I live in a house with 5 other roommates. Between all of us, we've collected our fair share of extra mattresses, box springs, bed frames, tables, chairs, sofas, etc. that all eventually ended up in the back yard.

Junk King was super easy to work with. I booked an appointment online and got the confirmation soon after. Their team called me the day of and told me they'd run a little later than the scheduled time due to other jobs they had taking longer than usual.

They arrived 2 hours late but were very kind, courteous, and efficient. They took exactly what I told them to and even swept the debris off the ground when they finished hauling. They even gave us a discount when we negotiated the price.

Once we agreed on the cost, they went straight to work. Erik and Alex were super friendly and got the job done. They did all the lifting and took care of it all within 30-40 minutes.

Excellent service. I will definitely work with Junk King again in the future.

I never knew this until I recently did a composting course at the Solana Center online and discovered this wonderful service Miramar Landfill is providing. So now you can grow your plants and flowers for free and have the good conscience to know your food waste is not going to waste in San Diego!
I was advised by the staff to come during weekdays however if you want to avoid a long line to get in. I waited over halve and hour on a Saturday afternoon to get in. You have to get a ticket at the ticket booths before driving a few minutes following the signs for "Greenery". Compost is free for San Diego residents, $12 for everyone else. Mulch is $5 for everyone else.

I’m so happy to know that my food waste in San Diego is not going to waste. Instead, with my tax money it is being composted into compost that I can use in my garden to grow more food or plants to uptake excess CO2 from our atmosphere 😀 ..BOOM..!That is exactly how taxes are supposed to work.

It was a flat rate for my vehicle regardless of the amount of trash in the car. The staff was friendly and efficient. I found my way to the Public Dump area easily with the signs posted. I was surprised that the area did not smell too bad. Overall I think it was a very smooth operation.

There was no appointment available, but they make exceptions for situations like ours. I arrived 30 minutes before they opened at 9am, so I would be in and out as quickly as possible. Obtain your payout after each receipt; do not have them re-total if you have to go back through the line with additional recycling items. Because it's indoors it's pretty filthy it's also easy to get a flat because the concrete floors are littered with junk the smell as you might imagine is unbelievable and I had to leave my windows down even after I got home because the car still has the odor. February 2019 the sign said over 800 pounds is $50 under 800 didn't say what the cost is and you can also pay per Appliance I think it's around 20 or $25 for something like a refrigerator. *****They don't take liquids, Electronics, car tires.

We have been using this service going on about 4 months now. Nice and clean most of the time with no issues.

The people that maintain the area told us that plumbers come out at least once a week cuz ppl dump paper towels, diapers, feminine hygiene, etc and drain gets clogged up. That was on a day the dump site was closed down.

Users, please clean up after yourselves and use the facilities for what it's meant to be, so that we all can continue to use this site free of charge!!

My daughter also had previously purchased a trash can at $70 for her residence which we were picking up. John, who helped us was a very nice young man as well as professional. It is a convenient location, right off of Miramar Rd.

Dylan Herbst rated it 5/5: The two main working guys outside were incredibly helpful to every single person that came up and they ran a very nice coordinated effort to get the new bins out to people. They were knowledgeable for any questions and 100%, 10 out of 10, helpful.
Don Downing rated it 5/5: I tried. I really tried to squeeze a few extra months out of my aging and mangled trash container. Generous layers and bands of duct tape and flex tape helped, but I knew eventually I'd need to replace Old Faithful. Finally, today was that day. I listened for the truck down the street, knowing I may have to answer why my broken container threw trash all over the truck and street as it was lifted to the gaping maw of the truck.
I anxiously watched the truck first go down the other side of the street, then it rounded the turn, deftly grabbing and flipping containers into the truck, the hurl them just as fast down to the ground. I pretended to not know what was going on and went at watering the grass, not really looking.

But as my the garbage truck approached, it's razor sharp pneumatic Claw grabbed my container and I swore I heard my container yelp. "Hold on, buddy! Just make it through this one." I thought. Up went the container, me holding my breath, and at the apex was tipped over dumping contents – but not all contents! The driver paused and gave it another bounce finally emptying it.

Success! I breathed a sigh of relief as I watched The Claw bring my man down to safety, to the street and..wait, too fast. Too fast! As The Claw slammed the container to the street, the weakened and repaired side of the container gave way, The Claw piercing it!

I watched in horror as Old Faithful hung on for dear plastic life, a metal claw jammed in it's side, stuck. The driver moved The Claw back and forth trying to dislodge it. I could almost hear cries of pain as life slowly slipped away. It sat there, stiff, un-moving, impaled. I didn't know what to do, I froze!

The driver stepped out, wrestled the lifeless husk off The Claw, and stepped back into the cab. "I-I'm getting a new one!" I blurted out like an idiot. He gave me a thumbs up and continued on his route.

As the truck lurched away I stood there, looking at Old Faithful, reminiscing of the old days, walks along the boardwalk, fun on the Ferris wheel, hanging out during BBQ's, always there for cleanup, it was so accepting.

Solemnly I loaded him in the Jeep and made the long and lonely drive to Collection Services. They accepted Old Faithful with no problem, I showed them the receipt with the case number for the new one I bought online (though none will ever truly replace my man). I filled out a small form, and the attendant went inside.

In only a few minutes he reappeared with a receipt for me to get my delivery deposit back while he pushed me a new container who's black plastic glistened in the afternoon sun, had smaller speedier wheels, and the inside had that new container smell.

We merrily skipped back to the Jeep, loaded him up, and as I pulled out the Collection Services driveway I looked one last time in the side mirror (because the rear view mirror was blocked by the container) knowing Old Faithful is in good hands.

I got home and hesitantly loaded a few trash items into the new container, but to my surprise it was as accepting as the last one! I was feeling better already.

When we see our past in the rear view mirror, it's small. What's ahead of us is large, so that's where we must put our attention.

Cam Schultz rated it 5/5: Steven has been my go-to for hauling and spreading mulch for a few years now. Not only will he go to the Miramar Greenery and pick up a big load for me, but he’ll also unload it, carry it around the side of my house and spread it in the backyard. What a lifesaver! He and his crew members are always so polite, kind, and helpful. I really enjoy using their service and I appreciate that Steven can think outside the box to supplement his hauling service with those extra services that his clients need. I’d give 10 stars if I could!

He was able to accommodate at short notice and got the job done quickly and really clean, leaving the whole area spotless. Highly recommend!

He's completely reliable, communicates well, is efficient and timely and we were able to coordinate arrival times because he communicates. I have more work to do cleaning out my condo and downsizing and I'll definitely be calling him. I love that he takes items to be recycled or donated!
ken low rated it 5/5: Moving out? Downsizing or just spring cleaning? I would highly recommend Steven’s Hauling of Lemon Grove / San Diego. Steven shows up as scheduled and gets the job completed as quoted and you get the feeling of well being that comes from eliminating clutter and junk that has weighed you down. There are lots of “ have truck will haul” people that will quote you prices based on a picture or description only to up the price when the arrive, knowing you will most likely agree due to time constraints. Steven usually gets eyes on and quotes prices and honors that pricing . If you read the fine print or have experienced a hauler that upon the time of service finds reasons to Jack pricing up for various reasons, Save yourself the cost and hassle of all the above. If you have to clean it out , haul it off or move it , Steven is the guy to call. I don’t think twice and you shouldn’t either. 5 star service always.
