. As an engineer by trade, I'm relatively aware of the risks of fire from even low-voltage exposed wiring – the 3rd tech proceeded to laugh at me for citing my concern about firing risk over the exposed electrical.

All in all – after investing hours arguing with these guys over cratering our HVAC system, my wife and I conceded we weren't making meaningful progress and have since filed a charge back with our CC – as Strand brothers has refused to respond to our emails and calls requesting a refund of their mandatory $99 service fee (over which they broke our system).

Attaching some photos of the situation as evidence that this company really made our HVAC lives awful.

I'm eagerly awaiting a yelp reply from them citing, "sorry about your experience, please email us at CustomerService@ServiceE… with your name and address," which they'll promptly send to their junk folder.

Stan's was on-time and communicated well with us.They picked up equipment at Ferguson's for us, since we don't own a truck. Overall, Stan's did a great job and employs good people.

They were timely and efficient and sent text notifications when their workers were on the way with details of who was coming out. Darin, the project manager, worked with us to get a great price for the install of a complete new unit. Then a week later when an old dampner part went bad, Mickey, the field supervisor went above and beyond to take care of us and repair it at their expense when they were not obligated to do so.

Dex Quinn rated it 1/5: I went to their webpage and they claim to be able to work on all and any water softeners. After their technician arrive, the first thing out of his mouth was "I've never seen nothing like this before". That gave me a bad feeling right from the start. I googled it, and I could tell him what the problem was. Then he started quoting prices, to do guess work on my unit. He took a picture of the standing water in my salt tank, and texted it to his boss to see if he could help. The point I'm making is, Stan's knowingly sent out an under-qualified technician to do work on my water softener. They charged me $97.00 for nothing! I called the supervisor on duty and all he had to say was "we don't know how to work on everything". I would call that false advertisement, based on their website. What bothered me most, the supervisor wasn't at all concerned about customer service. I would not recommend them for nothing. Stan's is the worst plumbing service, I've ever used!

Our AC unit quit working and Scott was very thorough in diagnosing the issue, explaining what needed to be done, and then promptly fixing it.
For anyone who has had their AC unit quit during a Texas August, you know how thankful we are that he was able to get our unit fixed and cooling again.

Definitely recommend Fox to anyone who asks and would certainly recommend requesting Scott as your technician because he is certainly knowledgeable and provides great service.

He’s a great technician and deserves a raise. This was a 3 month project and he was basically my main point of contact through it all. 5 stars for sure.

They installed our new HVAC system less then 7 years ago. It failed and we called them again. After testing it was determined that the compressor needed to be replaced, luckily it was still covered by warranty. However, just the 3-hour job by a single tech costed nearly $3K, that's a $1K/hr. BTW, the national average for this job is about half of this.

We had 7 companies come out to our house to provide estimates and they were the only company that actually came into the home and measured our rooms to ensure they planned our HVAC system in the best way possible to evenly distribute the air.
Every visit they made to our house for inspections or to do the work, they were extremely prompt, professional and friendly. The communication was great from everyone on their team and I always felt like I understood where we were in the process.

They were the only providers who informed us of the Home Performance Program which saved us thousands of dollars in rebates. We were able to get a top of the line HVAC system for what others would charge us for a mid-grade system. AND they even came and sealed up all of our doors and plumbing to ensure the house was properly sealed.

Lastly, after their service was complete we received a box of Tiff’s Treats as a thank you for using their services. We were already thrilled with everything they provided, but they really went the extra mile.

Hands down best service provider I’ve ever hired!! Special thanks to Chris for his help with the estimates, inspections and everything in between.

They were able to get a service tech out to my house same day. Joel was very upfront and honest about what he found and walked me through my options. He also took extra time to make sure I was going to be set up for the next steps. During the entire visit, I never felt confused, in the dark, and that I was being hard sold anything. McCullough has won a customer for sure!

Jimmy, was a consummate, pro, extremely experienced, had great people skills and patience. He inspected every aspect of the work that had been done and spent a lot of time explaining how the unit worked, and in great detail how the thermostat functioned. He went above and beyond to provide good customer service, and we greatly appreciate that.
An excellent experience. How often does one make a large purchase, given a reasonable price, have a terrific installation experience, everything being on time, and with a good attitude. I can’t recommend this company highly enough beginning with Herman who made it all happen. He went through every step of the process ahead of time, explaining the cost, and exactly what would happen and believe it or not that is just what took place. He was informative, honest and easy to deal with. In addition, the crew that came out to do the work which was led by Ian were equally as accommodating, nice and efficient. They were all pros from start to finish. I have had a tremendous amount of work done on homes, automobiles, etc. in my lifetime, and could only have dreamed of them going as smoothly as this project has.

I called and got scheduled for an appointment quickly. The Technician (Lenny Rivera) showed up on time, was professional, and knowledgeable about his work. He performed the service and (thankfully) NO leaking detected! The process was easy and seamless and he even gifted me a cute stuffed dog and a flashlight! Will definitely call if I need service in the future! Highly recommended!

I have joined their "Sadi" club and am very glad I did. VERY pleased with the customer service. Great company – obviously concerned about customer service and hiring quality people. LOVE IT. Eric was very pleasant and informative about our system. He completed the inspection including cleaning the coils of our A/C unit in about an hour. He also provided us with suggestions on improvements we could make for better air quality without any pushy sales pitch. Overall, a great experience.
Kerry Grace rated it 5/5: Our system reported a 13 limit lockout message on Saturday morning. Within an hour of calling, Rudy was here working on it. He tried various fixes, ended up having to leave cause the part he needed wasn’t on his truck. He had lunch with another tech, he had the part on his truck. So Rudy came back installed the part. He was here probably 4 hours total, including the second visit to install the part.
He called us the next day to follow up that all was working.
We’ve used Precision since we moved into this house. They installed the system in ‘16. We purchased the 10 year maintenance package, and it’s paid for itself.
I recommend Precision. All of their techs are prompt, courteous and professional. This last experience with Rudy has been extra good. Why do systems always need work on the weekend?

Olivia Devall rated it 4/5: I first called Precision for a second estimate on a circuit board replacement for our heat pump. The tech was able to come out the same day which was very nice. They also offer their second estimates for free. The tech checked the entire system and found more than just a circuit board issue. We had mold growing inside the air handler and freon leaking from coils. The first company we had come out, Stan’s Heating and Air, failed to find or just didn’t show us any of these other issues. We ended up replacing the unit. It arrived and was replaced within several days. The two technicians that replaced it were friendly however they did leave a little bit of a mess. They also forgot to screw the cover back on that exposes the fan blades. I called the office and they had the techs quickly
return to clean up and fix everything. Over pleased with the service. Company was always responsive to any questions and concerns.

It was over 18,000 dollars which I understand that is the going rate. For months I have been worried about one unit making a lot of noise. There is a weird smell coming from the vents. I reached out to Omar many times. He would send a guy out and supposedly nothing wrong. Always excuses.
Finally American standard distributors were nice enough to come out.
Not only did I have a bad compressor that Omar finally admitted to.
I had torn ducts from a rodent problem from over 5 years ago. When they replaced the unit they did not inspect the ducts. Abc has been in the crawl space numerous times. I even had a check up a couple of weeks ago. No mention of torn ducts.
My family has been breathing bad air for a year.
I trust American Standard. They have treated me right.
But, Omar with ABC is not trustworthy.
He would not even get back to me after American Standard team figured out the problem.
There is even more to the story.
But hopefully this shows enough red flags that save someone the same headache.
Be careful of 5 star reviews meant for ABC home and commercial.
I have seen reviews meant for the primal good service ABC.

I loved that A-Plus is a locally-owned Austin provider and will definitely continue to work with them for any future needs.

Matt Brown rated it 3/5: ABC HVAC techs are top notch, I 100% trust them and usually take them up on their suggestions. Unfortunately, the front office is not as good. Recently my AC went out while it was still hot out, so I called the office (it was a Friday) and asked if a tech could come out. They called me back as the office was closing and scheduled something for the following Monday…So I called Fox and they were out within a few hours. Fox told me my AC was shot and would need a replacement, and gave me a quote on the spot. Stan's was able to come out on Saturday and give a quote. By the time Monday rolled around, I had already gotten quotes and scheduled installers for Tuesday. ABC finally came out on Monday and confirmed the system was shot (again, I trust ABC techs and wanted them to confirm). But then they couldn't get someone out for a quote until Tuesday — again I already had installers ready to come out on Tuesday.
So the end of this saga is that I have a new AC system — not from ABC, so I call the ABC office to cancel my service contract with them. I get the spiel about "priority scheduling" and my points I've saved up with them. Unfortunately, the priority scheduling didn't help me. They said someone would call me within 24 hours to confirm the cancellation. A week went by so I called back — and after listening to the sales pitch about why I shouldn't cancel, was told I wouldn't be getting a refund. Oh well, that sucks — but I have another company looking after my AC now.

ABC techs are some of the best techs I've ever encountered — but I can't recommend the company because of how disconnected the office is.
