The estimate ended up coming out a good bit above my budget as we have a 8 month old and running a small business as well. After explaining this they told me the amount they would take for my budget. Super grateful they were willing to work with my budget.

However it wasn't what I expected. Instead of taking the items they said they could for my budget they still ended up removing 95% of the original waste they quoted for. I was beside myself that a company like this would be so caring and compassionate. They responded with "We wanted to help out a bit more amd make sure things are comfortable for your family"

People don't do that anymore. They care about the dollar and what little effort they can put in to get that. NOT Junk King. They went above and beyond and will forever more be my go to for any and all waste removal.

Was on his phone a bit and didn't like my fussing about being a day and 2 hours late. It's OK, the others made up for him. I'm disappointed in the communing between answering service and movers. I'm glad it's done. I worked in logistics and customer service. I say what I do and do what I say in business and life.

I called multiple times that afternoon and the next day and the customer service reps were not able to get hold of the owner (Chase) until late Monday morning. He called, told me it was an issue with their scheduling system, offered a 25% discount and was able to finally get the dumpster dropped off that Tuesday. After pick-up I received my invoice and of course, was charged the full amount. I’ve since engaged customer service and the owner directly, still awaiting response and it's been over a week.
The service reps were all nice, and it’s great being able to connect with them easily over the phone, but what should have been a simple transaction has taken hours out of my week, and required me to reschedule work and personal events. Junk King's scheduling errors and lack of follow through has been disappointing.

They ignored our original request to cancel service, so I submitted again and they are giving me such a hard time with it that it's just unbelievable. I'm sure they will try and charge us for something. Don't recommend.. Just our experience.

I've sent three messages through their app. I spent 30 minutes on hold waiting to speak to someone. All this after my trash rate has gone from $84/quarter to $181/quarter. Cancelled after all this. Smaller local competitors are charging $84/quarter for trash. That's $400 in savings per year compared to Waste Connections.

Called and questioned about it being so high, so they put a discount on our account for this quarter. A month later they send a bill saying I owe the discount for the quarter that they gave me the discount on. Always late. Never call and let you know when they won't make it. Noone ever answers the phone. If you call you better have at least an hour or 2 to wait on hold. Their the only trash provider for our area, so they have you bent over a barrel and they know it. Better off burning your own trash than using this company. Very unprofessional, Very lazy and greedy. Their worse than a used car salesman.

Christian Gribble rated it 1/5: Recently discovered that I've been paying well over the going rate for trash and recycling in shady hollow. $354 for quarterly service, 1 trash can and 1 recycling cart.
Spoke to a supervisor and was able to lower my rate to $184 quarterly, which is still very high. No concessions were made for the over billing of previous quarters.

I paid $354 quarterly for 5 quarters. Some of that was probably justified b/c of fuel prices, but clearly, Waste Connections didn't lower the price as fuel prices came down.

I had to call and complain, or they would still be charging me an inflated rate. Customer service could not have cared less about retaining me as a customer.

I cancelled.

I'm a cautionary tale of direct draft. It was easy to lose track of, and if the company doesn't monitor themselves for price gauging, then the consumer pays.

Good luck everyone. Watch your money b/c no one else will.

I called, but the receptionist would not give me information because their contract was with my apartment management. I've contacted apartment management multiple times. They've contacted the company. Still nothing. It's very strange, because the also pick up from our big dumpster and four recyclable bins, and those pick-ups are happening.

The fact that myself (and so many others) have gone through the effort to review a place where people take their trash should really be all you need to know. However, I’ll go ahead and elaborate. My experience with Duke’s was, dare I say, delightful? The folks working there were friendly, happy, and SO HELPFUL. Had I wanted to just sit in my car and let them do all the work I could have.

These people even went through the effort to sweep/shovel all the leaves and junk off my trailer AND THEN pulled out a leaf blower!! They made not even a grumble or eye roll at my request that was largely aesthetic. This was like the VIP treatment of trash dumping.

If you’re not already sold on their outstanding service quality let me tell you about their prices. I compared a variety of places and Duke’s is certainly one of the best price points (if not THE best). When I pulled up they gave me a ~$150-$210 quote for what was essentially an extended truck bed heaping full of ‘light construction’ trash. Some of my stuff was odd shaped so I was concerned about how they would judge the exact volume. The price I ultimately paid was even lower than the low end of the quote. They packed stuff in pretty well and I felt like the end price was extremely fair and a good deal, especially considering the service.
B D rated it 5/5: All that hand sanitizer they had last fall? I took as many gallons as I could carry because you can pour it in a bowl and set it on fire. The alcohol burns without making smoke so it can be used to heat a tent or a cardboard box or whatever one might be sheltering in…

I want to say that Kelly, the owner, knows how to run a business and how to pick the BEST people to work for her! Nicole, who did my scheduling, was so sweet and very helpful. I will absolutely call them again when it comes time to help my parents clean out their house for when they begin their remodel. Call them ASAP for anything you need to get rid of. So easy. 🙂

I called to schedule on a Sunday morning at 10:30a, was told I would get a call "shortly". By 1pm same day, had not heard from local manager to schedule, so I called back – they gave me a window from 7p- 9p. I paid to secure that slot. I had zero communication until 9pm that night, where they still had not shown up. After 9pm, I finally received a notification that they were 50 minutes away. I cancelled – I asked multiple times for a time expectation and for them to give me a heads up that they were on their way.

I did receive a full refund – so not all was lost.

Bryan Goldsmith rated it 5/5: I don't know why CTR has bad reviews. I have used them for over 5 years and have never had a bad experience with them. Maybe I just have the best driver. Our location has a dumpster year round and we know that somethings they can't take like hazardous material and wood pallets. The dumpster enclosure has never been damaged and they pick up the trash on time. Customer service has always been nice and I really never have to think about them all too much. That's how good they are.

CTR has been our dumpster company for over 2 years. We run a custom furniture company where we build about a hundred custom wood furniture pieces each year. We rent a 6 yard box that is supposed to be serviced every week. Over the last year they have had several instances where they didn't service our container because of wood scraps placed in the dumpster. The salesman who set up our account walked through our business and clearly understood the types of items that would be going into our container. Sometime over the last year they have decided to find any reason to not service our container. I've attached photos of the latest (and last) situation. The largest piece of wood sticking up was 23" x 6".
When I terminated the service they were gracious enough to tell me I wouldn't have to pay a penalty!!! Something has happened to this company over the last year. They are not taking care of their customers as promised. They had no problems losing my business to TDS who will be servicing our container for about 60% of our previous rate.

Shani Keren rated it 1/5: this company has made my time living in austin an absolute nightmare on earth. being woken up every single day between 3-5am with a jump scare will mess you up. there are city noise ordinances that they don’t comply with. they told me on the phone they only start picking up trash at 7am. what bold faced lie. to the person who writes responses on these reviews, save it and don’t ask me where and when this happened. every day, all over the city clearly if you can read your other reviews. answer your phones, comply with the city, and just be a decent company and don’t have your drivers start work at 3am in general, problem solved.

The Austin Community Landfill is a great place to take your trash. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. The landfill is clean and well-maintained, and the views are amazing. You can see for miles from the top of the landfill. I highly recommend the Austin Community Landfill to anyone looking for a great place to dispose of their trash.

They refused to acknowledge this happened and of course refused to pay for damages. This was a few years ago and now that I have made rank in my company, I always always always make sure to never select Waste Management for my jobs. Since then I have done 9 commercial jobs anywhere from 1 mil to 25 mil in total project cost. I guess what comes around goes around.

Lon Meeks rated it 5/5: 192 dollars is the minimum you will pay to dump here even if it's 1 bag. 60 per ton… 2 ton minimum plus fees. It feels like extortion and makes me understand why people that can't afford this fee dump stuff in ally ways and the aides of the road.

Jackie Morgan rated it 1/5: After needing to cancel my service due to the increase in fees, extra charges for your dumpster lid being one inch opened claiming it to be overly full, the harassment for wanting to cancel and the 4000 dollar cancellation fee with only five months left in the contact I received I'm disgusted. I've been a loyal customer for ten year and I will make sure to let people know about the service I received and will not be recommending WM to anyone I know.
