They were very late, outside of my scheduled window, but they were very communicative about that throughout the day. And when they got there, the service was quick and professional. No complaints. Matt and TJ were in and out in 10min AND they cleaned up! My 2 car garage was FILLED with cardboard boxes and other items from moving. The communication, the quality of service, the cost of service, the quick turnaround and the professionalism! My jaw is still on the floor with how quickly they did that. 10/10! Would highly recommend!

I took paint, car chemicals, small propane tanks and some battery chargers. Most everything has signs as to where to depose of it or ask one of the employees where to put it. Was not too busy on a weekday morning, but does get extremely busy on weekend. Scales and traffic flow has improved. You can also pick up free mulch when available if you have a truck or trailer.

The entrance only has 1 sign that posts the hours of operation. When you cross through the gate, there are traffic cones that lead you to the front office to be weighed or you have the choice for express recycling to the right where it's self serve. One day, I had to dump an oversized toaster oven and went to the wrong area, the man in the bulldozer came up to me, pointed to put the item inside, and he hauled it for me. Today, I was stuck behind a pick up truck pulling a trailer and he was parked at the exit, blocking the right lane. An employee (The young man with a "Gucci" headband, on the golf cart) motioned for me to go around the motorist. I felt that was a kind and professional gesture, being considerate of my time when he could've cared less. I am appreciative of the way that even though this is a major city, the workers bring it back to basics with excellent public, customer service. You guys/gals are amazing! I will be back!

Let's start with what it is not. It is not a completely free place to get rid of everything that you no longer want. Some things have a fee. Get over it if you are a cheap *$$. Yes you can get rid of some things cheaper elsewhere. So what? If you are that cheap take it elsewhere or put smaller amounts at your curb over the next six weeks…..

What it is: a great place to recycle any amount of cardboard for free. A great place to take smaller amounts of household waste for free. A place to take smaller amounts of excess yard waste for free. A great place to take a truckload of yard waste for $8.00. So worth it to spend twenty minutes loading and unloading a truck with leaves and branches vs trying to cram leaves into a bag (10 free with curbside service) and dealing with excess bags for the next four weeks.

As far as the employees here, I have only had pleasant experiences. Helpful, courteous, and really much better that most government services anywhere else.

Lastly, to the goofballs who keep complaining that they pay taxes and this service should be free. You sir, must live in a strange world…. recycling centers like this do not exist in other states with much much much higher taxes. Please stop 😭😭😭😭😭😭 you are only embarrassing yourself.

I was at the recycling center dumping some items and lost my phone on a Saturday. I sent an email to the department, expecting to hear from someone Monday morning. Jeff replied to my email within a couple of hours and personally offered to meet me at the recycling center on Sunday morning to retrieve my phone. It took some time to find it but I was able to locate it. He's a very nice man and took his personal time to help me. Much appreciated!

The last few times I have gone I have been charged, the first time I was charged $15 which is fine if that’s the cost to dispose of trash when you’re a resident. Today when I went the lady in the booth charged me $28.50 because the address on my license is different than my Huntersville address- she claimed she would have to charge me as if I were a business due to the address on my license, I offered to show her my lease and she seemed as though she would charge me the $15 or at the very least discuss the charge with me. Instead she charged my card without telling me the amount and when I explained to her that I had only been charged $15 before with the same license. she scoffed and me and turned the mic off. I have no issue being charged but the fact she charged my card without discussing the amount is extremely unprofessional. I happy to say that I will not be using this center for any other needs, the staff is rude and impatient I would not recommend at all

Hailie Riley rated it 1/5: This is honestly the worst landfill/recycle center we use on a daily basis. They charge more and maintain less than any other landfill recycling center around. We try to avoid this landfill as much as possible. Our most recent experience here was they don’t take yard debris and trash mixed together in the landfill. We must separate the load or go somewhere else. We’ve already waited a 30 minutes to even get weighed don’t have much time to go anywhere else. There is no reason to not take the load mixed other than them waiting to make a profit off the yard debris. We understand the recycling portions but some loads are a mix and there’s nothing we can do about it. They should be ashamed with how much money they have coming in and they do this to their repeat customers.
justin riley rated it 1/5: If you can spare the extra 20 minutes to go to another landfill, I strongly recommend. You’ll probably save money and time with how long it takes to go through their line. They dump construction debris with trash, so you are almost guaranteed to get a nail in your tires. They also will not allow you to dump yard waste in the landfill so if you have a customer load it all up in one bin, they will make you separate it so they can put the yard debris in a mulched and make money. TERIBBLE LANDFILL.

Half the time they do not come on time, the other half they leave the bin in the middle of our business parking lot (which has a hill and multiple cars in the parking lot). This time they broke the bin when emptying, left it in the spot and 3 days later STILL have not come out to fix it even though I was promised someone would be here yesterday to either replace or repair it. Now they are saying it could be up to 30 days!!

My recyclables haven't been picked up in over a month even though my bins are out front the night before my scheduled day every week. My trash got picked up the Monday after my scheduled Thursday pickup day and yet they can't seem to get someone out here to get my recyclables on an off day and they're the ones missing me constantly smh. I'm a truck driver and machine operator myself and know good and well they can come out here on Saturday if need be because they're short staffed because per DOT regulation they still will have 10 hours of work time if they did 14 hours per day Monday thru Friday. I'll come get one of your trucks and get my own stuff if you put me on the payroll for Saturdays

They certainly have enough money to incorporate and AI who can’t give real answers but should instead hire some people! If/when I ever speak to these folks, I’m letting them know Reliable Sanitation will now receive my entire street’s business. Shameful!

This is by far the absolute worst company I’ve done business with and highly recommend you look at other options for trash and recycling removal because their service is actually trash. They were over a week late delivering our trash cans so we had trash sitting outside of our house! Then on top of that they didn’t come pick up our trash for over two weeks (this is after I had called about the issue twice). This has happened several times. I’ve had to call almost every week to report that our trash had not been picked up. They have picked the trash up only 3 times in the past 8 weeks we’ve had service with them and it’s always late so we constantly have trash cans sitting in our front yard! The customer service reps are rude and there is never any change to the service being on time even when you call. We are canceling our service as soon as we can actually get in contact with a rep. Don’t waste your time and money with this business! They are completely unprofessional. THEIR SERVICE IS TRASH!

Last time they did not come for 2 days and then wanted to charge me for an extra pickup. They have been late for 8 weeks in a row. You have to call them immediately because it may take them another 2 to 3 days to show up after missing the pickup day. Don't waste your time calling your rep because nothing changes. The new company we are using is cheaper and showing up when scheduled.

Staff sent text messages with ETA's for both pick up and removal which made scheduling my move easy. The pricing was competitive. Staff were courteous and respectful. Renting from VaVia was an all around positive experience. I would absolutely use them again.
